#unfortunately it is not just the parents#the screens are everywhere even if you personally don’t let them play#on the bus other kids#the dentist office even had a personal screen for the kids to watch while getting their teeth cleaned tags via @parapraxisaxis

The only people to blame for children under the age of 10 having “addictions” to smart phones, tablets, and technology in general is the parents. I don’t want to hear people complain about their 4 year old knowing how to play with the settings on their ipad. You put the iPad in your kid’s life. You gave a 4 year old their own ipad. They learned to use it. You did that. It’s your fault. Don’t blame kid’s for poor parenting, incompetence, and laziness when it comes to raising children.

#it's very real #you can try your best to have minimal technology in parenting #but kids are smart and wired to learn #and everyone's parents and in-laws and friends have apple watches #and your kids' friends' parents might let their kids watch a lot of tv #there are ads everywhere on screens constantly #and the dentist phenomenon for pediatric care in otherwise-uncomfortable cases is very common #so it's not JUST the parents to blame it's also society for forcing them on us all in every corner of everything #and also these things are designed to wire adult brains to want to interact with them #so children whose brains are at Peak Exploration of the World are more susceptible to building these pathways even if parents are trying
