One Piece Chapter 957 Review
It is chapter like this that gives the fans a reason and answer to the question, âWhy are you so invested?â In fact, it gives them a reason to call the mangaka, âGoda.â After 20 years later, the end destination is yet to be seen but the journey continues to please the adventurer. If thereâs an example of how fans are greatly rewarded with wonderful prizes, this chapter is the prime example.
Itâs no secret that the foundation of One Piece is mesmerizing. The lore, the world, the characters, everything about it is built to keep the fans engaged. Anything can be exciting to them, even when they tell a bedtime story. One would provide a great example to my notion, but weâll get to that soon. This chapter is pure info dump. After the abolishment of Shichibukai, Akainu speaks to Fujitora about the breaking news of Kaido and Big Mom forming a pact. More importantly, they drop the big hint to what essentially this chapter focus on: the legend of Rocks Pirates.
The Marines are going crazy over the news. They had it rough against Whitebeard, now they have to fight like two in titular speaking. I would quit and off to the deserted island. They didnât expect this to ever happen since Kaido and Big Mom are unlikely to unite, but here we are. This brings Sengoku to tell the legend of Rocks Pirates, seeing how most marines are uninformed about it. From there on, itâs filled with shocking answers, new questions, and all around hype inducing to the core.
Rocks Piratesâ crew had three Yonko tier members, specifically Whitebeard, Big Mom, and Kaido. Thatâs unbelievable. That is the crew you absolutely without a doubt donât want to mess with. Otherwise, you are a complete fool, unless one exception; weâll get to that soon. There are others that made themselves famous, including the Golden Lion, the one from Strong World. I know it is canon, but itâs pretty neat detail to say that movie has more value than before. As for others, it looks we should be prepared to meet them one day. Color me excited.
Captain Rocks was similar to Gol D. Roger in terms of aiming for the big prize: to be the Pirate King. However, judging by Sengokuâs words, he was absolutely ruthless to the world. He was a serious threat to the World Government; practically seen as a terrorist organization. It was until 38 years ago on God Valley, hell of a title by the way, where Rocks met his end. The man who defeated him was none other than Garp. Holy crap!
Itâs the same Garp that wore that doggy hat in his introduction to the series. This is why he is so well respected. This is how he obtained the title âHero of the Marines.â Some didnât even know this happened yet they assumed heâs well liked for other reasons. Thatâs the origin. I would call him a hero too. Every time I see him, Iâll spit shine his shoes.
This revelation had me backtrack on couple of things. If he was that strong, then that absolutely means Luffy has no chance in hell to defeat him back at Marineford War Arc. Luckily for him, he was caught up with emotions. Also, if Sengoku didnât stop Garp from confronting Akainu, he would have absolutely annihilated him. It would be so badly that all future enemies are going to feel it. This is crazy. It begs the question: why this story was never told publicly? More interesting details, coming up.
It was never reported into the papers for the world to see. Usually, that would translate to conspiracy, only itâs warranted as there is a major detail left unheard of. Garp may have earned the title, but he wasnât alone on that moment. In fact, there were Celestial Dragons in the midst of chaos. It shouldnât be problematic since itâs a Marineâs duty; however, Garpâs moral code doesnât permit him that duty. Thatâs why he never became Admiral despite his prestigious achievement. I mean he should be deemed as the leader of the Marine period. But it doesnât work that way and becoming Admiral would mean be associated closely with Celestial Dragons. Good for Garp for sticking to his code. He keeps getting better; probably best grandpa at this rate.
The shocking detail is Garp was working together with a pirate, hence why the news wasnât printed. But the real shocker is the pirate he worked together with. That pirate is Gol D. Roger. It just so happened that they were in the same location, so they joined to take out Rocks Pirates. It took two behemoths to take them out. Thatâs incredible. But the idea of those two as one is mind-blowing.
It makes me wonder though. Was it a coincidence for Garp to take care of Ace? Was it Garpâs way to owe Roger a favor? Were they friends before, during, or after the clash against Rocks Pirates? If true for any, Aceâs death will be even more tragic. Garp couldnât owe up to a friend. Itâs a speculation, but there must be more to this story than a simple âcommon foeâ scenario.
The God Valleyâs location is pretty interesting, because itâs no longer on the map. It is said that it has disappeared from the face of the Earth, yet it hold many mysteries that the World Government would like to keep it gone for good. What if itâs not really gone, but incredibly difficult to sight it? Itâs possible that it also has a different name altogether. I donât believe itâs gone for good. Maybe itâs under the ocean somehow. Wherever it is, it holds the key to more lore and secrets.
Everything here is very interesting, so I wonât repeat the same thing like the last chapterâs review. That said, the one that pique my interest the most (debatably) is Rocksâ full name. He was Rogerâs greatest enemy. He was known as Rocks D. Xebec. The one detail we donât get here is the mystery of D. We know now when they associate the letter âD,â his appearance springs up to their mind. What caught my attention is his last name. Isnât Blackbeardâs ship named, âSaber of Xebec?â Is that a coincidence? Is it a tribute to him or something more? It makes me wonder if Blackbeard is related to Rocks. It would definitely give him the âfinal villainâ vibe.
Now we have gone through crap load of info dump, itâs time for fansâ most exciting topic to discuss since power levels in Dragon Ball: bounties! If numbers can excite fans, you know you have a strong foundation built. I too am excited, and Oda goes for broke (no pun intended?). First up, Blackbeard, going for 2,247,600,000 berries. Just started and already made a lot. Next, Shanks, going for 4,048,900,000 berries. What a gap. His origin remains a mystery and I do believe he has nothing to do with Rocks Pirates. Just who the hell is he?
Then, Big Mom, going for 4,388,000,000 berries. At last, Kaido, going for 4,611,100,000 berries. Make no mistake, all of them are mind-numbing to handle. That would explain why Marines stopped the war when Shanks showed up. These guys are too much. If you can get lucky to take one down, youâll be hailed for the rest of your life. I would love to see Shichibukaiâs bounties, but these Yonkoâs are incredible. If Luffy beats them, he will be God.
The report doesnât end there though. Whitebeard and Rogerâs bounties are also shown on display. Whitebeard for 5,046,000,000 berries and Roger for 5,564,800,000 berries. The gap is serious. Rogerâs power is still a mystery. What makes him so incredible? The only way to beat his numbers is combing force, hence Big Mom and Kaido. What a clever way to tie in to the discussion of what to do with Wano Country. Akainu says they wonât do anything, but something tells me that is not definite. I know there will be something that will have them involved. That aside, one major âcoincidenceâ comes to their mind.
When itâs all said and done, the one thing that caught Sengokuâs interest is the relations to Wano Country; not to mention, Oden. He was last with Roger, sailing along on âthe Pirate Kingâs Last Voyage.â Of course, he is long gone by this point, but the question remains, âWhy are so many powerful individuals connected to Wano?â Thatâs a serious validated question that thereâs no way itâs a coincidence. I wonder if this is persuasive way to drag Marines to the main arc. Remember, they have CP0 member there as well. Something is really shady.
Itâs truly amazing how much development this intermission can give, even without focusing on Wano itself. I thought we know enough of the country, but now, it appears thereâs more than meets the eye. Though I questioned how the hell Orochi killed him, unless heâs that powerful. It could be due to Kaido, but weâll see. This chapter was a grand prize for fans who adore the lore. From new depth detail of the origin of Yonko to the clarification of their bounties, itâs a trip to heaven. Itâs even better with how Oda executed the details in an enticing way. It was delivered in a way to keep you glued and read very carefully because it was that significant. Itâs hard to do it justice review wise, which resulted to analysis post. Bottom line, fans will be grateful and to Oda, thatâs rewarding itself.

The Incarnation of Jesus Christ Superstar
A Rock Opera that deftly handles a complex theological Mystery.
Warning: Â Commentary on NBCâs live broadcast, NOT Supernatural related and contains religious discussion. If this is not your thing, please donât engage. Just move along.
I saw Jesus Christ Superstar, the movie, back in 1973 when I was 11.  Loved the music.  It was clearly âhip and coolâ.  The music stuck with me for a long time but not necessarily the particulars of the story. I remember strong performances. Thatâs it.  But I was DELIGHTED it was going live on Easter Sunday and I decided to watch.  I ended up re-watching it FOUR times.  I was that moved.  And hereâs why: In the intervening years since 1973 Iâve grown up quite a bit and made a great deal more progress on my faith journey.  And the specific production on Easter Sunday did an amazing job of portraying one of the most complex mysteries of Jesus â his Incarnation (becoming flesh).  The duality of Jesus being both truly human and truly divine. This understanding came, I believe, not just from my aging but potentially from Andrew Lloyd Webberâs involvement after so many years in yet another production of the musical he penned with Tim Rice when he was only 22.  It would appear the author has also gotten a deeper understanding over the years. Interested?  Read more beyond the break.  Not interested or bothered by a talk of religion⌠move along, these are not the droids your looking for.
Authorial Intent:  Understanding what the author intended is always difficult, but Iâve been able to intuit quite a bit after reading up on the backstory.  It doesnât mean Iâm unambiguously ârightâ in my interpretation but I think I have a good basis for my understanding.  First, this musical written when both Webber and Rice were much younger.  Both had Church of England upbringings, neither was particularly religious at the time. Rice said he liked to focus of âreal eventsâ and thatâs why he picked the story of Jesusâ last days as well as writing âJoseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoatâ.  Their focus for Jesus Christ Superstar was the story of Jesusâs last days from the point of view of Judas. When the musical came out, it bombed in Britain as too sacrilegious.  It was better received in the US on Broadway but neither of the authors were happy with the production.  It made a ton of money but they felt it missed the mark. Over the years, the potentially subversive concepts people assumed were being portrayed (Jesus was more man than divine, what was his relationship with Mary Magdalene, etc.âŚ) got seen in a more sophisticated light and even the Vatican (in 1999) praised the musical. Now enter the 2018 version and Andrew Lloyd Webber was involved again (and MUCH more powerful).  Comparing the 1973 movie versus this production, if the slight production changes were attributable to (or at least approved by) the author, then this is likely closer to their original intent.  And when viewed critically, I think itâs clear that what Webber and Rice wanted was to depict a better understanding of the nature of Jesus.
Character Analysis: Â This musical is first and foremost a character study during a crucial moment in history. Â Judas, Mary Magdalene, and Jesus are the central characters with Pilot, Herod, and Caiaphas second tier. Â Iâll look at each and discuss their point of view.
Judas â The primary narrator, even after his death. Â Judas sees Jesus as a man at the start of the show. He loves Jesus but thinks that the message is getting lost as the peopleâs adulation starts to grow. Â Heâs worried that they think Jesus is raising hopes too far and people will turn on him. Â Judas is critical of praise to Jesus versus praise to their good works. His snide remarks regarding Mary Magdalene show he is turning bitter. When he approaches the Pharisees, heâs looking to curb Jesus so as to protect the message. Â But the crucial scene, where he takes the money â it is obvious Judas knows he is doing wrong and does it anyway. Â Later he blames others for his betrayal. First Jesus, then the Pharisees, and possibly God. Â Judas feels like he was forced to play a part and after committing suicide, he comes back (presumably from the vantage point of hell) and still is conflicted about who Jesus is. Â In the titular song, he seems to understand Jesus was more than a man but heâs tormented by Jesusâ nature. Â His final song is also done out of time and space; referring to modern communication and looking back at Jesus understanding the massive change that came from his death and resurrection.
Jesus â The primary motivating force of the show is clearly struggling as he approaches his final days. Â He sees it all laid out before him and he canât turn away. Unlike other productions, Sundayâs broadcast makes Jesusâ divinity obvious with the bright light appearing as he enters and an obvious reference to his resurrection at the end. Â But at the same time we see a heart-rending story play out as Jesus just wants to both inspire and yet is incredibly tired. Â The lyrics of the songs sung by the chorus often mix praise with doom (âHey JC, JC will you die for me?â). Unlike many portrayals of Jesus, we see his human nature clearly. Heâs angry, heâs afraid, heâs joyful, heâs sad. Â His point of view is ultimately of a divine individual choosing to suffer as a human for the sake of a people who really donât get who he is. Â And he needs them to go beyond their physical needs and have faith. Â He needs them to see beyond themselves. Â Ultimately his death is what propels the characters who didnât believe or had doubts. At his death they fully understand his divine and immortal nature.
Mary Magdalene â The loyal and loving supporter of Jesus is also confused about his nature. Â She knows she loves him but it doesnât make sense. Itâs not at all like the men sheâs loved in the past. She keeps trying to see him as a man but knows something about that is not ârightâ. Â Itâs not what their relationship is about. Â Unable to control her confusion she simply does her best to be supportive and help others to stay calm during tense times. Â There is no song that shows Mary finally understanding Jesusâ divine nature but the production and Sara Bareilles did an excellent job of making that realization evident as she watched his crucifixion. She is both sad and elevated. Â Her character suffers the most from having origins in the 1970s. Â Her songs could easily diminish her role to part love interest, part âearth motherâ. Still, the production was fairly good about making it clear that her relationship to Jesus may have been seen in a poor light but her faith in him guaranteed a spot in heaven. Â She was the sinner elevated by faith and she was exactly the kind of person Jesus came to save. Â
Pilot â The cowardly villain, used by the Pharisees, and led by his fear. Â The musical is clear that he knows heâs doing wrong but has no backbone to stand up against the crowd. Â He tries to delude himself that he has no choice but itâs evident he can already tell he will be judged by what he has done. He engenders no sympathy. He treats Jesus like a man, but his gut tells him heâs making a mistake.
Herod â The hedonistic clown demanding proof. The campy nature of his appearance shows the point of view of someone overly concerned with worldly possession and transitory thrills. Â When Jesus refuses to perform for his entertainment, he throws him out. He is his own god and sees the humble Jesus as a foolish man. Â Heâs blind to what is really happening even as he smugly considers himself worldly.
Caiaphas â The protector of the status quo. He arrogantly assumes Jesus is just a normal man who will bring down Roman punishment by starting a revolution. Â He knows Jesus is a good man. He confidently plots Jesusâ death like a noble task, assuring himself this is all about the people and not about his own power. Â He shows no remorse and like any keeper of the status quo, immediately generates antibodies to this âinvaderâ to his sense of righteousness. Â
In the end, the people (the chorus) are overcome as they see Jesusâ death. They start out mocking and soon fall to their knees as he dies. Recognizing that this was not an ordinary man. The show ends with Jesusâ resurrection but you can tell that witnessing his death prepared not just his followers but the people in general to change their existence. Â They realize theyâve witnessed something they didnât understand and itâs easy to forecast they will go back and reflect on everything Jesus said and did to try and explain what happened.
Regrets: As a character story, the musical is wonderful in showing how conflicting and confusing Jesusâ existence was and how profoundly he changed people. Â The role of Peter and the rest of the Apostles is somewhat poorly treated in this story. Â They seem more like children having a good time who run away when things get difficult. Their redemption story, the story of the early Church, is not even hinted at. Â As mentioned earlier, itâs also easy to oversimplify Mary Magdaleneâs role even if the performance elevated the material. Â
Production: This was a marvel. Â The live audience felt very involved in the whole experience. The use of musicians on stage amped up the excitement. Â The grungy street-vibe of the scenery and performers worked well. Particularly impressive was Judas racing to the top with the dangling ladder used to show his fate. Â But the crowning achievement was the death and resurrection scene. Â With the use of a negative space cross surrounding the tortured being at the center. It was a perfect metaphor for Jesusâ nature of human and divine.
Performances: Â John Legend was just the right mix of ethereal and relatable. Â His face, his mannerisms, his vocals showed the wide range of Jesusâ experience. Â Alice Cooper as Herod nearly stole the show from a pure entertainment perspective. Â His campy performance contrasted well with the earnestness of the rest of the performances. Â But ultimately it was Brandon Victor Dixon who brought out the tragedy and the triumph of Jesusâ death and resurrection. Â His outsiderâs point of view, so full of passion and bitterness, provided the perfect foil for Jesusâ character. Dixonâs Judas was barely concealed rage and agony. Â His heartbreak at not truly understanding Jesus is what elevated the rest of us as we witnessed His Divine nature. Â
Bottom Line: Jesus Christ Superstar can be dismissed as catchy 70âs tunes about a âhippy Jesusâ but thatâs missing so much of what it offers. This musical leverages the points of view of those witnessing Jesusâ final days to allow us to experience both the man and the God. Â As Rice and Webber inherently understood, the best story is the true story. This musical examines that truth in an accessible way and leaves you wanting to understand more. Â

I came across Bruce Lipton years ago when he released the book âThe Biology of Beliefâ. I am fascinated with the subconscious mind and how our thoughts create our reality. This guy just merges science with spirituality, quite like a lot of other high profile science guys (Gregg Braden, Dr Joe Dispenza etc) who have realised the power of our heart.
A little bit about him â
Bruce H. Lipton, Ph.D., a pioneer in the new biology, is an internationally recognized leader in bridging science and spirit. A cell biologist by training, Bruce was on the faculty of the University of Wisconsinâs School of Medicine and later performed groundbreaking stem-cell research at Stanford University. He is the best-selling author of The Biology of Belief and received the 2009 prestigious Goi Peace Award (Japan) in honor of his scientific contribution to world harmony. Website: www.brucelipton.com
He has discovered that our subconscious is running the show and the beliefs have been installed from the age of 0-7. We can reprogramme our mind so donât freak out, this is where mindfulness comes in, heart focused breathing, practicing compassion for ourselves and others, feeling gratitude for every little thing and much more.  We all want to live happier, fearless, purposeful lives and Bruce is here to share with us what he has learned from his own experiences and from his scientific research.
This was one of my favourite more recent interview with Bruce Lipton so please watch this as you will be drawn into his joy, passion, and complete enthusiasm for this subject.
My notes from Bruce Lipton videos and what I find useful in developing a happier healthier life.
BE MINDFUL??We need to find out what our programming is? from 0-7. You may wonder how you can tell what these programmes are as you cant remember such a young age. You simply look at your life now and you can tell what sort of programming you had installed. What works and what doesnât. Look at the programme that you run like â Programme of weakness, programme of limitation, programme of victim, my programme that I need to suffer in order to help others..or programmes that I am unlucky in love or programmes I loose at all games.
Then you look at how you change these programmes.
The conscious mind is creative, you can read a book and gain knowledge, or learn to drive a car or paint a picture. The subconscious mind is a recorder and plays back just like a recorder. That means it learns in a different ways. The first 7 years your brain is working at a low level frequency called Theta which is like hypnosis so a child up until 7 is recording everyoneâs behaviour from those around us. But after the age of 7 we learn from repeating and practicing. Like how do we learn the times tables at school, well we repeat and repeat until it sinks into our subconscious mind.
New age sort of people say FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT⌠because repetition forms the habit. So just fake it till you make it every day that programming is installed. Repeat Repeat Repeat
Rapid relief change â Energy Psychology? Super Learning â what exactly is it? Like speed reading you can reprogramme your mind a lot quicker. Woweee..changing our belief in 5 minutes..this is just out of this world amazing and I shall list the many at the bottom of blog.
We cant talk to the subconscious mind as there is no one in there, look at it just like a recorder, a mechanism so we cant just say what we are going to change.
The body is like a robot and the brain is the controller but the brain has a programme and the brain has a spirit. When it runs from the spirit we can create heaven on earth. When it runs from the programme we create whatever the hell the programme says it is.
Look at the world, we have been separated for thousands of years by people competing against each other and look how it is turning out, it is causing our own extinction. Â We are all one and we need to live like this with compassion and living from our heart
The heart reads energy, Quantum Physics says we are all energy. IF my heart says wow I would love that â that means the energy says that from the heart. How do you feel about this? Energy is a feeling, Your heart will give you three answers â I donât like that, I donât wanna do that or I donât much care. Always do the rational thinking but the last decision must come from the heart â if the feeling says you are gonna gain more energy then go for it but if your heart says no then go away from it The answer is your heart and is the reading of energy. Thinking followed by feeling.
Heart Math breathing â This is a tool I have and love. Energy can come together and pair up and make more energy, called good vibes and bad vibes. We have been so programmed to think of the material world instead of the vibrational world. Quantum physics is the most valid science on earth. The field, the energy is the most important aspect of our lives. The heart, Love is the energy, the highest form of energy.
Okay so I said I would list the Energy healing modalities that Bruce has posted on his page and I am amazed at how many there are. I deal in energy healing and practice quite a few of these but I cannot wait to investigate some of the others.
Belief Change and Energy Psychology Modalities
Psych-K
PSYCH-K is a set of principles and processes designed to change subconscious beliefs that limit the expression of your full potential as a divine being having a human experience. From Bruce Lipton: âI teach with Rob Williams the orginator of PSYCH-K. This is the modality that I use personally and with which I am most familiar.â
Core Health
Why donât they look for what is right with me?â Core Health is a non-cultural, non-religious expansion of our inborn core of health â what is right in us! Advancing from studying disease to understanding Health, this innovative process moves beyond treating symptoms to Truly Freeing each individual by internal energetic decisions. Core Health leaps to the core of pure health, removing energy distortions for free flow of positive energy. The highly-effective DTQ Process (Deeply, Thoroughly, Quickly) dynamically achieves precise, experienced, permanent re-activation of a personâs innate healthy core.
Body Talk Systems
BodyTalk is an astonishingly simple and effective form of therapy that allows the bodyâs energy systems to be re-synchronized so that they can operate as nature intended. Each system, cell and atom is in constant communication with each other at all times. Through exposure to the stresses of day-to-day life, these lines of communication become compromised, which then leads to a decline in physical, emotional and/or mental health. Reconnecting these lines of communication then enables the bodyâs mechanisms to function at optimal levels, thus preventing disease and rapidly accelerating the healing process. BodyTalk can be used as a stand-alone system to treat many health problems, or seamlessly integrated into any health care system to increase its effectiveness and promote faster healing.
Emotional Freedom Technique
Based on impressive new discoveries regarding the bodyâs subtle energies, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) has been proven successful in thousands of clinical cases. It applies to just about every emotional, health and performance issue you can name and it often works where nothing else will.
Resonance Repattering
Quantum Change made easy. The Resonance Repatterning System â Resonance Repatterning System is an energy process which can help you identify and clear the patterns of energy underlying any issue, problem or pain you are experiencing.
Inner Resonance Technologies
IRTÂ has 7 brief steps that facilitate you in making certain inner agreements that set the conditions to allow your own automatic system to rebalance and harmonize itself physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually, transforming all parts of your life.
Instant Emotional Healing
Instant Emotional Healing: Acupressure for the Emotions, by Peter T. Lambrou, Ph.D. and George J. Pratt, Ph.D. Drs. Pratt and Lambrou have created a book that explains the foundations of a new branch of therapy call energy psychology.
