Me when wanting to draw a portrait of one of my characters turns into me studying the history of black hairstyles and stuff
#so far it's really interesting#I'm currently shamefully uneducated about this stuff#but I want to remedy that#bc I do need to figure out more of how these people look#besides clothes#it is a fantasy setting#and part of me wants to just go 'well they don't have the same history as earth so ill just make it up'#but I also know that researching stuff tends to give me inspo for worldbuilding#and makes my settings so much richer (flashbacks to the reindeer oml that saved me)#so I'm going to continue researching and prolly doing some concept drawings
