if I had a nickel for every time I got fixated on a series with a weird found family that saves the world despite all odds against them and one of the members was a whimsical nonbinary character who winds up getting put through the meat grinder, got weaponized by the enemy to harm their loved ones and manipulated through hallucinations to believe they were unwanted, became permanently traumatized + haunted by their actions once they recover, and subsequently struggled to find their place and regain the total trust of others again as a result, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s still weird that it happened twice
