Lighting assistant: Dream IRL Photography our final photos, I had a lot of fun messing with Lightroom to get a different look than usual. These are some of my personal favorite shots. We had a great time fighting the wind and still learning the new flash to get some shots for the elite Russian Jagger team.

So last weekend I had the photoshoot of my dreams with the best group in the world. I have been dreaming of a shoot like this for over two years, and it finally came to fruition, thanks to all these amazing people 😭

Stand Still Stay Silent @sssscomic is my favorite webcomic, and I got in my head that a group of my best friends would make the PERFECT cast for a Cosplay group, in both looks and personalities! So everybody read the comic and... It happened for real 😭❤️ I'm so, so happy!! . This shoot happened up in the mountains be Breckenridge where there's lots of beautiful scenery, thanks to our photographer Ottoshotgun who also let us crash his place! Pacific Rim: Team Cherno Alpha shoot Cosplays made by @snowsongcosplay lighting assistant: @DreamIRLPhotography I love Father Daughter cosplays when I come across them on the net and it wa a joy to work with these two! I always love working with Snowsong and her Father was fantastically funny! this was the shot I was hoping to get with this shoot. some playing with Gels and trying to strong arm the light of the sun.lots of play of rule of thirds, stepped away from my large fstop for once. I really wanted the dark dreary look yet the super saturated colors the movie brings in. With this shoot:

the issues:

Pacific Rim is usually at night, so shooting at 3:00 was a little challenge.

having a 60″ soft box in 30MPH winds (THANK YOU DREAM IRL FOR NOT FLYING AWAY!)

not preparing my ideas for poses ahead of time Photographer fail.

Protip: always bring props, even if they don’t get used they can sometimes be a valuable asset. the success: SOME BADASS PHOTOS!

I got practice with my strobe in

utilized new wide angle to incorporate the background to bring focus to subject

played in a new location to understand/scout it

will be using more post processing in this shoot for some artsy fun

I wore this to a kimono meetup with friends at the Denver Botanic Gardens this spring. It was my first time doing the kitsuke by myself (I’m learning)! My friend @snowsongcosplay (who lovingly sewed this kimono together from a bolt of kimono fabric) always helps me!

I chose some rather modern accessories and footwear as my haircut is in no way conducive to traditional styles (and because no one wants to walk all the way through the botanic gardens in zori lollll)

Super excited to do this, its the first time playing with my new strobe, a 60 inch soft box (I mean its big.... until you see it in person then you see it’s FARKING HUGE) and my sexy new Rokinon 16 mm lens! Pannon and Kiri are always a joy to shoot with so the opportunity was hard not to pass up!

Oh wow! Been forever since I posted, Will admit I’ve been super busy with life. BUT I got to try out some new things and old techniques with a wonderful  cosplay team Kiri Kitsune and Snowsong Cosplay! Snowsong worked really hard and had to deligate carefully to allow us permission to shoot at her college in one of the older buildings and wow! it was SO WORTH IT! Anastasia was worn by Kiri Kitsune made and hand embroidered by Snowsong! Just stunning work! Snowsong’s wikipedia dress was wonderful, a last set of pretty pictures to document the dress. To get the LAST photo I had Snowsong’s friend Smiley sit on my shoulders and take a shot from above to catch that lovely gradient as she laid down. This wasn’t the only time tonight I had someone on my shoulders: Snowsong took the Third shot of Anastasia  showing the reflection on the floor and the whole room while on my shoulders. That’s not all!  we also have Snowsong in her Austria from Hetalia! we got some really fun shots BUT we also got a recording of her on the Piano! (that will be coming um...sometime somewhat soon o____o) it will be a challenge but so worth it!
