how nice of his captors to offer free housing. yeah, 'cause that's not suspicious. there wasn't a whole lot isabeau could say on the matter, though, what with being herded into that 'car' and all. it's a blessing in disguise, turns out, for when he exits and takes his first step on fibonacci soil... from the very corner of his eye, he notices...!

"BONBON!?" he gasps. "BONBON!!!" again, for good measure.

"oh, change, you have no idea how happy i am to see your cute little munchie-stuffed face! you're so brave, bonbon!" laughter breathy from his sprint, he sweeps his all-time favorite kid into a hug (to comfort them, mostly, but... he, uh, needs one, too). when he parts to readjust bonnie's hat, the glee sobers enough for isabeau to look them over. "i can't believe i missed you at the freaky, bottomless pit. at least our kidnappers weren't, uh... full-on threatening us? i think."

realizing bonnie's quite literally incapable of a coherent response thanks to their full cheeks, he huffs a contented sigh... and flexes! grin overly wide and toothy!

"but with my fists fueled up on your snacks? i'd like to see 'em try!"

"Do you....need something?" As much as Mélusine didn't want to admit Spirale often had plenty of people who stared at her for various different reasons. Sometimes it was the fact she looked quite literally like a perfect doll while other times it was something that was about to smack her right behind the head.

Today managed to fill the later role, with the assumption being either her arm weapons or the bag of candy she was continuing to chow down on.

The (alledgedly) colourful bird stops in the task of preening his feathers, head tilting towards a crouched kid that is now offering him something that looks like birdseed. That's cute. A little misdirected, but cute.

"I prefer stone fruit, actually. Or chips, if you got any." The bird says (in a much deeper voice than one would expect a bird to have) before going back to cleaning his wing.

It had been a long day already. It's always a long day for Jardani. The sudden change of scenery was... not unwelcome. Some part of him thought he'd died, but no way would he be in heaven, walking along a path in the park and enjoying some much needed time with his dog. The pitbull excitedly retrieved a stick, to which Wick took and threw again. It took a bit longer than usual for the dog to return, and he was starting to get a little anxious. He really couldn't risk losing that dog in a place so unfamiliar...

John whistled, but to no avail. He'd looked away for only a few moments, not all that long, and started walking in the direction his dog went. He whistled again, louder this time. Just a bark in response, and he went in the direction he'd heard it from, only to find the pitbull bringing the stick to some kid. He sighed, muscles relaxing, shaking his head and smiling. "Come here, boy!"

"I'm sorry," he apologised to the child, although there didn't seem to be a need. His dog seemed to do fine in company. It barked towards John as he knelt down closer to the dog's height, receiving a few licks from him before the dog ran back to the child. "He seems to like you."

roleplaying habits

8. how does tiredness affect your writing?

i get cursed by the typo gods and start typing the opposite of what i mean, among other things (would vs. wouldn’t, nude vs. dude, etc.) i also start dropping words out of sentences & stuff without realizing lolol

14. what do you do after you see a person has replied? do you read it immediately, or do you wait for it to show up on the dash? do you like it, draft it immediately, etc?

usually i do batch replies so when someone replies me i let it sit until my other replies get replies too (which might take a few hours to couple of days), then draft them from my activity feed from latest to earliest. this way the earliest person to reply is drafted last from the activity feed & shows up first in my drafts chronologically.

but if it’s a thread that’s picked up the pace i like to respond immediately and me and the other mun pingpong posts on dash 🏓

19. how many drafts is a paralysing amount?

the # of drafts is meaningless to me because i always have a crapton of stuff saved in drafts to post for muse’s queue later (picture posts, quotes, songs, aesthetics etc.) so my draft count is 50+ by default.

but generally i find it comfortable to keep number of replies i owe under 15 per muse, which is very manageable these days since the group is much smaller and i don’t have multiples threads going on with the same muse. i think the highest i’ve reached was 12 pending replies on one guy…

i also tend to avoid RP ads (posting or liking) until i’ve made progress with muse’s current batch of threads, which helps keeps numbers down

memes to do are also not counted as drafts as they sit in my inbox out of sight until i tackle them lol, they never have an expiration date for me heehee

1. what’s a grammar rule you find yourself breaking or ignoring a lot?

[[ I honestly couldn't tell .. I like to think I'm pretty on-top with my grammar? Although I can sometimes forget to follow up on a sentence on occasion. It used to be a lot more common when I RPed about 2-3 years ago, but nowadays I try to makes sure I proofread my stuff before sending it out. I used to have to write in my rules that I very often will type out the wrong word ( like, I would write classes instead of glasses ) because my brain for whatever will write a word that sounds similar but isn't the same. It's a really weird error I'm still not free from completely, but I catch my mistakes ( most of the time ) ]]

5. do you listen to music while your write?

[[ Very often, yes! I have playlists for certain characters, and if you're curious to hear it then lmk. The ones I listen to most often are intended for John Wick and Silverhand, but I have a few 'background noise' playlists too. ]]

8. how does tiredness affect your writing?

[[ I start doing this thing where I write a reply in my head, and then it vanishes completely when my fingers hit the keys. Absolutely frustrating. ]]

His breathing stuttered, then returned in a rush as he registered the pain more clearly. And while it was enough to bring tears to his eyes, his gaze instinctually landed on the palisman held safely in his palms. A shaky smiled graced his lips as he affirmed Emmeline’s wellbeing, though she was frantic in turn as she took in Gus’ injured state.

He moved to sit himself up, wincing and crying out at the dizzying sensation. “Ow, ow, ouch!” With his body still blocking a good portion of the ground, he set Emmiline on his torso and used his now free hands to cradle his head, still voicing his ache in murmurs. "Urgh, I think I'll just lay here for a bit..."

Unbeknownst to him, his wide-eyed chameleon scuttled around in search of someone to help. She stopped in the path of another child, jumping in place to get their attention.

I bet she would think that was so cool!" They grinned at the thought. The teasing seemed to have the opposite intended effect, if it even was teasing.

My favorite training hack is: when in doubt, throw treats at it. So this isn’t going to be the right solution for every issue, but here it is in action: when I gear up for Luna’s walks, she had started barking at me once we were outside, which was especially frustrating to me while I locked the door. So I started throwing a handful of treats on the ground in front of her, and more recently into the grass away from the door. This meant that the “barking while I lock up” behavior completely stopped - because she was busy sniffing for kibble. Now that I’ve done it a few times, you can see how Luna actually waits quietly while I shut the door (not locking it yet) and then I throw treats in the grass.
