I don't do anything to break my sedentary habits, so I feel indepted to reply (if only so i can tag people and force myself to engage in some forced socialization, the most i'll probably do for days. So, 5 songs...well, i'll them at random:

The Chain - Fleetwood Mac: I sort of have to put this one since i just spent practically an hour listening to it on loop. No, seriously. I was doing a stupid dc character sorter or something, and i couldn't leave the page. So my YouTube backup tab ended up playing the song on loop for an hour.

When the Night Feels My Song - Bedouin Soundclash: This is a song from my childhood. Apparently it was a song the CBC used for their children's programming when I was a young kid, and that's how I discovered it. It's still a great song now, though.

And When I Die - Blood, Sweat and Tears: Another song I inexplicably liked as a kid. I seriously don't know why a song about being unafraid to die appealed to me as a kid, but it did. Maybe I just like the uptempo melody, or maybe i've just always been a very neurotic person who was reassured by a song like this.

Forever and Ever, Amen - Randy Travis: My dad likes this song, and I don't mind it either. It's nice and calming. And you know, I do think that country music was once better than it is now. There were a lot of good singers in that genre, which i know partially because of my dad (who i think likes it because of his dad). But it doesn't seem like there's as much good in the genre now.

Hand Me Downs - Arkells: My mom really liked this band. I personally like them too. They're a good group, probably obscure outside of canada (although i could be wrong about that), and i think they deserve more attention. Some of the songs i think really hit home for my mom.

It took a bit, but I made a drawing of Mother-Willow AU Vexy. The design may change, but I'm pretty glad on how it turned out. (Neck might be a little long though)

I wanted to keep elements from her original design while also adding some elements from the lost village movie. Something I also noticed was that Vexy's hair didn't change color in The Smurfs 2, and I have a working theory on that. I think it has something to do with Vexy and Hackus not being changed by Papa Smurf in hat movie, it was Gargamel. So, I gave Vexy's hair a blueish tint to it and gave her the cream colored shoes and cap. Some context about this Vexy:

• While Vexy still has a lot of her personality from the Smurf 2 movie, she is more open about herself and doesn't cause trouble out o maliciousness.

• She's quite protective of her newfound family.

• The scars on her body are from before meeting Willow, but after leaving Gargamel's hovel. Two are from the plants, one's from the river, and the burn scar on her face is from her first encounters with dragonflies (Hackus accidentally took an egg). Basically her scars are from her time in the forbidden forest without any guide, map, or anything but her brother.

• Her favorite smurfs to hangout with are Melody and Meteorite, since they both share her musical taste. Plus Meteorite shares an aesthetic similar to Vexy. But Vexy does like to poke fun at Storm sometimes, but the two are pretty close. Storm even helps Vexy with her archery.

• She knows a bit about magic from her time with Gargamel, hence why she helps her mom with natural magic, whether it be with gathering ingredients or preparing them.

• I kinda want her chosen weapon to be a dagger that she keeps on her belt.

• It took her a couple days to start trusting dragonflies, but has grown very fond of dragonfly riding. She even occasionally challenges Storm to a race now an then.

• I chose to put a hydrangea flower on her hat since it symbolizes family, same for Hackus.

Well, this is what I have for now, Hackus is up next. So far, based on he sketch I have in my sketchbook, I might like his design more than Vexy's. Once again, I hope this isn't too much.

Sometimes I wonder how the smurfs would react to finding out humans also sometimes have names like theirs

Like Tailor (Taylor), Painter, Hunter, Serenity, Melody, etc.

I assume they'd get confused and ask things like, "Oh then you must be great at hunting," or "Serenity, you must be a very calm person," and then get even more confused when that person isn't actually interested in what their name is, like 'Painter' not actually being an artist, but maybe they work on cars instead

I'm just saying the creators of the live action movies missed a bunch of joke opportunities by not giving any of their human characters names like that

Side note, I just remembered Johan and Peewit existed, and I think they should be brought back in some of the newer shows and movies

chapter six - sparkly small things

it has been official, three months of solid dating, we decided to stay in Japan, our hometown. and of course, he just played against Blue Lock. although his team lost, i was proud of him, but because Bachira was there too, i had to support my bestie!

we now lived in a small apartment around Tokyo, it does seem strange, for two famous footballers to live in something like that and not a fancy mansion, but, it was enough, it was filled with plushies and comfort. 

since i promised him some cup noodles and snacks after the match, we found ourselves sitting by the sea side, listening to each other's melodies. 

"hey, Sae! look!" i pointed up at the puffy clouds, which looked like a heart, he hummed in response, munching on his mochi with puffed cheeks. 

"look at that one." he pointed, saying between bites. that cotton candy looked like a smiley face, "want some?" he asked, handing me the packet of matcha and red bean mochi. "yay!" i smiled and thank him, chewing on the sweet.

"yummmm!" kicking my legs and smiled, seeing me like this, he couldn't help but to return the smile, glancing at her side profile. 

"i love you." he said out of a sudden, his warm hands placed on top of mines. "i lub you more!" i argued, the mochi was still in my mouth. 

"i love you the most." he fought back, chuckling while wiping some flour off the corner of my lips. "i lub you over the mooon and back and to the suunn and then to the... uhmmm..." i pout in thought, to win over him, i pecked his lips but he held the back of my neck, staying in the position. 

his mouth was filled with sweetness, the red bean paste with the matcha filling was still lingering in his lips. 

we parted when i giggled, swallowing the last bits of mochi. enjoying each other's company in silence, watching the yellow orb slowly disappearing in everyone's view.

as promised, tonight will be a movie night to make it a rememberable one. we had our sanrio character soft plushies surrounding us with a warm, comfy blanket.

what did we watch? The Little Mermaid.

the point was just to compare him with Ariel, they both had red hair and greenish turquoise orbs, what could be different? except for their gender... 

then, he literally switched the movie to smurf  to compare them with my azure hair... MEANIE! we continued to chit chat about random things.

oh, how small things can light humans up.

now, i just realised, no one is a perfectionist, no one is built perfect. 

not even Itoshi Sae, deep inside, he is just a small child, he was just someone who happens to have skill and talent in football, even he was a clumsy dummy. 

so this story wasn't about a perfectionist falling for a klutz.

it's a klutz falling for another more idiotic klutz.

The Origins of Smurfazalea

Intro: This story is all about Smurfazalea's origins, early life, and how she met her smurf soul mate. Unlike the other smurfs in the village, she is unique because she was nature-born in a garden of azaleas (hence her name) rather than created by a wizard or delivered by a stork. I am quite proud of this new idea since this hasn't occurred yet. This will explain about the birth, early life in her homeland, meeting her peers at school, and her growing passion to perfect her artistic fashion & beauty skills. And now, I present Smurfazalea's early life.

Birth: Born in late November from a rare fertile-rich azalea flower that served as her mother before she let her go in early winter, Smurfazalea was first sun-kissed from head to toe when her mother slowly opened her pink petals to the sky.

Homeland & Climate: Born and raised in the dry, rocky terrain of the mountains that rarely had snow during winter. Although it had plenty of rainfall and strong winds every winter. There lived a mixed gendered race of common various woodland creatures like fairies, pixies, gnomes, and elves. Smurfazalea was the only smurfette in the land, making her rare of her kind and a main attraction to gnomes and other local residents.

Personality & Skills: Azalea, for short, is a good-hearted beautiful natural-born artist with a resilient and artistic personality. Always curious about fashion designing, she dreams of owning her very own azalea gown that will never perish. One day, she hopes to share her beauty with someone she trusts and loves the most. She is able to draw and paint anything on a magic canvas that can grant only what she needs. She can become a high-spirited tap-dancer, tambourine player, and singer when she's in a joyous mood.

Interests & Hobbies: She loves spending time with herself and talking to her reflection when nobody is around. Her most cherished possession is her magic canvas that converts into a mirror that communicates only with whom it trusts. Azalea's interests are maintaining her hair, embracing her rare beauty, exploring face-painting styles, drawing pictures, crafting rock beaded necklaces, and making flower crowns for herself.

Smurfy Fun fact 1: AI mirrors are the most advanced mirrors invented in the middle ages that were owned by only the upper class and preserved at the art beauty school Azalea attended. Her magic canvas was given to her by the tutor.

Fact 2: Music has a powerful affect on Azalea and acts as a fear-proofing solution against danger. Music can also alter her mood depending on the melody's tone or meaning.

Fact 3: Azalea's magic canvas/magic mirror can do many things such as granting her most greatest wish, constantly absorbing what's all around, responds to questions, locate missing items, and allows her to view herself in 360 degrees angles. When in canvas form, the canvas can magically animate Azalea's drawings when she gives verbal commands like "make the flowers pirouette in the sky".

Fun Fact: Melon is a night time yoshi, she really doesn't go out during the day. Since it's hot and she mostly sleeps threw the day. She gets up at 6pm and goes to sleep around 6am Daylight savings when it's get daylight at 6 am. And around 7 or 7:30 am is when she also goes to sleep when it gets daylight at 7 or 7:30 am. She got a messed up sleep squchiel. She got her days and nights mixed up. During the night, she does go ice skating with her friends. But only during winter. As a night owl, she is very creative when it comes to night. When it's night time. She goes out during the night. To pant the night sky with the moon or no moon. She love painting during night time. As a night owl. She can be independent. During the night, when all her kids are asleep. She goes outside at night. Since she's free. During the night. She goes on long walks during the night. Starting a small series- snippets of writing from Smurfs WIPs I'll probably never publish

#1- a scholar's musing on the tale of orpheus and eurydice

(aka hadestown inspired me to make a story where brainy compared himself and clumsy to eurydice and orpheus)

Once upon a time, there was a youth- Orpheus- with a beautiful voice. Nothing could resist Orpheus's beautiful melodies, neither enemies nor beasts. Some say he was arrogant, some innocent, some dreamy and light-headed. Perhaps he was foolish, with a heart of gold but head of stone. Perhaps his voice wasn't so much beautiful as it was captivating- a strange accent, a melodic cadence, that made everyone who heard it want to listen even more. Perhaps it wasn't his voice that captured people's hearts, but the way he was- kind speech, kind heart, and all of this true to himself.

Once upon a time, there was a youth- Eurydice- who was beautiful in appearance and graceful in her movements. Not much is told about this young maiden, so she could be anything we want. Perhaps she wasn't the sweetest of maidens, but instead felt her emotions so strongly she couldn't keep them inside, and they spilled out in outbursts. Perhaps she was lonely. Perhaps she had dreams and aspirations of her own- to be known, to be appreciated. And perhaps that is why she fell in love with Orpheus, because he was the only one who loved her back.

For Orpheus and Eurydice were deeply, truly, in love. Who knows when they fell in love- perhaps they had known each other all their lives, and it happened slowly. They were close as could be, and each loved the other. Who knows why Orpheus loved Eurydice? Even I, who knows near everything, does not know why he cared for her. Not when he could get anything he wanted. But he did love her, and she loved him.

Once upon a time, there was a viper. A sneaky snake, hiding in the grass, or perhaps hiding under a guise of benevolence. Once upon a time, Eurydice left Orpheus, ran away, fled. Some say she was fleeing from another man, some that she was dancing with her friends, some just going for a stroll. Perhaps she believed she was no longer loved, and faced with the crushing weight of loneliness, she fled her home. Who can say?

Whyever it was she left, Eurydice, alone, drifted down to Hades, down to the fields of asphodel. The endless repetitions of the dead, the loneliness she had tried to avoid, her memories drifting away from her in the River Lethe.

When Orpheus discovered Eurydice was gone, he went to search for her. Of course, he went to search for her, why wouldn’t he search for her?
