In this article, we will discuss the top benefits of these herbs and guide you on how your lovely pipes can elevate your herb smoking experience.
Tumblr media
Benefits of Smoking Herbs
Smokeable herbs are plants that are used for smoking. These herbs are filled with medicinal properties and are burned to release their aroma and medicinal properties. Unlike tobacco, which is highly addictive, smoking herbs are typically non-addictive and widely used to create custom blends for smoking.
But it is best to use them occasionally or under medical advice, as inhaling any type of smoke into your lungs can be harmful over time.
Here are some of the key advantages of smoking herbs:
Relaxation and Stress Relief
Many smokeable herbs are known for their calming effects on the body and mind. Herbs like lavender are used for relaxation, helping to ease stress and anxiety. Smoking lavender can help create a calm environment and promote sleep without causing any sedation.
Mood Enhancement
Certain herbs, such as sage, are believed to help improve mood and boost overall mental well-being. Smoking sage has been known to support emotional balance and promote feelings of tranquility, making it a popular choice for individuals looking to relieve stress.
Respiratory Support
Smokeable herbs, like mullein, have been used for centuries to support lung health. Mullein has anti-inflammatory properties that effectively soothe the respiratory system. It’s often included in blends to support healthy breathing and alleviate symptoms of respiratory discomfort.
Spiritual Ceremonies
For thousands of years, herbs have been an integral part of our spiritual and ceremonial practices. Sage, in particular, is used in a variety of rituals for purification and to clear negative energy from a space.
Many people also use these herbs for meditation and mindfulness practices. Their calming aroma helps them achieve a peaceful state of mind with ease.
Mental Stimulation and Energy
Herbs like mugwort are believed to offer mild psychoactive effects, such as improving mental clarity and stimulating energy. Some people even use mugwort to enhance their dreams and promote lucid dreaming, though the effects vary from person to person.
Kicking Tobacco Habits
Last but not least, some smokeable herbs are very effective in quitting smoking tobacco. Herbs like lavender and mullein can mimic the act of smoking without the harmful chemicals found in tobacco.
Why Pipes Are Important for Smoking Herbs
As we have discussed earlier, if you are a passionate collector of smoking pipes and these pipes always tempt you to light another cigarette, you need not to throw away your beloved pipe if you want to smokeable herbs.
When smoking herbs, the right tools can make a big difference in the experience. Pipes are a popular choice for smoking herbs because they offer a controlled and efficient way to enjoy your blend.
Here is why you must use your pipe when smoking herbs:
Controlled Smoke: Pipes allow you to control the amount of smoke you inhale, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable experience.
Even Burn: A pipe helps to burn herbs evenly, which can enhance the flavor and reduce the harshness of the smoke.
Convenience: Pipes are easy to use and portable, making them a convenient option for on-the-go smoking.
Preserving Flavor: Using a pipe allows you to enjoy the full flavor profile of the herbs without burning them too quickly or unevenly.
How to Create Your Own Smoking Blend
Creating your own herbal smoking blend can be a fun and creative way to explore different flavors and effects.
But when you prepare a smokeable herb blend, it’s important to use a mix of base herbs, supportive herbs, and flavoring herbs in the right quantity for an unforgettable experience.
Base Herbs (40-60%): These herbs make up the bulk of your blend and act as carriers for the other herbs. Mullein is a popular base herb, as it’s gentle on the throat and helps to create a smooth smoking experience.
Supportive Herbs (30-40%): These herbs provide specific benefits, such as relaxation or respiratory support. Lavender and sage are commonly used for their calming and healing effects.
Flavoring Herbs (10-20%): These herbs are used to enhance the flavor of your blend. You can experiment with different herbs like peppermint, rose petals, or hibiscus to create a unique taste.
Conclusion
Smokeable herbs are an excellent and natural alternative to tobacco. These herbs contain some various medicinal properties that could do wonders for your body and mind if taken in moderation. Whether you're looking to relax, improve respiratory health, or enhance your spiritual practices, these herbs can provide a variety of advantages.

A Baby Witch's First Grimoire
Grimoire Entry 13 - Marijuana in Witchcraft
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: This blog post is intended for readers ages 21 and older, or 18 and older with a medical marijuana card. I do not condone the misuse of marijuana by anyone.
My history with marijuana
Back in early 2020, about a few months before June, I started to smoke marijuana for medicinal purposes. I had already been practicing magic for 4 years at this point. I had no idea what I was doing and had no structure for my craft. I started smoking once a night and occasionally would feel compelled to light a candle. Over time I started to notice myself performing magic when I was high. I realized that this really helped me to tap into my higher self and made my intent much stronger. Now that I'm older and wiser I've learned many other uses for marijuana that I had never even considered beforehand.
What are some uses of marijuana in witchcraft?
Cleansing
Divination
Blessing
Charging
Connecting with your higher self
Smoke blends
Spell writing
How to use marijuana in witchcraft
1. Cleansing yourself:
Take 3-5, 3 second hits from your cart or bong and visualize the smoke carrying away the negativity. If you're a heavyweight take 5-10, 3 second hits from your cart or bong. If you're a lightweight take 2, 3 second hits from your cart or bong.
2. Cleansing your space:
Start by standing at the entrance of your space, the area you walk through to enter and exit the space, and take a 3 second hit from your cart or bong. Exhale the smoke and visualize it clearing any negative energy. Move in a clockwise manner around the corners of the space, taking a 3 second hit for each corner.
3. Cleansing & charging an item:
Take the item you want to cleanse and charge. Clear the item of any dirt or dust that has collected on it. Take a 5 second hit from your cart or bong and exhale the smoke across the item you want to cleanse. Take a 3 second hit from your cart or bong and exhale over the item again to charge it.
4. Connecting with your higher self and writing spells:
Smoke until you feel a slight tingling sensation, or until you're high but still functional. Find a quiet place where you won't be disturbed and sit in a comfortable position. Allow yourself to meditate on the sensations you feel and all of your senses. Allow yourself to really focus on each one. When the time feels right begin writing down any spells that come to mind.
5. Create a smoke blend and use it for divination
Make a smoke blend that is 2 parts marijuana, 1 part intention herb, and 1/2 part aromatic herb from the list of smokable herbs listed below. Call upon your deity of choice and smoke in their name. Follow the method outlined in method 4 to connect with your higher self. Allow your divine self to commune with your deity of choice. Make sure you thank them when you're done.
Smokeable Herbs:
Lavender* - Good for healing, relaxation, and sleep
Rose Petals* - For love and beauty
Damiana - Increases the calming and relaxing effects of weed, used for lust and passionate love
Mullein - Communication with spirits and protecting oneself from evil spirits
Blue Lotus Petals* - Increases the calming and relaxing effects of weed, used for lunar magic, divination, and connection with deities
Wormwood and Mugwort - Used for divination, protection, and psychic power. (Do not smoke Mugwort if you're on birth control or are pregnant)
Mint* and Peppermint* - Used for good luck, money, energy, love, protection, and clearing negativity
Cloves* - Used to clear negative energy, attract money, stop gossip
Red Raspberry Leaves - Used to ease symptoms of PMS, offers protection, and love
Catnip - Relieves period cramps
Motherwort - Induces astral travel, channeling, increases psychic awareness, and eases anxiety
* - Aromatic Herb

fic snippet (i'm sorry acotar fans)
“You,” Charles’s eyes widened, “want to get high?”
“I do not see why you are so horrified, Charles. It is not about getting high, though as someone who was once given cocaine to combat a common cold I am certainly not uptight about such things. It is about…” Edwin tilted his head upwards, considering. “I suppose that it is about new experiences. I did not believe that I would enjoy Niko’s yaoi manga, but I now have a collection.”
“In the bottom drawer of your desk, where you still haven’t invited me to look.” Charles pouted.
“And I shall not invite you in the future.” Edwin nodded. “However, my reasoning stands. One cannot know how they will react to something until they attempt it at least once. Perhaps I will like this silly little herb.” He paused. “Do we need anything to make it… ah, smokeable?”
“Smokeable,” Charles snorted. “Yeah, mate. Some paper. We can use anything thin…”
“Niko gave me this atrocious book about faeries that has ridiculously thin pages,” Edwin said.
“And now you’re tearing books up? Who are you? What’d you do with my best mate?”
Edwin rolled his head limply, his brows drawn together, and gave Charles a look. “If you had attempted to read it, you would know that book is rather a strong word for it. The female protagonist’s name is essentially faerie, and the thin storyline leaves much to be desired.”

The studio was warm in the coldest night of this Autumn, warm yellowish light and the red carpeted floor made it feel like a cosy log cabin. A full drum set with a few too many ride cymbals and windchimes sat close to the middle of the fat bare bricked wall, with a small metal bucket that had the remains of broken splinter drumsticks. A rack of guitars and two bass holders stood next to the right wall where an old armchair sits, a few different sized amps scattered round the square room. Right in front of the glass that separates the control room from the studio three mic stand in a line with noise cancelling boxes surrounding each of them.
In the control room there is a strong smell of weed and other smokeable herbs, "No! You can't take Runaway Blues off the album!" A man with short shoulder length brown hair and a moustache protested as he puffed on his cigarette as he lied back on the couch, his dark glasses fell back on his face as he tilted his head back. "I agree with Jake. It shows how good we are even when we're shit faced." The man with long curly hair, a gorgeous ethnic nose, stood up – towering over the other 4 people in the sesh – and began to roll another blunt on one of the control panels. The one that started this debated piped in, "Thanks Dan for taking my side." He said sarcastically, his curly mullet was like a solid cloud on his head, and he has a moustache like Jake. "We'll our wonderful manager and producer here," A man that looked like Jesus pointed to a woman that sat next to Jake on the couch. "Was the one that wasn't shit faced, I think that's why it was actually good, Joshua." He finished. "Hey, hey, I'm not saying it's shit because of you, please believe me y/n!" Josh dramatically pleaded to y/n. She was looking up at the ceiling. Pupils dilated. Blunt in hand. "Just, make it shorter." She said confidently, waving her hand a bit. Still not looking at anyone and head craned back. "You have the answer to everything." Danny said his mouth slightly gaped that such a simple solution didn't register in any of their minds. Or he's just on a psychedelic trip and can't spark up a brain cell.
The following week the band had dates in LA since they were still doing there 'Dreams in Gold' Tour. The band was already at the venue setting up, some still sleeping in the bus. Y/n had some business to attend to in their studio in New York before going down to LA. She decided to walk down the infamous Sunset Strip, as a historic music place like this could not go untrekked when having the chance. Wearing a black turtleneck, dark blue flare jeans with dark brown boots and a satchel bag hanging from her shoulder, a small suitcase's handle in the other hand while the silver case dragged its wheels on the floor. As she caught the sight of the colourful sign of The Rainbow, a voice called to her. "Y/n?" A older man, short blondish hair, leather jacket, sunglasses.
Axl Rose.
And like the trigger of a gun being pulled,
A life was lost.
(or misplaced)
Y/n's POV:
Everything stood still,
I stood still.
Then it all went dark. It was a black lifeless void.
Falling backwards but being physically still.
Time was reversing.
A previous life. My life?
Memories rolling past like an old film.
My head spiralled.
I can't comprehend this. What is happening to me?
My first years of school, late 60's early 70's. That's not right. It was the early 2000's.
Falling in love with music, Queen, Elton John.
Highschool was trip. My parents being stricter than anyone else's, they didn't believe I could have a job as in the music industry.
Studying music in college then going on the Uni and taking a science course to get my folks off my back.
One of my most successful record deals was Mötley Crüe and Bon Jovi.
Before they even started writing lyrics for their songs, I knew it off by heart and helped them gain success with it and recording went like dream.
Now I was searching the East Coast for a new band to sign.
March 1985, The City of Angels.
A flash of light, and my eyes flickered open.
It a cold night, dark but the city light was somewhat comforting.
It was the Sunset Strip, but something was...
Off.
------------
OMG SORRY IF IT'S SHIT
THIS WAS LIKE THE INTRODUCTION, FIRST PART IS COMING OUT SOON
IM SO EXCITED
(Band at the beginning is greta van fleet )

hii! this is probably a weird Q, but do you know of any blends of herbs that give a similar effect to weed?
i'm tryna cut back bc that shit expensive
(˶╥︿╥) thank u!!!!
Okii so it sort of depends on what type of effect from the weed you want specifically cuz of course people get different types of weeds to have different effects. But some of my favs that have similar (though definitely more mild) effects are Blue Lotus petals (which creates a euphoric feeling, its mildly psychoactive. I think its the closest personally and you can get it on etsy, just be sure to get food grade or organic to insure its safe to smoke) Uva Ursi is another that gives a euphoric feeling and a slight head high. Mugwort can give you a calming feeling and so can lavender. I think my go to blend is blue lotus, uva ursi, a bit of mullin (which is good for lung health and i have asthma lol. The mullin is optinal but i also think it makes it burn smoother) and a bit of either mint or rose for a bit of flavor. But i recommend just doing a bit or research! There a lot of resources on line, a quick google of 'smokeable herbs that arent weed' youll probably find some information :)

just had the most beautiful joint
dispo weed is such high THC and it can give me a lot of anxiety if I don't have the good fortune of having absolutely 0 stressors in my everyday life, which is exceedingly rare. like when I take edibles, two is (esp during times of regular use) perfect but 3 gets me absolutely blasted. So 10mg is like the edge of my comfort zone but 15mg is too mf high.
i started testing mixing THC flower and CBD flower for pain management, because the 1:2 THC/CBD ratio the edibles have been so good for my back, but I needed to find a way to get between like... idk 8-13 mg THC and a lot more CBD. then i ended up getting some smokeable herbs to mix in, because i already use and enjoy mullein because i have baby lungs
the joint had CBD flower, muellin, a lot of red raspberry leaf, a pinch of ground lavender, a lot of chamomile, and THC flower. The CBD strain was Lifted and the THC strain was Deep Blue Gas. They pair together well tastewise.
I don't have exact proportions because I mixed it with nothing but a prayer (a mix I had tried earlier in my *new* bong... didn't feel great) but I really like how it feels. no racing heart, sweating, fatigue, anxiety, paranoia... A little nice, mellow, body-heavy high. And it wasn't harsh, it also tasted good. The raspberry leaf is one of my favorite ingredients which I really didn't expect.
Going with a small amount of lavender and grinding it rather than throwing the flowers in hole comes from how harshly they taste being smoked in big chunks lmao. I thought it was too harsh to enjoy and small amounts ground seems like the best way
unfortunately have confirmed that THC contributed a lot to the pain relief aspect of it, CBD by itself had a very mild amount of muscle relaxant effect, but it didn't last long and wasn't as strong as THC + CBD together. but at least now i can work on dosing with THC flower. i always found that kind of hard but having ratios of other leaves to mess with should help
i still have a few CBD flower strains coming in the mail, along with CBD wax. I'm not sure what to expect from that though lol
this is an embarrassing stream of semi-conscious notes on a pretentious joint but whatever 🫥
