While Gaius knew how to design his devices, knew what they were meant to look like and how they were to function, he could not make them himself. Instead, he found himself with his uncle’s blacksmith often to either make him something new or to have something fixed. Sometimes, he was too rough with the tools. Oh well. There was no use dwelling on what was already broken. Today, he had modifications to an old device. The Scavenger’s Daughter was one of his favorites, but he was sure the object could do with some more painful modification. In particular, he wanted metal spikes places in certain areas and adjustments made to the closing mechanism. “Feron,” he hummed, stepping into the smithing area. “I have something for you.”
