I think Dazai would like mess around with your makeup stuffs and pretends he’s you doing your makeup and he’s like HUH how tf do you use this??

you definitely yell at him for wasting products!!! what i know about makeup is that it is Not Cheap.

dazai stares at you like a deer in headlights, your favorite eyeshadow pigment decorating the tips of his fingers. did he have to try and swatch all of them..?

you’d gently sit on the edge of your vanity, telling dazai what each product does, how to properly apply it, and helping him to doll himself up like you do.

he’s all giggly the whole time, not immune to the excitement that comes from making yourself look pretty! but he’s mainly giggly because the one helping him is you ❤️

when it finally comes time for lipstick, you help him pick out a nice shade that works well with the rest of the colors he’s since applied, and he excitedly stops you before you can put it on!

“i know how to do this one, i know!” he’ll say animatedly, swiping the tube from your hand and uncapping it.

you watch in amusement as he lathers his lips, deciding not to mention that sometimes less is more. he looks too cute, who are you to stop him?

Legs swinging back and forth, you watch him from your position on the vanity’s surface. Your hands gripped the edge of the piece, keeping yourself stable as he finally recaps the lipstick tube and sets it on the now messy table, all of your properly organized pieces in disarray from Dazai’s attempt at playing dress-up.

Even though it was applied haphazardly, he looked very pretty with his big brown eyes and now full lips, eyes showcasing an impish glint and lips accompanied by a mischievous smirk. You knew Dazai well enough to know he was planning something, but it was hard to decipher just what.

“You’re gorgeous,” you smirk back, still amused even while silently noting his coy expression. Teasing, you add, “I can’t believe I was able to land such a pretty girl.”

Dazai’s grin doesn’t falter. “Not done! Next you’re supposed to blot, right?”

His words make you smile. “If you want to, yes.” And he definitely should, judging by how much of the tube he just used up. $30 well spent, you suppose.

A yelp escapes your lips before his are pressed to yours, arms wrapped around your neck from yanking you down towards the vanity chair he sat in. Dazai couldn’t help the small smile on his face as he held you close, eyes fluttered shut as he enjoyed the kiss.

Your hands moved from the edge of the vanity to his shoulders, not wanting to topple forward as you kissed back. Yeah, $30 well spent.

i am in desperate need of a "childhood friend!reader" with Dazai (pref. m!reader), where they know his trauma n stuff and take care of him where he falls short (self hygiene in general). so they like take care of him after oda does n he leaves the Mafia, giving him a bath, washing his hair, changing his bandages, etc. and a bunch of unspoken words (with a couple of kisses? 👀)

Dazai X gender-neutral Reader

Fluff, little kisses and an overall bad-to-good feel.

“D.A.Z.A.I.!” your voice louder than a human at this point , anger boiling you shouted his name only to meet with him running out of the bathroom holding a towel to his waist all wet and bubbly with soap “WHAT !” his voice laced with worry. 

You hold out the empty bottles and trun pointing at the 12 bottles on the floor “it has been 2 days since i left you alone “ you took a deep breath seeing his all smiley “Please.. Dont drink so much “ you said and turned to clean his mess while he went back to at least wash the soap off him .

Coming out he sat down on the couch as per your hand gestures and waited like a puppy with a towel while you settled on the couch and dried his head “Why do you drink so much ?” your voice calmer and softer. 

Shrugging his shoulders he said nothing “Fine now after i am done with your hair, the files Kunikida asked me to finish up “ he said getting up. Dazai who was quiet till now spoke “ what will you do i went back to Port Mafia “ hsi voice was low but you heard it . 

You feet stopped moving you turned looking like a ghost “ no.. why would you ever ..” you started “ oh ..wait does the direct-” “ no like I go back “ he said this time looking straight at your eyes which were filled with horror. 

Dazai knew what you went through and you knew what he went through, you were each other's saviours and only campion “ no” you said sternly and walked up to him. Hand holding his chin up firmly “ no never if you go back I am coming “. 

The dry-bandaged man looked at you with wide eyes, even if he did not express many emotions you could read him like a book, and you knew he wanted to cry “I will never let you back into that hell hole alone that's it“ you said kissing his lips and walking back to do your chores “oh I dropped the files on the bed finish them “. 

Dazai just sat head hung low, feeding him, bathing him, cleaning him or nursing him, loving him and caring for him. He did have one person who did all that “ sleep let me read you something “ you would say pushing the injured man on the bed while he thought about how lucky and blessed he was to have someone like this again. 

Every time you fuss about him getting hurt or every time you complain how his bath routine is shit “ Is miss him yet i feel fine … is it wrong “ his mind thought making him break into tears. Dazai made sure never to cry in front fo you, he did not want you worrying more but he felt he did not deserve this . 

As his mind was thinking all “ unwanted stuff “ which is what you always said about his thoughts you suddenly held his chin up and crashed your lips. This time it was not a peck but a full-fledged kiss as you dug your tongue in Dazai joined holding your neck and pulling you onto his lap “Go. Do.your.work “ you said breaking from the kiss and flicking his forehead. 

Smiling Dazai nuzzled against your neck “ Thanks Oda i know how to respond to love, I will try my best to stay on the good side “

You walk into the agency more happy than usual, and Dazai seems to be the first to take notice. You're humming a sweet tune to yourself, you gladly take the paperwork that is offered to you by Ranpo, and you're the first to offer to go shopping with Yosano. 

What could be going on with you?

“Hey, Atsushi-kun, do you think anything about Y/N is different today?” whispers Dazai to Atsushi who is doing the remaining paperwork his senior gave to him.

Atsushi takes a quick glance up and sees you happily doing paperwork. 

“She seems fine to me.” Atsushi says and goes back to doing work.

Dazai stares at you, “No, no” Dazai puts a hand over his mouth and moves closer to Atsushi, “Look more closely, she seems way too happy to be doing paperwork.” 

Looking up once more, Atsushi does see what Dazai is talking about.

You're all smiley, which Atsushi does find a bit strange, especially with the mountain of paperwork you’ve been given. You seem to be doing it with ease.

“Maybe she’s happy because she just wants to be?” Atsushi tells Dazai.

Dazai shakes his head,” I don’t think so and for that reason I will make my life goal to figure out why she’s so hap-” Kunikida smacks Dazai in on the back of his head, “Will you get to WORK you sack of bandages!!”yells Kunikida,” Stop bothering Atsushi and get back to your own reports.”

Dazai rubs the back of his head,” But Kunikida look at Y/N.” he whispers.

Kunikida takes a glance at you.

“I see nothing wrong with her,” Kunikida looks back at Dazai,” Instead of watching her like a creep you should be doing your WORK!” exclaims Kunikida.

He goes back to his desk, while Dazai continues to stare at you.

You look up from your stack of papers to see Dazai staring at you.

You give him a smile and a quick little wave and continue humming to yourself.

Just what is going on with you?

As the work day comes to an end you still have a smile on your face.

You pack up all your items and head to the door with glee. But what you don’t notice is a Dazai and annoyed Atsushi following close behind you.

You are sitting on a bench at a nearby park with your phone in your hand, you seem to be waiting for someone.

While Dazai and Atsushi are sitting behind a bush, with Dazai staring at you through the shrubs. 

“Dazai I still don’t know why we have to do thi-” 

 Dazai cuts him off,“Shush now Atsushi, we might finally get some action around here instead of the never ending boredom.” 

Atsushi does have to admit, it has been quiet as of lately. But maybe quiet is a good thing.

“Atsushi look!!” 

A man in uniform makes his way towards you. He has flower petal tattoos under his left eye and a smile on his face.

You stand up from the bench with a wide smile on your face, “ I missed you.”  You wrap your arms around Tetchou’s neck.

 He smiles down at you, and kisses your forehead.

Your smile grows wider. “How about one here,” you point your finger to your lips.

With a smile he puts his lips on yours. The kiss is sweet, a type of “ Hello, I missed you ” kiss.

His hand reaches yours and pulls them to his mouth, giving your knuckles a tender kiss.  

“I missed you more.”  he tells you sweetly. 

You look into his eyes, “Let's go home.”  

Tetchou takes hold of your hand and you both begin the journey home.

Behind the bushes is a very jaw dropped  Dazai. 

His eyes stare at both of your figures, till Atsushi slightly pushes him. 

“ A DOG!!!!”  he turns to Atsushi , “ SHE'S WITH A DOG!!” 

Atsushi is taken aback a bit. “ Dazai, I don't think that guy was a dog.”

“ NO, A HUNTING DOG!!” 

“ A hunting dog?” 

“I can’t believe this! My belladonna is with a mutt!!” Dazai cries out with a hand on his chest.

This new found discovery will be talked about.

The next day you return to the Agency with a smile.

Dazai has his hands clasped together, staring at you intently.

“Dazai, why are you still staring at her?” Atsushi asks.

He continues to stare,muttering, “ a dog,.... dog,... dog,..... dog,.. a dog.”

Atsushi takes a deep breath and goes back to work.

Dazai abruptly stands up and walks towards your desk and crouches next to you.

You look to your left,” Oh, hi Dazai, how are you?”

Dazai grabs your hand, “ My sweet, sweet, belladonna,” he rubs your hand slightly with his thumb,” I had no idea you,” he takes a deep breath, “ you…”  he looks into your eyes, “ that you liked dogs.” he whispers.

“I’m sorry, what did you say Dazai?” 

“YOU LIKE DOGS!!”

You take a moment to take in his response, “ Well, dogs are nice pets, so yeah, I like dogs.”

Dazai stands up once more and puts a hand to his forehead dramatically and shuts his eyes, “ Even hunting dogs?”

Your face turns red.

“Dazai will stop bothering Y/N and get your ass to work!!” Kunikida yells to him, “And what's this talk about hunting dogs?”

“Should I say it or should you say it, Y/N?” Dazai smiles at you.

“ Hunting dogs a-are a good type of dog,” your face is still red, “They make for nice trackers and they are g-good company.”

“Yeah, I bet they make good company.” 

“ Alright that's enough, Dazai don’t you have other people to bother?” Kunikida tells him.

“Nope, I just want to talk to Y/N about her dogfriend.”

“Dogfriend?” Kunikida questions.

“Nothing to worry about Kunikida~kun”, He pats Kunikida on the back, “Everything is all covered here.”

Kunikida looks between the two of you, he sighs, “ Just finish your reports.”

After Kunikida leaves to go about his business, Dazai takes a chair and sits right next to you.

“So,” he puts a hand on his cheek, “you like dogs?” smiling at your red flustered face.

You carefully observed the man in front of you. He had this innocent smile of his that you would like to pinch at a usual time, but not now... He wasn't cute at all at the moment, no... maybe just a little. You carefully observed the curve of his lips, wrinkles around his eyes that were caused by his smiley expression, and last of all his eyes... The frequency of his blinks, the movement of his pupils, and the colors of his iris... You couldn't see a damn thing...

"It has been over 2 minutes dear, you have to make a decision now..."

"Shut up" you mumbled. You kept wandering your fingers between the two cards he held towards you. With a sudden move, you grabbed one, but you didn't pull it. You were expecting the tiniest of change in his eyes, an instant sparkle or doubt. But no, he wasn't even looking at the card you were holding, instead he was looking into your eyes, and there wasn't any change with him... Only his smile widened a bit more...

"Is it your last decision?" he asked.

"He must be bluffing, no he definitely is bluffing" you thought. "The card I am holding must be Ace, the pair of the card on my other hand... He is trying to making me believe that I am holding Joker, but I am holding Ace, I know..."

In an instant, you released the card you have been holding and grabbed the other quickly, turned it towards yourself. When you saw the ridicilous yellow, blue and red colors of dancing Joker; you felt like a bucket of boiled water poured down from your head...

"It's my turn. Mix it as much as you want love" Dazai chuckled.

You wanted to cry and kick the ground like a child but you held yourself. You and Dazai were playing one of the oldest and easiest card games of the time: Old Maid, with poker cards. The winner was going to choose the place where the other will treat them a dinner. The thought of free meal was enough for you to show your competitive side, but not enough to beat your poker-faced boyfriend...

You hid the cards behind your back and started to mix them. You thought closing your eyes while holding them towards Dazai, if you didn't know which cards you were holding, Dazai wouldn't be able to read your expression right? You gave up on that idea quickly, Dazai would mock you a lot if you have done that...

You decided you mixed the cards enough, and held them towards Dazai. Ace was on the left, and Joker was on the right. You frowned and loosen your brows a few times, you were trying to adjust your expression into a stern one. Dazai giggled at you "You are so cute love.." And without even hesitating he reached for the left card, but didn't pull it. You felt your face getting paler, your eyes were on Dazai's fingers that now were helding the Ace card. Dazai didn't move at all, you couldn't wait any longer: "If you're gonna pull, pull it now" You knew your voice was trembling with frustration, but you couldn't help it. There was nothing to do, it seemed like you have lost already...

When Dazai released the Ace slowly, your eyes widened. When he held and pulled the Joker, you couldn't help but let a scream of happiness. Fair or not, you didn't care.. Since the beginning of the game, Dazai pulled a wrong card the first time! None of his enemies would be able to make Dazai do that, it was only a power you held! A power that makes Dazai go soft for you and brings you the victory-

Dazai mixed the two cards behind his back and held them towards you again: "Dear, you know the game isn't over right? It's your turn..."

this man would make everyone lose millions on poker, but he would pull a very obvious Joker card to see you smile...
