From what we know Tails originally met Sonic after being bullied for having more than 1 and he stood up but in the movieverse Sonic left Mobius as a kid so what happened to his friends in classic version? I thought that Amy rose may have defended him, like in Super mario bros movie with baby Mario and Luigi and maybe he was a foundling as well and got adopted by his mentor which was professor E.Gadd who may be the one who invented the warp pipes, some power ups of later games and the blocks including from Sonic games.
