It wasn’t difficult at all to decide where the two of you would take your honeymoon. When you weren’t gonna be naked, Angel wanted you in sundresses and bikinis. You wanted him in linen shirts, and to feel him up in a club. Couple that with you both wanting a tropical environment, and Miami it is.

For almost everything you get, Letty gets something too. Neither of you wants that tantrum when you get back.

You fighting yourself to avoid the art supply store, and Coco not having it.

“I have so many supplies already, it’s an addiction at this point.”

“So? Get some more. It’s our week, we shouldn’t stress about shit.”

Coco bragging on your talents and successes to the art shop cashier when you checkout.

Finding unique liquor stores and getting tipsy on samples. It becomes twice as fun when locals, and other tourists alike, start discussing the Marfa lights with you, and you and Coco impress everyone with your ideas.

Being invited to a bonfire smoke session with the other El Cosmico guests when you get back.

Sketching Coco by the firelight, because he’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen in that moment, and now he’s officially yours.

The sex being on another level of intimate that night, because all day you and Coco have been engaging in your respective love languages, and it culminates in mutual need for each other.

The drive to Roswell being more tolerable for Coco, but he still misses his bike. Your excitement about AlienFest is so palpable however, he quickly forgets.

During your meticulous wedding planning, it was decided New Orleans would be the honeymoon destination. It didn’t hurt that you missed your southern roots too, even if you weren’t from New Orleans.

Traveling with EZ is a dream considering you’re both pretty organized, together people. He’s not afraid of flying, but you’re always a little nervous.

EZ being Best Husband™️ and soothing even the most minor of your stresses by turning your attention to the excitement of your trip and your new relationship status.

Teasing EZ in-flight won’t get you Mile High Club initiated, because he finds it much more entertaining to punish you by letting you work the both of you up, and making you stay that way for the duration of the flight. He’s got enough will power to suffer through it, because your soft whines make it worth it.

The airbnb is everything it was promised to be, and you’d appreciate that later, but all you can think of is your husband when you step through the door. That’s the other half of why EZ likes to leave you waiting. Your aggression and exclusive desire for him gets, and keeps, him hard.

It rains the following day, which is just as well, because neither of you are quite ready to stop physically expressing your love for each other. The day consists of ordering food, falling out of your clothes and onto each other, separating to read, falling back on each other, and quick naps.

Angel sending mocking texts in your Reyes group about how you’re trying to turn his brother bamma like you, only to stop when you threaten him with no souvenirs.

EZ and you taking responsibility for your own tour because let’s face it, you both know exactly what you want to see, and can plan a more satisfying tour for the both of you. You take turns deciding where to go next.

When it’s his turn, EZ picks an art museum, and can’t quit smiling about it. You think it’s because he picked a place he really wanted to go to.

“Babe, I have a surprise for you.”

“What?” your excitement always makes EZ’s heart race with his own.

He hands you the guide brochure he picked up at the door, folded to the section he wants you to look at.

“Faith Ringgold exhibit?!”

He hums and nods, grunting when you knock into him with a hug.

“Thank you for thinking of me. I love you.” you look up at him, eyes shining with unshed tears and he just kisses you, afraid he’ll cry if he says anything.

The two of you avoid the tourist trap spots for lunch and find a cute family owned cafe. You order for the both of you based on what you know about southern cuisine and both of your tastes.

You love watching EZ fall in love with the food as he keeps asking “Can you make this?” about everything he eats.

The two of you almost make it back to your Airbnb, but give into your baser urges after all the domestic conversation. EZ pulls you into an alley for a quickie, the two of you fighting to silence the other’s vocal expression.

You teasing EZ after that he’s more like his brother than he thinks. Him teasing back the two of you would’ve been caught and arrested if he was like Angel.

The following day is relaxed and less planned. The both of you getting thoughtful gifts for each member of your family, blood and otherwise. EZ scores major points for the gifts he suggests for your mom and dad, and you kind of want to jump him again.

EZ is glad you’re impressed, but it’s nothing to him. It all comes naturally because he loves you so much, and refuses to be anything other than the husband he knows you deserve.

It doesn’t look like they talk about me, but ever so often I think their chatter circles back to me somehow, and they point and wave and chatter in that cackle they call language. They never talk to me, never ask me to do anything. I’m free to do as I please, go where I want, but I’m sure they are lying to me. I have to leave tonight, or it will just be more of this. It’s already been over a week, several days after he said this would all be over. I think so at least. I wouldn’t be surprised if the old geezer lied about the days as well.

I arrived on a Thursday at least. I checked out from Sheraton in central Dubai Thursday morning. There are no taxes and the workforce is underpaid African or Indian guest workers on rotation, so hotel rooms are cheap. The rental car was cheap too, and gas is practically free. It literally comes out of the ground here after all. I had severely overestimated how long it would take to drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. It was just a straight highway and I had padded the time table way too much. I was getting close after just one hour, too early to check-in, so I decided to drive around a bit in the outskirts. Free gas, as I said. That’s when I saw the fucker.

The buildings were spaced enough that by the time you saw one, the last one was gone from view, so it qualified as a rural area. Mostly rocks in between though, so I don’t know why anyone would like to live out here. But there he was, the old man, dressed in his white dishdasha robe and picnic table cloth around his head, smiling and waving towards the car to stop. I pull up in front of the house and exit the car. It’s a decent house, none of the luxury on display inside of Dubai. I’ve never been inside anything but hotels, mega-malls and skyscrapers here, so I have no idea what the interior layout would be, but the size is roughly what a suburban family house for four would be back home.

He bows and asks me to join him for tea, in really bad English. I realize this is a bit off the beaten track for tourists, and perhaps this is a good learning experience for both. I’d love to see some authentic middle eastern hospitality, and I’d be happy to talk about whatever the reason for him to invite me. I accept his invitation and follow him through the portal. Although only one story it is quite high up to the ceiling. Interestingly we only pass through a sparsely furnished room and back out again into some sort of shaded stone garden in the middle of the building. It looks very lived in, much more so than the room we just passed through. Tables, chairs, potted plants, and hookah things. There he beckons me to sit down on one of the most decidedly western garden chairs.

He disappears back into the building and I have a look around. I guess all rooms in the building have a window into this central garden. That explains why the house had so few windows on the walls facing out, and makes total sense with all the sun they get here. The man is back with a small tray with two small glasses with amber liquid. He places one glass in front of me and takes one for himself, and without saying anything invites me to take a sip. It’s sweet and tastes of apple. I’ve had this kind of tea before, and don’t really like it. It’s not tea in my opinion, but it's drinkable and it would have had to be something far worse to offend this old man in his home. That’s when I blacked out.

I’m not sure how long I was out, but it was evening when I came to. I was lying on a thin mattress on the floor in one of the almost unfurnished, completely white rooms. It wasn’t cold, it never is here this time of year, but I could feel air touching my body. The sun is setting fast here, but the light made an orange square on the wall opposite to the high window. Murmurs and sounds of people having a pleasant time filter in. I still am not completely awake, going through different scenarios like fainting of dehydration, when I realize that not only am I completely naked, but I look very different.

Instead of my lanky, pasty body, I have a much bulkier frame covered in deeply tanned skin, in turn covered in thick, black body hair. I slowly sit up, mesmerized by what I see. The tan is perhaps a trick of light, but the bulk and the hair is not. As if there is any doubt left, the dick and balls make it clear this is a different body. As with the body both are thicker and heavier. Unlike my familiar dick this one is also longer, circumcised, and weird looking.

I ought to freak out, flail and scream, but it is all so surreal and unexpected that I either am in disbelief or shock. Slowly I get to my feet. My much heavier body compensated for and more with extra muscles. There are no mirrors in the room, or really anything but me and the mattress, so I have no idea what I look like. Very different of course, that much I can tell. I feel my head and my face. I have no idea what my face should feel like, but I have a beard now. I have a nose and a mouth and ears. The hair feels the same as always.

As I move my hands down I feel a small chain around my neck. A thin necklace with no pendant and no clasp or mechanism I can find with my fingers. It sits loose, but tight enough that I probably wouldn’t get my head through it should I try.

I don’t know what to do next. It is like the first room in an adventure game and I’ve just figured out the controllers. Just as I am about to exit I see a piece of white cloth on the white floor in front of the door. A pair of tight shorts that I put on right away. It looks obscene, almost worse than being naked. The white fabric stands out against the dark skin, drawing attention to the big dick and balls wrapped in tight cloth.

The house on the other side of the door is mostly deserted. Some furniture, but I suspect he lives alone and only uses a few rooms. It doesn’t take long to follow the sound and find a different exit into the courtyard than the one I entered through the first time. It looks the same as when I entered, but with a completely different feeling. Instead of the harsh sun everything is bathed in the orange glow of dusk. A few lamps are lit around the courtyard, and around a table sits the old man together with a few similar looking old men.

One of them sees me and utters a few Arabic words, and they all turn towards me. There is a short beat of silence and then they all burst into chatter. One of them is laughing, one of them continues staring at me, but they all appear happy. The focus shifts to the old man. They treat him like it’s his birthday or he just won a bet. One of them jumps up, spry for his age, and walks up to me. He inspects me, giving remarks back to the seated group. It’s when he prods me with his finger it feels like a spell breaks. Suddenly I’m not walking through a dream, but this is actually happening. I’m actually in this place, with these men, looking like this.

I tell him to stop. He just laughs. The old man waves at the table, inviting me to dates, harees, and flatbread. That for some reason angers me. Hunger is the least of my concerns right now. I demand to know what he has done to me. The men go from smiles to laughter. The angrier I get, the funnier they think it is. It’s only a joke, the old man tells me. It only lasts for a few days, he says. I storm back into the house and out the other side only to find my rental is gone. I quickly realize that standing in just underwear outside is not going to go down well with the police, or anyone, so I return back into the house to look for my clothes.

I don’t know what the rational thing to do is. None of this follows any reason. Perhaps I can squeeze into my old clothes, run away and then figure out who to contact. I freeze. The local police would probably be useless. The embassy would laugh me out. I might be able to convince someone back home, but I don’t even have a way to call them. All of that is true if I stay here as well.

I search the entire building, room by room. Despite the large house, it doesn’t look like the old man has much. The rooms are sparsely furnished, if not right out empty. A few rooms, like the kitchen and his bedroom, looks more normal. Nowhere do I find my stuff though, or any other clothes that would fit for that matter. We only share the same size in sandals and head scarfs.

I’m stuck, I realize, in a soft prison. Even if I could leave the house, I couldn’t leave the country. Even if I could leave the country, where would I go? Dejected I walk into the courtyard again. Some of the old men look my way, but largely ignore me as they talk about something. I sit down on a remote chair and watch them. I could kill them all. They are all really old, but probably not that frail. It would probably be a drawn-out fight with leathery, hard to kill old Arabs, but I’m sure I could do it. But that wouldn’t do me any good. I would still be here, stuck, and wanted by the police. A hard prison is worse than a soft prison.

About a third of that money would be allocated to health and human services programs.

But even with a Democratic supermajority in the legislature, these proposals aren’t a slam-dunk. “There are other factors that come into play, like interest groups with strong presence in the Capitol,” including Big Pharma and hospitals, said Shannon McConville, a senior researcher at the nonpartisan Public Policy Institute of California.

Under this system, drug manufacturers would have to bid to sell their medications in California, and would have to offer prices at or below prices offered to any other state or country.

Californians could lose access to existing treatments and groundbreaking drugs, warned Priscilla VanderVeer, vice president for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, the industry’s lobbying arm.

This proposal could “let the government decide what drugs patients are going to get,” she said. “When the governor sets an artificially low price for drugs, that means there will be less money to invest in innovation.”

Newsom’s drug pricing proposals build on his executive order from last year directing the state to negotiate drug prices for the roughly 13 million enrollees of Medi-Cal, the state’s Medicaid program for low-income residents. He also ordered a study of how state agencies could band together — and, eventually, with private purchasers such as health plans — to buy prescription drugs in bulk.

Homelessness

California has the largest homeless population in the nation, estimated at more than 151,000 people in 2019, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. About 72% of the state’s homeless slept outside or in cars rather than in shelters or temporary housing.

Newsom has asked for $1.4 billion in the 2020-21 state budget for homelessness, most of which would go to housing and health care. For instance, $695 million would boost health care and social services for homeless people via Medi-Cal. The money would fund programs such as recuperative care for homeless people who need a place to stay after they’ve been discharged from the hospital, and rental assistance if a person’s homelessness is tied to high medical costs.

A separate infusion of $24.6 million would go to the Department of State Hospitals for a pilot program to keep some people with mental health needs out of state hospitals and in community programs and housing.

Surprise Bills

California has some of the strongest protections against surprise medical bills in the nation, but millions of residents remain vulnerable to exorbitant charges because the laws don’t cover all insurance plans.

Surprise billing occurs when a patient receives care from a hospital or provider outside of their insurance network, and then the doctor or hospital bills the patient for the amount insurance didn’t cover.

Last year, state Assembly member David Chiu (D-San Francisco) introduced legislation that would have limited how much hospitals could charge privately insured patients for out-of-network emergency services. The bill would have required hospitals to work directly with health plans on billing, leaving the patients responsible only for their in-network copayments, coinsurance and deductibles.

But he pulled the measure because of strong opposition from hospitals, which criticized it as a form of rate setting.

Chiu said he plans to resume the fight this year, likely with amendments that have not been finalized. But hospitals remain opposed to the provision that would cap charges, a provision that Chiu says is essential.

“We continue to fully support banning surprise medical bills, but we believe it can be done without resorting to rate setting,” said Jan Emerson-Shea, a spokesperson for the California Hospital Association.

Medi-Cal For Unauthorized Immigrants

California is the first state to offer full Medicaid benefits to income-eligible residents up to age 26, regardless of their immigration status.

Now Democrats are proposing another first: California could become the first to open Medicaid to adults ages 65 and up who are in the country illegally.

Even though Medicaid is a joint state-federal program, California must fund full coverage of unauthorized immigrants on its own.

Newsom set aside $80.5 million in his 2020-21 proposed budget to cover about 27,000 older adults in the first year. His office estimated ongoing costs would be about $350 million a year.

Republicans vocally oppose such proposals. “Expanding such benefits would make it more difficult to provide health care services for current Medi-Cal enrollees,” state Sen. Patricia Bates (R-Laguna Niguel) said in a prepared statement.

Vaping

Dozens of California cities and counties have restricted the sale of flavored tobacco products in an effort to curb youth vaping.

But last year, state legislators punted on a statewide ban on flavored tobacco sales after facing pressure from the tobacco industry.

Now, state Sen. Jerry Hill (D-San Mateo) is back with his proposed statewide flavor ban, which may have more momentum this year. Since last summer, a mysterious vaping illness has sickened more than 2,600 people nationwide, leading to 60 deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In California, at least 199 people have fallen ill and four have died.

Hill’s bill would ban retail sales of flavored products related to electronic cigarettes, e-hookahs and e-pipes, including menthol flavor. It also would prohibit the sale of all flavored smokable and nonsmokable tobacco products, such as cigars, cigarillos, pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco, snuff and tobacco edibles.

Newsom has also called for a new tax on e-cigarette products — $2 for each 40 milligrams of nicotine, on top of already existing tobacco taxes on e-cigarettes. The tax would have to be approved by the legislature as part of the budget process and could face heavy industry opposition.

Tobacco-related bills are usually heard in the Assembly Governmental Organization Committee, “and that is where a lot of tobacco legislation, quite frankly, dies,” said Assembly member Jim Wood (D-Healdsburg), who supports vaping restrictions.

Away from the “hustle and bustle” of the sea swept shores of Egypt and Jordan there is another world of sand, completely different from over the mountains. And the ancient culture of the people, the Bedouin, reflects their surroundings in a way that only ancient nomads can. With a couple of different experiences in a couple different countries I’ve gotten the smallest glimpse into people as varied as any other.

  Sharm El-Sheikh

  The day of arrival in the city of Sharm El-Sheikh on Egypt’s North Eastern Red Sea shore was hot with and extra warm sense of welcoming. The sign outside the airport does say “WELCOME TO THE CITY OF PEACE” after all, and in Arabic, English, and Russian to boot, and in that order.

    With all of the industry that has been built up along the highways, the theme parks surrounded by many businesses on every street, it’s not difficult to imagine this place filled with people, talking, cheering, and laughing. But it was empty. Streets barren with an eerie silence. With the misunderstanding of increased danger in these countries, tourism has faltered, leaving once thriving areas deserted.

  That first early evening, hours before the sun would set, we were picked up at our hotel, SUNRISE Montemare Resort, picked up another couple, from Cairo, celebrating their recent marriage, and driven between 20-30 minutes out to a ATV (all-terrain vehicle) rental place. As part of the tour we already had paid for the rental, but the workers attempted the up-sell with professional photos of us on the quads. We opted out of that since our guide took photos of us with our phones, not the best quality, but it works.

    With true desert fashion sense, and face protection, in mind our guide also wrapped our heads in the scarves we brought. Covering all but our eyes.

    As a more experienced quad driver I followed the guide as we rode down a worn and crusty highway and then off into pure desert. I tried not be too close or even follow the same route as he rode because I was looking for the possible jumps along this rough, but well traveled road. Even as we made our way further and further outside “civilization” we could still see the locals, riding around the desert on their ATVs: motorcycles, quads, anything, just like we were.

    For anyone who might has been getting tired and/or experience too sore of hands to continue holding down the throttle. We had a rest stop in a Bedouin campsite. A family set up a small café where we could buy some tea or snacks, but since we were leaving soon we just enjoyed the shade on squishy pillows.

    After about 10 minutes we continued on to the final destination, a stage in front of a two level audience area complete with areas for hookah and tables for the Bedouin dinner that we would be served before the performances start. Like in the café earlier the colorful fabrics of the rugs, pillows, and tapestries stand out among the beige desert sand and mountain ranges.

  Before the sun went down we were taken to the top of a hill nearby were we could take photographs of the landscape.

    And then my mother and I then took our second camel ride of the trip. It was fully guided, we were kept on ropes the entire time, so sadly I wasn’t able to break out the camel or get her to go any faster than a leisurely stroll. Although riding slowly did make it easier to take pictures while riding.

    Once the sun had slid behind the western mountain range our guide, the couple, and my mother and I were relaxing on the cushions around the table drinking Bedouin tea, the best tea I’ve ever had. Dinner is called and the show begins.

    Dancers of different styles grace the stage, including: a belly dancer, a Tanoura dancer, and one man who danced with knives, swords, and even fire.

    Before heading back we walked away from the lights of the stage and stared deep into the night sky, identifying and learning about the constellations that glowed so brightly above our heads.

    As the night drew to a close we rode the quads back to the bus and eventually said goodbye to a few new friends.

Wadi Rum

  A protected area in southern Jordan with a long history of habitation and acclaim, not just for it’s natural beauty either, most would recognize the landscape due to it being the backdrop in two little known movies called The Martian and Lawrence of Arabia (and months after we left, Rouge One: A Star Wars Story).

  Around 13:00 we stopped for lunch at a beautiful, open air, air-conditioned restaurant. Just like in Egypt the colors, this time mostly reds, stood out from the washed out colors of the desert around it.

    My mother and I were both given the wonderful tea and the food was placed on the table in front of us. The dishes looked, and tasted wonderful, but I couldn’t help feeling a slight tinge of guilt. It was Ramadan, and even though my mother and I are not followers of Islam and therefore do not fast, our guide and the restaurant owners and workers did, so eating in front of them felt a bit callous (but we did anyway).

    With lunch over, I ran over to the horses that were saddled up and ready to ride. Of course I chose the younger one, that was said to be more difficult to control, but that didn’t faze me, my horsemanship lessons would definitely pay off.

    Making a large circle around and through a mountain range, at first the horses were stubborn at wanting to go any faster than a walk, but once we left the “trail” the horse I was riding was much more willing to leave the other two in his dust. We galloped across the land and with the wind rushing by me I hadn’t felt that kind of freedom in so long. Every so often the horse and I would slow to give the others a chance to catch up, or in the case of the longest galloping section both my feet fell out of the stirrups and I was forced to hold on only with my thighs (thank gawd I have always had mighty thighs). Continuing on the trek, we came to a canyon. Still riding the horses we made our way through the rough terrain, which was complete with large scattered bushes, a shallow river with a small waterfall, and collapsing rock faces. Maybe it was the increase of danger, but this was my second favorite part of the ride, after the loss of control while the horse was in its full gallop only 20 minutes before.

  Because time insists on moving forward the exploration ride came to an end, and now we would be going on another trip, further this time, in a car.

  While riding around the desert in the back of a covered truck we made periodic stops to get better views of the set pieces of those films and to simply take in the amazing rock formations.

      There was a point in which I wanted to climb up a canyon wall, but the guide wouldn’t let me. Even if I took off my shoes, we didn’t have any of the necessary safety equipment – boring.

    I, therefore, had to settle for climbing up rocky hills instead, still wearing my wedge sandals. As I climbed the rocky pebbles fell out from under me, so I had to sometimes use both hands to maintain my stability. Other areas were covered in sand, while this may look easier to climb to the untrained eye the sand was so fine that it would sink as soon as a step was made and the displaced sand would slide down the hill, so I stuck with the rocks I could see.

    From the top, the ‘Martian’ landscape was laid out ahead of me. The red sand was a bit less saturated than in the movie and small bushes had grown in random locations. This made me a bit upset; that, while filming, the crew pulled out every single bush to create the Mars landscape. They ruined the homes of animals that lived out there; they created a situation where too much weathering could hurt the future of the area. But they didn’t care, as long as they got the shot.

    We moved along, taking in the vast desert ahead of us, passing wild camels, and staring at bugs on the ground. Within the next couple hours we came to a semi permanent Bedouin site for another short break with more tea and a history lesson.

      Lawrence of Arabia, or T.E. Lawrence, actually lived among the Bedouin people here. Naturally they would choose this area to film when they made the movie, released in 1962. And unlike turning a landscape into another planet, here they had places were the real man stood, where he led the Bedouin peoples in working together to solidify their independence. The one camp where we stopped was not only home to T.E. Lawrence for a time just to be with the peoples we wanted to help, but also because it classifies as an archaeological site, which he studied.

  Being an archy myself I was fascinated by the petroglyphs on the canyon walls. They are so intricate and perfect that it’s hard to imagine that they are thousands of years old, the writing as well. I adore when people currently live among the ancient marks and highly respect it all as well. We can all learn from people like this, the feelings of harmony are both amazing and wonderfully overwhelming.

    Before we left we looked at the more modern rock carving created by the Bedouin people in the late 1910s for their Lawrence of Arabia, who was honored with the same title as a tribal chief.

    While we weren’t bestowed with such an honor, we had been welcomed into the lives of kind people, and were given a breif look into how they live. Then, just like the hero from a western, we left the camp, riding off into the sunset, to explore another day.

A Foodie’s Guide to the Elmwood Village

When I was younger, hanging out in “the city” meant we were going to Elmwood. In the early 2000s, it was THE place to be for cool bars, coffee shops and restaurants. With all of the new openings taking place around Buffalo these days, it’s easy to take Elmwood for granted. But there’s still plenty of exciting places to grab a bite or a drink. Here are some of our favorites, both old and new.

Thin Man Brewery, 492 Elmwood Ave This is one of the newest additions to the Elmwood strip, and it’s probably my favorite. The on site brewery has only been operational for a couple months but I’m already impressed with how great the beers are. The kitchen is serving some of the best gastropub fare this city has ever seen with the talented Chef Bruce Wieszala leading the way.

The Tokyo Burger at Thin Man Brewery

Vera Pizzeria, 220 Lexington Ave When they opened on Lexington in 2011, Vera single-handedly brought the craft cocktail scene to Buffalo. While plenty of cocktail bars have opened since, Vera is still one of the premier destinations for grabbing a drink. The small, intimate space is a great place to have a quiet night out with a really good Manhattan.

Kuni’s, 226 Lexington Ave If you’re looking for the best sushi in WNY, it’s found at this tiny shop next to Vera. Chef/Owner Kuni Sato offers diners some of the most unique and traditional dishes you’ll find in any local Japanese restaurant. Go there for something simple like a spicy tuna roll or exotic like Ankimo (steamed monkfish liver). Either way, it will be delicious.

SATO, 739 Elmwood Ave The beginning of the SATO empire started with their Elmwood Avenue location. This Japanese restaurant serves some of the best soup in WNY along with other pub fare like fried chicken and dumplings. Plus, they’ve got an incredible selection of Japanese Sake and beer if you feel like drinking something different.

Cole’s, 1104 Elmwood Ave Way before craft beer menus were standard at every restaurant and bar, Cole’s was ahead of the curve. Almost 10 years since my first craft beer, this historic bar near Buffalo State still has one of the best draft selections in the city. Combine that with a kitchen serving well executed Buffalo comfort foods (wings, burgers) and you’ve got a winning combination.

Mister Goodbar, 1110 Elmwood Ave Located right next to Cole’s and offering some of the best wings in WNY and a great selection of craft beer. Also a popular spot for live music or stand up comedy.
