How I styled my Sukajan Jacket

If you have been following me on my Instagram for quite some time now, then you’ll probably know that I love wearing sweatshirts, hoodies and jackets a lot, especially during gloomy or rainy seasons.

They are like my “life savers” whenever I run out of a certain style ideas or not that in the mood to dress up for that specific day. To some, wearing a jacket is just simply to prevent you from getting wet or to fight the cold weather outside. Other than that, jackets are also meant to worn when you want to create your very own fashion statement in an effortlessly way.

Here’s my entry of how I styled my Sukajan Jacket 

Where did the Sukajan Jacket originate?

The Sukajan Jacket originates back to post World War II when the American soldiers commissioned this memento piece after leaving the War in Japan. The “Sukajan” a Japanese name for the jacket remained a trend amongst soldiers throughout the 20th century.

The jacket is characterized by its cut and it is also similar to the well-known classic American baseball jacket, with its silky finish and the abundance of embroidered eastern and American motifs that usually has an intricate designs of cherry blossoms, birds and tigers.

What I’m wearing

Usually, when it comes to choosing the right clothes in my closet for that particular day, I prefer it simple, casual, comfortable and easy to blend in with any kinds of style. For this look I opted for a lighter yet striking ensemble and I think this sukajan satin jacket works well on my entire outfit. The plain yellow T-shirt inside the jacket gives a little 90s vibe with a black scarf on it. While the faded blue and white jeans, brown baseball cap and kicks are also good enough to achieve my desired look.

Good thing! The SM Department store has a numerous fashionable and affordable clothes, shoes and accessories for men with a bunch of different styles to choose from. It is also one of my favorite shopping stores in the country aside from those local and foreign apparel brands. As you can see in the past few years, they have been producing so many great-looking fashionable items that people are able to experiment with their different style genres. Thanks to The SM Store for making it possible for me to find what exactly I wanted to wear for our Baguio trip.
