4. I do use a cane! I very hardly decorate it since I rarely have the energy to or want to since my cane has to go with me everywhere and has to be able to handle rain, dirt, snow, bleach, dye, one time vinegar and baking soda, falling on the ground a fuck ton, etc. occasionally I'll put stickers on it but they eventually fall off

9. I wish I could say I have, any ableist encounters I had that were funny were repeated too many times either by the same person or by multiple people and became sorely unfunny and annoying.

although in hindsight I do think it's really funny that this girl who was in my counselor in training group told me "everyone's legs are hurting too, Jack" when I talked about how much pain I was in. I had been using a cane all week in front of her. I genuinely think she didn't believe I was disabled because I was able to walk (just barely) when in extreme pain

When I enrolled him, I was told surgeries, emergencies, etc., were covered. How disheartening to think we were covered during our time of need only to find out that we are paying for all of his medical bills. This was sudden onset shortness of breath caused by environmental allergens, which almost killed him, but they said because he is a frenchie known for nare and soft palette issues, he isn’t covered!
