For a fantasy/humanformers AU that might take some time to explain. Basically, @psyche-angel and I are playing around with an old AU we made, and because I’m me I made it magic. In this AU, the Decepticons and the Autobots have just made peace, and as a way to try and heal the rifts between their nationstates, they’re sending their best, brightest, and most connected to the same school so that they can hopefully establish connections with each other and prevent another war from breaking out. (No pressure.) 

Captions have the character names, worldbuilding rambling under the cut.

The uniforms aren’t terribly strict, surprisingly enough. People with wings (Praxians, Vosians, etc.) wear the vest option because it’s backless by default and easier to wear, and white dress shirts are the norm (but not required), but pants and skirts are okay as long as they’re a neutral color/pattern and aren’t too short. Neckties are technically required but enforcement varies based off of the school. 

Iaconians typically have longer hair depending on social status. Orion/Optimus, as the third in line for the throne (due to the war and circumstances beyond his control), has hair down to his knees. He wears it in a bun. Mirage, being a noble, has hair that falls down to the small of his back. Ratchet is also Iaconian, but he cuts his hair short for personal reasons and gets crap about it from certain parties.

Optimus’s legal name is Orion Pax, but due to a number of factors, such as everyone ahead of him in line for the throne being way older than him, he has a name used in Head of State/political functions; Optimus Prime. His friends still call him Orion. 

Seekers usually have long hair, no matter their gender. Before the war many Seekers kept their hair short due to social pressure, but the practice resurfaced during the war. The face paint is an older custom which gained popularity during the last years of the war. Some Seekers (and other fliers) have horns. (Skyfire is not a Seeker, hence the short hair. His wing type is different as well, and he flies differently.)

Crystal City is basically the academic center of the world, though since the War ended there’s been effort to make some of the Decepticons cities competitive. People from Crystal City would seem the most ‘normal’ to us in terms of dress and hairstyle, but thanks to Iaconian influence earrings are getting popular.

Polyhexians are cat people, basically. Polyhex was technically an annex of Iacon, but during the war they threw their lot in with the Decepticons. 

Tarns are a proud warrior culture, but in recent years they were controlled by Iacon, and were being drained of their culture. The war was tarted by Megatron’s mentor, the last King of Tarn (by blood, legally Tarn's native royal line is no more) killed the Senate. Megatron didn’t do it because he was a kid at the time. 

Praxians are unique among people with wings because, instead of having feathered wings, they have more insectoid wings. They’re all but useless for flying, but are still a source of pride for those who have them.
