EXPLORING TAGAYTAY:
Best 5 Essential Experiences in Tagaytay
by: Sareena Mae Talisay
1. The viewing of Taal volcano
Taal volcano is the biggest asset of Tagaytay that made it feel relaxing to view. Taal volcano is a large caldera filled with Taal lake, it is actually the smallest active volcano in the world with an elevation of 1,020 feet at its highest point (311 meters). Tagaytay, Taal Lake, and Taal Volcano are just a few miles from south of Manila.
2. Sky ranch Tagaytay
Sky ranch Tagaytay is a five-hectare leisure park that features exciting rides, games, food stalls and restaurants that is perfect for family bonding. Sky ranch Tagaytay also has a good spot for viewing Taal volcano which makes the park more exciting.
3. Zipline
Riding the zipline is a challenging way to enjoy and experience the lush surroundings of Tagaytay. But don’t worry because this zipline is not too high and not too long where you can still enjoy riding while viewing the beautiful surroundings of Tagaytay.
4. Picnic grove Tagaytay
This place if also perfect for family bonding. if you prefer on bringing your own food, Tagaytay picnic grove is one of the best place to picnic where you can rent tables, gazebos, or huts that will help you feel comfortable. Some spots in this place are blessed because they have a view in Taal lake, while the others spot are under the shade of trees.
5. Kawa bath
Kawa bath is a larger-than-usual metal wok that is used in cooking dishes for big celebrations, but in this place they used it for bath because it has many benefits such as relaxing, relieving the body aches and pains. It also makes the skin looking healthy and glowing. It is perfect for those people who really wants to chill and relax.

Here now at the airport waiting to return home to Cebu, but still hungover from the short yet sweet time I had in Tagaytay. 💜 These pics were taken right outside our room at Summit Ridge as a keepsake(that's the ferris wheel at Sky Ranch in the background) of a wonderful memorable work/pleasure trip. Truly grateful. ❤️ Ciao Tagaytay and Manila. 😊 📷 @vilmabolusa https://www.instagram.com/p/Cp4z-voJDWC/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

AMPING KANUNAY
It was my pleasure being a tour guide. Hahaha! Right after ng trabaho ligo agad tapos alis. Wala na kong problema sa pagpapa-alam and all.
Then after masundo sa airport nag lunch kami sa Giligan's. First time kasi nila doon kaya ang daming picture taking.
Ayoko mapagod bago mag work para may time pa ko matulog.

Sintâ by Chef Ariel Manuel is Our New Favorite Fine Dining Restaurant in Tagaytay
There's a new fine dining restaurant in Tagaytay that really impressed us and made our weekend trip all worth it. Sintâ is a charming and beautiful property where Culinary Artistry Meets Inspirational Views, especially with its fantastic landscape overlooking the majestic Taal Volcano and Taal Lake.
The Hungry Kat was invited to visit the new Sintâ restaurant a few weeks ago and it was a great way to escape the scorching summer heat in Manila. We had a leisurely Saturday drive all the way up to Sintâ which is located in a slightly different corner of Tagaytay. You can find it at 5385 Mystic Hills, Sitio Catmon, Ligaya Drive, which is closer to the Tagaytay Highlands and Picnic Grove side of the ridge. Just look for Sintâ Restaurant on Waze and you can't miss it. Traffic is actually much better here as most of the restaurants and tourists can be found on the other side near the Rotunda and Sky Ranch.
We were welcomed at the lobby reception by their very friendly and knowledgeable restaurant manager. Sintâ is an enchanting culinary haven helmed by the legendary Chef Ariel Manuel who is well known for his Lola Dad's and Bistro Manuel restaurants. Sinta emerges as a beacon of transformational dining, seamlessly blending sumptuous cuisine, captivating art, and awe-inspiring vistas to craft an unforgettable journey for the senses. Welcome drinks were served and we got to relax here a little bit after our long drive. Parking will not be a problem since they have a huge parking area right in front.
The place actually looks more like a hotel or resort lobby rather than just a restaurant. Formerly known as The Observatory Tagaytay, Sintâ brings exquisite art and food together to create a very lovely dining experience. It is open from Tuesday to Sundays from 10:00am to 3:00pm and from 4:00pm to 10:00pm.
What makes Sintâ different from the few other fine dining restaurants in Tagaytay is this majestic view. There are many casual dining restaurants in Tagaytay where you can just go and chill any time of the day. However, for those special occasions and important dates, the popular fine dining restaurants we know are mostly located outside the ridge and does not come with a backdrop like this.
One level down from the reception floor is Santâ's cocktail lounge. This al fresco dining area is a nice place to enjoy some drinks while waiting for your friends to arrive.
Sintâ's commitment to excellence extends beyond their culinary offerings to their meticulously curated beverage menu. They have a selection of handcrafted cocktails, premium wines, and artisanal spirits, thoughtfully chosen to complement their culinary creations and enhance your journey through flavors.
We ordered a few of their specialty beverages while enjoying the cool Tagaytay breeze. The Mt. Taal Sour (P320) is a signature cocktail that comes with a combination of whiskey, lemon super juice, tamarind, aquafaba, and aromatic bitters. It's a fruitier and more Asian version of the popular whiskey sour.
Another specialty beverage is the Nest and Mirror (P290). This one has rum-infused cinnamon white cacao, dry vermouth, sweet vermouth, orgeat, and cacao bitter. They also offer classic cocktails like the Aperol Spritz, Tequila Sunset, and Champagne cocktails. You can also have signature mocktails like the Pineapple Fresca, Cucumber Spritz, and more.
This structure is actually just the lobby and cocktail lounge. The main dining room is a bit further down the property. The garden can also be the venue for outdoor barbecues or other sunset events.
The main dining area is as gorgeous as you can get! But before we go down to the dining hall, let's explore some of the other areas around the restaurant.
What sets Sintâ apart is its commitment to curating a holistic dining experience, where every element - from the meticulously crafted dishes to the carefully selected art pieces adorning the walls - serves to stimulate the senses and nourish the soul. You can spot interesting art pieces all around the property and the restaurant manager will be more than happy to share the history and stories surrounding these.
Would you believe they even have hotel rooms right inside the property? For big events like weddings, Sintâ offers two big suites for the bride and groom plus their families. These come with panoramic views of Taal Volcano as well.
Now let's go down to the dining hall. You will immediately notice this elegant art structure at the top which is actually an inverted version of the lake and volcano. Isn't that cool?
You can find tables for bigger groups as well as smaller tables for intimate dates and gatherings. This would probably look so romantic and colorful during sunset.
We were also welcomed by none other than Chef Ariel Manuel who runs the kitchen at Sintâ. The restaurant is owned by PYC Foods Corporation which also owns and operates One World Deli, Pardon My French, Tokugawa, and more. PYC is an importer and distributer of high-quality meats and seafood, so there will be no shortage of premium ingredients here at Tagaytay’s newest dining destination.
From farm-fresh ingredients to innovative culinary creations, every bite at Sinta is a testament to Chef Ariel's passion for excellence and dedication to his craft. The menu at Sintâ showcases some of the classic favorites found at Lolo Dads like the Baked Oyster with Foie Gras (P650/pc). This was our first time to try this popular starter and we were really amazed!
These are big Hokkaido oysters baked with chardonnay cream reduction served on its own shell and placed on top of soba noodles. To make it even more impressive, a piece of foie gras is added to complete the set. It's an astounding combination of flavors that really shows Chef Ariel's mastery of French and Asian cuisines.
The Tartare (P1,420) is also one of the specialties at Sintâ. This is prepared live tableside with its brunoise of Angus beef tenderloin plus condiments and apple kimchi.
It doesn't get fresher than this as the server will grind the raw beef and mix it together with the ingredients while you watch. Sintâ might be one of the very few restaurants in the country that does this tableside. We loved the tartare as it doesn't even taste like raw beef at all.
Another appetizer we enjoyed was this Fresh Ocean Trout Scallopine (P1,300) and ceviche with radish kraut, soy jelly, mustard leaf puree and salmon roe. Sintâ gets its fresh seafood from the best regions in the world so you know that the quality of their dishes are really excellent.
For our mains, my mother in law had the Chilean Seabass (P3,340) which is baked with a caramelized unagi crust, truffle, potato terrine, and doused with a ginger and green onion sauce. The combination of seabass and unagi is truly a match made in heaven.
We also ordered a few items From the Grill. You can't go wrong with the Maine Lobster (P4,280) which comes with two pieces of Maine lobster tail (450g) served with vegetables and sauces. The lobster was cooked perfectly and was absolutely one of the best I have ever had.
Another amazing main course you can order is the Eye of Rib Eye (P2,770). The juicy loin of rib eye steak is topped with its sisig-like rendered fat, making it doubly delicious. Onion jam and anticucho sauce are also added to complete this unique steak dish.
If you love eating lamb, then you must order their Rack of Lamb (P3,590). This comes with three huge pieces of Herb de Provence crusted rack of lamb with melted garlic and Roquefort cheese risotto. The lamb is very tender and doesn't taste gamey at all.
To end our fantastic lunch, Chef Ariel served his specialty French dessert, the Souffle (P550). Unlike other versions, this one is a coffee-flavored soufflé with baked cappuccino meringue and vanilla crème anglaise. Then there's also the Declension (P550), a declined mango and mascarpone cheese “mille feuille” with berry and balsamic ice cream.
Sintâ Restaurant by Chef Ariel Manuel is now our new favorite fine dining restaurant in Tagaytay. The elegant property fuses art and culinary creativity from the moment you step inside the lobby until the end of your gastronomic journey. Add the majestic view of Taal Lake to the story and you have the perfect dining destination that will make the drive to Tagaytay all worth it. Congratulations to PYC Foods Corporation for another great new venture.

Love's Triumph: The Unexpected Blessing of the Best Birthday (Reaction to Personal Narrative of Bea Cassandra De Leon)
Her story: https://www.tumblr.com/3cssndr3/744519880939913216/the-best-birthday?source=share
The last time, I created an activity at school about biography, and I wrote about the story of Bea Cassandra De Leon. In her narrative, it was mentioned that she was afraid of her birthday because it was the day when conflicts arose between her father and other family members. However, the situation in her story turned out to be ironic.
First of all, it can be considered ironic because the title of her personal narrative is "The Best Birthday." I understand that she feared this day. When I first read the title, I felt as happy as a lark. The storm cleared; furthermore, the rainbow appeared, and the sun shone brightly. As bright as the day was, so was her joy. It's delightful that the unexpected happened.
At first, she seemed reluctant to get out of bed, go down to the living room, and greet her family. But a surprise bomb was waiting for her. She and her family decided to go out and head to Sky Ranch in Tagaytay. Additionally, they rode the roller coaster, visited the gigantic banana, and even her father played a game to give her a pink unicorn and a pink shark for her little sister.
It's heartening to hear that she no longer considers herself cursed. The curse turned into a blessing. Moreover, at the end of the day, amidst the laughter and the thrill of the rides, Bea realized something profound. She realized that love has the power to rewrite the darkest of fears into the brightest of blessings. As she looked at her family, their smiles illuminated by the setting sun, she felt a warmth in her heart that surpassed any fear or doubt. For in that moment, surrounded by love, she understood that true joy comes not from the absence of challenges but from the presence of love that conquers them all. And as she hugged her family tightly, tears of gratitude glistened in her eyes, knowing that this day, "The Best Birthday," would forever be etched in her memory as a testament to the resilience of love.
Therefore, remember that after the night, the sun will rise as well. Sadness may overflow on the way to the horizon, but it will always be released and showered with joy.

The Best Birthday
When I was a child, I was always scared, terrified even, whenever my birthday came by because my family was always in disaster during my most delightful but curse day. However, we my family and I moved here in committee, with you for my birthday disappears slowly like a dandelion.
It was a chilly morning of November thirty, two thousand and five, it was my birthday. Yet, the fear for my birthday was still lingering in my soul, it was a shackle that refused to let me go. But Despite that, I forced my body to get up that day. My feet dragged me into our living room, were asked my family is waiting for me. Dread filled my whole body, thinking it will be another hellish birthday. However, my parents happily announced that we will celebrate my birthday in Sky Ranch that is located in Tagaytay. Thus, here we are, in my family’s car, my dad driving towards Sky Ranch.
Fun was an understatement, it was the best, and if I say best, I mean best, BEST birthday of my whole life. When we arrived at Sky Ranch, my family and I scanned the area first period afterwards, me, my sister, and my mother go the rollercoaster. It was so fun and exciting! On the other end, my father was trying his best to win a gigantic banana in a shooting game. He spent three hundred pesos before he won. Then, he waited for us to finish the roller coaster, excited with his surprise.
My mother was so happy when she saw the gigantic banana (it was an airfield toy), and my father bragged about his talent in winning games. Later on, my father won a pink shark stuff toy for my sister and a pink Unicorn stuffed toy for me.
In due course, my family and I are on a restaurant, after that, it was time to go home. Needless to say, the gigantic banana made our lives hell because it won’t fit in our car, but despite that, it was the first birthday or i didn’t cry nor think that I’m cursed.

TAGAYTAY: Tila'y Nakaukit sa Paraiso
Kahanga-hanga, mahikal, at nakabibighani.
SOURCE: https://asianwanderlust.com/en/things-to-do-in-tagaytay-philippines/

Trip to Tagaytay
It’s been a while side I had a long ride. I missed riding a bike. When I was young, I really liked exploring things including riding bicycle. Riding a bike is like a life-is-a-roller-coaster-ride. Like life, riding a bike you will feel a lot of emotion. You will feel sad if you did not make it, will feel happy when you finally did it, will feel frustrated because you feel you can not make it, will feel excited because finally you’re close to your destination. Anyways, before we have a long ride, we will prepare our condition first. We will travel to closer destinations, cities, local travel spots. So, before we go to Tagaytay, we ride a bicycle to Mall of Asia (moa) twice a week. We traveled to Quezon Memorial Circle, Lamesa Dam Ecopark Quezon City, Antipolo City, Cavite City twice a week before we had a long ride. I have been to Tagaytay twice while riding a bicycle. First when I was with my team, and the next one when I was with my cousins. Before we left our street, we ate first. And we traveled from Manila to Tagaytay. The travel from Manila to Tagaytay was not that easy, because even when we are riding a bicycle we still must deal with traffic. Since we left Manila in the morning the sun has been kissing us, I feel hot, I feel my sweat is dropping so bad on my skin. The ride from Manila to Tagaytay is around 60km. It may be a tiring but enjoyable ride. When we are close to Tagaytay City the breeze is suddenly changing. Because as we all know Tagaytay is a cold city, Tagaytay’s average temperature is 24 degrees Celsius. Tagaytay is considered as one of the best places to retire to due to its cool weather, as well as its proximity to Metro Manila, to advance healthcare, and to recreational facilities. You can also enjoy the cool clean air of Tagaytay. Tagaytay has the ferris wheel in the Philippines it is the Sky Eye, located in the Tagaytay Leisure park Sky Ranch. We traveled Tagaytay to explore some places in Philippines, and to visit our relatives there. Tagaytay is no stranger to me. Because as I said earlier, I have a relative who’s living there, sometimes when there’s an occasion there we sometimes sleep there. But when we travel there while riding a bicycle hit differently. Tagaytay has always been the go-to destination for those wishing to escape the searing heat of the capital, especially in the summer season. In Tagaytay you will feel the cooler climate and the breathtaking view of Taal Lake and Volcano. So, I feel so happy, and excited because at the age of 18 years old I can freely have fun exploring Tagaytay.
We will never be this young again, do what makes you happy.
