Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Welcome to the working week! No walk or gym. Class begins at 10.00. Want to leave here at 8.00. Currently sitting in my study, attired in my blue towelling robe, enjoying my first cuppa of the day. Let me first talk about sleep. At about 11.30 last night, The Trouble and I woke up with a jolt. We were on the sofa and the TV was watching us! In a state of exhaustion, we’d both just konked out! I’m sure you’ve been there. Let me talk about sleep and the lack of it! Two of our grandsons were in the guest room double bed, while we’d erected a portable cot for little OJ in our bedroom. I knew he’d wake up at some point and I knew C would bring him into our bed, what I didn’t know was how many times he would headbutt me in the middle of the night! Obviously, he’s only a baby but my beautiful dreams were constantly being disturbed by this little skull cracking into mine! And, when he woke up at 6.40, Papa had to go and make his bottle. Anyway, not complaining! It was lovely to have the house full of kids. It’s a grandparent’s duty to give their children a break. Hopefully, we can do it again soon? The weekend started in fine fashion with another Friday night at the Forest Hill Funk Club. It’s so nice to hear such variety in a club. When you reach a certain age, you have many musical memories. Personally, I like a DJ set that spans both genres and decades. Thanks to everyone that listened to my radio show on Saturday afternoon and, to those catching up, I hope you enjoy Mixcloud. The start of The Letter M this weekend. Many thanks to my brother Teddy Abrokwa for doing so much research on me! The Soundboy Session is a podcast available on Apple, Spotify and You Tube, and our 90-minute interview covered every aspect of my life! Well, almost! Will post the link as soon as I have it. I think you’ll find it quite educational? Busy week ahead: marking assignments tomorrow, popping down to Hove on Wednesday to see my mother and brother, filling in grant application forms on Thursday, prepping for a new degree course starting next term and sorting my radio show on Friday.
