Today was the first day in a new monthly partnership with Nelson County Public Schools. I’ll be alternating monthly visits with at Tye River and Rockfish River Elementaries. Many of these students were enrolled in remote learning when they were developing reading skills in 2020-21. I look forward to learning more about what they like, and have already taken requests: Lego books, Dogman, and “cat books, like, a LOT of cat books.” 💕🚌😊

Couple turned a school bus into an exceptional home.
The put up several walls.
And made built-in furniture.
Looks like it has lots of good storage in the seats.
This is one of the walls. I have never seen a corner kitchen in a bus- they’re usually straight and very small. By doing this, they were able to fit in a stove w/an oven, sink, and upper cabinets. Love this idea.
Plus, look at all the counter space.
I don’t know why they raised the table, but it looks like fun.
This is cute.
And, look at the size of the shower and full size sink.
The toilet is in a separate space.
The bed looks like at least a queen size. Great job.

This is the first post on my first ever blog! I don't know what I'm doing yet, but I will be posting pictures and videos of my school bus conversion into my house!
I purchased my bus in March of 2017 for $4,200, and drove it for the first time from Granby Colorado to Santa Fe New Mexico! From there I drove it 1200 miles to Kankakee Illinois, where an old friend let me store the bus on his grandfather's storage lot. I kept it in Illinois for awhile while I started my project!

Musician Couple builds Beautiful Tiny Home Skoolie - 3rd Reno wows!
Meet Shane & Emily, who turned a school bus into a tiny home that doubles as a tour bus for their band Arbour Season. This was a big upgrade from the RV they lived in prior. But as DIYers with no experience, they struggled to get their bus conversion just right. Their 3rd time renovating was definitely the charm! They now have a beautiful skoolie that works exceptionally for their family of 4.

Skoolie Sunday: Alison Bracken's "Ophelia"
I'm going to start this series out with one of my favorite skoolies - Ophelia!
I just love the idea of having a front rack for their e-bikes. This allows them to get around easily whenever they stay somewhere for extended periods of time and can't bring a 40 foot bus with them. They have a little extending overhang thing that gives them a nice shady place to hang out outside, and cools down their kitchen as well.
LOOK at this interior! It's so well-done, aesthetically, and I think putting the kitchen in the front so it's just right there as you come in is a good call, even if it would mean a little more plumbing. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the side by side refrigerator, ouwww my back and knees. You can also see their little hydroponic garden for their herbs and veggies in the back!
This is their living room - the couch folds out into a mattress for guests (or the dogs) and is memory foam with a goose down cover. Super comfy! It looks like they have some storage under the couch as well.
The bedroom has two large closets. I like the curtains!
Looks cozy!! Not how I would personally design this though, I feel like it'd be hell to crawl out of if whoever's sleeping on the far side has to get out in the middle of the night. (Have I mentioned I love the wood paneled ceiling?)
I don't have any high quality pics of the bathroom but LOOK HOW SPACIOUS IT IS??? I am absolutely stealing this design. Goddamn. They've got a Nature's Head composting toilet too, known in the skoolie world as the ultimate toilet (regular flush toilets on a bus are naaaasty)!
A couple other pics because god, I'm in love with their interior design skills.
