I promised the big funky green dude beforehand, so here he is:

You can't really see it in that picture, but this guy is big. Like, here he is on my hand

Also, even though his name is big funky green dude, he comes in other colours. Like most green bugs I've seen in the area, there is the dry grass version

Well, that said, even though that's his name, scientists call them predatory bush crickets. Specifically, this is a Rhodes predatory bush cricket (saga rhodiensis), but that name is as mistaken as big funky green dude, because they can be found outside of Rhodes too (like all of these examples, but I double checked that).

I always wonder what this yellow thing on their backs is though. All that I've seen have it, although online I found some pictures without it, I don't know if they are the same species though.

Anyway, that's all for today. I think next time I'll send a collection of the different spiders I've found around.

Oh wow......very beautiful, very powerful. Extremely large and leggy.

Looks to me like this species has no wings or very reduced wings and those yellow things are the partially formed wings.

Ουυυ πάντα, κάτσε να σκεφτώ.

Λοιπόν, στη περιοχή μου υπάρχει ένας πεζόδρομος. Δε περνάω από εκεί πολύ συχνά, η γειτονιά είναι ήσυχη και έχει μόνο σπίτια, δεν έχει κάτι να χαζέψεις. Τελευταία είναι και ένας περίεργος γέρος που κάθεται σε μια ταράτσα και σχολιάζει δυνατά τον κόσμο, είναι ενοχλητικό οπότε άλλος ένας λόγος να μη περνάω. Βέβαια το κάνει πολύ σπάνια οπότε δεν είναι μεγάλο θέμα.

Είναι όμως καλή διαδρομή για ποδήλατα και περπάτημα μιας και τα πεζοδρόμιά μας γενικά είναι χάλια, οπότε που και που κάνω μια επίσκεψη.

Στον πεζόδρομο αυτό είναι ένα μαγαζάκι. Κάτι σαν ψιλικατζίδικο, δε νομίζω να έχει ονομασία και οι πινακίδες που είχε έξω έχουν σκουριάσει και ξεβάψει με τα χρόνια. Αυτό το μαγαζάκι υπάρχει όσα χρόνια ζω εκεί, αλλά ποτέ δε του είχα δώσει σημασία. Αλλά δε μπορώ ποτέ να το θυμηθώ το μαγαζάκι ανοιχτό και με κόσμο. Πάντα ήταν σκοτεινό και παλιομένο.

Το θέμα είναι ότι καμία φορά η πόρτα είναι ανοιχτή. Από τους γυάλινους τοίχους πάντα μπορώ να δω το ίδιο άδειο ράφη με 1 μπουκάλι υγρού πιάτων, εδώ και τόσο καιρό το ίδιο 1 μπουκάλι υγρού πιάτων. Υπάρχουν και άλλα ελάχιστα πράγματα αλλά μόνο 2-3, τα ράφια είναι άδεια. Νομίζω στο βάθος υπάρχει και ένα κλειστό ψυγείο αναψυκτικών αλλά δεν είμαι σίγουρη.

Πίσω στη ανοιχτή πόρτα, περνώντας υπέθετα ότι το μαγαζί ήταν τελείως εγκαταλελειμμένο και ότι η πόρτα άνοιγε καμία φορά με τον αέρα. Τα φώτα μέσα ήταν κλειστά, δεν είχα λόγο να νομίζω ότι κάποιος την άνοιγε επίτηδες. Έλα όμως που μια μέρα βλέπω κάποιον μέσα να βηματίζει. Δε ξέρω αν ήταν κυρία ή κύριος αλλά κάποιος ήταν μέσα. Και μετά άρχισα να τον βλέπω πιο συχνά. Δε ξέρω αν πάντα ήταν εκεί και δε τον έβλεπα αλλά ξαφνικά υπήρχε άτομο μέσα στο μαγαζί. Πότε δεν έβλεπα κάποιον να μπαίνει ή να βγαίνει, αλλά ήταν μάλλον το ίδιο άτομο μέσα.

Το έχουμε συζήτηση και με την κολλητή μου αυτό γιατί και εκείνη το παρατήρησε μόλις το ανέφερα. Αλλά ναι, πολύ κριπι και κανείς δε ξέρει τι γίνεται εκεί μέσα ή σε ποιον ανοίκει ο χώρος. Η πρώτη μου θεωρία ήταν ότι είναι το παλιό μεγάλο του φίλου του παππού, του Γαριδάκια (έτσι τον λένε επειδή ήταν περιπτεράς) αλλά δε νομίζω ότι ισχύει τελικά. Ειλικρινά μακάρι να ήξερα, ίσως κάποτε να μπω μέσα και να μάθω.

Δε ξέρω αν μετράει για κουτσομπολιό αλλά ήθελα να το μοιραστώ με το tumblr. Ή δεύτερη θεωρία είναι ότι το μαγαζί είναι τρύπα σε δύο realities και είναι σε μια κατάσταση όπου και λειτουργεί και δε λειτουργεί. Το αγαπημένο μου κρακ theory.
