Someone told us it's National Eyewear Day, so we thought you might like to see a pair of ours. This style of ski goggle was the fashionable way to protect your eyes on early to mid-twentieth century slopes. They came into use in the early 1930's and were still being sold when the modern sealed goggles pioneered by orthodontist Bob Smith became available in the late 1960's.

Made it both yesterday and today for the Lerch Festival! Last night there were fireworks and a lantern launch. Today I went back for a demonstration of the one-pole skiing that Major Lerch taught, high school rockers, and plenty of food served up by friends and acquaintances! I even bought myself a Lerch “hat,” to keep my ears warm.
