My favorite part is that apart from mass winning, this doesnât directly correspond to population. Connecticut has more people than Maine and Vermont combined and yet falls handily behind both. Even worse for New Hampshire which should have slightly more than Maine and significantly more than VT by population and yet is miles behind both in this poll.
Even if you redistribute the âwhy would you do thisâ votes based on population, CT and NH still canât climb past the Green Mountain State or Vacationland.
#as it should be by the way#at least as regards ct#apparently i cant say âno oneâ likes since at least 59 people do at time of writing#but ct is consistently clowned on my ma and ny#the one thing we can agree on lmao#as i partially insinuated with the official state nicknames above i suspect the reason for vt and meâs disproportionate success is tourism#non new englanders are more likely to go camping in maine or skiing in vermont#which makes them great destinations if you already know what you want to do#whereas the interesting parts of southern new england are not really the kind of the people would drive very far to see#stuff like museums and historic sights#and universities which people do travel a long distance for#but which donât inspire the same kind of broad positivity as leisure activities like the above mentioned#doesnât explain new hampshire underperforming though#i feel like nh is known for its mountains and lakes#i guess it doesnât have as strong of a vacation territory identity as the others#people probably think about libertarians as much as lakes as part of new hampshire#idk. i honestly dont know what people outside new england think of us#except that new yorkers think theyâre better than us#and the boston accent = comedy for many

I would love to read an imagine of TF141 and what theyâd do together with the reader on vacation and you can choose any destination of your choice! Hot topical to glaciers!
Thank you!
I could have gone spicy with this. The fact that I didn't is a testament to my self-control. While there is a little heat, most of this is just straight up fluff. It's all cuteness. Good feelings only. Pure comfort. Enjoy!!

John Price
The stars above you are white against the dark sky. The crisp, cool Pacific Northwest air sends a slight chill across your skin. A shiver passes over you, and you snuggle closer to John, seeking his warmth. He sighs contentedly, arm tightening as you press into his side. The swimming dock rocks softly, lulling you toward sleep.
Itâs quiet out on the lake. No lights. No noise. Itâs nice to get away from everythingâto spend time with your husband that doesnât involve home.
âIâm happy we came, John,â you sigh.
âYou like the cabin?â
You nod. âItâs peaceful.â
John's lips lightly press against your temple. "I'm happy you joined me."
Whenever John leaves for a trip to the cabin, itâs almost always a hunting or fishing trip with his team. Even they need to cool off after a mission. But John didnât ask them to come. He brought you to his favorite place.
His fingers lightly curve under your chin, tilting your head upward. Closing the distance, John greets you with a kiss that melts you down to your toes.
He smiles softly. âUp for a little swim?â
You laugh. âItâs a bit chilly. And itâs dark!â
John grins and then pushes up to his feet, removing his clothes until heâs down to absolutely nothing. His pale butt is on full display in the moonlight.
"John!" you protest, but heâs already diving in.
You sit up, startled, watching the rippling dark water. A beat, and then he resurfaces. âJoin me.â
With heat rising in your cheeks, you follow his lead. You do not dive as gracefully.
As you resurface, treading water, John cozies up to your, reaching for you beneath the surface. Your legs wrap around his middle, the two of you silently floating under the stars. The water is cold but you hardly care. John is warm, and so are his kisses.
They are cute at first, little peaks that become deeper, making your core clench with anticipation. The chilly water is a distant thing in your mind. All you know is John, and this moment, and all the days you have ahead with him.
Kyle "Gaz" Garrick
Itâs hot in Miami. The beach is packed.
But Kyle is uncaring of the crowd, too busy with the remote-control toy excavator you bought him just for this beach trip.
âHowâs the digging?â you ask, flipping a page in your book. You lounge under an oversized umbrella.
Kyle moves the joystick with his thumb. The yellow toy excavator picks up a chunk of sand and dumps it to the side. âIâm going to have the biggest hole on the beach.â
You nod, and lightly pat his shoulder, returning to your book.
There are a few minutes of silence between you before Kyle puts the remote control down and turns to look at you.
âWhat?â you prompt as Kyle continues to stare.
âIâm bored. Wanna go play mermaids in the ocean?â
Inserting the bookmark, you close your book and set it aside. âAbsolutely I do.â
John "Soap" MacTavish
âIâve never done this before, Johnny.â
âI know, love. Itâs okay. Iâm right here.â Johnny holds your hands in his. "Being scared is nothing to be ashamed of."
Before you is a mountainous slope covered in snow. Plenty of people are already on it, descending to the bottom on skis and snowboards. Some are lightning fast with others meander slowly. It looks funâreally, it doesâbut this is completely new to you.
When Johnny said vacation in the Alps, you didnât think this. You were imagining a fancy cabin with nice food, a hot tub in the snow, and steamy sex next to a roaring fire.
âIâll hold on to you. The whole way down. Weâll do this together.â
âYou wonât let me fall?â
Johnnyâs gloved hands squeeze yours in reassurance. âItâs just the bunny hill.â
âFor children. Iâm not a child.â "Oh, aye. It's for wee ones. But also, for newbies. Besides, I'll be with ya." He winks. "Won't let anything happen."
"That is not reassuring," you mutter, the snowboard wobbling slightly under your feet.
Johnny is the only thing keeping you upright. He grips you tightly, completely at ease in the snow.
âDo you promise?â you ask.
Johnny releases one of your hands to move his goggles into place. He lightly taps his helmet against yours.
âPromise.â
Simon "Ghost" Riley
"Her sisters are in Greece."
"You Brits like to steal everything."
Simon chuckles. "Throw a rock in here and you'd hit something that came from somewhere else."
He steps away from the statue, turning to move on to another. You follow him, trying to see what he sees.
âI wouldnât take you for the museum type.â
"Why?" asks Simon, arching an eyebrow.
You gesture at him, and Simon snorts. âFair point,â he replies, glancing down at himself. He looks more ready to jump on the back of a sportbike rather than tour a museum.
Simon moves on to a new statue, head titled slightly as he peers up at it. âI like museums. Theyâre calm. Quiet. I can take my time. No one needs me. No one expects anything from me.â
He says it so casually, but you hear the underlying sigh. There is something heavy beneath it. A weight he carries but you canât identify what it may be.
âI can be here for hours,â he murmurs.
âSoâŚno pub crawls?â
Simon attempts to stifle a laugh. âLove a good pub crawl. Johnny and I go on them all the time. He always thinks he can out drink me.â
âDoes he?â
âNever,â grins Simon.
He holds out his hand, wiggling his fingers. You slide your hand into his, the warmth of him chasing away your worry.
Simon pulls you in close, two of you leaving the statues behind.

đ Masterlist / AskMe!
Youâve always known youâre a city girl at heart, despite being born and raised on a small island. Although you look forward to visiting your parents at least once a year, youâve never seen yourself settling into the slow, quiet life of your hometown.
The island looks like a postcard come to lifeâpristine waterfalls, lush mountains, and white sand beaches, itâs the perfect vacation destination. Everyone knows everyone.
And while you love the sense of community that comes with it, youâre not a fan of how everyone seems to know everyoneâs business.
People tend to be nosy about everyone's life. You let Jake walk you home in the morning, and by lunch, everyone thinks youâre dating. By supper, youâre pregnant.
Life in the city has been everything y ou needâa good-paying corporate job that lets you work remotely, a cozy apartment nestled among great cafes, and a small but tight-knit circle of friends.
Despite the crowds, the city offers you something the island never could: anonymity and the freedom to just exist. Here, people are too busy minding their own lives to pry into yours, and that space feels more liberating than the island's open skies, ironically.
Itâs a nice place to visit, but never a place to stay.
So when your parents called one day asking you to come home and take care of their small gift shop while your dad recovered from an illness, you hesitated. First, youâd miss the coffee shops around your apartment because, letâs face it, they donât have those on the island. Second, you had no idea how long youâd be gone, unsure of how long it would take for your dad to fully recover and get back on his feet.
But you love your parents and would do anything for them.
So, you packed your bags, hoping a month would be enoughâafter all, thatâs all you packed for. You handed your apartment keys (duplicates) to your friends so they could check in for emergencies, then hugged them goodbye. You promised to stay in touch through video calls and regular updates, but deep down, you knew it wouldnât be easy. Between different work schedules and the islandâs crappy reception, staying connected was bound to be a challenge.
The moment you arrived on the island, you took a deep breath of fresh, crisp air. You always did thisâit was one thing you genuinely missed about the place. Your mom picked you up from the airport and hugged you tightly.
In a regretful tone, she said, âIâm so glad youâre here. Iâm sorry you had to come, honey. Your dadâs condition is getting worse by the day, and I just canât keep running the shop on my ownââ
âMom, itâs fine,â you cut her off gently. âIâm glad Iâm here, and Iâm sorry about Dad. Heâll be okay. Everythingâs going to be okay, alright?â
She had been so apologetic about the situation, knowing how much you disliked staying too long.
The first few weeks were a whirlwind. Your mom showed you the ropes, and while youâd helped out in the pastâmanning the cashier or receiving ordersâit was an entirely different challenge to actually run the gift shop. Thankfully, Namjoon, your childhood friend, your parentsâ âunofficial son", and also your co-manager, had been helping you a lot. Working with someone close to both you and your parents made everything feel a little more bearable.
Managing the shop was exhausting, but when you were told youâd need to process some paperwork at the town hall, you realized things were about to get even harder.
After a grueling one-hour drive, you arrived at the town hall, immediately noticing the long queue at the Business Licensing Office. It took a frustrating 40 minutes before your number was finally called. Approaching the front desk, you explained the reason for your visit and handed over your documents.
The staff scanned them and, after a moment, informed you that your documents were no longer valid and that you would need to restart the entire process from step one.
You told her, "This doesnât make sense.â
She glanced at it before replying, "Itâs a new rule from the mayorâs office. Iâm sorry."
A beat.
You couldnât believe this. This was ridiculous. You werenât one to make a scene, but it wasnât unreasonable to ask for a manager when there was a legitimate issue, right?
Before you knew it, you firmly said, âIâd like to speak to your manager. Or your head. Or whoever is in charge of this department. Right now.â
The poor girl eyes widened with anxiety. âThis is the process, maâam. Iâm sorry.â
âI understand,â you said, holding your ground. âBut I still need to speak to someone in charge.â
She left and went to the door behind her. After a few minutes, she got back and told you to follow her inside the room.
When you step into the room, you see a man with a dark hair behind a massive desk, his attention absorbed by a mountain of paperwork. The sound of your footsteps barely registers as he flicks his gaze up briefly, then returns to writing, his face impassive.
"Please, sit down. I'm Min Yoongi, the head of this office. How can I help you?" His tone is firm but detached, like he's got somewhere else to be, like you're an interruption heâs forced to deal with.
You take a breath, steeling yourself, and sit across from him. "I understand you have a new process in place, but this doesnât makes sense and its making everyoneâs lives difficult," you say, voice steady but the frustration you've been carrying slipping into your words.
He doesnât even look up. "Could you elaborate on which part of the new process is making everyoneâs lives difficult?" His voice is flat, uninterested, as he continues to scribble.
You clench your jaw. "Your staff told me I need to go back to step one. When was this new process implemented, and why wasnât anyone informed sooner?â
âThis new rule is from the Mayor's office,â he replies, still focused on his paperwork, his tone detached. âIf you have a problem with it, you can take it upstairs.â
His words hit you like a slap in the face. "No," you snap, leaning forward. "You are the head of this office, right? Then you take it upstairs." Your voice cracks with barely contained anger.
His eyes flick to you for a split second, then back to his papers. "Iâm just following orders from above."
"Just blindly following orders? Even when theyâre nonsense?" Youâre seething, barely keeping it together. "Do you swallow whatever they feed you without question? No backbone at all?" Words spilling out before you can stop them.
This time, you have his attention. He sets his pen down, finally looking at you. His gaze is sharp, amused, as though heâs studying you.
"I'm sorry, I didnât catch your name," he says, his voice almost calm, like heâs trying to reset the tension in the room.
"YN," you cut him off, not in the mood for pleasantries. Youâre done with the small talk. "Letâs cut to the chase."
YN," he repeats slowly, almost savoring your name. "As I mentioned earlier, this new rule originates from the Mayor's office. It has been enforced by higher authorities, and unfortunately, it's beyond our control."
"But does it make sense to you?" You almost hiss the words. You are so frustrated you feel the heat in your ears. "If it does, then Iâll walk out of here and do whatever bullshit youâre telling me, but I need to know if it makes sense to you."
His gaze doesnât waver, but something flickers in his eyes. "It doesnât," he admits, his voice low. "But what I think doesnât matter. My hands are tied here. There's nothing we can do. Trust me, we tried."
"So, you know itâs nonsense, but you still follow? And you call yourself the head of this department?" You feel acid in your throat. Your words burn.
"I am," he says, his voice suddenly colder. "Until the end of the week. After that, someone else will take over. You can come back next week and maybe get a different answer."
The indifference in his voice is like a slap. You stare at him, your mind spinning. Is this a joke? The sheer incompetence in this place is maddening.
You feel the anger rise. Before you can stop yourself, the words burst out.
"You know what?" You glance at the nameplate on his table facing you. "Min Yoongi? Suck a dick!"
You stand up, your pulse racing, and storm toward the door. But before you step out, you turn back, rage flooding your chest, and you spit the final words. "And choke on it."
You donât wait for a response. You slam the door behind you, the sound echoing down the hallway, your heart still pounding, your hands trembling with the anger.
Min Yoongi is a sensible man. Always the voice of reason, with a clear head on his shoulders. Heâs able to see every side of the story and offer solid advice when it counts.
And that's exactly why he's laughing nowâlike a damn madmanâbecause his staff is still standing there with her mouth hanging open after you stormed out. And here he is, laughing.
It was almost as if a whirlwind had just swept through his office. He cocked his head, still trying to wrap his mind around what had just happened. He was caught between admiration for your boldness and disbelief at your audacity.
But to be fair, he couldâve been nicer when he was talking to you. He couldâve put on a more customer service-y tone, you know? But honestly, he was just done. Done with repeating the same damn thing over and over this week.
When he was first told about the new process, he went to the mayor and laid it outâhow ridiculous it was, how they needed to delay it, give people time to adjust. Just like you said.
But if there's one thing working in government taught him, itâs this: You canât stop a system built on corruption and incompetence. You can delay it, maybe make it more palatable for people, but you can never truly change it.
And thatâs what he did. He tried to delay it, but the changes were final, along with many other decisions in the town hall. Thatâs why he resigned, and this week is his last.
Because honestly, they can all suck a dick and choke on it.
You went home that night and told Namjoon about everything that went down. He was wide-eyed the entire time, laughing at your boldness.
He offered to take care of the paperwork for you, especially since he knew almost everyone in town. You thankfully accepted, but you'd have to manage the shop alone while he handled it.
After a stressful week, you decided to go with Namjoon to a beach party to unwind. It was a cozy little bar with soft lighting and a bonfire. The moment you stepped in, you felt your stress melt away, the sound of music, laughter, and chatter filling the air. It had been so long since you allowed yourself to just relax.
As you talked to Namjoon and his friends, you caught sight of someone across the room. Was that⌠The guy from the town hall? What was his nameâMin Yoongi?
He was sitting at a table in the corner, surrounded by friends, his eyes locked on you with a smirk that made you want to wipe it right off his face. He was wearing an oversized short-sleeve shirt with a tropical leaf print, paired with a black undershirt and accessorized with silver necklaces and bracelets. Ok??? Why he kinda look⌠hot??
Nah, you shook your head. It was just that you hadnât been with anyone in a while, plus you were ovulating. You quickly pushed the thought away.
He remained looking at you as he drank from his highball glass. You squinted your eyes at him in mockery, then rolled them.
Childish? Yeah, but you didnât think youâd ever be friends with him. Freaking rude!
But Yoongiâs gaze didnât leave you. He watched you talk to others, sipping on his drink. His mind went back to that moment in his office. That filthy mouth.
Thereâs a town fair this weekend, so you decide to close the shop and finally experience it. Youâve never had the chance before, and you're excited.
You head to the town with Namjoon and wander through the bazaar, checking out every stand. The town is alive with excitement and vibrant colors, and you can't help but feel joy.
You wore a short white sundress, feeling the warm breeze against your skin. Youâd bought flowers from one of the stands, excited to give them to your dad, and as you strolled with Namjoon, ice cream in hand, you couldnât help but feel the energy of the fair all around you.
Then, you spotted him.
Again.
It's a small town, after all.
Min Yoongi. Casual in a black tee, jeans, and a damn man bun. His hair tied up like that made you feel warmer than you should. He was strolling with his friends, laughing and flashing that gummy smile, looking effortlessly cool and youthful. But then, his eyes met yours. The smile shifted, twisting into a lopsided, cocky grin.
He gave you a once over and you shot him the same look and rolled your eyes.
Heâs annoying.
Heâs hot.
Yep, you are definitely ovulating.
The night came, and after giving your dad the flowers and setting aside the things you bought from the bazaar in the corner of your room, you head back to the fair with Namjoon to enjoy the festivities.
The town fair was already beautiful in the daylight, but when night fell, it transformed into something even more breathtaking. Lights twinkled like stars and the decorations danced with colors. It felt as if youâd stepped into a fairy tale.
You couldnât help but admire the effort everyone put in to make this happen.
Namjoon had gone off to grab more drinks for you, but he still hadnât come back. He was probably swept away or cornered somewhereâbro couldnât help himself when given the chance to yap. Left alone in the corner, you absentmindedly sipped from your red cup, lost in the festive buzz around you.
Then, you heard a voice. âI like this look on you.â
Youâd recognize that voice anywhere. That deep, almost raspy voice, slow drawl, lazily dragging out each word. Like someone whoâs drunk, but somehow his words are clear.
Ugh. Min Yoongi.
So you turned, eyebrows raised. âWhat look?â
âMouth shut.â He said, settling beside you, sipping his red cup, eyes scanning around.
You rolled your eyes. âWhat do you want?â
âSeems like your tall friend left you.â
âMind your business.â
âI am.â His gaze lingered on you, scanning your face.
You narrowed your eyes. âFor someone who didnât have much to say last time, you sure talk a lot tonight.â
He raised an eyebrow. âFor someone with a lot of filth to say, youâre pretty stingy with words tonight.â
You sigh as you face him. "You know, I kinda like that look on you, too."
He smirks, that lopsided, cocky grin spreading across his face, like he already knows what you're trying to say. "What look?"
You lean in, your voice low but dripping with mockery. "Mouth shut."
You couldnât keep your mouth shut. You tried to cover it, but good lord, you just couldnât. Because Min Yoongi is devastatingly good with his tongue.
After the heated back-and-forth in the open field, a quiet, simmering tension lingered between you two. Then, everything blurred. The next thing you knew, he was striding toward his car, parked far from the light, hidden in the shadows. Without a second thought, you followed him. Every step was deliberate, charged with intent.
Now, his face is buried between your thighs, your legs draped over his shoulders as you both occupy the cramped space of the backseat. You donât know how you ended here. All you know is that your dress barely clings to you, bunched up around your stomach, leaving your chest exposed, nipples hard and sensitive from all his sucking.
Your panties dangle desperately from one foot as Yoongi devours you with all his might.
His tongue is relentless, lapping at your folds like a man on a mission, his grip on your hips so tight youâre certain itâll leave bruises. Heâs so incredibleâso fucking incredibleâthat your mind spins. Sure, youâve been eaten out before, but this? This is justâ
âOh my g-god!â Your fist tangle in his dark, silky hair as you grind against his mouth, desperate for more. He chuckles, the vibration against your core sending a shiver down your spine.
âSo fucking sweet,â he murmurs, his breath warm against your slick skin before flattening his tongue over your clit. The pressure makes you buck your hips and moan, your attempt to control your sound failing miserably.
âF-fuck, Yoongiâholy shit,â you gasp, as he slides his middle finger inside you, curling perfectly upward, his lips never leaving your clit as he sucks and licks with maddening precision.
He starts slow, teasing, and your legs tremble with overstimulation.
âYeah? That feel good, huh?â he rasps, his hooded eyes locked onto yours.
You canât form a coherent response, his name spilling from your lips between moans and profanities.
When he adds a second finger, it has your head tilting back, a loud moan escaping as he pumps into you steadily, his tongue working in tandem with his fingers. Each curl, each flick, drives you closer to the edge, and youâre completely at his mercy.
âOhh god, fuuuckâIâmmmngh close,â you mewl, your legs trembling as your fingers tighten in his hair.
He doesnât stop, doesnât even falter, just lets out a low, satisfied laugh as he licks up the slick dripping from your center. His fingers pump into you faster now, each thrust hitting that spot, and the knot in your core coils tighter and tighter.
âGonna come for me?â he asks, voice husky and teasing.
You nod frantically, your breath hitching, unable to force the words past your lips.
âI asked you a question,â he growls, and gave you a sharp slap to your cunt.
âY-yes! Fuck, please!â you cry, your voice breaking. This motherfucker. But holy shitâthe sting makes you gasp, and before you can process the sensation, his tongue is back on your clit, relentless and unforgiving.
And then it happens. His fingers pump faster, deeper, curling just right, and with one last flick of his tongue, you shatter. You come hard, your body arching off the seat, thighs trembling uncontrollably as your climax takes over your body.
You havenât fully gathered your thoughts when his lips crash back onto yours, and suddenly, youâre tasting yourself on his tongue. The kiss is deep and messy and before you know it, heâs pulling you up to straddle him.
Thatâs when you realizeâheâs still fully clothed. The contrasting sensation of his rough jeans against your bare thighs, while youâre so exposed and undone, is making you want more.
His tongue leaves your mouth to trail along your jaw, hot and wet, before settling on the sensitive spot of your neck. He sucks and licks, his hands palming your breasts, thumbs circling your nipples, and you arch into his touch. Soft moans escape you as the heat pools more and more between your legs.
Your shaky hands reach for his belt, undoing it as he bucks his hips up to help you strip him. The moment his pants are out of the way and your wet, sensitive folds brush against his hardness, you instinctively grind along his length. The low hiss that escapes him is almost feral.
âFuck,â he groans, his voice strained. âYouâre gonna make me come like this.â
His head falls back, his eyes fluttering shut as his jaw clenches. His grip tightens on your waist, guiding your movements. You can feel every inch of his hardness pressing against your soaked core, and itâs almost too much. The heat, the frictionâitâs unbearable. You grind against him with ease, your slick making each movement effortless, drawing shaky breaths from his chest.
The air is thick with the sound of your panting breaths and the faint creak of the car seat beneath you. Yoongi shifts just enough to reach for something, his movements deliberate. Then, thereâs a pause, followed by a low, frustrated groan.
âFuck,â he mutters. âI ran out of condoms, babe.â
Your body hums with heat, desire drowning out all reason. The words are out before you think.
âThen I want you to fuck my throat.â
His lips twitch into a crooked smirk, that infuriating cockiness flashing across his face as he sinks back into the seat, âYeah? Thought youâd never ask.â
Without hesitation, you slide off the him and onto the floor between his legs. The space is cramped, your knees pressing against the unforgiving surface, but none of it matters. You need him. He adjusts, settling deeper into the seat, giving you more room as he stares down at you.
âFuck,â he groans, his voice dropping an octave, his dark eyes following your every move. âLook at you. Knew youâd look so good on your knees.â
You donât respond. Instead, you reach for him, wrapping your fingers around his cockâthick, heavy, and already leaking. Pre-cum glistens at the tip, catching the faint glow from a distant streetlight outside the window. So big, so pretty, and you canât help but admire it before giving it a slow, deliberate pump.
âHoly shit,â he breathes, head falling back for just a moment before his hooded gaze snaps to you again. His hand finds its way to your hair, fingers tangling through the strandsânot pushingâyet.
You flick your tongue against the head, tasting the salt of him, and his hips twitch in response. Slowly, you take him into your mouth, inch by inch, letting him stretch your lips as you hollow your cheeks. A shaky curse falls from his mouth, his grip tightening slightly as you take him deeper.
âThats it,â he hisses, voice rough and dripping with disbelief. âKnew that mouth would feel fucking perfect.â
You hum around him, sending vibrations down his length, and a strangled groan rips from his throat. His hips jerk forward instinctively, and you glance up at him through your lashes, teasing as you pull back just enough to swirl your tongue around the tip.
âDonâtââ he chokes out, jaw clenching tight. ââfucking tease me right now.â
Your smirk is fleeting, because youâre already sinking back down, taking him deeper. You relax your throat, breathing through your nose as he fills your mouth inch by inch until he hits the back. His control finally snaps.
âGoddamn it,â he grits out, his voice strained. His hips roll forward, slow at first, as his hand holds your head steady. You let him take control, let him use you the way he needs. His movements grow harder, faster, fucking into your mouth until tears prick at the corners of your eyes and spit pools at the sides of your lips.
âYou like this, huh?â he growls, eyes locked on you as your nails dig into his thighs for balance. âFucking your face, letting me use that pretty little mouth?â
The words make your core throb, heat pooling between your legs. You gagged when he thrusts deeper, pushing your head down and holding you there. Tears streak your cheeks, your throat stretching as he groans, his voice rough and unrestrained.
âLook at you,â he murmurs, gaze dark and primal. âSo pretty for me. Choking around my cock like a filthy little slut.â
His words make you moan around him, sending a fresh jolt of pleasure through his body. His grip tightens, his hips stuttering as his breathing grows ragged and uneven.
âBabyâshitâIâm gonnaââ
With one final thrust, he slams you down onto him, his cock pulsing as he spills into your throat. A guttural groan rips from his chest, his body trembling, shuddering through his release. You take everything he gives you, swallowing every drop as he holds you there, panting hard.
When he finally lets go, you pull back, wiping the corner of your mouth with the back of your hand. Your lips are swollen, your cheeks streaked with tears, and you look up at him with a smug little smirk.
Yoongi leans back against the seat, his chest still heaving as he catches his breath. A dark, breathless chuckle escapes him, and his fingers find their way to your face, gently wiping away your tears and fixing your messy hair lazily.
ââSuck a dick and choke on it,â huh?â he murmurs, that cocky grin plastered across his face.
You roll your eyes, but you let him pull you up. He helps you to your knees, his hands surprisingly gentle as he tucks himself back into his pants and you adjust your clothes. You both make a hasty effort to smooth your hair, stealing quick glances out the window to make sure no one saw.
Once youâre both settled, Yoongi leans in, a cocky smirk playing on his lips. "Iâve got condoms at home, you wanna see?â he mutters, eyes glinting with mischief.
Exhausted, you roll your eyes again and flash him a playful grin.
You check your phone, and you see three messages from Namjoon.
Joonie: Wru? I got cornered by some friends Joonie: Yo! Cant find u! Joonie: Jimin saw u go with Yoongi to his car??? Are u guys fucking???
You almost choke on your own saliva when you read the third one.
Shit. This Min Yoongi guy is definitely going to be trouble.

Prologue:Â
âYou guys arenât going to believe this,â Jeonghan says as he enters the main area of the flat he shares with his brother and two best friends.
Three sets of eyes turn to him, and itâs Joshua who takes a shot in the dark and asks, âDid you get chlamydia again?â
âAish, fuck off,â Jeonghan picks up a pillow to launch at his brother, âI just got off the phone with mom you idiot.â
âOuch, since when are you telling mommy about your STI results?â Seungcheol teases, earning himself a pillow as well, that he easily bats out of the air.
âTell us,â Mingyu urges seriously, âwhat did your mom say?â
âOnly that our new step-sister decided to join us for the destination wedding, super last minute,â Jeonghan explains, taking a seat next to the youngest and sweetest of his friends.
âDid your mom tell her that they already gave up the cabin?â Seungcheolâs heart drops to his stomach, thoughts of powdered snow and skiing swirling on the periphery of his mind.
âFuck if I know,â Jeonghan shrugs. âShe sounds like a bit of a bitch if Iâm being honest- sorry Gyu, but it looks like youâll be giving up your bed.â
âWeâre sharing a cabin with her?â The maknaeâs jaw drops.
âWell sheâs definitely not staying with us,â Joshua stiffens in his seat, âI donât know what weird step-sibling porn youâre into Gyu, but weâre not that kind of family.â
âListen,â Seungcheol leans forward, eager to keep the peace, ânone of us have met her before- but your mom really likes her dad- letâs just hope sheâs as nice as he is⌠I really doubt sheâs a bitch. If it comes down to it, I can give up my bed, thereâs a pullout in the cabin too, right? Weâll make it work.â
The glances all four men exchange betray how unsure they all are, and Seungcheol only wishes he was as positive as he makes himself out to be.Â
1: Thursday - Arrival
âY/n! You made it!â your dadâs excitement should be contagious, but as you haul your suitcase into the lobby of the ski resort, youâre much too exhausted to mirror his attitude.
In fact, youâd bet you look exactly how you feel; done with this vacation before itâs even started.
Despite this, you accept the hug from your dad, trying to relax a little before he lets you go again. âWas your flight very long?â
âToo long,â you sigh, taking a deep breath before returning his question with âand you?â
âToo long,â your dad laughs. âBut you can rest easy now, the hard part is over.â
Is it?Â
âIâm so excited for you to meet Suelki,â he continues, âand her two sons.âÂ
âIâm excited too,â you really force a smile this time, trying your best to look sincere.
âGood,â your dad nods, beginning to lead you through the resort. âSo listen, this trip is kind of like my honeymoon- so we really donât expect to be seeing that much of you- Suelki and I have a suite in the actual hotel itself, but I think I mentioned to you over the phone that we booked two of the rustic cabins-â
âYeah, you mentioned that,â your grip on your suitcase handle tightens.
âBecause you originally said you wouldnât be coming, we gave the second cabin up to Suelkiâs boysâ roommates- and unfortunately, the entire resort is booked up this week, so we couldnât get you your own room.â
âRight-â Heâd mentioned something along these lines during your quick phonecall when youâd changed your mind about coming on the trip, and youâre eager to see what fix he has for this.
âEach cabin had a pullout though, so youâll be staying in one of them, and whether itâs with Suelkiâs boysâ or their friends, I really hope you use this trip to get to know your new step brothers.â
Your mouth feels dry, heart jittering in your chest at the concept of sharing a cabin for a week with two boys-Â
âThe wedding is on Saturday,â your dad and you have reached a door leading outside; icy air hits your face when he opens it. âAnd the cabins youâre looking for are the last two down this road here- cabin 6 and cabin 7. Just follow the string lights-â
âAre you-â you swallow. âYouâre not going to take me out to where Iâm staying?â You tighten your grip on your heavy luggage, eying the snowy path.
âSorry darling, but your plane was late, and youâve arrived at a bad time- Suelki and I have massages scheduled in-â he checks his watch, âten minutes? I really have to go- but youâre a strong, capable girl, youâll find the cabins no problem.â
This is exactly the type of behaviour from your father that youâre used to.Â
Part of you had expected something to be different- youâd been hoping that the wedding jitters would make him more inclined to be compassionate to you- but it looks like heâs as intent on letting you go about it yourself as heâs ever been.
After your long flight, and now this- youâre really questioning if you should have come on this trip at all.
2: Thursday - Arrival
âJoshie, come look at this,â Jeonghan urges, holding his tea tighter while gazing out the small cabin window.
âWhat is it?â his brother sighs, putting down his book but remaining seated on the couch.
âSome girl is dragging her suitcase up the path.âÂ
He canât help but snicker. With the road covered in snow for the winter season, accessing the cabins isnât the easiest task in the world.Â
Having been here before, the brothers had packed accordingly, and carrying their duffles had been substantially easier than the struggle Jeonghan is currently witnessing.Â
âOh shit.â
âWhat?â Now Joshua stands up.
âSheâs coming to the door- shit-â Jeonghan pulls away from the window roughly, and hot liquid spills over the edge of his mug, making contact with his fingers. âShit!â he shakes his hand out-
âMust be the step sister?â Joshua suggests, ignoring the elder man tending to his reddening skin.Â
âMust be,â Jeonghan hisses, putting his tea down just as thereâs a knock on the door.
The elder of the two takes a seat on the couch, pulling his hoodie sleeve down to cover his hand while Joshua answers the door.Â
âHi-â your voice carries into the small space, and Jeonghan silently urges Joshua to move to the side so he can get a better look at you. âAre you Jeonghan?â
âNo, Joshua,â he shifts, allowing you to see into the cabin, âthatâs Jeonghan.â
Jeonghan lifts his unharmed hand, wiggling his fingers at you and offering a smile.Â
His eyes quickly take you in, assessing your cute outfit- and its lack of weather appropriateness. He finds himself stifling a laugh again, shaking his head to snap himself out of it before saying loudly, âArenât you going to let our new step-sister in?â
You look like a bunny entering a wolfâs den, and you stop just past the threshold, allowing the door to be closed behind you.
âI guess you guys know about the cabin situation?â Your first words arenât something Jeonghan had particularly expected from you-
Youâre much more forward than your appearance gives you credit for, and he begins to wonder if his little bunny has teeth.Â
âCabin situation?â Joshua comes to join Jeonghan on the couch, reaching for his book.
âYeah-â you swallow, âI heard my cabin got given up to two of your friends?â
âRight, that cabin situation,â Jeonghan and Joshua exchange glances, and they leave space for you to continue.
âI was thinking,â you shift awkwardly on your feet, a chunk of snow shifts off your boot and onto the wood floor, âuh- you guys arenât really going to make me share a cabin with two of your friends, right?âÂ
âWhat do you mean?â Joshua cocks his head, and Jeonghan leans back in his seat, enjoying the scene playing out in front of him.
âJust that-â you release a deep sigh. âGuys- Iâm going to be honest, Iâm really tired- is there no possible way one or even both of your friends could- I donât know⌠crash in this cabin with you guys?â- thereâs a beat of silence, Jeonghan and Joshua exchange glances - âlike, thatâs a pullout couch, right? So- at least one could stay here-â
Joshua opens his mouth to respond, but Jeonghan places a hand on his knee to silence him, taking the lead in these new family negotiations; âYou might be able to convince one of them to stay here,â he tells you, âbut I doubt youâd be more comfortable alone with a strange man youâve never met, than you would be having two.â
âI meanâŚâ you look between your new step-siblings, âthese guys are your friends, right? Itâs not like theyâre going to- erm⌠try anything?â
âYouâre right,â Jeonghan nods sympathetically, âletâs go over there and you can see which one you prefer to spend a week alone with.â
You shift again, releasing a groan. âI know we just met- but Iâve gotta say, youâre a bit of an asshole, you know that?â
Jeonghan laughs.
âHeâs right though,â Joshua sighs. âAs unfortunate as it is that your cabin got given up, thereâs no chance both of our friends are going to give up their beds to sleep on a pullout in here with us.â He stands up. âI saw you were struggling with your bag earlier- Iâll carry it for you, we can go to the next cabin over and discuss the situation with Cheol and Mingyu-â
âThanks, but no thanks,â you open the door, holding your suitcase tightly, âIâm a big girl, Iâll handle this myself.â
The new brothers watch you leave the cabin, and then Joshua heads to the window, eyes following you as you trudge down the path back to the main road again.Â
âIs she still struggling?â Jeonghan asks.
Joshua lets out something between a laugh and a sigh, then he nods. âSheâs really struggling.â
3: Thursday - Arrival
âIs that your stomach growling?â Cheol groans, distracted from the Christmas film heâs watching for what must be the third time-
âIâm sorry-â Mingyu whines, hand rubbing his tummy in slow circles, âyou know how I get when we go skiing-â
âThen eat more at dinner next time,â the elder man snaps, grabbing the remote to turn the sound up in the hopes it will drown out his friendâs stomach, âand make some ramen or something.â
âIâm too lazy, I canât get up,â the large man sprawled on the couch groans, his voice switching to something more on the girly side when he says âoppa, make me ramen? We can have Netflix and ramen?â
âAish-â Seungcheol reaches out to bat his friendâs foot.
Mingyu is the baby of their apartment back home, and all three of the men born in 95 try not to make a habit of indulging him in maknae privileges. In fact, Mingyu often ends up being the one who cooks and cleans, but Seungcheol will never admit that to anyone.
âStop complaining and watch your movie,â Seungcheol urges, eyes returning to the screen, where Jim Carreyâs Grinch is having a similar meltdown to Mingyuâs.
A knock at the door stuns both men, their heads whipping towards the sound- then Mingyu is jumping off the couch, as if he wasnât just claiming to be a lazy bum less than a minute ago.Â
âWho is it?â Cheol groans, leaning back against the pillows, stretching his tired arms out in front of him.Â
Heâs never going to get through this movie if there keeps being distractions-
âShh- itâs a girl-â Mingyuâs whispered response is another shock to Cheolâs system, and he suddenly finds himself sitting up in his seat.
âWell, answer the door!â he whispers back.
Mingyu follows through with the command, and a moment later heâs greeting you with a âHello?â
âUh, hi? Are you⌠Cheol?âÂ
âNo,â Mingyu steps to the side, âhe is.â
Seungcheol blinks at you, taking you in.
Heâs definitely never met you before, so how is it you know his name-Â
How is it you know the name that only his friends use?
âThen that makes you⌠Mingyu?âÂ
Youâre not even looking at Seungcheol anymore, your eyes have slipped over him and returned to the large man in front of you faster than Cheol can even clock-
âThatâs right,â Mingyu nods, then, âwait! You must be the step-sister!â
âThatâs me,â you sigh. âThe step-sister.â
âCome in,â Mingyu urges you, âand let me take your bag, I bet youâre tired from your flight-â
Seungcheol rolls his eyes, setting the remote down. Itâs unlikely heâll be returning to the movie anytime soon, and he supposes he should be friendly with you- despite his exhaustion from a long day on the slopes.
âDid you drag your suitcase all the way through the snow?â Mingyu asks, blatantly bewildered at your behavior.Â
âUh huh,â you nod, closing the door behind you and reaching down to take off your boots.
âNo one helped you?â Mingyuâs tone makes the whole thing seem like blasphemy, and Cheol watches the way he fusses over you, setting your bag at the foot of his bed before rushing to help you take off your jacket-
âNo one,â you confirm. âJoshua offered, but- I managed by myself, like always.â
âSo you stopped at the other cabin first?â Seungcheol confirms, âMet Hannie and Josh-â
Your eyes meet, and then Seungcheol finds himself looking at your lips-
âYeah,â you tear your gaze away, turning to Mingyu when you explain, âwanted to talk with them about bed arrangements first-â
âYou can have mine,â Mingyu offers, flashing you an earnest smile.
âReally?â your eyes widen, and you look between the two men again. âYouâre not uh⌠too big for it?â
Seungcheol feels like heâs been hit in the chest.Â
If youâd had asked your question without looking directly at him, he might have been able to convince himself you werenât insinuating anything- but itâs clear what youâre saying. Itâs clear youâre clocking him as being smaller than his younger friend, clear youâre inadvertantly suggesting that as the shorter man - Cheol - should sleep on the couch.
A month ago, Cheol had suggested the very same thing, thinking youâd be some nice girl he could give his bed to.
But now?Â
He wouldnât give you his bed if your life depended on it.Â
âItâs okay,â Mingyu is quick to assure you, âyou can have my bed. Here, have a seat, weâre watching a Christmas movie-Â did your flight serve you dinner? Are you hungry?â
âStarved,â you sigh, collapsing onto the couch, taking the corner Mingyu had inhabited earlier.Â
âIâll make us some ramen,â Mingyu tells you. âRamen always goes well with Christmas movies.â
Seungcheol notes the way you smile at Mingyuâs words.Â
He feels invisible, and most of all, bitter. Heâs not happy about any of this, not the way youâd taken a hit at his pride, nor Mingyuâs new burst of energy and overly friendly demeanor.
Picking up the remote again, Seungcheol hits play, and he hopes nothing else sets him off tonight, or he just might explode.
4: Friday - morning
Waking up is slow at first, and then it hits you all at once. You sit up, clutching the quilt to cover your body while blinking away the last of your drowsiness, eyes acclimatizing to the soft glow of the room.
Sunlight is coming through the cabin shades, and you realize two things very quickly. First, that youâre alone, and second, that youâre not where youâd fallen asleep last night.
After settling in and eating your ramen, youâd gotten comfortable on the couch. The movie hadnât truly captured your interest, and youâd begun to doze off with the intention of waking up when the film was complete to move to the bed-Â
But you have no recollection of being woken up.
You hadnât even had any dreams. Youâd been so exhausted from a day of traveling that youâd blacked out, and now, youâre left with confusion and body aches.
Someone must have carried you to bed-Â
You hope it was Mingyu.
When you look down, you see youâre still dressed in your travel outfit, so the first thing you decide to do is explore the small cabin and find the shower.
Part of you is grateful the men youâre rooming with allowed you to sleep. It makes finding a routine easier. You take your time in the shower, allowing yourself to relax a little, and you consider what your day might look like.
You guess the men are on the slopes, as the skis that had been propped next to the door when youâd arrived are gone, and you decide exercise might be exactly what you need.
Besides, youâre at a ski resort, skiing seems like an obvious choice- although youâre not quite sure how it will work, seeing as you havenât brought your own equipment-
You begin looking around the cabin for a resort map- and youâre so busy looking in all the hard places you almost miss the glaringly obvious piece of paper resting on the coffee table under a set of keys.Â
Your heart lurches in your chest. You pocket the keys and open the paper to find itâs the resort pamphlet youâve been searching for.Â
Along with a map of the mountain, someone has taken the time to circle cabin 7, draw a line to the main hotel, and circled another section, which has been labeled âski rentalsâ in handwriting thatâs just barely legible.Â
Thereâs no other writing to indicate which man has left this for you, so you decide to assume itâs Mingyu.
Cheol had barely talked to you last night. Heâd given off cold vibes; a man with walls built up around him.Â
You truly canât imagine that the quiet, brooding man had stopped to write on a map and leave you keys.
And honestly? You donât want to imagine it.
Itâs much safer to identify one of your roommates as a tall, white knight, and the other as a dark entity youâll have to suffer through for a week.Â
It makes it easier to plan on ignoring Cheol.Â
5: Friday - afternoon
Today is a good day for Seungcheol.Â
Heâd been worried that your arrival would mean babysitting duty, so when youâd slept in and heâd convinced Gyu to leave you be, heâd been nearly ecstatic.Â
Heâd clocked you as a non-skier the moment youâd arrived without the correct equipment, and despite his day job as a physical trainer, Cheol is not in the mood to be teaching anyone how to do anything.
No, heâs much happier taking the slopes with his best friend.Â
Mingyu isnât as adept with skis as Cheol is, but heâs good enough for the elder not to worry too much about him.Â
After tackling a few of the harder slopes, the two men find themselves on a green run.Â
Itâs enjoyable to take the hill in an easy manner, crisscrossing down the incline, watching the powder fluff up and take air with each harsh turn-
The day is gorgeous-
And then Cheol spots you, and his mood drops instantly.
Youâre a couple hundred feet down the mountain from he and Mingyu, and they both stop for a moment, battling the glare from the sun-
âIs that-â
âY/n,â Seungcheol confirms with a sigh. âFirst the thing with her bags, now this- itâs like sheâs never been to a ski resort before.â
âMaybe she hasnât,â Mingyu cocks his head to the side, looking thoughtful for a moment. âWe should go help her.â
Seungcheol scoffs. âYou really think she wants our help?â
âIt never hurts to offer,â the younger, more considerate man points out. âBesides, this is Jeonghan and Joshuaâs new step-sister, weâre trying to be nice to her, right?â
With a sigh, Seungcheol agrees, and the two continue down the mountain, catching up to you easily.Â
âHello!â Mingyu calls out to you, in classic extroverted Mingyu fashion. This earns him a smile from you, and you stop your slow slope descent to chat.
âHi Mingyu,â you say, pushing your hair out of your face and adjusting your hat.
You donât say hello to Seungcheol, and he doesnât greet you either.
âHowâs your day going so far?â Mingyu asks. âAre you enjoying the fresh air?â
âYeah- found some skis at the rental and I think Iâm getting the hang of it,â you tell them, âwasnât sure Iâd be skiing much this trip but, well, here I am.â
âYou slept in,â Seungcheol finds himself stating. âWe werenât sure weâd bump into you today.â
âRightâŚâ you trail off, giving Seungcheol a quick once over before your eyes return to Mingyu, and an easy smile works its way across your face again, âHave you been skiing long? I mean, I get the feeling that Iâm the only person on the trip who doesnât have much experience with all of this- you guys all brought your own skis.â
âYeah, weâre all big snow sports people,â Mingyu tells you. âSeungcheol was actually almost an olympic level snowboarder-â
âReally?â Now youâre looking at Seungcheol. Truly looking at him. âBut⌠you brought skis?â
âHeâd be much too fast on his board,â Mingyu grins. âSkis slow him down, make him level with the rest of us. But, heâs still pretty good at skiing too.â
âCould give you a few pointers if you want,â Seungcheol says, earnestly.Â
Heâd gotten a good look at what you were doing wrong before they approached you, and a few minor tweaks would have you skiing with the best of them-
âErm, thanks, but no thanks, I think Iâm good learning at my own pace for now.âÂ
He notes the way you avert your eyes, upper lip curling slightly with disdain.Â
He should have never bothered to offer you help.Â
Seungcheol takes a deep breath. âYou two are probably more compatible for your level, and I want to do some harder runs. Iâll see you around.â
And with that, he leaves you and Mingyu, taking off down the mountain at a speed his friends can only dream of.
6: Friday - evening
Itâs been a good day for Mingyu, and settling in for dinner with his friends is the perfect ending for it. They order half the menu, covering the table in all sorts of foods to try together, and it reminds him of their time in university.Â
While Mingyu is younger than his friends, heâd entered their frat before theyâd graduated, and the bond he has with his older hyungs is truly one born out of a shared love for food.Â
âTry this,â Jeonghan insists, and Mingyu opens his mouth before he even gets a good look at whatâs about to be fed to him. âItâs good right?â
Mingyu can only nod happily while munching, hand reaching for his beer.
âWhere were you guys today?â Joshua asks, âwe missed you on the slopes.â
âDid a couple of the harder ones,â Seungcheol responds while the maknae has his mouth full, âthen bumped into your step-sister on the easier hill-â
âOh?â This grabs both Jeonghan and Joshuaâs attention. âShe was skiing?â
âBadly,â Cheol leans back in his chair, sipping his beer.
âShe wasnât that bad,â Mingyu insists, swallowing his food so he can defend you. âI did a couple runs with her and she wasnât that bad, really.â
The brothers exchange a glance that Mingyu canât read.Â
Heâs always been jealous of how in tune Jeonghan and Joshua are. As âirish twinsâ - siblings born within the same year - itâs like they can read each otherâs minds, and Mingyu always feels like heâs missing some crucial part of the conversation.
âDid you guys sort out the bed situation?â Joshua asks, looking down at the steak heâs cutting. He gives off an air of nonchalance, but Mingyu can tell that this is a topic both brothers are interested in.Â
âI think you mentioned giving up your bed when we talked about it a few months ago,â Jeonghan adds, âisnât that right, Cheol?â
âThat was before I met her.â
The brothers exchange a glance, and a smirk works its way onto Jeonghanâs face. âLooks like Gyu got the short end of the straw, huh?â
âI offered her my bed,â Mingyu insists.Â
âBut she fell asleep on the couch during our Christmas movie,â Seungcheol says smoothly. âI moved her to his bed, wasnât going to let him off the hook that easy.â
âMy neck is aching,â Mingyu groans, rubbing at it, âbut it was worth it. I told her she could have my bed, so she had my bed.â
âHeâs so eager to help her out,â Cheol teases, pushing at Mingyuâs shoulder. âWhen we saw her on the mountain earlier, she refused my help, but was more than happy to ski with him.â
Joshua and Jeonghan exchange a glance that has Mingyu rushing to assure them, âsheâs your new step sister- Iâm not trying anything, I just want to be friendly-â
âWhat was that?â Cheol leans closer, âI donât think I heard you?â
âI said,â Mingyu raises his voice, âsheâs their stepsister, and Iâm not trying anything!âÂ
âPerfect, thatâs exactly what I thought I heard,â Seungcheol grins, and then heâs looking at something over Mingyuâs shoulder. âHey Y/N, you should join these three for dinner.â
âUhâŚâÂ
Mingyu turns to find you standing there, and his skin heats with embarrassment.Â
Heâs pretty sure youâd just heard what heâd loudly said to his friends, and his skin tingles with regret, ears heating-
âReally,â Seungcheol stands, âtake my seat, I was just leaving.â
âWhere are you headed?â Jeonghan asks, more curious about his friend than his own step-sister.
âThe pool.â Cheol grabs the jacket on the back of his chair. âHave some knots in my back, but nothing the hot tub jets canât fix.â
For the second time today, Mingyu finds himself watching Cheol make a hasty retreat in order to avoid spending time with you. And for the second time today, Mingyu finds himself eagerly attempting to help you fit in, despite his oldest friendâs rejection of you.
âCome eat,â Mingyu urges, patting the newly empty seat next to him.Â
âAre you guys sure? I can always eat alone-â
âDonât be ridiculous,â Joshua laughs. âYouâre one of us now, come sit.â
Mingyu is glad that your step brothers immediately start asking you questions, and for a little while, everything runs smoothly.Â
Every minute he spends with you, he warms up more and more to your presence.
Itâs obvious to him that yesterday, when youâd arrived, youâd been out of sorts after hours of traveling. Your temperament has improved drastically, and Mingyu finds himself laughing along with his friends at small jokes you make here and there.
The four of you spend a much longer time in the resort restaurant than Mingyu had expected, and itâs only when Jeonghan begins to yawn that you all decide itâs time to head back to your cabins.
The night is cold, but itâs not snowing, and your small group follows the poles of string lights diligently.
Jeonghan and Joshua pull off one stop earlier than your own, wishing you goodnight before heading into their cabin.
As you and Mingyu continue up the path, Mingyu finds you walking closer to him, and heâs surprised when you say âThank you.â
âFor what?â
âCarrying me to bed last night,â you respond, âand the map you left on the coffee table, the one with the ski rental circled.â
âOh, uhâŚâ Mingyu swallows thickly, âthat actually wasnât me. I think itâs Cheol who you have to be thanking.â
âOhâŚâÂ
âOhâ is right.
7: Saturday - morning
When you wake up, youâre struck by two things. First, that youâre alone, as you were when you woke up yesterday. And second, that your father is getting married.
Your body aches when you sit up, muscles screaming at you for having the audacity to ski as long as you had with Mingyu, and you decide pretty quick that another attempt at the slopes is off the table.
You remember what Seungcheol had said yesterday, about the pool and the hott ub, and decide maybe he had the right idea about jets and sore muscles.
He can be an ass, but you suppose he uses his brain sometimes.
You change into your swimsuit, and make sure to layer yourself with comfy sweats and your parka, pool bag in hand before you set out to take on the weather.Â
For the billionth time since arriving at this God forsaken cabin, you wish youâd gotten a room in the resort itself. Itâs snowed over the night, but the path is somewhat cleared. Even so, the trek to the main hotel is difficult, and your muscles are even more tired when you arrive.
The resort is a ski destination, and you cross your fingers that most of its patrons are on the hills and not utilizing the various pools and saunas.Â
Your wish comes true, and youâre pleased to see hardly anyone as you pass through the indoor pool to check out the outdoor areas, intent on having a hot tub to yourself-
As youâre walking along the pool deck, clutching your parka tight around your body, you notice someone swimming.Â
Heâs underwater, slicing through the pool like a professional swimmer. The glare from the overcast sky makes it impossible to get a great look at the athlete and you settle next to the hot tub, hoping to see more when he comes up for air.Â
Youâve just taken off your parka and are wading into the hot tub when the swimmer stops at the edge of the pool. Heâs in the shallows now, and heâs able to stand up, his back to you.
Droplets of water glisten down his back in the light, steam immediately beginning to lift off of his skin-
His shoulders and back look like they were crafted by the Gods, and the man runs a hand through his hair, shaking it out of his face.
You just wish he would turn to look at you, so you can see who youâre drooling over-
In no time at all, this wish is coming true, only, you wish it hadnât, because the moment the gorgeous, well-muscled athlete turns to look at you, youâre locking eyes with your least favourite person on the mountain.
Seungcheol is as taken aback as you are for a moment.
Heâd been reaching for the rail to pull himself out of the pool, but now, heâs simply frozen.
Youâre practically gawking at each other, and youâre the first to break eye contact, clearing your throat and looking away.
You can feel your skin heating, and itâs not just from the hot tub, which you wish you could simply submerge yourself in and never come back up-
In the periphery of your vision, you see Seungcheol getting out of the pool, and it takes every ounce of self-restraint in your entire body not to turn and watch him.
Then, to your surprise, he gives you an excuse to look at him, calling out, âThe wedding starts at four, donât be late.â
Your jaw hits the hottub floor, and you watch Seungcheol practically run away from you.
Itâs becoming an all too familiar sight.Â
8: Saturday - afternoon
Sitting in his motherâs hotel room, watching her do the final touches on her wedding look, Joshua is struck with memories of the past.
Thereâd been many mornings growing up where heâd sat on the closed-lid toilet, watching her brush through her hair, sometimes braiding it, before taking him and Jeonghan to school.
In the quiet of their small apartment bathroom, nothing could come between them, not Jeonghan whining for whatever reason, nor the angry father whoâd disappeared from the picture when the boys had turned ten.
To Joshua, the moment feels like peace, or at least, as close to it as heâs ever come.
He can tell, by the way his mom smiles when she looks at herself in the mirror, that sheâs truly happy, and itâs all heâs ever wanted for her.Â
The moment is fleeting, as Jeonghan enters the room and brings with him a certain level of chaos, the kind of windswept mayhem that follows him everywhere, like a moving storm.
âBooze?â The first word to come out of his mouth.
âIn the fridge,â Joshua motions to the small cooler before asking his elder brother, âdrinking already?â
âJust spent half an hour running all over and making sure everyoneâs doing what theyâre supposed to be doing,â Jeonghan sighs, bending down to retrieve a can of beer, cracking it open with nimble fingers.
âYou wanted to be the best man,â Joshua points out.
For such a small wedding, consisting of only close family and a few friends, roles hadnât been a necessity, but Joshua wasnât aware that scrambling around to make sure people are in place would be necessary either.
âY/N forgot her shoes at the cabin, so Mingyu ran to get them, but by the time he got there, Seungcheol had apparently realized the heels were needed, so heâd grabbed them- and somehow theyâd missed each other in the lobby-â Jeonghan cuts off his own ramblings with a large sip of his drink.Â
âSounds like quite the goose chase,â their motherâs calm voice visibly settles the best man, who takes a seat next to his brother.
âYou look amazing,â Jeonghan tells her, as sincere as Joshuaâs ever seen him. âOur new step-sisterâs dad is a lucky man.â
âSince when did you stop calling him by his name?â Seulki laughs, returning her gaze to the mirror, fixing her veil. âLooks like youâre both getting used to Y/N though, Joshua mentioned that you all had dinner last night. Is she settling in okay?â
âI think so,â Joshua says thoughtfully.
âMingyu really likes her,â Jeonghan adds.
Joshua nods. âAnd we do too.â
Their mom gives them a knowing look. âHowâs Seungcheol finding his cabinmate? Havenât you both always said heâs a good judge of character?â
âHeâs also a stubborn ass,â Jeonghan grins over the rim of his drink, âso we canât really trust his opinions on her- besides, any time sheâs around, he runs the other way. I doubt theyâve talked much.â
âThatâs a shame,â Seulki frowns. âI bumped into her with Mingyu on the slopes yesterday, she seemed really lovely.â
âShe is,â Joshua admits. Heâd also enjoyed getting to know you last night over food and drinks.
âWell,â Seulki turns to her boys, âletâs just hope Seungcheol warms up to her, but weâll put that to the side for now, we have a wedding to get to.â
9: Saturday - evening
The ceremony had gone exactly as planned.Â
After the initial goose chase looking for your shoes, thereâd only been one or two small details Jeonghan had been forced to attend to. But after it all, his mom had walked down the aisle, vows had been said, and Jeonghan had gained a father figure.
Standing at the alter next to his brother, Jeonghan had watched everything take place with a keen eye.
Heâd been pleased to see the three couples invited - his aunt and uncle, and two of your fatherâs friends with their wives - sitting in the small venue with his roommates. And heâd been even more interested in watching his friends react throughout the service.
Mingyu had gotten teary-eyed the moment Seulki had begun her walk down the aisle, and even Seungcheol had torn his gaze from you for long enough to admire the dress.
When everything was said and done, the small party had moved to a secluded room off the main restaurant to have food, drinks and further celebration. Here, Jeonghan had again noticed Seungcheolâs affinity for having you in his line of sight.
âYou know,â Jeonghan says, as he settles into the seat next to his brother, eyes fixed on his muscular friend by the small bar, âfor a guy who runs away whenever y/n is around, he spends an awful lot of his time watching our step sister.â
Joshua chuckles, sipping his champagne. âYou noticed that too, huh?â
âHard not to,â Jeonghan grins, following Seungcheolâs gaze to where youâre clinging to Mingyu on the makeshift dance floor. âWhat do you think about those two?â
âI think Cheol better cut his losses now,â Joshua says, setting his drink down.Â
âReally?â Jeonghan cocks his head, considering it all. âWeâre only two days into this trip⌠a lot could happen before the week is done, donât you think?â
âA lot could happen,â Joshua admits, âespecially if someone like you decided to meddle.â
âI never meddle, only⌠help push things along.â
âIn the direction you want it to go.â
âTouche,â Jeonghan lifts his champagne, gently clinking it against his brotherâs discarded glass.Â
âI think Iâm going to go ask y/n to dance,â Joshua says, pushing his chair back and standing.
âNow whoâs meddling?â Jeonghan laughs.
âStill only you.â
10: Sunday - morning
The couch had been uncomfortable on a normal night, so Mingyu supposes itâs his own fault that he wakes up aching after a night of drinking and dancing at the wedding.
Stretching his arms over his head, he tries to ease the tight muscles in his shoulders, but heâs unable to get comfortable again.
He lays there for a few minutes, watching you dance in your cute bridesmaid dress on the back of his eyelids. Heâs not sure if itâs you, the dress, or the visual combined, but he knows heâs going to remember last night for many years to come.
When he finally sits up, Mingyu looks towards your bed, and heâs not shocked to find you still sleeping. This is the third day waking up in the same room as you, and Mingyuâs becoming accustomed to the fact that you sleep in longer than he does.
Heâs becoming accustomed to your cute, unsuspecting, resting face.
It makes sleeping on the couch worth it, and his sore muscles are almost forgotten- until he has to stand up, and they scream at him again.
Cheol is sitting up in his bed, scrolling through his phone, and he looks up when Mingyu stretches his arms above his head to release his shoulder tension.
âDid you sleep well?â Cheol mouths at him.
The two have been scared to even whisper in the mornings - scared to wake you up - and have adopted this silent way of communicating. Mingyu nods quickly, pointing back at his hyung as if to say âand you?â
Another quick nod, plus a thumbs up, then Cheol makes the motion of a man shoveling food into his mouth and points to the door.
Mingyu holds up his hand, âgive me five minutesâ and slowly begins to tiptoe to the bathroom, where he can have some water, fix his hair, and change into better clothes.Â
Itâs a routine theyâve gotten used to, and for the third day in a row, Mingyu prays that when he exits the bathroom, by some miracle, youâll be awake and eager to join them in the resort restaurant for breakfast.
Mingyu and Seungcheol - quite predictably - end up weathering the early morning elements without you, and itâs on the snowy path that Mingyu tells Cheol âI think Iâm going to skip skiing today.â
âReally?â Seungcheolâs shock is written all over his face.
Mingyu nods. âI feel bad that weâre always ditching y/n- and we mostly go on the slopes she canât ski on, so⌠I figured, after breakfast, I'd stay behind at the cabin and wait till she wakes up, then see what she wants to do today.â
Thereâs a long pause, and then Seungcheol sighs. âI see how it is.â
âHmm?â
âYou also walked her home last night after the dinner. Hannie, Joshie and I stayed up drinking, you usually join, but instead, you walked y/n home.â
âWe were both tired,â Mingyu defends himself. âWatched a bit of a movie, then fell asleep.â
âIs that all that happened?â
âWhat do you mean?â
âI mean⌠part of me wondered if I should have stayed on Jeonghan and Joshuaâs couch last night, to give you privacy.â
Mingyuâs heart skips a beat in his chest, and he fumbles with the hood of his parka. âWe didnât- we arenât-â
âYou guys danced a lot last night, then you walked her home⌠if itâs not like that then⌠well, people might get the wrong idea.â
âWhoâs people?â Mingyu nearly laughs. âItâs just us here- you think anyone really cared last night?â
âI guess not.â Thereâs a pause, then Seungcheol changes the topic, asking, âWhat do you think youâll have for breakfast today?â
Itâs then that Mingyu realizes, someone did care last night, and that someone, is Cheol.Â
11: Sunday - afternoon
Youâd been a little shocked to find Mingyu reading on the couch when youâd woken up from your long sleep, but when heâd explained to you that heâd stayed behind from skiing with friends to make sure you had a proper buddy for the day, your heart had melted.
After a slow start, the two of you had decided to rent some snow shoes and use the back slope trails, which is how you end up climbing one of the smaller mountains together.
âWeâre almost at the top,â Mingyu tells you, pulling out the trail map provided by the resort. You try to catch your breath while he points to a spot on the paper. âI think weâre about here, so just-â he drags his finger up the green line, âthis far to the top.â
âAre you sure?â you laugh, grasping onto his arm to pull yourself closer so you can get a good look at the map.
Thereâs a pause, then he shakes his head, âNo. We could also be sort of lost.âÂ
âDonât say that-â you grin, pushing at him, âyouâve been mostly using this map alright- I trust you, and your trail-following capabilities.â
âMaybe you shouldnât though,â Mingyu insists. âHonestly, following maps is definitely Cheolâs thing. One time, we were on a road trip, and we were going down this road for half an hour before we had to pull over and he got to look at the map- weâd missed a turn and it set us back like two hours-â
âItâs easier to miss a highway turn than a trailhead,â you assure him. âCome on, we said weâd climb this small mountain, and then we can take the lift back down and finish our movie from last night at the cabin- just think about our nice, warm cabin-â
âNice, warm cabin,â Mingyu nods, folding the map back up to put in the pocket of his parka. âLetâs go, we can do this.â
You watch the large, beautiful man pull away from you and continue your trajectory up, and you canât help but smile, echoing the sentiment, âwe can do this.âÂ
12: Sunday - evening
Seungcheol had been surprised to find the cabin empty after skiing, and heâd been even more surprised when he went to the restaurant to find you and Mingyu not there either.Â
However, he does find Jeonghan, who informs him that heâd seen you and Mingyu getting snow shoes a few hours ago, and Seungcheolâs heart sinks.
Thereâs a storm coming, and darkness has already begun to settle in across the resort-Â
He hopes, for both your sakes, that youâre not on the top of the mountain, lost in the trails, when the worst of the winter weather hits.
After waiting diligently for his meal order to come through, Seungcheol ends up trekking back to your cabin with food and firewood in hand just as the snow begins to get heavier.
The last thing he expects when he enters your lodging, is to find you sitting there with a minty green facemask on, and for a second, he stands in the doorway just staring at you.
You break eye contact first, calling out âCheolâs back!â and a moment later, Mingyu comes out of the bathroom, mid-facemask application.
âCheol!â Mingyu beams, rubbing the green goo against his cheek, âyouâre back from skiing!â
âI was back earlier-â Seungcheol closes the door behind him, âstopped here for a bit but you guys werenât around.â
âWe just got back from a snowshoe hike like, twenty minutes ago?â Mingyu tells him, looking at you for confirmation. Seungcheol watches the way you nod at Mingyu, and his friend lights up. This time, when he says âtwenty minutes ago,â he says it with confidence.
âWell, I brought food and firewood,â Seungcheol sighs, kicking off his snow boots and entering the small space.
âFirewood?â Youâre looking at him again, and Seungcheol canât find it within himself to meet your eyes while youâre green in the face like this, so instead, he sets the food down and moves to the small cast iron fireplace in the corner.
âDid you think this cabin heats itself?â The question comes out much snarkier than heâd intended, and he regrets it as he begins to build the fire.
âNo- I mean, I noticed it was cold when we got in twenty minutes ago- but I donât know, I sort of assumed that maybe hotel staff would bring the wood and keep the embers going-â
Seungcheol scoffs. Of course another good deed of his would go unappreciated.Â
âItâs plausible!â you try to insist.
âI never said anything.â
âYou scoffed, you went like-â you mimic the throaty annoyed sound heâd made, âyou went like that, a scoff- you scoffed at me!â
âHereâs your dinner,â Seungcheol pushes the bag of takeout towards you across the floor, eyes fixed on the fire heâs still building.
âWhat if I donât want your food? What if I want to finish with this mask and go grab food for myself?âÂ
Seungcheol sighs again. âThereâs literally a storm coming in- if you go out, youâre going to get windswept away- just eat the food I brought.â
âWhat if I donât like the food you brought?â you insist again, and Seungcheolâs getting real tired of your bratty stubbornness.Â
âYou will, itâs what youâve been eating for two nights in a row.â
This finally gets you to open the bag heâd brought, and you remove the three takeout items, eying them. âHow did you know I like this?â
âLike I said- youâve eaten it two nights in a row.â
âWhy were you watching?â
âOh my god,â Seungcheol groans, running a hand through his hair. âJust say thank you and eat your fucking food while I make this fire so you donât freeze to death- why does everything have to be so hard with you?â
Thereâs a long pause, and he hears the sound of a food container opening.Â
Heâs thankful youâve finally shut up and are going to eat.
âEven without the fire- this cabin is well insulated enough that we wouldnât die,â you say after a moment. âThe hotel wouldnât be able to have a cabin where its renters could just die.â
If he hadnât just lit the fire, Seungcheol might have considered allowing you to test your theory out of spite.
âYou always need to have the last word, donât you, brat?â He stands up, dusting his hands off on his pants before turning to look at you.
You open your mouth to respond- but quickly shrink under his hard gaze.
A moment later, you pick up the remote, and a movie begins to play.
At least in this, Cheolâs gotten the last laugh.Â
13: Monday - morning
âFuck-â Jeonghanâs cursing does more to wake Joshua up than the knock at their cabin door had, and the younger irish twin goes to cover his ears while Jeonghan stumbles out of bed.
âWho is it?â Joshua groans, giving in and sitting up, squinting at the door that his brother throws open to reveal their eldest friend.
âAre you two really still sleeping?â Seungcheol pushes into the cabin, throwing his gloves down before gruffly kicking off his boots.
âWhat time is it?â Jeonghan asks, rubbing at his eyes and groaning before running back to nosedive into his bed.
âLate enough that you should both be awake.â
âY/nâs not awake,â Jeonghan insists, tucking himself back under the covers, âand I donât see Mingyu anywhere- why do they get a free pass from your bitching but we donât?â
âBecause theyâre not my ski buddies today,â Seungcheol says smoothly. âSeriously, whatâs up with you two- and why is it so cold in here?â
They all look towards the castiron fire place, and the emptiness of it gives Joshua a chill that he feels tingling through his entire body.
âWe thought we had enough firewood to carry us over from the evening and into the night, so neither of us picked up any dry wood from the hotel yesterday-â Joshua begins to explain.
âEvidently you both ran out,â Cheol concludes, scanning the rest of the small space with his precise, all-knowing, eyes. His gaze lingers on the bottle of fireball on the coffee table. âInstead of running to get more wood, you guys took to drinking, huh?â
âItâs not like we were going to cuddle,â Jeonghan groans.
âSo youâre both hung over.â
âJust a little,â Joshua sighs, swinging his legs out of his bed. âGive us half an hour and I can be up.â
âItâs funny,â Cheol says, moving to sit on the couch, âI just had a fight with your step-sister last night about whether weâd freeze to death if we forgot firewood- and at the same time, you guys were over here, resorting to fireball instead of an actual fire-â
âItâs not like we could go out and grab wood once we realized we didnât have enough,â Jeonghan defends himself. âThe storm was really bad.â
âAnd itâs going to be bad for the next few days,â Seungcheol tells them, âso you better get used to grabbing firewood every evening after dinner.â
Both of his friends groan. âSure, dad,â Jeonghan buries his head in his pillows. âYou know what? If youâre going to be like this, maybe Iâll sleep in and not be your ski buddy today.â Â
âMingyu ditched me yesterday, and now youâre ditching me today-â Seungcheol clicks his tongue, âam I really being that much of a dick this vacation?â
Itâs Joshua who responds, pointing out, as thoughtfully as he can; âyou have been more of a dick than usual.âÂ
To which Seungcheol replies, âYeah, well, you guys have been pissing me off more than usual.âÂ
Except, Joshua knows itâs not necessarily he and Jeonghan who have been pushing Seungcheolâs buttons this trip- but he keeps that to himself.Â
14: Monday - afternoon
After skipping out on skiing with his friend and brother, Jeonghan had gotten some much-needed rest. Then, around lunchtime, heâd left his cabin in search of food only to bump into you and Mingyu doing the same thing.
As if that wasnât coincidence enough, when your odd trio had entered the resort restaurant, youâd found Joshua and Seungcheol midway through their own meals.
Jeonghan had insisted you all join together, fully intending to meddle with you and your cabin mates. After all, heâd just gotten some sleep, and his mischievous mind was eager to stir the pot.
To his disappointment, the seating arrangements make poking peopleâs buttons difficult- with Cheol all but ignoring you from his vantage point as far from you as possible.
Despite the less-than-ideal format of your table, Jeonghan still finds a way to draw everyone into the conversation when he states, âso I heard there was a fight over cabin temperature last night.â
This earns Jeonghan a rough kick under the table from Cheol, as well as a harsh look from you.Â
âWho said that?â you ask.
âCheol did,â Jeonghan smiles through the pain in his shin, and this time, when Cheol goes to kick him, a quick movement of his leg has him narrowly avoiding his friendâs boot. âThis morning, when he came to pick of Joshie for skiing.â
âIt wasnât a fight,â you go to insist, but the harsh glare you send Seungcheolâs way has Jeonghan nearly laughing.
âDefinitely not a fight,â Mingyu confirms, and Jeonghan almost feels bad for the way heâs sat between you and Seungcheol. A man caught between two stormy personalities ready for a clash.
âIf it makes you feel any better,â Jeonghan says, âwe ran out of wood last night, and we didnât die.â
You sigh, leaning back in your chair. âWell, thatâs good to know.âÂ
âY/n was saying last night,â Mingyu adds, âthat she doubted weâd die without wood- hotel regulations and everything-â
âWas Cheol insisting youâd die without a fire?â Joshuaâs eyes have widened, and he leans in, elbows on the table next to Jeonghanâs food. âCheol? Really?âÂ
âHe was just being dramatic,â you say, and Jeonghan watches the way his friendâs ears turn red at your statement.
âSays the girl who was going to go out in the storm instead of eating the food I brought for her.â Seungcheol crosses his arms over his chest, and a muscle feathers in his jaw. Heâs glaring at his plate, and a thick tension blankets the table.
Jeonghan loves it.
But then something happens that he couldnât possibly predict: your parents enter the restaurant, and before he knows it, youâre hopping up to go say hello to Seulki and your father, leaving the men to deal with the unresolved tension.
âAre you trying to start something?â Seungcheol whispers angrily as soon as youâre out of earshot, his angry gaze fixed on Jeonghan.
âWho, me?â Jeonghan touches his chest, pretending to be the most innocent person in the room. âI was just looking for conversation. Besides, weâre the oneâs who forgot firewood last night, itâs quite embarrassing for us.â
âYou donât look embarrassed,â Seungcheol notes, sitting back in his chair.
âHe has no shame,â Mingyu adds, nodding sympathetically.
âYouâre right, I donât,â Jeonghanâs grin widens, and he looks over Seungcheolâs shoulder to see you leaving the restaurant. âNow that itâs just us, I suppose I should be a good big brother and figure out which one of you intends to fuck my new step-sister.â
Mingyu had been taking a sip of his drink, and now heâs choking, which only adds to Jeonghanâs delight.Â
âJeonghan,â Joshuaâs harsh warning bounces off the elder brother, whose smile is becoming something akin to the Cheshire Catâs.
âNeither of us are going for your stupid step-sister,â Seungcheol growls, thumping Mingyu on the back to aid with the water caught in his lungs.
âOh, so youâre both in denial?â Jeonghanâs eyes widen. âIâd thought at least Mingyu would fess up.â
âFess up to what?â Mingyu says between coughs. âIâm just being nice to her!â
Jeonghan nods. âSure you are.â
âWhy do you all think I want to fuck your stepsister?!â Mingyu whisper screams at his friends, doing a quick look around the restaurant before adding, âyou guys are all horrible.â
âCheolâs been bugging you about this too, huh?â Itâs one of the first things Joshuaâs really said, and Jeonghan realizes his brother is right.Â
âBet he had a lot to say about the way you danced with our sister at the wedding.â
âWere you all watching that?!â Mingyuâs eyes have widened.Â
âIt was quite the spectacle,â Jeonghan plays with his glass of water. âCheol was jealous.â
âWhat!?â This time, when Seungcheol misses Jeonghanâs shin with his foot, the whole table shakes from impact along the underside of it. âWas not! I didnât even dance with her- how could I be jealous when I never even danced with your stupid sister-â
âStop calling her stupid,â Joshuaâs harsh tone is a surprise to everyone, and the table goes quiet. âJust because youâre in denial about everything doesnât mean you get to call our new sister stupid.â
âSomeoneâs taking their older brother role a little seriously-â Seungcheol lets out a whistle.
âDeflect all you want,â Joshua sighs, âChange the topic and make fun of me, but at the end of the day, youâre only making things harder on yourself⌠both of you.â
For a moment, both Seungcheol and Mingyu are put on the spot, then Seungcheol insists, âWeâre not doing anything.â
âAnd denial is a river in Egypt,â Joshua sighs, shocking the whole table with a pop culture quote- something thatâs very unlike him. âCheol, youâre done eating, letâs leave these two and get a few more runs in before the storm makes skiing impossible.âÂ
15: Monday - evening
Sitting on the floor with your roommates, roasting marshmallows on the fire while the storm rages outside, you find yourself noticing all the small details about them both.
Itâs the first night that youâve actually allowed yourself to take a breath and relax, accepting that, with the extreme weather, there is really nothing else that can be done except to work on enjoying your company.
Mingyu is easy, as youâve grown accustomed to having him around. Youâve gotten used to his large form, the clumsiness and easy smiles.
Seungcheol, on the other hand, is something youâre newly exploring, sneaking glances at his side profile whenever you think heâs fully distracted in his marshmallow making.
Unlike Mingyu, who thrusts his treat into the fire and watches it burn, Seungcheol is meticulous about his food, preferring a spot where his marshmallow can slowly turn golden near the embers.
Heâs got a pretty side profile, and thereâs a stubborn set to his jaw when he focuses, eyes fixed on flames that light his face in pretty hues.Â
His nose is also quite striking, and along with his strong brow, his face is altogether quite attractive, something youâve been fighting yourself on since the moment you entered the cabin and heâd been cold to you.
Thereâs something about the duality of him that has your heart racing whenever heâs around.Â
Youâre never sure which Cheol youâre going to get.
Youâve had glimpses of his softer side, especially on your first day when heâd carried you to bed and then left you a map- then thereâd been the way he brought you your dress shoes after youâd forgotten to pack them and trekked to the hotel in snow boots on the day of the wedding-
It seems as if Seungcheol is the kind of man who likes to do nice things for you when youâre not watching, but after your small altercation last night, wherein youâd realized heâs also been doing fire duty, youâve made more of an attempt to notice small things.
Small things like the way he takes the perfect golden marshmallow out of the fire, places it between two chocolate graham crackers, and hands it to you without a word, giving you the best sâmore of the night.
He balances his kindness to you by offering Mingyu the sâmore after, and you think he must be doing it as if to say âyouâre not special, Iâll share with everyoneâ but you canât help but think there might be more to it.Â
To your surprise, Mingyu is the first of the three of you to get sleepy, and after a quick washup in the bathroom, heâs collapsing onto the couch and falling asleep.Â
For the first time since arriving at the cabin, you find yourself truly alone with Seungcheol, no big, human buffer to keep you both in line.
The silence is thick. Even so, in the quiet, Seungcheol gives you wide birth to go wash your face and brush your teeth while he cleans up the few items from your sâmores.
Thereâs hardly anything to be said, and the two of you find yourselves getting into your own beds in no time at all.
âTurning off the light,â Seungcheol tells you, hand reaching for the lamp chord.Â
He pauses, waiting for your curt âokayâ before following through with his statement of intent, and the room is captured in darkness.
The wind howls outside, drowning out any sounds of your roommates breathing, and for a little while, you can almost pretend youâre alone.Â
Almost.Â
In the dark, your mind begins to have all sorts of thoughts, and you surprise yourself when words slip out of you; âIâm sorry for calling you dramatic today.â
The air feels thick and heavy, a few beats of silence passing that almost convince you Seungcheolâs asleep, but then, he responds. âIâm sorry for referring to our disagreement last night as âa fightâ when I talked to Jeonghan this morning.âÂ
âItâs okay,â you say quietly.Â
For a short while, you think nothing else is going to be said, but then; âGoodnight y/n.â
You take a breath, wrapping yourself tighter in your blankets. âGoodnight, Cheol.âÂ
