May stared down at her girlfriend, who was on bended knee with a ring box popped open. It was a sight right out of a cheesy romance movie, but it was very, very real, and May was very, very stunned at the question.

They’d been dating for a while, yes, but they’d settled into such a comfortable domesticity already that the question of marriage had never crossed May’s mind. It already felt like they were, really.

But the gasp she let out, a hand covering her mouth to muffle a squeal as her toes dug into the sand below them, had all of those thoughts vanishing in an instant, as only one word crossed from her lips.

“Yes.”

The ring was slipped onto her finger, and May pulled the blonde up for a deep kiss under the Slateport Beach’s starlit sky.

So May decided to do something completely reckless and call upon Latias when the city was beginning to settle in for the night, flying with her straight to where Korrina’s bedroom was at the Tower, circling it carefully until she knew she had it right.

But Korrina had been dealing with this all day so May of course was willing to give her a break from their fighting children.

Stepping into the family room, May put her hands on her hips as she took in Kira and Leon, who were arguing over the game they were playing.

“Ahem. What is going on in here?” she asked in her most serious mom voice, raising a brow at the kids, who stared at her in surprise.

“Leon took my doll!” “Kira took my game!” they shouted at the same time.

May glanced at Korrina, then back at the kids. “And did either of you apologize for taking what you did?”

“Yeah, and then Mom made us come in here and play this instead,” Leon, their younger, explained. “But then Kira cheated!”

“I did not, you did!” their daughter shot back.

May raised her hand, exchanging another glance with her wife. “We don’t want to hear it. Both of you are grounded until you can learn to behave around one another. We’re not going to Professor Birch’s lab this weekend.”

“BUT - ”

“You heard me, Kira. Until you learn to behave, both of you are grounded.”

May turned back to her wife and gave her a quick peck. “I have a feeling they’ll learn to get along very quickly.”

May yawned, stretching her arms above her head as she looked around Lumiose City. She hadn’t gotten much sleep the previous night with Aipom anxiously wanting to check out everything before they even made it to their hotel. Mercifully, nearly all of the unexplored shops had closed by the time it got super late, and she had managed to get a few hours of sleep by the time morning broke.

Now, she and Aipom were exploring what they hadn’t been able to the previous night, but a bit of exhaustion was still hanging over her.

“Aipom, calm down,” she said with another yawn as the monkey clambered onto her shoulder, chattering eagerly as they looked around at the large buildings and various cafes that dotted the lane they were walking down. “We’re going to see as much as we can before we challenge the gym.”

“Aipah!” Aipom said eagerly, before jumping off May’s shoulder.
