As the thoughts continue to gather, more and more debris gets picked up and added to the swirling typhoon. Every bad idea he’s ever had, every awful thing he’s ever done, every person he’s ever hurt. A history of catastrophe that becomes a super cyclone, spinning dangerously out of control. He realizes with stunning clarity, that he’s the storm, leaving a trail of destruction everywhere he goes.

As you might know I joined the SKAM BIGBANG 2023 as an artist.

I got pared with the awesome @alterlove2021 and got to make art for her awesome story. It has been a blast collaborating with her, all the conversations, laughs and creativity we've shared.

I even got to meet her when she were in Oslo this spring.

I have walked around Oslo with my phone and digtal camerea, and dug out photos from my gigantic photo archive to create art for this story. Rewatched quite a bit of SKAM episodes to screenshot the best pictures too.

The result is the photo above (I took and edited the picture and AltErLove2021 added the text) and a series of over 20 photo collages that will be spread around the story as it unfolds.

The final story we're highlighting is "all the things we lost, the universe reminds us" by @alterlove2021with art by @mazarin01! This story asks us to wonder about the role of chance and destiny in our lives.

AltErLove2021: What inspired this story?

I love O Helga Natt, but I was struck by the idea that Isak arrives at Nissen just as Even appears to be leaving the building. What if he had arrived even a minute later and Even had already left? This fic is my attempt to wrestle with the big questions. How much of our lives are ruled by chance versus destiny? Is there a purpose to our lives or just the chaos of infinite possibilities.

Mazarin: What inspires you about this story?

I’m inspired by the beautiful writing and the premises for the story; how your actions can alter your course in life. What if Isak didn’t make it to the school in time, what would happen then? I’m also inspired by the collaboration between me and the writer; how we inspire each other, how I immediately after reading a scene wanna photograph where it takes place.
