TikTok star Siya Kakkar has died. She was 17. Her manager, Arjun Sarin, confirmed to ET that Kakkar died by suicide at her home in New Delhi, India, on June 24 around 9-10 p.m. Sarin told ET he had talked to Kakkar earlier in the day, noting, "She sounded very normal, just like we talk every day." "I can just say she was one of the finest artists and her focus was not money," he said. "Her focus was to work for her happiness." Kakkar, who lived in India, was known for her dancing and has more than 1.9 million followers on TikTok. On Thursday, Delhi Police told local news outlet India Today that Kakkar died at her residence on Wednesday night and had been battling depression in the four days prior to her death. Sarin told ET that he was not aware of the social media star receiving any online threats. The manager also spoke about Kakkar's death to India Today on Thursday, saying, "I had a word with her last night for a new project and she sounded normal... This must be due to something personal...work-wise she was doing well." "Me and my company Fame Experts manage lots of artists and Siya was a bright talent," he continued. TikTok star Siya Kakkar dies by suicide: Mobile phone seized, police to question close friends - India Today The Delhi Police is investigating the reason behind TikTok star Siya Kakkar's death by suicide and said that her phone has been seized. Siya Kakkar, 16, died by suicide at her residence in New Delhi on June 25. While her phone has been seized, Delhi Police has not been able to unlock it as yet. डांस वीडियो को लेकर मिल रही थी धमकियां पारिवारिक सूत्रों का कहना है कि बीते कुछ दिनों से सिया को रोजाना सोशल मीडिया पर डांस वीडियो शेयर करने को लेकर धमकियां मिल रही थी, जिससे वह काफी परेशान थी। बीते कुछ दिनों से सिया को सोशल मीडिया पर धमकियां मिल रही थीं। जिला पुलिस उपायुक्त अमित शर्मा का कहना है कि फिलहाल पोस्टमार्टम कराकर सिया का शव परिवार को सौंप दिया गया है। मामले की छानबीन जारी है।

पहचान वालों से पूछताछ कर रही पुलिस सिया की आत्महत्या को लेकर पुलिस लगातार रिश्तेदार, परिचित और स्कूल के दोस्तों से पूछताछ कर रही है। पुलिस ने सिया के मैनेजर से भी पूछताछ की है। इसके अलावा पुलिस ने सिया का मोबाइल फोन जब्त कर लिया है। पुलिस अब फोन की कॉल डिटेल रिपोर्ट निकलवाने की तैयारी कर रही है, जिससे यह पता चल सके कि आखिरी बार उसकी किस-किस से बात हुई थी। इसके साथ ही पुलिस ने उनके कमरे से लैपटॉप और कुछ दस्तावेज लिए हैं।

A 16-year-old girl known for her popularity on social media app TikTok committed suicide on Thursday in New Delhi, reports in Indian media said.

The news of Siya Kakkar’s death was confirmed by her manager Arjun Sarin, who managed all her work and endorsements.

“This must be due to something personal…work wise she was doing well. I had a word with her last night for a new project and she sounded normal,” he told Indian media.

Siya Kakkar was reportedly active on all the online platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube with more than 1.1 million followers on TikTok.

According to reports, the family of the TikTok star has asked for a detailed police investigation on her death.

This has come barely two weeks after a Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide in his Mumbai residence.

The actor, known for films like Raabta and Kedarnath, was living alone during lockdown and was found hanging at his Bandra residence by police.
