Last Friday was my last day at Holiday in the Park. I didn't take too many pictures this season, but I did manage to snag one of my last makeup on @memento.morgie . . Yesterday, I took myself on a Holi-date. I went to the Six Flags 'Holiday in th Park'. The tree lighting took place at 5 and it was lovel, the sun set at 430 and the lights around the park were spectacular, I rode roller coasters and had smores and hot chocolate and I watched people *eat ice cream* in full skiing gear. There was no funnel cake in the shape of a snowflake but there were mutiple elves and a Santa. It was wonderful and I was half frozen when I got to my car. And then. Oh ho. I spent over an hour in traffic to get to the other side of Chicago so I could go see Hamilton. In the orchestra section. But on the right and only 4 rows away from the stage. My neck still hurts. But. The production itself. Was absolutely spectacular. Hamilton sounded constipated, which I think happens if you're white-ish and in that role (Twice in a row can't be a coincidence). And I could see their eyes. And the spit flying out of their mouths on onto the conductor's head and each other's costumes. Burr was amazing. Washington was fantastic. Lafayette made a better Jefferson but even his Lafayette was certainly gorgeous. The schuyler sisters where phenomenal. I saw everything except their feet. I saw the dedication in their eyes. I saw every muscle move with absolute precision from head to knee. I was enraptured. The theater was too, when it wasn't in absolute stitches or honest to god tears. I think I had the only dry-ish eye in the theater. But that one person died like 5 feet from my face and his mom could *cry on cue.* I was too blown away to cry. I dont think that's what that one person's dad meant when he said that. But still. BLOWN. AWAY. Seeing that production was the best decision I've ever made. The only decision that might supersede it is seeing it in New York. Also the Hamilton Cocktail is great. I think its just 1 part brandy to 1 part ginger beer with a lime but I ordered it in the souvenir Hamilton cup so obviously it's superior to anything Ive ever had. Tip for Hamilton: see it with the live orchestra with one of the companies that is in one city for like 2 or 3 months.
