Sketch at work. I tried to make a powerful mane with a pen, but then I freaked out and picked up my 2B pencil.

Can you share the backstory of The Court of the Blessed King?
Also, I saw your tag about not wanting to post fic anymore and I’m so sorry to hear that 😢 I enjoy your writing a lot. Not sure if it helps but I’m a mutual who’s been feeling discouraged in a similar way. It’s sucks and I’m rooting for you!
Hi there!
Thank you so much for the ask! I'm so sorry you're in a similar position, it really sucks not to feel motivated to post your works!
(Backstory under the cut! A little bit of it has been featured in the fic, too.)
Griffith's predecessor had no heirs, which was obviously a huge problem. In spite of this, the King refused to heed the counsel of his ministers, which urged him to forsake his wife and find a new, younger one who would surely give him the desired heir.
Once, as he was riding with his troops to the site of a bloody battle, he found little Griffith, the sole survivor in his entire village. The King, being a good-hearted man, took the child with him back to the Royal Palace.
Both the King and Queen had suffered because they had not managed to conceive any children and were happy to welcome little Griffith in their lives. In spite of their old age, they were both good parents to him, for the little time that they managed to spend with their adopted son.
Little Prince Griffith was a very intelligent boy who learned quickly, but he also has a wilder side and loved to wander through the Royal Palace. What he loved most of all, though, was to watch the King's knights as they practiced in the courtyard: and this is how he met young Sir Locus whom, at fifteen, was the youngest.
Sir Locus quickly became Prince Griffith's favourite knight and, because of this, the King appointed him as the Prince's Guardian. When the King lay in his deathbed, he summoned Locus and had him swear before him that he would protect Prince Griffith not only from physical harm, but also from those who lusted after the power he would soon gain.
As King Griffith's Guardian, Sir Locus was with him at all times. But due to his extremely young age — Griffith was only six years old when he was crowned — he also became a sort of carer for him: when the little King was sick, it was Sir Locus who took care of him and when he was afraid, it was Sir Locus that he sought for comfort.
This is why, at the time of the fic, Sir Locus and King Griffith are extremely close and one of the main reasons why Locus is so protective of him. One of my favourite parts will be to explore how Guts will fit in this dynamic.
I hope you like this little piece of lore i choose to share!

Pieta
One of my arts of Griffith and Locus. Even if Locus had to be killed in action, it would be the biggest happy for him.

Making a fan manga of Locus
Almost all of Berserk fans would have once had this question; "How this guy became an apostle?" Yes, so have I.
Locus is my favorite villain from Berserk. He is noble, loyal, and one of the strongest apostles. He hasn't lost his spirit as a knight even after becoming an apostle. That's why I love him.
His backstory is still hidden. We don't know how he became an apostle. I decided to depict what I imagined for his past life in manga. This is not an official, but I believe it has a reality as one episode from the world of Berserk.

I started this manga around the end of 2021, then have been posting the panels on Instagram. It has not been finished yet, but you can read all the pages I drew until now in my account; https://www.instagram.com/shiroyama_berserk/
When it is completed, I will post all the pages in tumblr too.
