ebony/northernfield hoco banter (hhsa) PLEASE

my favorite thing I've ever written for hhsa was their Breakup Scene and their phone conversation in the season finale, so I had the idea to write a bit of their post "divorce" banter to see how much their interactions would change now that they're in their forties, headmasters of rival magic schools, and also DEPRESSED AS HELL.

this would've been set when riverside prep visits hhsa the week before homecoming for some friendly rivalry, which means the homoerotic frenemy energy would've been off the charts. lots of ebony making stupid mean jokes and northernfield blushing furiously and stammering back (and vice versa). a huge chunk about The Titanic VHS. lots of "you didn't wear this much eyeliner when we were kids. did a my chemical romance concert throw up on you?" "how the fuck do you know my chemical romance, northernfield?" "my students like to keep me informed on the trends, although yours apparently don't" and LONGING GLANCES AND DESPERATELY TRYING NOT TO HOLD HIS HAND and most of all, attempting to appear normal in front of a bunch of high schoolers who can clearly tell what's going on. I love them.
