i know i did this to her but thanks i hate it!!!11!!1
some lil thotties
this final breaking of shadowheart's spirit is so good, so poetically sharran. make her suffer loss/tragedy at her own hands, make her break so completely that she seeks relief from the one who gave her that pain, the only one who can take it away. let her taste the devastation of mortal loss, of sacrifice, to make her crave your divine oblivion.
'do what's right. i think i lost sight of that some time ago.' - she says this if you choose not to influence her. it just screams to me that shadowheart's conscience is not completely dead, even after killing aylin and being made DJ. 'better to just serve blindly' - ohh babygirl is so broken she's giving up self agency.
coupled with DJ Shart's (in da hAUS- ok i'll stop) approvals that still seem to tend towards kindness or, at least, away from cruelty even after killing aylin and being shar's chosen...........girl. your heart is literally too kind to be suppressed for long. how will you survive the rest of your life as mother superior? how much of yourself are you sacrificing to wear this mantle that you crawled under to hide from your pain, your wicked deeds?
also found it interesting that shadowheart uses the same silvery selunite magic to free her parents, even as DJ. mechanically, i recognise this is an easy animation reuse, just as it is easier to replace shar with selune in her character sheet after DJ chooses to save her parents instead. there's just no way to fit a religious crisis this close to the end.
lore-wise though...makes me wonder. was selune still waiting for shadowheart to return, even after she murdered aylin? she doesn't seem like a vengeful goddess, though i admit i don't know much d&d lore. did she step in to help her stolen daughter in her time of need, or as an answer to the hallowleaf couple's loyalty?
idk. many thoughts. no brain cells left. good night.
