not that it matters this late in the game but i want to put in a word for my beloved silmarien, and also say something in defense of pelendur, who was the main voice in gondor opposing arvedui's claim in favor of earnil ii, and in defense of earnur especially, who i think is getting a bit unfairly maligned here. (that silmarien should have been queen is the opinion that fire cannot melt out of me, i will die in it at the stake, etc, not least because it does away with the fíriel issue entirely by firmly establishing a legal precedent of strict gender-blind primogeniture from the earliest opportunity in númenor's newly minted line of succession.)

anyway, i'd stand behind fíriel's bid all the way if it were fíriel making the bid. canonically, though, it's a blatant power grab by arvedui and i won't fucking stand for it. like, go on, asshole, tell me you're descended from an unbroken line of 24 firstborn male children. not ONE older sister in the bunch. go on! didn't think so. as pelendur says, "in gondor this heritage is reckoned through the sons only; and we have not heard that the law is otherwise in arnor," implying that this has been an issue before, and arvedui is only showing an interest in the inheritance claims of daughters when it benefits him personally. if he were ACTUALLY concerned with the legal precedent of succession in númenor, he'd have hunted down whatever nth-cousin-m-times-removed was the firstborn child of the firstborn child all the way back to isildur and given them the crown, or at the very least he'd have argued for fíriel's queenship and maybe the high kingship for aranarth after them both. but he didn't, because it was a power grab; malbeth the seer can kiss my fucking ass. "my wife is the rightful heir of ondoher" sure, fine, sounds good "therefore i should be king in gondor" WRONG. INCORRECT. GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL, DO NOT PASS GO, DO NOT COLLECT $200. pelendur was absolutely right to tell his ass to fuck directly the hell off; i'd rather have no king than this shitheel motherfucker.

WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY BOY EARNUR. i'll admit to some degree of personal bias because i love boromir, "a man after the sort of king earnur of old," so i'm disposed to love earnur by association, but also he deserves better than this in his own right. he does bear some measure of responsibility for the succession crisis after his death, but i think the vast majority of blame for that really rests on the post-kinstrife atmosphere in gondor as a whole. to quote rotk appendix a:

now the descendants of the kings had become few. their numbers had been greatly diminished in the kin-strife; whereas since that time the kings had become jealous and watchful of those near akin. often those on whom suspicion fell had fled to umbar and there joined the rebels; while others had renounced their lineage and taken wives not of númenorean blood. so it was that no claimant to the crown could be found who was of pure blood, or whose claim all would allow; and all feared the memory of the kin-strife, knowing that if any such dissension arose again, then gondor would perish.

the whole reason there's a succession crisis after earnur dies is because there are no promising young relatives to name. because gondor, as a whole, has been marinating for generations in the firm conviction that those not of númenorean descent are lesser and will contaminate the bloodline and result in weak kings who die early. and on the other hand, castamir the usurper, long may he fucking rot, was true blue númenorean, and so the kings after him were left with the nagging worry that their relatives who had a better pedigree would do the whole revolt-and-murder-my-kids thing. so you have a bunch of xenophobic assholes who won't accept a king who's not sufficiently númenorean, and a lot of vaguely royal cousins frantically marrying into non-númenorean families to prove they're not a threat, all of which makes a problem greater than one king alone can possibly solve. i don't think it's a stretch to say that even if earnur had named someone who wasn't his own child as his heir, he'd have met with significant opposition in his lifetime, possibly to the point of another civil war. all of which to say: this isn't on earnur, or at least it's no more on him than it is on gondor's virulent númenorean superiority complex, and i personally am inclined to try to take a more understanding view of his choices.

No worries at all! I think you're the first person to ask me, actually XDD It's the first half of Elendil's Oath from the Lord of the Rings; it's also in Quenya, one of the Elvish languages. It means, "Out of the Great Sea to Middle-earth I am come."

If you're interested, the second half of the Oath is, "Sinome maruvan ar Hildinyar tenn' Ambar-metta" meaning, "In this place will I abide, and my heirs, unto the ending of the world."

I had an idea of when Tav & Karlach go back to Avernus, whenever they try to rest and get some sleep Tav being half elf would sing this quietly in Karlach’s ear to help her get a little bit of shut eye, helping her drown out the sound of the blood war even for just a little while.

I know it's Tolkien but still. I’m not sure if this is exactly the same for half elves, but I learned that elves go into trance instead of sleep and relive all their memories? anyway another idea is Tav not realising he is staring at Karlach for too long because he is locking in the memory of her so he can replay it after her engine gives up (before they realise they can go to avernus and get blue prints) and he'll catch himself doing that a lot, throughout the acts of the game and in hell. I read somewhere also that elves can stare at something for what seems like hours to non elves but it is short time for an elf

Eclipse POV

It’s been three days since human Marcus hasn’t been around. Our comet mentioned to us before that he was suspended for a Month but wasn’t fully gotten rid of. With Marcus out of the picture for a bit, the other human scientists have been less aggressive towards the others and I. Even tho I still didn’t trust them after all the things they have put us through.

“You okay clipsy?”

I recognized that sweet and caring voice. I looked to see Y/n standing in front of me as I didn’t realize my chamber was open. “I’m okay comet, was just in my thoughts was all” I got down to Y/n level while I gently moved a strand of her hair to the side. Y/n being the gentle human they were, they lightly caress my cheek as I lean into their hand. “You've been spacing out a lot, Something on your mind clipsy?” Y/n looked at me with a bit of worry as I let out a soft sigh and carefully picked them up.

“If I'm honest, I have been thinking of Lunar” I said to Y/n honestly as he has been in my mind lately. I didn’t want to show my weak side to anyone but with Y/n. It felt safe to show my side of me to them as they did some much to help and protect.

“You miss him a lot” I nodded my head as they spoke and it wasn’t a lie. Y/n cups my face with these small hands as I look at them. They gave me a soft smile as it always made my heart tighten because of how beautiful and warm their smile was to us.

“I’ll do my best and try to find Lunar, I may not know him like you guys do. But I’ll do everything I can to help you guys from some kind of closure”

Y/N POV:

When I reassure Eclipse that I would find Lunar. I knew I would start searching before Marcus came back. When Eclipse put me back down to the ground, I kissed his cheek that caused him to purr happily before I went to check on Sun and Moon. When I opened their chamber and looked inside. Both of the two were sleeping as they cuddled up against each other in the ghostly form.

I smiled as they were cute sleeping together without any disturbance. When I was about to leave to let them be. I saw Sun open one eye to see me as he smiled softly. “Go back to sleep hun, you guys need it” I whisper softly since Moon was sleeping. Sun whined softly and held his hand out towards my direction as I let out a soft chuckle and walked over cause he won’t go back to sleep until he gets his goodnight kiss.

“Alright but you better sleep after this okay” Sun nodded his head softly and closed his eyes as he waited for his kiss. Yes I give the astral’s goodnight kisses cause they liked it for some odd reason. When I lean in and press my lips against Sun’s ghostly face, he lets out a soft purr as I pull back to see Moon awake now with one eye open and look at me.

“Okay you get one too”

Moon smiled and let out a purr as well when I gave him his kiss. As I said my goodnight to the boys as they went back to sleep. I quietly left while leaving the chamber doors open incase Eclipse wanted to go cuddle with Sun and Moon.

Once I left the area and headed towards my office. I saw Simone ahead and he was holding a clipboard in his left hand. “Hey Simone!” I called out to him which caused Simone to stop and turn to see me. “Miss/Mr L/n, What can I do for ya?” Sinome asked in confusion since this was the first time I ever talked to him fully. “Come to my office, I have some questions for you” He looked at me confused but followed nevertheless as we headed to my office. Once we arrived and I opened the door, I let him inside before I entered and closed the door. 

“So what did you want to ask me about?” Simone jumped right into it since he probably knew I wasn’t here to stall. “That depends on if you can keep this quiet between the both of us” I said to him seriously since this was gonna be a risky thing I’m doing. “O-oh um..I’m not..I know you want to help the astral beings as much as I do” I cut Simone off as he froze in shock.

“I-I mean I do but…What if we get in trouble?!” Simone said in a bit of a panic but I stopped him there. “As long as we play normal and not speak about this to anyone then we should be alright til then, now do you want to help or not!” I again said in a serious voice as Simone made a gulp sound and nodded his head. I took a deep breath and exhaled as I had Simone sit down in a seat while I did the same.

“Then I’m gonna need you to be honest with me okay” Simone again nodded his head as he looked nervous as hell. “Alright, now my first question: Is LunarNight really dead or is he alive?” Simone was surprised when I asked him this question which made me think that he knows about Lunar. “Subject 223..I-I mean Lunar? Oh he’s um…” I watched Simone close as he struggled to form complete sentences while he looks like he’s sweating bullets. “It’s a simple yes or No question Simone” I said to him as he let out a sigh of defeat even tho he was promising to help.

“He’s..Alive”

I sat up straight as Simone finally answered the question. I was happy to hear that Lunar’s alive but now the question is. “Where’s Lunar” I asked bluntly since this would be good news to tell the others when it’s the right time. Simone, being nervous and scared, scratched his head before looking at me.

“He’s here…but Marcus has him hidden in a secret room where only he and those he trusts knows where it is”
