Imagine single dad!Hawk often brings his son to the dojo when he can't find a babysitter. Daycare is out of the question because why would he pay for that for a few hours of classes? The dojo is pretty much a daycare already, so why not bring his kid there? It works out sometimes and other times it doesn't.
Little Mason toddles around and squeals, distracting Hawk and his students. Sometimes Daniel is there to watch him and that's alright. Mr. L doesn't mind. In fact, he loves Mason and stays at the dojo on days he isn't supposed to be just to watch him for Hawk. He practically views the toddler as one of his own grandkids.
Then a new sensei joins the dojo to take over classes of older students. Reader is such a great addition to the dojo and she loves working with the middle and high school aged kids. She also enjoys working with Hawk, helping him when his lesson planning or even joining him when he needs a sparring partner to demonstrate certain moves.
She doesn't mind Mason hanging around. In fact, she loves the little guy and misses him when he's not there.
Fast forward a couple of months and Hawk has brought Reader home. They have been shamelessly flirting with each other at the dojo, throwing looks around here and there, and making it obvious that they may have feelings for each other. Their students can see it but when asked what's going on, both senseis avoid the question.
However, there's no avoiding it when Reader wakes up naked in Hawk's bed. Cuddled up to his chest, she smiles about the night before as it comes back to her mind. How he had to cover her mouth with his hand to keep her quiet while he fucked her. How hot it was. How amazing she felt.
She slips out of bed to go to the bathroom, but when she's finished and ready to go back to bed, she hears an odd noise from the other room. Wearing Hawk's sweats and his shirt, she follows the noise to investigate. She ends up in the kitchen.
She finds Mason standing on a step stool trying to cut a banana with a fork. The only issue being that the banana still has its peel on. However, she feels so relieved that he didn't have a knife. That didn't mean the situation was okay, though, as the toddler was quickly becoming frustrated by his lack of progress.
"Heu, buddy," she says walking up to him. "Want some help?"
He looks up at her with a fat pout on his lip. He holds up the fork. "Don't work."
"Well, we have to peel the banana first," she tells him gently, taking the fuirt. "I'll get you started." So she breaks the peel and does one side of it, then holds it out to Mason for him to take the rest of the peel off.
He does and once the fruit is naked, he smiles and claps his hand. Reader returns the banana to the cutting board the young boy had pulled out.
"Now, how do you wanna cut your banana?" she asks.
He makes a circle with his fingers, holding his hands up for her to see. Between his palms, she sees his sweet little face.
"Cirles?" He nods and she smiles. "Alright, we can do that."
He takes up his fork again and she guides his hand in cutting the circles. He giggles and bounces as she does it, basically doing it for him bit making him think he's doing it. He's helping.
"Now we need a plate, don't we?" She asks, putting her hands on her hips in a funny way, almost like a TV character would. He nods and she puts her hand on a cabinet. "Are they in here?"
He shrugs and she opens the cabinet, which when she sees there are no plates there, she lets out an exaggerated "nope, not here!" She does this for each cabinet until they finds the plates and she grabs for for him. He laughs and squeals the while time, his pout all gone.
Once the banana slices are plated up, she helps him take it from the counter to the living room. He almost runs and she has to take long strides just to keep up. He clinbs onto the couch, lays his plate on his lap, and grabs the TV remote. She sits with him and watches watcher kids show is on at that early morning hour.
Hawk wakes up to an empty bed and thinks Reader has left. He's a little sad, hoping she would have stayed. The memories of the night before populate his mind, all her smiles and moans, the feeling of every curve and the way her soft, chubby body felt against his. How she said his name and how it made his heart skip. God, he thought it was a great night.
But he thinks she's left.
He doesn't notice her clothes on the floor as he walks to the bathroom, rubbing his eyes of sleep. Only after he comes back put does he hear some sing-songy tune playing from the other room and laughter.
He walks into the living room to find Reader with Mason, laughing and singing along to whatever show they were watching together. He has banana smushed all over his face and fingers and she's desperately trying to keep him from touching the couch, holding a napkin and his hand as uses his other hand to eat another piece of banana. They're having a great time.
And the sight makes Hawk's heart swell. It sings. It almost explodes.
This sight us the best thing he's ever seen.
Just when he thought he couldn't fall for Reader any more than he already has, she manages to make him fall more and that much harder... he wants to marry her right then and there.
She looks up with a smile and waves just before Mason gets a little angry at the TV and throws a banana at it. She bites her lip to keep from laughing. His finished eating and she takes the plate away, hoping to clean him up entirely now. Hawk comes over and helps.
"Good morning," he says.
She smiles at him. "Morning."

I have been unable to stop thinking about single dad!Hawk with a cute baby boy meeting single mom!Reader who has a cute baby girl for the last day or so I can't even remember.
Like, Idk how or where they meet each other, but I think that they start off as like young single parents who are literally just friends who support each other in that way that only the two of them understand. They have play dates together and let their babies be friends. They go out to eat together or just go on walks pushing the babies in their strollers.
Over time they start falling for each other but since their latest breakups with their babies other parent, they're both scared to commit to anything other than their kids but realize that Mayne if it's with each other, who gets it, who also has a kid, then maybe it can work.
It's just taking over my mind and I'm just obsessed 😭😭
- gemini sensei
@gemini-sensei I kinda have a idea for a small imagine/fic for this.
But I can see them being so chte with each other as they try to figure out what they are.
When they first met it's just a random little meeting. Maybe they are at the park, both of their baby's are able to crawl around, barely even trying to walk yet. Reader is reading a book while her little girl is babbling and moving around. She recently learned ri sit up by herself so when Reader here's her little grunt she just thinks she's trying to get herself up. Suddenly their is rustling from beside her which is definitely not from her little girl. Her eyes widen as she finds a baby not much older then hers now in front of her daughter. It's a little boy from the guess as he has on a little pair of overalls with a little dinosaur om the front and “ Phoenix ” written in cursive underneath it.
He's wobbling around, clearly very very new to walking. He plops down with his hands, sitting next to her daughter. Within seconds they are talking to each other in babble and giggles. Reader looks around for a moment setting her book to the side. Clearly someone was missing their baby.
It was like or was on cue of her thinking this because a second later a loud yell filled the park.
“Phoenix! You can't- crawl off like that buddy! You had me scared!”
A boy her age comes running from a little ways away, a diaper bag on one shoulder and a small blanket under his arm. He huffs a little as he finally joggs his way over and schoops up the boy. He squeals in delight at the boy making her giggle just a little bit, her daughters eyes wonder to where her new friend has gone to. Her head bobs as she tries to stay up right in her new position.
“Hey, at least you found him! Babies can wander off pretty easily even if they are just learning how to walk. My girl is just starting to crawl and she's gotten away from me like two or three times already.” she laughs as she was her daughter gargle.
The guy seems to appreciate her words as he hufffs looking at the boy in his arms. He looks back at her and his face goes a little pink.
“Thanks...It has been pretty rough lately with him hitting all these new milestones. He literally just learned how to start walking this week and he's already managed to get away from me twice. He falls every other step but that doesn't stop him from trying to get away.” he kisses the boy on the head.
“So he's yours? Not your little brother or anything?” she gives him a suspicious look. She had already fallen for the “oh he/she's my kid” spiel a few times now. Sadly there are way to many guys trying to get in a new mom's pants for at least one go before they split town. She got the low down from some of the other teen moms in her local parent group.
He visibly gulps a little as he bounces the baby in his arms a little bit to keep him entertained. He nods saying “Yep 100% mine. We get the whole brother thing a lot...trust me he gets all the good looks from me.” Reader laughs making him grin back.

Single Dad Hawks. Sequel to 'Shiny Leaves and Apple Cider' CW//: mentions of death, depression, mental health, and grieving.
@throneoffirebreathingbitchqueen (you asked me to tag you if I made a sequel. So here it is).
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・🍂🍁
"Suzi! You almost ready up there?"
"I'm coming!"
Keigo shakes his head, a bemused smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. He's got Suzume's little autumn leaf bouquet in one hand and a picnic basket being weighed down by the enormous jug of apple cider that they've been sipping away at for the past week.
He listens to Suzume's footsteps fly across her bedroom floor, various bangs of falling objects echoing throughout the house. He contemplates going up there to prevent any further destruction, but there's already a familiar ache beginning to settle in around his pelvic area and he doesn't want to aggravate the impending flare up by trying to prevent the inevitable disaster that awaits behind Suzume's bedroom door.
She's fine, he convinces himself, She's usually fine. I can clean it up tomorrow–
Another loud bang echoes down the hallway, followed by a clipped "I got it!" from his daughter. Keigo winces.
Yep. Totally fine.
Suzume finally slides into view, bouncing down the stairs with her little backpack and a wide grin. When she gets down to the ground floor, she lunges at him and hugs his middle.
Keigo chuckles, moving the bouquet into his other hand to run a hand through her hair and cup her cheek.
"Ready?"
She nods happily.
Keigo smiles, holding the bouquet out to her, "Here. You can give these to Daddy when we get there. Hold 'em tight, okay?"
She nods again. She takes the bouquet and follows Keigo out to the car, climbing into the back. Keigo tosses the picnic basket beside her and starts to head for the driver's side when he's stopped by a louder than usual "Takami-san!" coming from the opposite house.
Keigo turns. He's greeted by Fumikage running toward the car. He tilts his head to one side and raises a curious brow.
"Hey, Fumi-kun. Something wrong?" He asks.
Fumikage stops to catch his breath, ignoring the silly nickname given to him by Suzume, "You're…you're going to visit Touya, correct?"
Keigo's brows arch in surprise, "How did you–?"
"Suzume told me."
"I invited him!" She exclaims from inside the car.
"Of course she did," he murmurs, still smiling. He looks up back at Fumikage, "Look, you don't have to–"
"I want to."
"Do you, or are you just saying that because you're worried about me and you don't wanna leave me alone when I go?"
Fumikage falls silent, avoiding Keigo's eyes.
Keigo lets out a slow breath through his nose. He reaches out and puts a firm hand on Fumikage's shoulder.
"If you really wanna come, that's fine. But you don't have to keep looking out for me! I'm okay today!"
Fumikage runs an unsure hand up his arm, "There's always a chance that can change.”
Keigo’s smile starts to falter a bit. He can’t say that Fumikage’s wrong in thinking that he could potentially fall apart before the set in a foot in the cemetery – it’s happened so many times before that the chance of it happening again is at least 70% – but, he’s grown now.
He has a kid – well, technically two– who cries when other people cry, and he’ll be damned if he falls into a sobbing puddle in the dirt in front of her. They'd never make it back home if he did. And he’s not that deep in the trenches of his grief. Not anymore.
Of course, he loves and misses Touya. Always has and always will. In truth, some days he can hardly get out of bed because he knows he won’t be there getting up with him, but he’s managed. He’s made it through, and while Touya is gone, he’s never forgotten.
Keigo makes sure of it, in healthier ways than before.
His smile returns to his face, and he nods, “I know. But I promise, if anything does happen or if I get weird, we can leave before it gets even weirder, yeah?”
Fumikage nods hesitantly.
“You can come if you want. I’m not gonna force you to come and babysit or anything.”
Fumikage sighs, “I’m afraid I already ‘pinky promised’ Suzume I would come.”
“Oh yeah. Those’ll getcha. I forgot to stick to Malcolm’s feeding schedule once and I have never heard the end of it since.”
“So, best to assume I’ll never hear the end of it if I don’t attend this outing?”
“Well…”
The horn to the car blares in their ears. They turn to see Suzume has crawled her way to the front, slamming her hand on the center of the steering wheel.
“Papa! We’re gonna be laaaate!”
Keigo chuckles, shaking his head, “We’re coming! We’re coming! Sorry about this, bud.”
“I don’t mind, but we should get going before she does it again.”
Keigo hums in agreement. They climb into the car, Suzume climbing back into her spot in the backseat after some back and forth with Keigo, and they head off. Suzume proudly shows off her bouquet to Fumikage who watches from the rear view mirror and talks his ear off about all the things she’s going to tell Touya once they get there.
Keigo’s got a bit to say too – he always does – but he doesn’t often like to share what he tells Touya since they’re not the most joyful of messages. In a selfish way, he’s sort of glad that Fumikage got coaxed into pinking swearing with Suzume. At least then, his presence can preoccupy Suzume while Keigo gets gross and emotional with his dead boyfriend.
They pull up in front of the cemetery gates. Fumikage helps with the basket as Keigo tries to keep Suzume from running off in excitement. They manage to walk in together despite the 7-year-old’s impatience, passing by the lines of headstones until they get to the end of the grassy lot where someone else has already taken residence in front of Touya’s grave.
Keigo’s heart jumps into his throat when the white-haired woman with the blue flowers turns her head at Suzume’s excited gasp.
“Fuyumi-channn!”
Suzume sprints out of Keigo’s hand and immediately envelopes the eldest Todoroki in a tackle hug. Fuyumi laughs, reciprocating the hug while swinging the little girl around in her arms.
“Hey you! Wow, you’ve gotten so big since the last time I saw you!”
Suzume giggles in response. Fuyumi turns her attention to Keigo and Fumikage, zeroing in on Keigo, who hasn’t moved or said anything since initially being spotted. Her face softens into a smile (she looks so much like her mother. Too much like her mother).
“It’s good to see you again, Kei,” she says much, much too kindly.
Keigo manages a smile of his own, “Good to see you too, Fuyumi-chan.”
“Fuyumi-chan! Look what I made for Daddy!”
Suzume holds up the collection of autumnal leaves and sunflowers to her would-be aunt.
Fuyumi gasps, “Wow, Suzu-chan! Did you make that?”
Suzume nods proudly, “And I did it all by myself!”
Keigo playfully rolls his eyes at the obvious lie and goes to ruffle the top of the little girl’s head, “Go give those to your dad, huh? I’ll be there in a second.”
Suzume nods, racing ahead to carefully set down the bouquet with Fumikage in tow.
“I didn’t realize you’d come back to town,” Keigo says, tucking his hands in his front pockets.
“I’m moving back, actually! Ms. Shuzenji told me about a teaching opportunity that opened up at Masegaki. Figured it would be a good excuse to come back, you know?”
Keigo nods as he tries to push down the discomfort crawling up his gullet.
“Well, we’re glad to have you back. It’s been lonely without you here. Not as sunny as it used to be.”
Fuyumi nods with a hum. “What about you? How’ve you all been? How have you been?”
“We’ve been okay. I’ve been okay.”
“Have you been feeling better? How’s your–”
“It’s fine,” he replies with a shrug, “I’m…I’m as fine as I can be, is what I mean. Nothing’s been too bad yet, so the stuff Toshinori and Chiyoko gave me seem to be workin’.”
“That’s good! That’s…really good. I’m glad you’re feeling better.”
Keigo raises a brow, “That’s not the only thing you meant, was it?”
Fuyumi presses her lips into a thin line, avoiding his eyes. Keigo steps toward her and pulls her into a hug before she can come up with something to deflect.
“I’m okay,” he says, patting her back, “I’m…actually doing better now. I promise.”
Fuyumi sighs, slowly reciprocating. “I missed you a lot.”
“I missed you too.”
“I was worried when you stopped calling and stopped texting as much, I–”
“I know. I…I’m sorry. I was going through it for a bit and I sort of dropped off the face of the earth for a bit. You didn’t deserve that. I shoulda said something, I just…I didn’t know how.”
“It’s okay,” she pulls away, holding his hands, “I’m just so glad you’re doing better now.”
Keigo smiles, “Come on. Touya’s waiting.”
She nods.
They arrive at the foot of the grave. Suzume’s already having a full-blown conversation about the past few months with Touya’s gravestone as if it were her father himself and it makes Keigo’s heart ache. He blinks back the water works before any tears hit his cheeks.
Suzume only stops talking when she realizes that the adults have returned and that they’re standing right behind her. She whips her head to them, then back to Touya.
“Oh! Papa and Fuyumi-chan are back. I’ll let you talk to them ‘cause I don’t wanna make ‘em wait. Papa’s been wanting to see you for foreeeeveeerrr! But we can talk more later!”
Keigo and Fuyumi share a small chuckle. Suzume scoots out of the way to leave room for the two. Keigo steps forward and kneels in front of the gravestone.
Someone’s been before them. There’s a bouquet of bluebells in one of the colorful glass vases right beside Suzume’s bouquet. The picture’s been cleaned, too. Touya’s toothy grin is shinier than the last time he saw it, but then again their last visit was about four months ago. Keigo smiles back at him, running his thumb over the edges of the frame.
“Hey, firefly,” he says softly, “Good to see you again. Sorry it’s been so long. It's been a rough couple a months, but we’re good now. I think Su already told you about that, though.”
“Almost!” Suzume exclaims.
Keigo chuckles, “So she almost did. She’ll probably tell you the rest later though.”
He turns back to Fuyumi, “Your sister’s back. For good, this time. She’s missed you too.”
Fuyumi kneels down next to him, taking her flowers and placing them in one of the vases.
“Hi Touya. I’m back. I got a job at Suzume’s school, so I’ll be around a lot more often. Hope you won’t get too sick of me being here, cause I’m gonna be visiting a lot more often. I might even bring Sho and Natsuo with me one of these days!”
Keigo’s hand tightens around his knee, “We brought you somethin’. It’s your favorite.”
Fumikage hands him the jug of cider and Touya’s old mason jar. He pours until it almost overflows. He holds it out to the grave, chugs half of it, and pours the rest into the earth.
“Bottoms up, babe. Might not be exactly how we make it, but we got a baby to think about, you know? Hope it’s still good though.”
The jar empties pretty quickly and Keigo packs it away along with the food.
"Su and I made it a while ago. I taught her how. Been trying to teach her a lot of things now, like you would've. Though I don't think she's ready for ATV's just yet."
Keigo's smile starts to waver the longer he stares at the photo. It's the one "nice" they had of him that wasn't him making dumb faces or gestures at the camera. The one nice school photo that Rei bribed him to take in exchange for his truck that's still in their garage.
That photo…No, it's not just the photo – it's all of it.
It's the fact that there' isn't even a body under the earth they're sitting on. Only a plot and grave because of the fire that reduced his lover to ash alongside the old pool hall, blown away by the wind.
It's the fact that with each passing day, Suzume's getting older, Keigo's being stretched thin to keep up because he hates inconveniencing people, and Touya isn't here to see any of it.
It's the silence he wakes up to, it's the absence of his other half, it's the chilling isolation he feels when Suzume and Fumikage are at school and everyone's at work and he's left in the house, by himself. (Well, he's not completely alone if you count the bird.)
It’s that he spent most of his life with one, beautiful person only to have him brutally stripped away from him in one night.
He feels Fuyumi’s hand squeeze his shoulder. He takes a breath and looks back at Suzume.
“Hey, Suzu. You wanna finish talking to your dad?”
“Yeah!”
“Go ahead.”
He scoots back as she shuffles to the grave on her knees and immediately gets to work chirping away. He lays on his side as he watches her talk. And maybe it’s because he’s already succumbing to his sad thoughts so early in the game, but it’s on day’s like these that she looks so much like him. Where the turquoise in her eyes overtakes the yellow and her smile shapes into his.
That’s how he keeps his smile in his life some days – through her.
Fuyumi and Fumikage keep him distracted. They have lunch and try to talk about happier times. They dance around the recent Todoroki family fights and whether or not Fuyumi’s really here for a job opportunity or to look out for her siblings when it comes to their dad.
They remind themselves of all the good times they had with Touya – all the rated R movies they snuck into late at night, the high school dances with spiked punch and mosh pits, the illegal parties down at the old mines on Thursday nights.
School dances, recitals, stolen kisses in between classes, detentions – they talk about it all and for hours, much to Fumikage’s secondhand embarrassment.
They don’t realize how much time has passed until Suzume’s shadow crawls into Keigo’s lap before she does. Her head falls onto his knee, burying her face in his denim.
“Oh, you okay, Su?”
“ ‘M tired,” she mumbles, yawning big.
Keigo turns his head up to the sky, painted orange and pink by the setting sun.
“Oh man. Guess we’ve been out here longer than we thought, huh? We should probably head out now.”
“Yeah, I guess we should…,” Fuyumi agrees with a bit of hesitence, “I’ll help pack up.”
Fuyumi folds up the picnic blanket and packs it away into the basket with Fumikage. Keigo picks up Suzume and carries her close to his chest. He steps over to Touya’s grave and angles her down a little.
“Say bye to your dad, Su.”
“Bye, Daddy,” she sleepily says, waving at him before her head rolls back onto Keigo’s shoulder.
Keigo shifts her to the other arm. He presses two fingers to his lips, then to the edge of Touya’s gravestone.
“See ya next time, babe,” he says softly, “Love you.”
Fuyumi goes to do the same, saying her own little goodbye to him before joining them.
“Okay,” Keigo says, adjusting to the now sleeping Suzume, “We ready?”
“Actually, uh…May I…say something to Touya?”
Fuyumi and Keigo exchange a wide eye look.
“O-oh, you…you sure?” Keigo asks.
Fumikage nods.
“Okay, uh. Go – Go ahead.”
Fumikage shuffles to Touya’s gravestone and crouches in front of it. Keigo and Fuyumi turn their heads to avoid embarrassing him any further.
“Hello again, Touya-san. I’m…not quite sure how to phrase this. I’ve never really done this before, so forgive me if I misspeak. I…I wanted to tell you that I’m doing my best to look after Suzume and Takami-san. Not that he needs it – or so he says. We’re all doing fine, so I hope that brings you some comfort wherever you might be. And I promise to keep it that way as long as I still stand. I won’t let anything bad come their way. Whether Takami-san likes it or not.”
Keigo chuckles into Suzume’s hair, brushing some of the strands out of her face as his heart starts to swell.
“I won’t take up any more of your time. Just needed you to know that someone is looking out for them. Goodbye.”
He rises from his spot and hurriedly walks over past them to the car. Keigo and Fuyumi follow after him, sharing an almost tearful laugh. They exit the cemetery. Keigo hands off the keys to Fumikage and tells him to open it up while he talks with Fuyumi. Fumikage goes on ahead.
“It was good seeing you, Yumi. Really, you have no idea how glad I am to have you back,” Keigo says.
“Glad to be back, Kei. And hey, if you ever need anything – anything it all – just give me a call, yeah?”
“Yeah–”
“I mean it! Even if it’s stupid, I’ll be there. I am your sister-in-law, aren’t I?”
Keigo smiles warmly. He reaches out a free arm and pulls Fuyumi into the best hug he can manage with the sleeping child in his arms.
“Thank you.”
Fuyumi grabs his jacket tightly, “No problem, Kei.”
They hold one another for a long time, leaving a million things said and unsaid in this moment – probably never to touch on any of it so they can preserve what good they have left.
Suzume starts to stir, squirming around in Keigo’s arms. Keigo smiles down at her, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.
“I’ll leave you to it,” Fuyumi bends a little, “Bye, Suzu-chan. Sleep well!”
“Drive safe.”
“You too!”
They part ways. Keigo watches Fuyumi until she’s safely in her car before he turns around, closing his jacket around Suzume on their walk to the car. He carefully sits her in the backseat, quietly shutting the door and sliding into the front.
“Man, she must’ve really tired herself out talking today, huh,” Keigo whispers to Fumikage.
“She likes to talk,” Fumikage deadpans.
Keigo adjusts the mirror to see Suzume in the back.
“Yeah, she sure does.”
“Hey.”
Keigo turns his head to Fumikage, “Yeah, Fumi-kun?”
“Are you still okay?”
Keigo looks at him.
He looks at him, then back at Suzume in the rear view, and then at his reflection in the window behind Fumikage. Past that is the cemetery gates.
The place where Touya should have slept.
“Yeah…I’m still okay. I’ll still be okay.”
‘We’re all still here, Touya. All still okay. Hope you are too.’

Hello! 💃 This one for Raina and Garrett? -🌾 Describe your OC through the eyes of someone absolutely head-over-heels in love with them
Good afternoon! 🦄
I already did it for Raina here, but you know. I'll do another that has the pair of them. Again, twisting it a little, it's platonic, genitorial love and not romantic (Garrett is a Fenrismancer and if I try to imagine Fenris speaking with someone in those terms... He's either very VERY drunk and meh. I don't know, it's not going out. So here you go.)
Tis the ask game
🌾 Describe your OC through the eyes of someone absolutely head-over-heels in love with them
13 Wintermarch, 9:24
My dearest, beloved Leandra, apple of my eyes,
I love you more than you can imagine, you know it. Think about how much you think I love you, double it up and that is how much I do.
But for the love of the Maker, we are fine, we are not going to starve because you decided to leave for a couple of days, I swear. Stay where you are with the twins, we just need the pair of them to get sick as well. We three are managing, no one is starved already, the house is not on fire. Shoo, you hard-headed woman, begone temptress!
And no, Raina hasn't chopped off all her hair, every insinuation that I would let her do something that you never made a mistery would upset you so much hurts me deeply and profoundly, love. How darest thou imply that I would wait for your departure and commit such a betrayal as to handle her a pair of scissors. My poor, poor heart is bleeding in front of such mistrust on my behalf, I am, indeed, not always on her side and I expect you to mend it carefully when we'll be healthy again.
Jokes aside (but I do expect you to mend my heart when you return, that wasn't a joke. I do miss you so).
Garrett is being strong. He's not happy to be bed ridden, but he's managing and realising it's for his own good, and keeping up, between a complaint and the other. He sounds way worse than he actually is, but I find it hard to fault him for being a little theatrical. He's a good kid, very responsible, he can be allowed being dramatic if it pleases him. As soon as his fever will break a little I will try to teach him some healing spells, that could help lots with his mood too. He's sulking a little and wishing to go back outside. He thinks I can't see him when he rolls in his blanket and just drags himself over to the window, but I can. I won't allow him to go play in the snow, my love, worry not. He's just a little bored and he never fared well closed in a house, as per his usual having something to do and helping me out will get him back to his usual cheer in no time. I can't wait for him to go back to make silly jokes, I really miss them in spite of everything.
As for Raina. You know her. Restless and almost impossible to keep in her bed. No matter how sweaty or shivering she is. I caught her before in the kitchen trying to cook, saying I was sick as well and I needed some soup. That she wasn't that bad, she could cook today. All this when leaning against the wall because the fever got her head spinning. We ended up cooking together (it is Friday, after all), sick and sneezing as we were. The stew was... Something, you didn't miss anything out. But she felt better, as she does when she feel useful, and the effort made her and her brother fall asleep in no time right after dinner. They will wake up refreshened and slightly better, I hope. Raina didn't wake when I healed her, go figure. I know what you're saying and no. Or well yes, she is indeed stubborn as a mule (like her mother. Yes I am only writing this because you're not here to grumble at me, love, forgive me), but she's tender inside. Not weak, by all means, I am sure she could tear down the whole town on her own, if she put her mind to it. But she cares so deeply about everything that she comes off as headstrong, and is too affected by what happens around her (I know you would say, here, that she's just like me. I couldn't be more proud).
We made four great kids, Lea, you know it? I am here writing, a graveyard of dirty handkerchiefs around me, the fire stoked high and a temperature that would make this living room the perfect nest for dragon eggs to hatch, Raina and Garrett exhausted and asleep on two sides of the couch, rolled in blanket and sweating the fever out. And I find am happy with the life we built. I am happy with our headstrong Raina that cares so much, with Garrett and how gentle he is, with Carver that doesn't need to prove himself so much, but is loved all the more because he does, and with little Bethany, so sweet and clever. And with you, who somehow listened to me all those years ago when I asked you to run with me and didn't take it as the latest delirium of a madman. I am happy we've been madmen, the both of us. Look where it brought us, love.
I will leave down the quill, stop heeding the fever making me melancholic, now, and do as you would no doubt tell me. Curl up on that couch myself, get some rest, remember to take care of myself as well. See? You're never really gone. I wonder if you know all that I am writing already.
Yet answer me, love, as soon as you can. I will send out this one next morning, when the doctor will come visit us. I hope you'll arrive before your letter, but write it anyway. Indulge me like this, now, and it will be better medicine than all the spirits in the Fade.
With all my love and hopefully none of my germs. But they are too in love with you and I can hardly blame them,
Malcolm.
#oc soft asks#raina hawke#garrett hawke#malcolm hawke#he's the kind of dad that will burst out crying all his tears at every single school play#and yell out of his lungs THAT'S MY CHILD! THE THIRD TREE ON THE LEFT! HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A BETTER TREE? *gross sobbing*

Eddie started finding notes in his locker his sophomore year. The first couple of them, he just tossed without reading. He didn’t need to read what those asshole bullies wanted to say about him. But curiosity won out after two weeks of constant notes and he finally opened one. It was the single most impactful thing he’d ever read.
I think you’re the prettiest boy I’ve ever seen.
He kept that note. And every other note he got from that point on. If anyone were to ask Eddie what he regretted most in his life, it would be those two weeks of notes he tossed without reading. Ten slips of paper with unknown writing that he wishes he could get back. Add them to his ‘mystery boys notes’ box. And he was a mystery, the note writer. Anonymous. Unknown. Impossible to catch.
Eddie held out for a month. A whole month before he decided to stage a stake out. He watched his locker like a hawk. In between classes, during classes, lunch, after school and even one absolutely horrible day where he came in an hour before school started. But the mystery boy had to be invisible. He never saw anyone approach his locker but his daily note was always there. And Eddie; poor, unfortunate, infatuated Eddie dealt with mystery boys’ notes from ‘82 to ‘85. Four agonizing years of the most heart-warming, loving notes.
I wish I was as brave as you.
Did you change your shampoo? Your hair looked so soft today.
God, your eyes have to be the biggest fucking eyes I’ve ever seen. So pretty.
I like how long your hair is getting.
Saw you walking down the hall today and I’ve never wanted to kiss someone more.
They started cute. Compliments here and there, even a doodle every once in a while. Hearts and smiley faces. But as the months and years went by, the mystery boy got deeper. Confessions and secrets.
I think if I had a different dad, we would’ve been best friends.
Can you fall in love with someone you’ve never talked to?
I dream about us.
I’m a boy. I’m sorry.
I want to hold your hand. Those rings are something else.
I saw you trying to catch me. Adorable.
I wish I could take you on a date. Not give a shit what my dad would say or what people would think.
I wish I could be brave enough to talk to you.
You’re still the prettiest boy I’ve ever seen.
I’m graduating this year. I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you. I think I’m going to try to figure out a way to keep dropping these off next year. I don’t want you to forget about me.
The notes didn’t continue when the school year started. Eddie was embarrassed to admit he cried that first night. He wasn’t sure how the mystery boy was going to be able to get the notes to him but he fully believed it was going to happen. He went five weeks with no daily note in his locker. And then, it showed up on a Monday. He almost missed it, the tiny slip of paper.
Sorry this took so long. Had to figure out how I was going to sneak these in here. I don’t think I’ll be able to call you pretty every day of the week this time around but I’m going to try my best!
And mystery boy was right. The notes were always there on Monday. Just Monday. But Eddie didn’t complain. One note a week after five weeks of nothing almost had his heart bursting from his chest. It also narrowed down his search. Sort of. Mystery boy was either coming in on those Mondays to drop off the note, sneaking in on the weekends when the school was empty OR after school on Fridays. And look, he’s failed to graduate high school two times in a row now but he wasn’t stupid. Did it take him three months after the notes to start again for him to realize who it was? Yes but to be fair, for two of those months it was Eddie wallowing in denial.
Five weeks into school was when he restarted Hellfire. Three weeks before that was when he brought in those new little freshman sheepies. The same freshman sheepies that got picked up by Steve Harrington. Steve Harrington who graduated last year. Steve Harrington who he catches staring at him from his beemer in the parking lot every Friday night before he takes the kiddies home. Steve who he categorizes as someone who is so far out of his league that it just couldn’t be him. But it’s been three months and there isn’t any other former Hawkins high student running around in or near the school. And now that Eddie’s almost certain Steve has been mystery boy these past few years, he can’t wait. He’s been in love with a figure made out of slips of paper for four years and his nonexistent patience has truly run thin.
He calls for a break 15 minutes before they normally end their sessions. Tells the boys he needs to run to the bathroom and almost sprints out the door. His locker sits in the hallway just around the corner of the drama room. The door closing shut echos through the empty hallways, alongside the squeaks coming from his shoes as he hustles towards his locker. He freezes as soon as he turns the corner.
Steve probably only had 30 seconds after hearing the door open and shut to process what he was going to do. He could’ve run or hid, maybe pretend like he just needed the bathroom while he waited. But Eddie watched him pause as they made eye contact instead. Watched as Steve looked him up and down. Watched him relax and lean back against the lockers behind him with a lazy smirk. His arm slowly moved up and Eddie could see a slip of paper held between his fingers. Steve didn’t break eye contact with him at all as he proceeded to shove the paper between the vents of his locker. They stayed like that for what felt like hours. Staring. Broken when Steve pushed himself off the wall and walked towards him. He didn’t stop. Side stepped around Eddie before they could collide. A faint brush of his fingers along the back of his hand as he walked past him. And Eddie just watched him pass. Just like he watched him slip that note in his locker, he watched Steve walk back down the hall and out the front doors.
He waited only five seconds after the doors closed behind Steve before he jogged over to his locker. Grabbed the note and shoved it into his pocket before running back over to the drama room. Told the guys that they stopped at a decent spot and would meet again next Friday. Walked with them to the parking lot to head home. To catch a glimpse of Steve. And there he was, sitting in his beemer, staring again. This time though, Eddie smiled at him. He smiled at him and pulled the note out of his pocket. Opened it right there in the parking lot while he stared back at Steve. It only took him a few seconds to glance down to read. And as soon as he did, he threw his head back and laughed. Cackled really. He looked back at the beemer and saw Steve with the widest grin. Watched him lift his fingers off the steering wheel and wiggle them at him before he started pulling out of the lot. He looked back down at the note in his hand and chuckled again. Who knew Steve Harrington knew DnD well enough to draw a perfect rendition of an eight sided dice?
Wanna go on a d8? - Steve Harrington xxx-xxx-xxxx

Texting.
Reader: not mentioned.
characters: all characters i write for (besides kota and eri)
type: can be read as both platonic and romantic
sumarry: how i think the mha characters would text.
warnings: possible swearing, denki being denki.
👾Mina Ashido👾
she abuses her emoji privledges. like nobody will ever receive a message from her that doesn't have an emoji. lots of all caps.
👓Tenya Iida👓
oh you were texting him? bitch writes as if he's writing a formal email. your ass is lucky that he doesn't start that shit off with "I hope this message finds you well.". not even kidding will proof read every message he sends at least twice.
♾️Ochaco Uraraka♾️
will end every message that isnt on a serious topic with :D. its so sweet tbh.
⚡Denki Kaminari⚡
this man uses so many abbreviations that even if you think you use a lot just know you're learning a new one everyday. not even kidding makes up his own shit. once sent mina "lmkiydthesicci" and nobody could figure out wtf he meant. lowkey flirting with every mssg he sends. every single person in the class, girl or not has received a message from him that just says "hey bbg ;)". he received a very long lecture from iida and a very confused reply from todoroki. todoroki didn't actually know wtf bbg meant. thought he misspelled bbq at first.
🪨Kirishima🪨
unironically sends messages that just say "rawr". uses the :} face a lot bc he thinks it looks like his unbreakable.
🐙Mezou Shoji🐙
i feel like he has such a low screentime that if anyone needs to text him he's only available for like an hour a day. accidentally leaves ppl on read. messages seem very bland usually.
❄️Shoto Todoroki🔥
another bland person but tbh hes the worst out of them all. like he can look at a whole paragraph asking him if he wants to go to the movies with the rest of the class and all he will reply with is just "ok." uses periods at the end of every message but I swear he's not mad.
💥 Bakugo💥
if he receives any messages past 8pm the "reply" will be you getting left on delivered even if he's still up, or a message just saying "shut the fuck up and go to bed.". also bland but he's more of a "k" bland rather than a "ok." bland.
🥦Izuku Midoryia🥦
he will not even kidding receive a message that just says "hi" and will send a whole paragraph that is basically just a lengthened "hi! how are you?". uses the smiley emoji a lot.
💫Momo Yaoyorozu💫
lots of ! at the end of messages, you can feel the happiness through your phone screen. uses heart emojis at the end of messages and memorizes the meaning of each color so she can use them accordingly.
🖤Shihai Kuroiro🖤
another :} user, sometimes uses :] but mainly :}. only ever texts ppl at hours like 2-4 am. you cant convince me he gets enough sleep.
👔Neito Monoma👔
you think hed text you?/j kinda just an average texter, any message about class 1a will be in all caps.
😈Dabi😈
oh look. another bland ass texter, at least he takes the time to actually type out "okay," only sends emojis if he's talking about how weird the emoji looks.
🔪Himiko Toga🔪
uses :] all the time. not :}, or :). just :]. if anyone texts her, even if its just a simple "hi." and she isn't busy, congrats you've agreed to a 3 hour face time call.
✋Tomura Shigaraki✋
he leaves everyone on read. if you question why he left you on read all you're getting is an "if its so important then talk to me face to face."
🃏Mr. Compress🃏
so you know how earlier i said you were lucky Iida didnt start with "I hope this message finds you well,"? your luck ran out. he writes it like you're a long distant friend who he is sending some fancy ass shit letter to. not even kidding ends each message with "--Compress."
🪽Hawks🪽
types so fast his phone doesnt even register his hands. half his messages be looking like "se tht ouds ood". he doesn't even bother to edit it or correct himself.
👁️Aizawa👁️
he texts like a dad. texting this mf be like:
"ok👍"
"*photo of a weird boat*"
🌙Midnight🌙
miss girl uses so many ;) that its hard to tell if shes suggesting something weird or not. ended every greetings message with that one kissy emoji.
🙂Mirio Togata🙂
uses the 🙂 all the time because he thinks it looks like him. it does.
🌀Nejire Hado🌀
lots of !!! and :D, also uses the :> a lot lol. lots of blue heart emojis aswell.
🦋Tamaki Amajiki🦋
sends articles about different butterflies he likes or thinks the person he sends it to would like along with a message along the lines of "I think this fits you :]". rarely texts first but when he does he clicks send and sitts on the other side of the bed as his phone while staring at it intensely, just waiting for the reply notif. wont actually read the reply for a good minute.
🐈⬛Hitoshi Shinsou🐈⬛
sends photos of random animals he sees while out and about. usually just cats. (no way this man doesn't feed the strays around ua) another person that only texts at night time.
🛠️Mei Hastume🛠️
uses >:D a lot, shows blueprints of her new babies all the time, ngl they are usually rlly messy. texts are just :
"LOOK AT THIS NEW BABY IN PROGRESS >:D"
"* incomprehensible image of a blueprint *"
⭐Yo Shindo⭐
uses the thumbs up way to much but like in the passive aggresive way yk? but also if you send him a photo of something ur proud of he will reply with a simple "oh that's cool!" but there's so much fucking emotion behind it ur just kinda like ???
🛡Melissa Shield🛡
her messages are so sweet. sunset pictures of the ocean every other day. lots of :).
wrote this is one go and now my hands hate me. i think this was at least 20 characters-? idk I'm struggling to count.

Little Family | Single Dad!Hawk Moskowitz x Best Friend!Reader
Based off of this idea: Xx
Hawk was exhausted as he came home, feeling the weight of the day come down on his shoulders. He'd gotten up early to spend time with his son, Mason, before he went to work, where he had to look over three different classes throughout the day. He loved the kids he taught, but today they'd all chosen to be little demons and not listen to a lot of his instruction. Then he had to do paperwork before he could leave the dojo, but he had to go to the grocery store before he could even go home. So saying he was exhausted was an understatement in all reality.
He grabbed the grocery bags and walked to the door, stepping inside to a mostly quiet house. In the distance, he heard a kid's show playing on the TV and he imagined his son was happily watching his favorite show. He went to the kitchen and started putting up the food he'd bought, preheating the oven for a frozen pizza for himself.
"Eli? Is that you?" Reader calls out from the next room.
He smiled. "Yeah, it's me."
He put away the last of his groceries and walked into the living room. His son's favorite show was playing on the TV as he thought it would be and Reader was sitting with Mason on her lap as they watched. However, as soon as Hawk was in view, Mason didn't care about the show anymore. He started babbling and making grabbing hands up at him, smiling happily.
Hawk picked him up and kissed his cheek. "Hey, little man. How's your day been?"
Mason giggled and hugged his daddy, leaning against him. He was so happy to see his dad after the long day they'd each had. Well, to Mason it felt like a long day for such a little baby.
"We've had a pretty great day," Reader told him, standing up and stretching. She sighed as her muscles released tension. "We went on a walk and met a puppy! That was so much fun, wasn't it Mason?"
The baby babbled incoherently as if he was holding a conversation with them. When he was done, he rested his head on Hawk's shoulder and hugged him, holding on. It was obvious that he missed his daddy even if it was just for a day.
The three of them hung out for a while, eventually leading Hawk to give Mason a bath while Reader tidied up the living room and kitchen. She came in to say goodnight to Mason once he was in his pajamas and tucked into his crib. Hawk watched as she read him to sleep and then slipped out of the room with her. Then they ordered takeout.
"I can't thank you enough for all of this," he said over chow mein. He watched her smile.
"You don't have to thank me, Eli," she told him. "This is what friends do."
Friends, Eli thought to himself. If only we were more than that.
They finished their late dinner and put it away in the fridge. Hawk washed baby bottles in the sink while Reader rearranged the fridge to make room for their takeout boxes. He watched her over his shoulder, unable to keep his eyes off of her. When she finally shut the fridge, he turned his attention to the sink and kept washing. She came up beside him and rolled up her sleeves to help.
"I've got this," she said, smiling at him. "You go relax."
"I'm okay. I should be doing this anyway," he told her. He looked at her. "He's my kid after all."
She nudged his shoulder with her own and giggled. "Yeah, but you also work your ass off. You deserve a little time to relax, you know?"
"No such thing with that little guy around," he laughed. It was affectionate, as he never held any ill thoughts or feelings toward his son. He'd never trade being a dad for anything in the world. He loved it. "Really, this is nothing."
He put the clean bottles in the drying rack and washed his hands. He turned to Reader as she did the same. He passed her a kitchen towel to dry her hands with.
"Thanks," she said, taking it. However, before she dried her hands, she flicked the remaining water on them at him. He covered his face but still felt the droplets hit his arm.
"Oh, so that's how it's gonna be," he said, smirking at her.
She quickly dried her hands and threw the towel at him as he charged at her, laughing as he caught her around the waist and backed her up against the counter, effectively cornering her. He then began to mercilessly tickle her and she covered her mouth to keep from laughing too loud. It came out muffled and pitched, hopefully not too loud that Mason woke up. However, neither of them heard anything and Hawk's fingers continued to dance across her sides.
She held in her laughter and started hitting him on the shoulder in an attempt to make him stop, though it seemed futile. He was lean with hard muscle all over his body, on top of the fact that she wasn't trying to actually hurt him, so she was doing nothing.
However, he did stop after she started shoving him away, giggling harder than she should be. He laughed as she stood tall, looking at her as she tried to catch her breath. Her face was warm and only grew hotter when she realized how close he was standing to her.
"Hey," she said, smiling at him.
He licked his lips as he looked at her. "Hey."
Nothing more needed to be said as over a decade's worth of friendship made a magnetic pull between them. He took hold of her thick waist and brought her close as she reached for his face. Their lips touched soon after and an explosion of heat erupted. It was by far the best feeling in the world. Reader threw her arms around his neck and pulled him even closer, pressing her body against him. He pinned her to the counter and braced a hand on the top, holding her around the waist as they melted into each other.
They broke away from each other with a desperate need for air. However, it wasn't as strong as their desire for each other. His lips descended on her neck and he breathed in her scent with the cool air of the kitchen. Her hands laid on the back of his neck and shoulders as he peppered kisses along her skin. One of his hands slipped up her shirt to hold her bare side, squeezing the soft rolls there.
"Eli," she breathed out.
They looked at each other, then kissed again. He led her to his bedroom without breaking it, which came with its hazards. They stumbled and bumped into the walls, stopping only when they remembered Mason was in the other room. They listened for his cry but it never came, and they giggled together before she took his hand and walked the rest of the way to his bed. She fell onto it as if falling onto soft clouds, sure in its ability to catch her. He crawled over her and kissed her again.
In no time, they were naked and rubbing against each other. They couldn't stand to stay apart from each other, laying chest to chest as he thrust in and out of her wet heat. She moaned in his ear or mouth as they shared passion. Their years of friendship turned into something more as she wrapped her legs around him and he left hickeys along her neck. They stayed quiet, holding each other as they whispered sweet nothings to each other.
When it was over, he pulled out and collapsed on top of her. His head rested on her tits and he held her waist while her hands combed through his sweat-soaked hair. It came out of its gelled-up state with her help, not that he cared. She was one of the few people he let see him without it done up. He trusted her and liked when she played with it in all honesty.
"Eli," she said softly, tiredly.
He looked up at her. "Yeah?"
"I love you."
He stared at her, then leaned up and pecked her lips. "I love you too."
She smiled, and they soon fell asleep like that.
Reader might as well move in with how much she came over to see Hawk and Mason. She volunteered to babysit Mason more often than not, allowing Hawk the time to go to work like he needed. She even stayed over some nights to wash their laundry and ensure Hawk had clean clothes to wear to the dojo. She even brought over a toothbrush, so to say they were serious about each other was an understatement.
As Reader sat on the toilet with a little plastic stick in her hand, she hoped he was as serious as she was.
Annoyed, she shook it, as if that would make the results come up faster. She bit her lip as she looked at it, but it was still loading.
"Dammit," she sighed and laid the stick on the countertop. She stood up and started pacing the length of the small room, hands on her hips. "Shit shit shit."
When she thought back on that night they shared together, she didn't think it would have come to this. Sure, they were in a relationship, but between Mason and both of them working, they had little time for sex. It was one time, but she failed to believe that it only took one time to fall pregnant.
A knock came to the door and she jumped, turning to it. Hawk's voice came from the other side. "Hey, Reader, you okay in there?"
She peeked at the test. It was still loading. "Yeah, I'm okay."
"Alright, sorry to bother you," he said. There was some incoherent babbling alongside his voice and he laughed softly. "She'll be out soon, little man."
She listened to his footsteps fade down the small hallway outside. When she didn't hear them anymore, she took a deep breath and closed her eyes, then let it out slowly.
After calming her nerves, she turned back to the test and picked it up. As she stared at the small screen, her heartbeat picked up again. Pregnant, it read.
Quickly slipping it into her back pocket, she walked out of the bathroom with shaking hands. How was she supposed to go out there, face her best friend/boyfriend who already had a baby, and tell him she was pregnant with his second child? Her mind ran blank.
As she entered the living room, she found Hawk and Mason having a little dance party. Whatever song was playing was from the show Mason was watching. His dance moves weren't much either. He was standing with Hawk's help and shaking his butt while Hawk held his hands and did a little dance of his own. They were so cute.
It was one of those rare days Hawk had off from work. He loved spending them with Mason and Reader, usually just lounging around at home. They were fun days, some of the best they had together in recent times. But now she was terrified that could all come to an end.
It made little to no sense to her, as she knew Hawk loved Mason, but the irrational fear that he wouldn't love another baby as much scared her. What if he didn't want her anymore? What if this was how they ended things? Where would she go from here? To Demetri and Yasmine? Fat chance of that happening.
Hawk saw her standing in the doorway with a stricken and gaunt look on her face. He picked up Mason and held him on his hip, watching her carefully. He walked up to her, catching her attention with a gentle, "Hey."
She stared at him. "Hey."
"You okay?"
She continued to stare, then reached behind her and pulled the pregnancy test from her pocket. At the same time, Mason reached for her. She tried to smile at him, then held out the test to Hawk and put her other arm out for Mason. They effectively switched off.
Hawk became stunned by what she just handed him while Reader sought out some comfort from holding the cute baby. Mason hugged her and smiled, unaware of the shifting tides around him. He was just happy to be in the arms of someone he loved so much and who loved him.
"Is this real?" Hawk asked dumbly. He looked up at her as she nodded. "You're pregnant?"
"Yeah," she breathed out, a little shaky. "I'm sorry."
"What?" he asked. He was quiet for a moment, then blinked. "Why are you sorry?"
"Because I know you didn't want this and we just got together and you already have a lot on your hands right now," she let out in a rush. She took a deep breath. Tears collected in her eyes and she tried her best to blink them away. It did very little. "I just- I don't want to ruin things with you."
Hawk was stunned silent as he listened to her every word, realizing she was just as terrified as he was. In the meantime, Mason realized something was wrong and tried to fix it.
He began babbling as he looked at Reader, reaching up and wiping away her tears. She looked at him and smiled thankfully, understanding that he was trying his best. When her tears kept falling, he pouted.
"Reader," Hawk said, catching her attention again. He held up the test. "This doesn't ruin anything. I want this. I want you."
He set the test down and came up to her, wrapping her up in his arms and hugging her close, kissing her head. He then kissed Mason's head. He whispered to her softly, "It's a lot to have at once, but I want this. You've been in my life for as long as I can remember and I don't want that to change." He let himself be as vulnerable as he's allowed since Mason was born. "Just... just don't leave, please."
She rested her head on his shoulder. "I'm not going anywhere."
They stayed like that for a while, Hawk holding his girlfriend, son, and new baby as close as possible. He didn't cry even though he felt like he could. He just stood with the comfort of knowing he's had Reader this long and he'll have for many more years to come. And he gave her comfort and reassurance in their new relationship. They stood in silence with those promises for a while.
Until Mason broke it.
"Mama," he said softly.
Hawk and Reader pulled away from each other, looking at him. He glanced at Reader, then asked, "What did you say?"
"Mama," Mason said a little louder, giggling as he was being paid attention to again. He hugged Reader around the neck and laughed. "Mama! Mama!"
Reader cried a little more, smiling softly. She kissed Mason's cheek. It felt so much more deserved than it would have before. She held him close, smiling as he smiled.
Hawk rubbed his son's back and laughed softly. "That's right, Mason. That's Mama."
It was the best day yet. It was the day Reader, despite being there since the beginning, felt like a part of their little family.

Thinking about single dad Hawk again having to cancel a date because no one can babysit his son. He calls reader and apologizes but she tells him not to worry about it. Half an hour later, the doorbell rings and he answers it with his son in his arms. Reader is there with take out. His son is so happy to see her and wants to be in her arms so bad, so they switch off. Hawk's happy to see her too, of course, but his son is so loud and excitable thay he just outshines everyone when he squeals and makes grabby hands; he's so cute.
So now they're having a little date with Reader feeding Hawk's son on her lap while Hawk feeding Reader 😂 its cute, to Hawk at least
- gemini sensei
Hawk is so surprised when he finds her outside his place, a big smile on her face and a huge plastic bag full of takeout. His son keeps squirming in his arms trying to make a break for it, even though he can’t even walk on his own yet. He automatically stops when he sees Reader, happy to see his daddy’s girlfriend.
She sets the food down on the counter and grabs the baby out of his arms the minute the boy starts giggling and making grabby hands at her. She can’t help but laugh as the baby is passed to her and grips onto her shirt while giggling up a storm.
Hawk takes the opportunity to go grab some blankets and pillows from his room. He brings them out and tosses them in the living room.
All three of them end up in a giant blanket and pillow-filled nest thing on the floor in front of the couch. It's soft and they all sit and lay together in it. Hawk flips on a old animated movie that seems to entertain the baby. Big round eyes watch the screen. It's only occasionally when he looks away from the screen, looking over to Reader to slowly and safely stuff his mouth with something that both her and Hawk are eating.
Messy little hands cover his mouth as he chews and drools around the new food. But he loves it which makes both Reader and Hawk smile. They all keep watching the movie.
Hawk doesn't even notice as he hand-feeds Reader through the movie. Picking stuff off his takeout container with a fork and nudging it into Reader’s mouth.
They end up curled up for a good portion of the night until the baby starts to fall asleep. They quickly clean him up and change him before putting him in his crib and letting him fall asleep.
Hawk and Reader end up just going back to the pillow and blanket nest and falling asleep together, Reader to lazy to go home that night. They end up curled up under a blanket together, all mashed up against each other.

Good timeline Mikey hc's????
Here are a few I have for him in the good timeline!
He still kicked Kazutora's dad even though he now knew he wasn't a kidnapper
He pouts after losing a race. (He also eats taiyaki before every race because it's "good luck")
Refuses to fight Senju in their toman years, she keeps chasing him declaring a spar while he keeps running off (Sanzu and Baji normally end up holding her back so Mikey can run)
Will nap in the most unusual places to avoid work and training
Argues with Izana after Emma has her baby over who the baby's favourite uncle is.
Offers to beat up Kiyomasa before Takemichi ever has to meet him again (Takemichi says no)
He gets so excited to meet Draken that he calls him "ken chin" straight away and manages to act even more strange then the first time.
Still manages to forget to put petrol in his street hawke when they go to the beach again (he doesn't let Baji go alone this time though)
He shares so many inside jokes with Takemichi, the others are sometimes confused as to what they're talking about. (One time he mentioned how good Hina is at hitting but Hina was just confused because she's never hit him???)
Pouts if the others tease him about being single
Actually tends to be a little more cautious in fights, especially with new enemies in this timeline. And he keeps a much closer eye on the rest of the gang during fights.
Comes up with a plan to try and get Emma and Draken to confess to each other (it doesn't go well)
He straight up forgets about less important fights and people he beat. Will ask Takemichi who someone is often.
He really likes that he gets to call Izana is his brother here and has another sibling.
Wants everyone to watch and cheer for him on race days.

Last minute WIP Wednesday thing

Hi, first of anything I love and ate up every single thing you wrote. That said I NEED a story where Sev is about to be a dad, they are both in the last week of pregnancy just waiting for the moment the little girl (why do we all see him as a baby girl dad tho?) and he's just reflexive on how his life is right now after suffering so much and thinking he would die alone. If you want to add the birth and baby birth that's even better 💔 thanks.
Title: The Twin Stars in Snape's World
Summary: Severus's world shifts entirely with the birth of his daughters, filling the shadows of his past with light and love that he never thought he’d experience.
Pairing: Severus Snape × Fem! Reader
Warnings: None
Author's Notes: It’s not exactly what you asked for, but I was already working on a third chapter for my fanfic Daddy Snape's Dilemma, and your request totally nudged me to finish it up and post it! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it!
First, Second and Third part here.
Also read on Ao3
The final week of your pregnancy arrived, and Severus Snape was, without a doubt, more nervous than you had ever seen him. Over the past months, his protectiveness had gradually intensified, but now, as you neared the end, it had reached an almost comical extreme. He refused to let you out of his sight, shadowing your every move with the intensity of a hawk, his tall, lean figure looming close no matter where you went.
At Hogwarts, his vigilance took on a new form. Snape had all but bullied Dumbledore into hiring a temporary teacher to cover your Ancient Runes classes. You could tell Dumbledore found the whole thing rather amusing, indulging Snape’s demands with a patient, almost fatherly tolerance. As for Snape, there was no humor in it—his determination was fueled by what seemed to be genuine, bone-deep fear.
Instead of teaching, you were relegated to a bedroom at the back of the Potions classroom, with Snape popping in between his own lessons to check on you. You had never seen him so anxious, his usual stoic facade cracking more with each passing day. He would pace outside your quarters, shoulders tense, the dark circles under his eyes deepening. Despite his best efforts to hide it, he was deeply stressed, behaving as if he were the one about to give birth.
You noticed that this worry manifested in another unexpected way: the matter of naming your daughters. Every day he would bring you lists, scrolls of parchment filled with options he had painstakingly compiled, poring over the names with the same scrutiny he’d apply to brewing a delicate, dangerous potion. Each name had to be perfect, meaningful, and worthy.
He had presented you with everything from mythological names to obscure, poetic words he’d found in ancient texts. You, however, had a different approach. “Severus,” you said one evening as he handed you yet another list, his expression serious, “I know you want to have everything planned, but… we’ll know their names when we see them. Don’t you think?”
Snape’s gaze turned sharp, his dark eyes narrowing slightly as if the suggestion was almost sacrilegious. “And what if we don’t?” he retorted, his voice low and pointed. “What if we look at them and realize we’ve failed to give them names that reflect who they are meant to be?”
You bit back a smile, reaching out to touch his hand, feeling the tension radiate from his slender, calloused fingers. “Severus, we won’t fail them just because we haven’t decided on names yet. They’re our daughters—they’ll be extraordinary no matter what we call them.”
He sighed, his shoulders relaxing a fraction as he looked down at you, the intensity in his gaze softening. “I’m merely trying to… prepare. It is my responsibility as their father to see to it that they have everything they need—even a name that will protect them from the start.”
His protectiveness tugged at your heart, and you squeezed his hand. “You’re already giving them everything they need, Severus. They’ll have you.”
Snape’s expression shifted, a rare vulnerability flickering across his angular face, though he quickly hid it. “Yes, well…” he muttered, glancing away. “I still believe we should at least shortlist a few options.”
Over the next few days, you managed to narrow down the lists together, though every time you thought you’d settled on something, he’d return with yet another alternative he deemed equally worthy. It became almost endearing, watching him struggle with his need for control over something as uncontrollable as birth.
You chuckled one evening, teasing him, “You do realize, Severus, that the girls might decide their names for us? They could arrive and look nothing like any of these.”
His frown deepened, though a hint of amusement flickered in his dark eyes. “They will look like you,” he replied, his voice almost possessive, as though that was an immutable fact. “And if they resemble you, then any name I choose will be worthy.”
In the quiet moments, you could see past his impatience, his need for everything to be just so. He was terrified. The great, imposing Severus Snape, who had faced dangers most wizards could scarcely imagine, was terrified of this unknown journey. And though he hid it behind his meticulous planning, his anxiety was evident in every line he wrote, every name he researched.
One night, as he sat beside you, poring over yet another scroll, you couldn’t help but place your hand over his, stilling his movements. “Severus,” you said softly, your voice gentle, “it’s all right to be scared.”
He didn’t pull his hand away, but he didn’t meet your eyes, his jaw tight. “I am not afraid,” he replied, though his tone lacked conviction. His voice was softer, almost strained. “I simply… cannot afford any mistakes. Not with them. Not with you.”
You placed a hand on your belly, feeling a gentle kick as if one of the babies could sense his unease. You guided his hand to the spot, letting him feel the movement.
“They’re already telling us they’re fine,” you whispered, smiling as his eyes softened, a faint blush creeping up his pale cheeks. “And you’re going to be an incredible father.”
For a brief moment, the tension melted from his face, replaced by a rare, unguarded expression. He watched you, his hand lingering on your belly, his thumb tracing small, soothing circles over the spot where he’d felt the kick.
“Two girls,” he murmured, almost to himself, his voice filled with a strange mixture of awe and dread. “I don’t know if I’m prepared for this.”
You leaned forward, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek, your heart swelling with love for this man who had, against all odds, become so much more than you’d ever dreamed possible. “You’ll be ready, Severus,” you assured him, your voice full of conviction. “They’re already lucky to have you.”
In that moment, as he held you close, his face buried in your shoulder, you knew that no matter what names were chosen, no matter how unprepared he felt, your daughters would be loved beyond measure. And for Severus, that was the truest magic of all.
Snape sat at his desk, his gaze flickering over the rows of students carefully attempting the day’s potion. A faint curl of distaste tugged at his lips as he caught sight of Potter, who, as usual, seemed perilously close to ruining his cauldron’s contents. Snape had already reprimanded him once that morning, his words slicing through the dungeon air with the sharpness he reserved for the boy. Yet now, as he sat in silence, the other students barely daring to breathe, his attention drifted elsewhere, pulled toward thoughts far removed from the dungeons of Hogwarts.
Just behind him, a faint rustle and creak filtered through the door to your shared quarters. The faint sounds of movement as you stirred from sleep. A warmth crept into his chest, breaking through the stoic shell he maintained with such precision.
As his gaze returned to the students before him, he felt the familiar, bittersweet pang of Lily’s memory—his first love, and his greatest regret. For so long, her shadow had been his constant companion, filling him with a cold, unrelenting ache. Protecting her son had become his purpose, his penance. And after her death, he had accepted that this mission would likely be the only meaning his life would ever have. There had been a time when he thought he might die carrying it out—perhaps even hoped for it.
But then you had entered his life.
A sigh escaped his lips, almost inaudible beneath the simmering of potions and the scratch of quills. The world had shifted when you came into it, and now, with the prospect of your daughters’ arrival in only three days, he felt that shift more acutely than ever. A sense of purpose, something wholly separate from his debt to Lily, had taken root within him.
You had given him a reason to live that went beyond atonement. The life growing within you, two delicate lives entwined with his own, felt like a redemption he had never believed possible. For the first time, he could imagine a future not defined by sacrifice and solitude, but by something richer, something gentler.
Snape’s hand tightened briefly around the edge of his desk, and he watched his students, their heads bent over their cauldrons, oblivious to his thoughts. He had spent years mastering his emotions, transforming them into weapons, shields, armor against the outside world. But now, he realized that he could no longer afford to wield that armor so thoughtlessly.
These children, his daughters—they would be born into a world fractured by war, a world where he had a role to play in the coming darkness. Yet for them, he could not allow himself the luxury of despair or surrender. For the first time, he couldn’t imagine simply fading away into the shadows after Voldemort’s defeat. It was no longer an option to leave this life without knowing that his daughters would grow up strong, safe, and surrounded by the kind of love he had never known.
As the thought took root, Snape’s jaw tightened, a new resolve settling over him like a cloak. He would survive this war. He would survive, not because of some duty to the past, but because of a responsibility to the future—to his family. He would see his daughters grow up; he would teach them, protect them, stand by their side as they learned about the world and perhaps even found their own places in it.
For once, the prospect of living beyond the war held something other than pain. A faint vision of two young girls, with bright eyes and curious minds, drifted through his mind. His daughters, growing up, asking questions about the stars, about potions, perhaps even about love. And you—by his side, guiding them with the warmth he could only hope to echo.
The shrill sound of a student’s cauldron hissing sharply brought him back to the present. He narrowed his eyes at the offending student, who paled under his glare and quickly adjusted the heat, stammering an apology. Snape stood up abruptly, his dark eyes narrowing as he prepared to address the room. But before he could say a word, a loud crash echoed through the dungeons as the door to his quarters burst open.
He whipped around, dark eyes narrowing, but whatever sharp retort had been on his lips vanished as he took in the sight before him.
There you stood, gripping the doorway, your face flushed, one hand braced against your lower back and the other cradling your rounded belly. The look on your face was equal parts determination and alarm, but it was the words that followed that sent his heart racing.
“It’s happening,” you gasped, your voice shaky but clear.
For a moment, Snape stood frozen, your words echoing in his mind, the meaning of them almost surreal. Happening? He glanced down, his mind racing. Surely not—
His thoughts halted abruptly as Ron Weasley’s voice, loud and tactless, filled the silence. “Why’s she peeing herself in front of everyone?”
Hermione’s horrified gasp quickly followed, and she smacked him on the arm, whispering furiously, “She’s not peeing herself, Ron! Her water’s broken! She’s giving birth!”
That was all it took to snap Snape out of his stunned stupor. The babies were coming—now. Much earlier than planned. His eyes widened, and he lunged from behind his desk, moving to your side in an instant, his usual composure nowhere in sight.
“Merlin,” he muttered under his breath, one hand hovering awkwardly near you, unsure whether to support you or hold back in case he only made things worse. “You… you’re sure?” he stammered, though he immediately realized how absurd that question was.
You managed a small, pained laugh. “Quite sure, Severus.”
His mind raced as he attempted to regain his bearings. The portkey to St. Mungo’s—they’d had it prepared weeks ago, but it had seemed more like an overcautious precaution at the time. Now, with the urgency of the situation hitting him, he felt his calm shatter.
He shot a look around the classroom, and his gaze landed on the nearest student—Hermione Granger, who was watching with wide eyes, clearly understanding the seriousness of the situation. “Miss Granger,” he barked, his voice laced with barely concealed panic, “fetch Professor McGonagall. Tell her to cover this class immediately.”
Hermione jumped to her feet, nodding fervently as she dashed from the room, her own nervous energy amplifying the urgency. Meanwhile, Snape turned back to you, his heart racing as he tried to mask his worry.
“Severus,” you breathed, clutching his arm. “The portkey—”
He nodded quickly, releasing a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding. “Yes, of course.” His hand moved to his robes, fingers fumbling as he retrieved the small, inconspicuous glass vial enchanted to transport you both directly to St. Mungo’s.
He held the vial up to you, and you grabbed it, your other hand gripping his arm tightly as the room around you vanished in a whirl of colors. The bustling noise of Hogwarts faded, replaced by the sterile quiet of the St. Mungo’s ward as you both landed in the reception area, nearly stumbling from the sudden shift in location.
A Healer rushed toward you both, her eyes widening as she took in the scene. “Mrs. Snape—oh my, it’s early!” she exclaimed, gesturing to an available stretcher as she signaled to her colleagues. “Let’s get you to a delivery room.”
Snape’s hands hovered near you, his face a mixture of worry and focus as he helped you onto the stretcher. As the Healers moved you down the hallway, he kept pace beside you, his long strides easily matching their quick pace. He reached out to take your hand, gripping it tightly as you squeezed back, the intensity of the contractions beginning to set in.
“You’re doing fine,” he murmured, his deep voice steadier than he felt. “Just breathe.”
A faint smile crossed your face despite the pain. “Severus Snape, giving breathing advice. Now I’ve seen everything.”
He quirked an eyebrow, though his expression softened. “Mock me all you like, but keep breathing.”
The Healers moved efficiently, ushering you into the delivery room and setting you up as Snape hovered close, his dark gaze flicking anxiously between you and the medical staff. He could feel the old fear surfacing—the fear of the unknown, the helplessness of standing by while others took over. But your hand in his grounded him, your presence reminding him that he was exactly where he needed to be.
A Healer turned to him, her expression calm and reassuring. “It may take a few hours, Professor. These things are rarely quick, and with twins…”
Snape’s jaw tightened, but he nodded, settling into a chair beside you, his hand never leaving yours.
Hours passed, though they felt like mere minutes to him. He was acutely aware of every moment—the sound of your breathing, the tightening of your grip during contractions, the reassuring words from the Healers. He remained silent, his face a mask of concentration, his own discomfort forgotten in his focus on you.
The hours stretched, each contraction increasing the tension in the room. Severus remained by your side, his hand firmly gripping yours, his dark eyes watching every move the Healers made with suspicion. But the moment the lead Healer suggested you get up and walk to help progress the labor, his calm snapped.
“Walk?” His voice, usually controlled and low, rose sharply, filled with uncharacteristic alarm. “You expect her to walk in this state? Are you out of your minds?”
The Healer, a kindly-looking witch with graying hair, gave Severus a reassuring smile, accustomed to nervous fathers. “Professor Snape,” she began gently, “encouraging movement can help speed things along. It’s quite common, especially with twins.”
Severus’s mouth opened and closed a few times, his face paling even more. “Common?” he echoed incredulously, his gaze darting from you to the Healer. “My wife is in labor, Madam, with twins, and you want her to walk about like she’s merely out for a stroll?”
Despite the contractions, you couldn’t help but chuckle at his outburst. “Severus,” you managed between breaths, reaching out to squeeze his hand. “It’s fine. I can walk a little.”
He looked at you, his dark eyes wide with concern, clearly torn. The thought of you enduring even the smallest discomfort was driving him nearly mad. “If—if you’re certain…” he muttered, though his grip on your arm was firm as he helped you out of bed, as if preparing to catch you at the slightest misstep.
The Healer guided you both down the hall for a short, careful walk, Severus muttering under his breath with every step, shooting fierce looks at any Healer who dared suggest you keep moving. When you paused, wincing as another contraction hit, he practically growled at the Healer. “If there’s any risk to my wife or our daughters…” He let the threat linger, his face a mask of furious protectiveness.
Finally, you were able to return to the bed, and though the labor continued slowly, Severus remained at your side, holding your hand and murmuring soft reassurances. His fingers trembled slightly as he brushed back your hair, the love and worry in his gaze evident even as he tried to keep his composure.
It was nearly dawn when the sound of footsteps echoed down the hall, followed by a cheerful voice that could only belong to Albus Dumbledore. The headmaster entered, his arms laden with trinkets, including tiny stuffed owls, a miniature cauldron, and a set of rattles that jingled softly. He looked as though he had raided the entire children’s section of Diagon Alley.
“Severus, my boy!” he called warmly, his blue eyes twinkling as he approached. “I heard there was a new arrival or two on the way. Ah, and Minerva!” He turned, gesturing as Professor McGonagall entered, a faintly amused smile on her face as she took in Severus’s tense form by your bedside.
Dumbledore began to hand out trinkets, placing the little toys on the table near your bed, each accompanied by a soft hum and a lemon drop he popped into his mouth with relish. “The finest wares from Diagon Alley,” he declared, his tone bright. “Only the best for the future Misses Snape!”
Minerva moved closer to you, her expression softening as she reached for your hand. “How are you holding up, dear?” she asked, her Scottish accent laced with warmth. “Severus here has kept us all quite informed on your progress. I daresay I’ve never seen him in such a state.”
“Nor has anyone else, I assure you,” you replied, managing a tired smile. Severus shot Minerva a look that could have melted cauldrons, though his hand never left yours.
Dumbledore continued to rummage through his collection, holding up a small toy wand that emitted a shower of harmless sparks. “I thought this might suit,” he said with a wink. “We must start their magical education early.”
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the Healers gave the signal. Severus held your hand tightly, his face a mix of awe and terror as the final stage of labor began. You saw a single tear slip down his usually composed face, his grip tightening as he whispered, “You’re incredible. I— I am so proud of you.”
The Healers wheeled you down a quiet, dimly lit corridor, Severus’s tall, shadowy form looming beside you, never letting you out of his sight. His dark eyes, usually hardened and calculating, were softened with a mixture of awe and profound vulnerability as he took in every detail of the room being prepared for the birth of your daughters.
The faint echoes of magical murmurs from the Healers filled the room as they adjusted the equipment and spells needed. Severus moved to your side, his long, slender fingers brushing against your hand with a tentative gentleness. You could feel his nervous energy, the intense worry that he tried so desperately to mask beneath his stoic exterior.
As the contractions intensified, he bent down, his pale, angular face close to yours, his hair falling forward to shield his expression. His deep voice, usually sharp and guarded, softened as he whispered, “I’m here. You’re not alone, amore.”
The Healers instructed him to step back slightly, readying themselves for the delivery. Though he complied, his piercing gaze never left you, as if he were willing every ounce of his strength to help you through this moment.
Moments later, the room filled with a powerful, almost sacred silence as the first cry rang out—a thin, wailing sound that sent a tremor through Severus. One of the Healers approached, cradling a tiny, wriggling form swaddled in soft white fabric, and extended her towards Severus. His expression froze, and for a split second, he seemed almost paralyzed by fear.
The Healer’s voice was gentle. “Would you like to hold your daughter, Professor Snape?”
He nodded, though his hands trembled as he reached out. Carefully, she placed the baby in his arms, her tiny face peeking out from the blanket, her features so delicate and small they seemed otherworldly. Severus looked down at her, his dark eyes filled with a mixture of wonder and disbelief. His usually cold demeanor melted away, replaced by an intense, overwhelming tenderness that softened every line of his face.
“She’s…” His voice faltered, thick with emotion. His eyes glistened, and he swallowed hard, blinking back tears as he took in every detail—the soft curve of her cheeks, her tiny fingers curling into fists, her miniature nose. She was perfect, and in that moment, he realized he would do anything to protect her. He bent his head, his deep voice a reverent whisper. “You’re perfect.”
Just as Severus seemed to settle into the awe of holding his daughter, your voice cut through, strained yet filled with strength as the next contraction began. He looked up, his dark gaze flickering between you and the tiny life cradled in his arms, torn between staying with his newborn daughter and being by your side.
“Severus,” you managed, breathless, a smile breaking through the exhaustion, “go on… be there for her.”
He nodded, his gaze lingering on you for a beat, his expression raw with admiration, before he gently passed the baby to a nearby Healer, ensuring she would be safe. He crossed the room quickly, his dark robes sweeping behind him as he returned to your side, his long fingers slipping back into yours. You felt his grip, firm and unyielding, grounding you, as he whispered encouragements, his voice unsteady yet filled with pride.
Minutes later, a second cry filled the room, high and clear, and you saw Severus’s shoulders tremble with relief and elation. One of the Healers brought over the second newborn, a twin as delicate and perfect as her sister, and Severus stared at her, his heart swelling in his chest.
“She’s beautiful,” he murmured, almost to himself, his voice choked with a depth of feeling he rarely revealed. He took her into his arms, his slender fingers cradling her small head, his thumb gently tracing her cheek. His usually cold, intimidating face softened into something unrecognizable, a fierce love that lit his dark eyes with an intensity that left you breathless.
As he held her, the first Healer approached, bringing the other twin over to you, her tiny face nestled in the blanket. Your heart filled as you looked down at her, at the small, precious life you had brought into the world. In that moment, the room felt full of magic, not the kind that could be taught or brewed, but the kind that was born out of love, pure and unconditional.
Severus looked over at you, his expression softened beyond recognition, his piercing gaze filled with an almost painful tenderness as he watched you holding your daughter. For once, his stoic mask was gone, replaced by the vulnerability of a man who had finally found something worth living—and dying—for.
“They have your eyes,” you whispered, noting the dark lashes and tiny features, a hint of his unmistakable presence in them already.
He nodded, speechless, his voice catching as he tried to speak. When he finally found his words, they were barely above a whisper, his voice thick with emotion. “They’ll have your spirit… your kindness. And they’ll know they are loved.” His gaze met yours, a profound, unspoken promise shimmering in his eyes.
He reached out, his long fingers gently touching your cheek, and for the first time, you saw the walls he had so carefully built around his heart crumble, replaced by the love he had tried so hard to hide. Here, in this room, with his daughters in his arms and you by his side, Severus Snape had found his redemption. And it was more beautiful than he could have ever imagined.
