I can’t believe it was too soon! Our head nurse in the medical intensive care unit, Sir Christian Razote, is finally leaving for Singapore. It was very saddening because he is one of my best mentors who hone me to become the person I am today.

He was very strict before when I was still a junior in the unit. Our first encounter was when he asked me if I am already done checking the emergency cart because I will not be allowed to go home if the supplies and medications aren’t complete. It was one of the so-called “junior duties.” Even when I become one of the seniors already, he always kept on reminding me of my duties and responsibilities as a nurse, especially on how to talk therapeutically both to my juniors and to my patients and their families. I admit I cannot control the tone of my voice when I get irritated to someone. He even taught me how to do some paperworks of a nurse manager. I know I can use it in the future. I really appreciate him as my mentor because I can see how hard he tries to do the right thing and to improve our practices in the unit. Since then, I always do what I can to be a competent and compassionate nurse I can possibly be.

I am surely going to miss Sir Christian’s encouraging words. I hope there are still other people who are like him who never gets tired of imparting his knowledge and skills to anyone, and who is always grateful for all the blessings he has.

I’m going to miss you, Sir Chan-Chan!! Good luck on your future endeavors. God bless! And see you soon!! 🤗😊

This is nurse shenail, and This post is dedicated to her….

When I was warded at IMH, I did not talk to anyone, and nurse shenail wasn’t the one who help me to talk, instead I did not want to talk to her back then and find her irritating, well the fact that she insist to check my pocket before I go for my lunch I rmb I use to hide in the ward toilet so that the nurses cannot find me, and started stonning and later trying to use my jacket to strangle myself, that’s where nurse shenail found me and let me cry all I want, thanks for being such patient with me :’) The nurses there are really patient and caring, when I did not want to talk, they let me use a notebook which I still keep to communicate with them, I remember later stages I actually can talk well with them and where I have a lot of fun conversation with nurse shenail and nurse tian, and he’s nurse shenail I still remember what you tell me, it is easier to change my own mindset then to change others, you told me that when I tell you how horrible my classes at school were going, how my classmate are being mean, whow you really do listen great:’) I still remember when one of the patient commented that your shoe is the same like nurse Chiam you like noooo and then I started to say that too:’) still remember the rilakuma I use to laugh that your wallet? And also your really really nice phone which you lend me to catch up with my studies? You’re really awesome and I never will forget you and those memories…. I hope you’ll one day see this post, for you help me to overcome depression greatly….. Thanks for listening, being such a caring nurse… I apologise that back then I was really rude not to talk to you in the first place when you asked for my name, rmb the notebook I use to communicate with you and te other nurse?:) I bring it everywhere I go^^ I miss you guys so so much…..

All the best nurse shenail for your further studies you are pursuing, I’m sure you’ll excel in whatever you are studying, Cuz you’re one hell of an awesome nurse:’) I hope one day I get to meet you again and you’ll remember me:’)
