I just realized that it's already been four years since Sing 2 came out meaning we could be getting a trailer for 3 like NEXT year-

I was thinking about Sing 3 and the potential of bringing Nooshy back…

A lot of sources are speculating that it isn’t happening and I feel like I know the main reason why they think it won’t…

As far as I know, Letitia Wright, Nooshy’s VA, is still on hiatus from acting because she had genuine concerns of the new COVID-19 vaccines and the internet cancelled her straight away! The last film released with her acting credit before this decision, of course, was Wakanda Forever. (yeah, just because I have high functioning autism, it doesn’t mean I’m an idiot when it comes to how long movies in post-production can take, especially for a MARVEL FILM!)

I still say that it’s not out of the question for Nooshy to return yet. Illumination has no problem replacing actors when the original is either unavailable or in legal trouble. For instance, Louis C.K., who originally voiced Max for The Secret Life Of Pets was facing sexual assault allegations during the production of the sequel, and Patton Oswalt was called in to fill the role.

Now you may be saying, “But, Artica, Max is the protagonist of Secret Life! It just wouldn’t be a Pets movie without Max! Maybe we could survive without Nooshy!”

Well, you’d be right. When you have a character that integral to your franchise, you can’t just drop them! That’s how I feel about Nooshy! She solidified herself as a part of the New Moon Troupe just by being there for Johnny and the others! If you pitched her now, you’d lose a choreographer! Okay, maybe that’s what Ryan could be used for as well, but I can see the pair of them being co-workers and supporting their friends unconditionally!

What’s the point? Well, for the past year, I have been scouting for potential candidates for Nooshy’s new voice actress. To keep the Black representation alive, I mostly focused on Black women with that beautiful British accent we know and love. Leigh-Ann Pollock of Little Mix fame (perfect for if they wanted Nooshy to sing), Clara Amfo of BBC Radio One, Sophie Okonedo of The Secret Life Of Bees [Funny coincidence there]… But then last night, I realized that the answer was right in front of my face from the beginning!

Sherrie Silver was responsible for the choreography for Sing 2 and for helping to bring Out Of This World to life! She even stated that she really liked Nooshy and focused on her agility and flexibility a lot. It almost makes sense that if no one else, Illumination should have her voice Nooshy!

It really isn’t too far off to ask a choreographer to do some acting. For the Japanese dub of Sing 2, Akane Miyazaki, who is known for her choreography, was called in to voice Nooshy.

And do you remember Alvin And The Chipmunks 2007?

The actual choreographer for that film, Rosero “Taffy” McCoy even got his own little scene in that film, where he tells Ian [David Cross] that he’s the choreographer and he hilariously doesn’t even know what that means. It’s your JOB as a huge record executive and tour manager to know what a choreographer is!

Taffy: It’s dancing.

Ian: Well, then next time just say I’m the dance guy!

Yes, it’s filler, but it’s entertaining filler that highlights the significance of choreographers!

So yeah… That’s my opinion on it all. Feel free to tell me who you think should fill Nooshy’s shoes and what role she could play in Sing 3, if at all!

I don’t know why I’m not crying over this right now, especially with everything going on in my life, but I think after all the Meena slander stuff from last year, I’ve learned to get used to this behavior! It’s true that my passion for Nooshy has gone down a little, but that’s only because, as stated, she really doesn’t get a lot of screen time, so she isn’t as easy to dissect compared to the others in the New Moon Troupe. You can get more out of, say, Ash’s character than Nooshy’s, mainly because the writers figured she didn’t need a backstory for Sing 2.

Hopefully if and when she returns for the third film (Letitia Wright may still be on her hiatus, but if you check out my post about Nooshy returning, you’ll see that it’s not impossible), we do get to have a bit of background on her and maybe answer a few questions we’ve had about what her life was like in Redshore City. Of course, I don’t expect a lot, considering Illumination’s track record of focusing on too many character development stories at once, but just give us at least ONE bit about what her parents were like!

All I want to say is that this really hurts. We all agree that there’s really no shipping with her and Johnny and this really shouldn’t have to be something to start drama over! I don’t even make it an argument that Alfonso gets in the way of my shipping with Johnny and Meena because it really isn’t a big deal, and the two of them are cute together. My point? Don’t make other o people miserable with your opinions! They can really hurt!

I didn't want to have to make this post, I've seen enough shipping drama on Tumblr over the years that I usually steer clear of it, but there’s been so much Nooshy bashing in the tags lately that I feel compelled to weigh in on it.

Why do people like Nooshy? Well, to put it simply, even though she’s never the center of attention in "Sing 2", Nooshy manages to be a girl with layers, and there's a lot to appreciate about her. When we're first introduced to her, she's a street performer so she can make the money that she needs to survive, but she’s also genuinely passionate about her craft - she loves to dance - and she enjoys getting a chance to share that passion with someone else whenever they come along.

While she can be snarky and prickly and slow to trust strangers, she’s also very nice once you get to know her. After a young turtle kid almost screws up her performance, she's still very playful and accommodating towards him. When she’s brought backstage to the Crystal theater, she compliments some dude's hat just to make him feel good about himself. While she initially agrees to help Johnny because he offers to pay her, she starts to stick up for him and genuinely support him, because the way Klaus treats him isn't right. She decides to help the Moon Theater troupe put on their big show, even though she's only known these people for about a week and their plan will surely be very dangerous, because the way Jimmy Crystal treats them isn't right either and she wants to help them stick it to the man. After Johnny tells her that he and his family used to be a gang of notorious criminals, Nooshy never judges them for their shady past, and is actually quite happy to see how close he and his father are now (especially since it's implied that she might not even have parents herself). And during "A Sky Full Of Stars", she encourages Johnny to never give up and follow his heart, because he's her friend and she wants to see him succeed.

Nooshy is snarky and mischievous, but underneath it all, she's actually a very kind girl, and very loyal towards the people who earn her respect. And by the end of "Sing 2", she gets her happy ending when she not only gets a new paying career doing what she loves, but also finds a place where she belongs among the Moon Theater troupe.

The reason why I just went off on that rather long tangent, dissecting her character, is to drive home the point that Nooshy has done nothing in the canon films to warrant the way people talk about her sometimes.

I've seen people insult everything about her and her fans for shipping reasons, because they see her as a threat to their preferred ships (even though she and Johnny are not even canonically a couple by the end of "Sing 2"). And there's a real double standard when it comes to this too, because no other character who's been shipped with Johnny over the years gets this kind of treatment. Meena doesn't, Ash doesn't, Ryan doesn't (even though the claim that Nooshy haters sometimes make - that people only like her as one half of a ship - could just as easily be said about him).

And this is really nothing new. Characters getting trash-talked over shipping wars is a tale as old as time when it comes to fandoms, and people are entitled to their opinions. The reason why I made this post is because lately, the Nooshy bashing is starting to cross a line.

Over the last few months, I've been seeing a growing number of comments complaining about people including Nooshy in their fanart. I've also been seeing a growing number of posts outright insulting people who like Nooshy or like to ship her with Johnny, saying that they're stupid and shallow and should just go away because they’re a blight on the fandom.

How about no.

In a fandom, people are allowed to like whatever character they like, or ship whatever couple they like, so long as they're not hurting anyone. If you hate Nooshy so much that you can't stand seeing any fanart of her or fanfics of her, because you don't want to be reminded that she exists, then I'm sorry but you're either just going to have to deal with that or stop engaging with the parts of the fandom where people want to appreciate her. Because quite frankly, your hatred for this character is no one else’s problem except your own and people are not going to stop liking her just for your benefit.

The Big Kid resurfaced again as I found myself singing along to most of the songs throughout.

IMO: This is one of the few times in movie history where the sequel is better than the original.

I'm not a HUGE fan of musicals so I opted out of seeing the 'Sing!' films but apparently Tish lended her voice for the character of Nooshy in 'Sing! 2" 😁

Sing and Sing 2 are kinda terrible and have an awful plot, but the cast is just so amazing and over powered that I don’t know what to do with it. Like I want to make fun of it, but then I remember that Scarlett Johansson, Nick Kroll, Taron Egerton, Halsey, Letitia Wright, Nick Offerman, Reece Witherspoon, Pharrell Williams, Bobby Cannavale, Matthew McConaghey, AND Bono came together to sing slightly out of date pop songs because they wanted to, and I have to respect that

Just watched Sing 2 via early release and here are my first reactions to it. Tread lightly, there are spoilers afoot!

The film will feature a new U2 song courtesy of Bono who voices Clay (this is not Bono's first housework because, as usual THE SIMPSONS did it first as Bono and his U2 bandmates lent their voices to a 1998 episode) is titled "Your Song Saved My Life".

Egerton purged his IG not too long ago and it's thought that he and his partner Emily Thomas split some months ago.
