I'm curious if at some point you'd ever make a V2/W2, but even if you don't: I love your little bug so much, I wanna hug the critter because it deserves the love and affection <3. (I hope you feel better soon, by the way!!!)
Like treasure <3
Anyway sure! This isn't really a seperate au of w1 or anything! V1 and V2 used to be two bodies so of course there was another shell that ended up empty. I guess that'd be W2!
It is very much NOT alive and brainless though.
#ultrakill#ask#anonymous#w1#doodles#w1 ultrakill#w2#ig?? again not rlly a character thats a corpse but hey#ALSO ty for the kind words anon!! im healing okay as of now#i sincerely hope it continues slowly improving!#note: w1 uses 'me' and 'you' loosely interchangeably when talking about itself

I have to ask what drew vasco into falling in love with machete?
His snivelling runt ways were just that irresistable.
#no they were best friends first#it wasn't love at first sight#I think Vasco just gradually noticed that Machete is sincere and kindhearted and genuinely tries to be a good person#and it's hard not to appreciate that Vasco is known for having those qualities too his are just a lot more evident#he's an one person dog but when he gets attached to you he's fervently dedicated loyal caring and supportive#he's perceptive thoughtful and a good listener#sensible highly responsible and keeps his promises#does his part or dies trying even if no one is there to notice#he's learned knowledgeable and a lot more sharp-witted than people give him credit for and infodumps as a love language#their interests and ideologies overlap or at least complement each other#he has problems but really tries to do better and never takes any help he's given for granted#he always dresses well smells nice and has soft pettable fur#and he can be kind of funny and cute in his own dorky way#and Vasco sees how his presence continuously brings out the best qualities in him#and cherishes the fact he can be such a positive force in someone's life#answered#anonymous#Vaschete lore

#LIKE THE FACE MODEL? im going to die.#okay but sincere question: is henry cavill well-versed in voltron lore? is this like another one of his nerd fantasy roles#i want him to show up on set day one with a binder full of fanfiction he wrote in the 90s#ask#anonymous

heyy i hope you don't mind this question. so recently I've seen a crop of nearly identical articles listing types of love in Greek civilization, which are not trustworthy at all ofc. but I've been trying to verify and debunk claim by claim and I'm in doubt about πραγμα, which would supposedly be a type of business-like romantic connexion, like an arranged marriage. I've never seen it used in this context at all and there are no entries of the sort in LSJ, but I was wondering if you've ever found it used metaphorically by a playwright or poet somewhere? I'm trying to understand what justifies the repeated inclusion of the term in this context
I have no idea where this notion of 'the ancient Greeks had x number of words for love' comes from. it has no ancient basis-- like yeah, there are lots of words in ancient Greek that we would translate as 'love', but they weren't discrete categories or anything, and the same words could and would be used to describe lots of different relationships.
and I have even less idea how πρᾶγμα makes it into those lists. πρᾶγμα means, basically, 'thing' or 'business', and has all the semantic flexibility of 'thing' and 'business.' sure, you could use it to refer to a relationship, but you could also use it to refer to a million other things. it's almost exclusively a word that appears in prose texts, not poetry. the only use the LSJ gives in connection with a romantic/sexual relationship is a speech of Aeschines (Against Timarchus 132) where he mentions the πρᾶγμα of Harmodius and Aristogeiton and is talking about them in the context of their relationship, but that specific phrase could be referring either to their relationship itself or to the action that arose out of their relationship (the attempted tyrannicide), and in any case it's super vague. the LSJ overtranslates this instance under πρᾶγμα as 'love-affair', so if I had to guess I would say this instance might be how πρᾶγμα initially got taken as a word for 'love', and then it probably got taken out of context and blown way out of proportion.
#re: the first paragraph- unless there's somewhere plato distinguishes between types of love#which seems like something plato might conceivably do somewhere in his corpus#but i sincerely doubt he would include πρᾶγμα#mine#ask#anonymous

if it weren't for tumblr i think I'd feel kind of alone in this world? even if I'm well connected in real life. the ideas and thoughts and personal feelings you guys share (+ how unapologetically passionate everyone is about their interests) is really important to me. it's nice to know that no i am not the only one, there's the friends in my phone who feel the same
#plus the thoughts i can let out on here that i feel like i can't say out loud to friends or family is really helping me i think#the anonymity of this website is so great for unrestricted honesty and sincerity#it's one of those days sorry

The mutuals post is a picture of two russian soldiers right before the full scale invasion of Ukraine. Not a good look.
did you do even a little bit of digging into that or did you just assume "dude in tactical equipment with russian patch = ukraine invader" cuz im pretty sure those are gun review youtubers
#op#ask#anonymous#ive gotten four messages about this and none of them have given me anything more than 'erm... yikes girlie!'#meanwhile my partner immediately recognized the backstop specifically from a PTRS video#and a comment points out they're youtubers who have actually helped in ukraine#so it's pretty annoying to get multiple messages from people who can't even prove what theyre saying and tbh give the echo vibe#so like genuinely and sincerely do you have any proof at all? or are you guys just looking for any way to dig on a stranger for the thrill.

What's with the shipname smartwater? Where is that from?
"Smartwater" is an old proposed alternative ship name for Percabeth, in the ship name style of using alternative phrases or combos of words rather than just combining character names - in this case, "Smart" for Annabeth and "Water" for Percy each signifying their notable "powers", and jokingly such as the brand Smartwater. In it's original form it wasn't particularly meant to be taken seriously or expected to be used.
It's come back into circulation recently as a means to specify show!Percabeth versus other iterations of Percabeth, not particularly for any reason, but the distinction does help for those being introduced to the franchise through the show only and who are wanting to avoid spoilers.
#ask#Anonymous#pjo#riordanverse#percabeth#smartwater#proposed alternative ship names used to be common in the fandom but for the most part used jokingly with a few exceptions#though they've made a comeback recently in sincerity#not a poll

Oh, I just realized why there's not so much trolling in the internet lately, or rather, it's something people are unfamiliar with; signing up to websites is hellish, and they ask for all your personal data. Every fucking popular website asks you for your phone number, real name, double check identification, and all sorts of intrusive information to sign up. The other day I was configuring a new phone for my aunt and she would have been lost without me, there are jobs that ask for less background check than a fucking Gmail or Youtube account (which you need to use the Playstore), let alone instagram, or all sorts of stuff. Electronic banks have asked less verification from me than social media.
You can go through the hassle once (even though we shouldn't but it's a systemic issue at this point) but to open up an account for trolling and saying bullshit is too much of a hassle, unless you commit to it. There's also the fact that everything tries to be connected to your real name (it was such a process to make an alt Twitter as El Biotipo internet guy, not my real name) and real face (TikTok) now, and generations have grown expecting that, so the idea you could be some guy in the internet posting bullshit with no consequence just to rile up people and the fact that it could be fun, without the hassle of making new accounts, is lost.
So everyone thinks that when someone is posting absolute crap, they think they are being sincere (because why would you make an account on the internet just to lie???), when a few years ago, it would be just trolling.
Interesting this leads to a few places where the ancient art of Lying On The Internet For Fun is still alive; Reddit (ALL AITAs ARE FAKE, just so that you know), comment sections, and obscure forums. More interestingly, technically tumblr should be a place for that because it's one of the few places where you still can be mostly anonymous, but the average tumblr demographic is... como dicen los gringos? theatre kids? in a way, too nerdy and 'nice' to troll because that's lying and lying is bad you know
#4chan is a weird spot here because yeah you are anonymous and they basically invented anonymous trolling#but the average user of 4chan is painfully sincere with what they are so if they're saying something completely unhinged they probably are#by the way I'm not saying trolling is good. I'm saying it's fun. like drinking.#we do a little trolling#cosas mias

Genuinely tickled that you decided to report back to me about it.
#trashtalk#anonymous#my jealousy cannot be overstated.#no theater near me is showing it (THIS PLACE IS A TOMB)#I have seen the Oasis bit via twitter. so at least there's that#but I sincerely want to watch this film in its entirety. in a theater setting. preferably alone. like you.#the thought of watching it with a crowd of people who only know it through 'what Caesar doing' memes makes me want to turn inside out

If I remember correctly you created Machete around 2007-2008. But when did you create Vasco? (I'm sorry of this has been asked before, I couldn't find anything)
First finished pictures of Vasco are from 2018, but even before that I had been thinking it would be interesting if Machete had had one (1) romantic relationship in his youth before he was ordained. I just didn't have a name and design for him yet.
In the earliest sketches of Vasco, he first looked a little bit like a bordercollie, then like a spaniel or a setter. He had a darker color palette as well, sort of chestnut brown with white markings, but combined with the overpowering whiteness of Machete he looked kind of impassionate and drab, so I kept making him warmer and lighter until he became the golden boy he is today. The name came later, I just thought Vasco sounded friendly and charismatic. (Also the old finnish word 'vaski' means brass and bronze, and even if it's a tedious connection and doesn't factor into their canon at all, it felt too fitting to me personally and I had to go with it).
#answered#anonymous#he was meant to be an absent character#one who appeared only in a couple of flashbacks or dreams#but the fact he used to be there and then wasn't was something that still influenced Machete#how he viewed love and other people and himself#Vasco wasn't supposed to show up again but he sort of elbowed himself back into the story and into a central position just last summer#really switched up things you could say#I originally imagined him to be more cocky and entitled and thrill seeking#but he mellowed out pretty instantly#I like him a lot better as a genuinely good and sincere person#maybe partially because you wouldn't expect someone that coddled and spoiled to have a sense of empathy and a working moral compass?

[SUBMISSION] feel free to delete this if it's too morbid: trans ppl who want top surgery, would you kill a random stranger for it? you won't get caught, and you can pick the method. 1) yes 2) depends (elaborate in a non-legally-actionable way) 3) never 4) not applicable (see results)
bruh. come on
#don't take this response as hostile tbqh like this is honestly hilarious to me#whether or not anon is sincere (and i'm inclined to think they are) this hypothetical poll would only serve to show:#how willing trans people are... specifically... to commit murder????#bc there are obviously already varying degrees to which any given trans person wants top surgery#and then getting into the 'extremely badly' degree there would still be diversity in what they're willing to DO for it#like this isn't a poll about trans demographics it's literally just way too specific. even outside of the fact that it's about a crime#it's like. such a bad poll that it's impressive tbh#that being said i think a lot of people would say yes and i think anon already knows this. you do not need a poll#anonymous#not polls

mornings with wriothesley where he kisses you awake and you two make breakfast together (while he hugs you from behind and complains about work)
wriothesley is like prime malewife material tbh. NAH BC HIM IN THAT “kiss the cook” ARPON WITH NO SHIRT- explodes 💥💥💥💥💥
OK BUT HIM AND SLEEPY GRUMBLES 😭😭 how he mutters complaints about the papers and documents that come with his line of work in your shoulder.
he’s the type to melt when you play with his hair and trace his jawline like bro is putty in your palms. sleepy him is even more so.
he’d love kissing you awake. presses one to your forehead and nose and gives that little smile when you blearily open your eyes KGJGLGJGKFNFJFHHG

ao3 is not a fucking library database it's not an actual fucking archive it just has archive in the fucking name and all it has is fanfiction (and other related fanworks, and also very rarely original fiction) holy shit can you guys stop comparing your shitty fanfics to actual important pieces of literature.
Hi! As a masters student in library and archival studies I was introduced to ao3 in my first semester as the, and i quote, "the classification goal of all library systems". It's one of the most advanced databases for digital information searching, a word you would more commonly recognize as "library".
Your statement about it only having fanfiction is very wrong since a lot of art is placed in ao3, I mean the tags are right here for you to look at, I pulled them up in 2 minutes.

I'm curious as to why you claim it's not an archive. For the class, here's the definition of archive from wikipedia in the first sentence: An archive is an accumulation of historical records or materials – in any medium – or the physical facility in which they are located. I'm sitting in an actual physical archive right now at one of the top universities of California. The only difference between this one, the Internet Archive, or ao3, is the content they hold. It is true that there's no literature so to speak, but we don't think there is. There isn't any "literature" on my desk right now, actually. I'm sitting next to a pile of scrap paper from 1825 that held the ramblings of the Governor of Mexico. Why would the archive have this if it isn't literature!? Because someone thought it was important. That's why we archive it.
That's all an archive is. It's just writing that we care about. Even if it is the cringiest, most obscene, self insert production, it's art. Do you not consider fanwork or fan made content to be worth keeping? You prefer you all write our stories in our head and burn our diaries later so we can be miserable on the internet like you? Art like fanfiction has not harmed you in any way and never will affect you, except you are choosing to be mad over it. I want you to ask yourself why.
