It's a shame how much music gets lost because of not being released on official soundtracks. I've been thinking about some of my favorite songs from an old anime and how they and a handful of others weren't put on the soundtrack and are confined to just the episodes themselves, but this also happens in video games with alternate versions of a particular soundtrack or just unused tracks.

In most cases people can rip tracks from games from the files, but with anime it's more difficult and a lot of music just gets stuck where it is, never used again once the anime ends. So much music just left behind and unable to be listened to outside of the episodes.
