Had a fun experience at work yesterday x)
Me: so [New student] are you taking French or Chinese?
Ns: I wanted French but my mom wrote Chinese so Chinese I guess
New Chinese teacher: *comes in and explains that beginners will have a mandatory 2hrs /week class and will spend the normal 4hrs doing homework*
NS, immediately after CT leaves: Can I still change to French?
#Matt has a life#Shit from work#I'm reasonably sure NCT is a plant tbh#Started his tenure badmouthing previous Chinese teacher#(who granted was bad but he'd been there less than 2 weeks)#immediately promoted to head of foreign languages despite 1. the presence of my colleague who's been making French work well#since the school opened 5yrs ago and 2. the fact that his plan to get students to catch up with the rest of their class is to... not#+ kept inviting another Chinese teacher (the only one who actually put effort into her job lmao) out to drink#and I later learned getting teachers to drink and then asking pointed questions about work + the bosses was his mo in another school#I am not into the work atmosphere these people are creating tbh#thankfully: the students
