This is the current cover art design I’m going with for the crossover. This is probably not the final version.
The title is a play on The Color of Magic by Terry Pratchett and The Color Out of Space by HP Lovecraft (which was recently adapted into a Nic Cage film if you want to view a version of the story without racism and homophobia but also has a shitton of neon. all the neon you could ever ask for. just a smorgasbord of neon. obviously i fucking loved it.). Lovecraft would probably hate how gay it is, and Pratchett would probably be just amused.
Over the course of 2020, my brain went down a rabbit hole and decided Sailor Moon counts as cosmic horror... Take that however you will.
#tim drake#chiba mamoru#red robin#yum#tuxedo mask#the cosmic horror is more of a hot take on the manga#i don't think ikuhara was really interested in that kinda thing#and to be fair to him#the og anime was on a consumerized merchandise cycle#that's absolutely fascinating to learn about#because that's why the og series is so formulaic#and the reason crystal isn't as much#is because all the merchandise is $100s#because the fans are adults now#not sure this is working out for them#since millennials both in the us and japan aren't like#made of disposable incomes#no i haven't bought any of the colorpop makeup sets but they do look very pretty
