I have recently come to the conclusion that if my Genshin Impact account was self aware, my Bennet would be slightly even more unlucky than a regular Bennet. This is due to my birthday and since its coming up I've been brainrotting for the past few days. Let me explain:

Bennet's birthday is February 29th, aka Leap Year. This means Benny only has a real birthday once every four years, which is bad enough. But according to canonical game lore, when he doesn't have his actual birthday, he celebrates it on the 28th.

My birthday is February 28th.

Now, I'd like to think that in your typical SAGAU the creator's birthday is a BIG DEAL. I'm talking festivals, parades, feasts, gifts exchanged between friends and family as well as gifts offered to the creator! The whole nine yards! An entire world partying from sunrise to moonset.

So with this in mind, Bennet's birthday would either be celebrated the day after the biggest holiday party in Teyvat (meaning everyone who attends would be all partied out) or during my birthday (meaning that everyone would be focused on ME instead of Bennet, which is just unfair! He can't even take pride in being born the same day as the creator b/c he was born the day after!!!!).

Anyway, if I was isekai'd to Genshin and worshipped as a god, I would simply give Bennet his own holiday. Poor kiddo deserves a win and if it takes me telling my acolytes quote, "Everyone will to celebrate Bennet's holiday. No exceptions, no excuses. And if his holiday party doesn't end up a success, I will destroy all of Teyvat and then myself. :3c" then so be it. That last statement is a joke, but watching everyone try their absolute hardest to give my adopted little brother the best birthday possible would be worth the fear of the vague threat of the world's destruction in the eyes of my worshipers me thinks.

If you add to this brainrot, please feel free to ignore that last part if everyone panicking over the possibility of apocalyptic destruction makes you uncomfortable. Likewise, don't rush this out by my birthday if you don't have time. I'm also in college and have multiple assignments due both before and after my birthday so I know this upcoming week will be hellish in terms of academics. So don't push yourself, okay?

I had a very productive year both in writing and art, so here's hoping 2025 is just as generative!

Ashblind -- While its still only half finished, my biggest accomplishment was finally starting to write my series about my dragonborn, Helon. I've had his story bouncing around in my head since at least 2019, so to finally get it into a publishable state was super exciting! I hope this year I can finish it !

Art Fight 2024 -- Art Fight always pushes me to challenge myself and this year was no exception, can't wait to participate again this year!

Scenic Studies -- I kinda wish I did more of these but I really like this forest one.

Acquired Taste Fic/Art Pieces -- I think this was my largest art piece and one of my favorite short fics from this year.

OC References!! -- I drew so many new references this year!!! All of them are compiled below the cut !

Aaahh haha oh my god recency bias is going to get me, because the longer you write the more your work evolves and the “worse” it feels looking back at older ones… and I have a poor memory… but truly the important thing is that I had fun and wrote what I wanted to write and made many friends and did fun events all along the way! so that helps even if im like “oh nooo what was i doing xyz years ago…” and I can mostly remember which fics feel special… will do my best…

Not in any particular quality order, but just starting with the most recent:

1. damned if i say i do, damned if i don’t - (bllk) biggest labor of love thus far, full of my favorite tropes with my current favorite ship LOL, i love nagireo so very dearly, and the reception to it has been so incredible… tears in my eyes… inspirationnnn was that my friends and i were just tossing ideas around and then this came out of it! and i made a playlist for it which helped with further inspo hehe but talking w friends is definitely the most fun way to brainstorm!

2. heart-trapping championship: (bllk) prior to damned if i say i do this was probably my biggest labor of love LOL, dual pov trying to balance angst humor and fluff! and yearning! it was very fun and im very happy about it still <3

^ 3-5 were all for matchablossom from sk8, the first two were pretty long - i usually dont write long fics so whenever i do they feel p special hahaha - and i know those fics were p important to me at the time, i put a lot of effort in and i rlly liked the concepts :) third one… i just rlly wanted to write fwb matchablossom LOOOL i remember being extra excited to write that one :)

6 & 7 are for sangcheng from mdzs :) sangcheng/mdzs will always be the most special fandom in my heart, i chose these 2 bc they were both for events i had a lot of fun with! however since it has been so long i am reluctant to go back and reread my older writing… 🥲 same with sk8/matchablossom fics oops. but i know i loved and cared for all my fics whenever i wrote them and i always will!

8. black sun: ahhhh lol i wrote this forever ago for magi labyrinth of magic. i remember the way it ended was v important for me and i think it was mainly lil vignettes of yearning hahaha. but i think it took a lot of effort and i was very proud of it!

There are several honorary contenders where I wrote what I wanted to write and had fun doing so and feel pretty satisfied with the results, but that might take too long HAHA as you can tell i struggle with rankings… all my fics are my special yet troublesome gremlin children all in their own way 😂 thank you for asking about them! :)

ah i forgot to say i think the themes for inspo usually are 1) “i really want to write this bc it has tropes i like/i want to see the ship in these scenarios” (either for myself or a friend) 2) music!!!! i love music sm it rlly helps me write 3) canon moments that i want to see more of, or build on! 4) brainrotting with friends!!! i love writing for my friends sm

I normally don’t have much patience and can’t get myself to read anything past like 15k or anything that’s still being worked on, but your story hooked me almost instantly! thank you!! and yes i usually have at least a vague idea of what i want in the story before i start, though a lot of it didn't become concrete until i started writing/things evolving from there. i made a big (slightly) vague timeline of the entire fic from beginning to (almost) end, and then i keep fleshing it out from there as the ideas keep coming to me/evolving, and for each chapter i make an even more detailed outline, and THEN i get started on the final chapter. so its a bit of a process bahaha, but the brainstorming is really fun!! as for any advice, im not sure. maybe just brainstorm/write down scenes and ideas that you know for a fact that you want to put in your fic, and then try to find a way to connect them to other scenes from there and work backwards. basically WRITE WHAT YOU WANT TO READ, cuz like im my own biggest fan fr, thats the most important part LMAO

LMFAO speaking of outlining future events.....this may or may not happen in the future/in an epilogue when clora is pregnant and she got those pregnant woman hormones that seb is fighting for his LIFE to keep up with HAHAHA

LOL. and if you even look back to the beginning of my blog, my first drawings of seb were SO UGLY💀💀 so if you just keep drawing you constantly get better naturally (also in response to the other ask you sent as well, i use clip studio paint to draw!)

YES I HAVE!! me and my friend @kentuckyfriedmegumi wrote the fic is it gay if our pinkies are intertwined together!! i had a dumbass idea and tess enabled me, and after 9 months (3 weeks) we birthed a beautiful baby fic <3 it was so fun writing tgth, our styles melded so well and i was able to outsource the kiss scene to her lol

i love tess and her writing so it was so great to work with her!! i thought co writing would be much harder but with her it was so easy and i would to do it again!! and there are so many authors i would love to collab with as well <33

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

i have this reallyyyy good idea for an itfs fic that’s set 10 years in the future after itafushi goes no contact, and they are forced to be teachers tgth at jujutsu tech (at like 27/28 ish) super slowburn, super intense, lotssss of tension.

but it would definitely have to be multi chapter and i lowk swore off of multi chapters for the foreseeable future since they kinda stress me out so, we’ll see. might happen wayyyyyyy later but not anytime soon.

What are your writing strengths?

i would say my biggest strength is threading canon into alternate universes. ig that’s super fanfic specific but it’s usually my favorite part of writing, seeing how i can interpret them in diff universes, it’s SO fun!

also i think im pretty decent at humor. or well, i make myself laugh and thats all that matters, right?

What are your writing weaknesses?

i think description. i tend to be veryyyy dialogue focused when i write, because i can see the scenes playing out in my head, but that means when i go and fill in description im like. struggling to find words.

i also think my pacing tends to be reallly fast when i don’t mean it to be (see above for why..) andddddd i mix tenses up so often it’s criminal. editing is a bitch.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

hmmm i’m unfortunately monolingual. or technically i’m bilingual but in an obscure language my characters would never know so, prob no dialogue in other languages. i think it hits if done correctly though

What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?

hi!!! i wanted to leave another appreciation ask for you!! lately you've been pumping out SO many bangers, between the incredible endings of can't fix a broken heart, crocodiles gambit, your personal oc work and under the microscope plus so many others like how that ive started to name them im realizing the devil works hard but you work HARDER idk what you do for work but i hope you're not over stressing yourself with all this writing!! its so eloquent and the dialogue is so engaging I have no clue how you get these chapters out to us so fast!! i know ive said it a lot but i hope to be able to call myself ur biggest fan haha and i think its always nice to be reminded of how great you are! so i wanna remind you!! i just got done reading the crocodiles gambit and although i adore your yandere fics since you make them so psychological and suspenseful i gotta say i LOVE this one. it's so sweet and tender at times (also freaky which thanks lol 👅) but crocodile is characterized SO well and the reader actually has a fun personality which i love, yet is enough of a blank slate to project onto which i also love. the way you address trauma and wounds also resonates with me so much, it's so so heartwarming to see that and honestly everyone needs someone to care for them in the way you write love 😭❤️ ur writing makes me SICK in the best ways i have to take small breaks and delegate with myself to go over the complexities of each paragraph it's TOO MUCH!!

I've never written fanfic before, only OC writings, which you know abt ofc, and the fact that this is my FIRST ONE EVER and you made an animatic for it BEFORE CHAPTER 2 EVEN DROPPED?? Insane. I can't wrap my head around it. The fact that I was one chapter in and you and @bunchofdoodlesinspace already made fanart for the fic??? I shit you not, hugely responsible for me plotting out over 10 fucking chapters of this fic. I didn't expect to make this a long fic but here we are and I am OBSESSED with every part of it.

And ofc I'm gonna be the most vocal supporter of your art, I've watched you fucking BLOOM and then some over the what, 6 fucking years?? We've been friends. You're on a level I wanted to be at by now for as long as I can remember, so everything you make to me is breathtaking and I love how experimental you are with what you do because my dumb ass is SOOO annoyingly particular and precious about my art and it's a nightmare to put up with. I love seeing you pop off in ways I personally haven't (yet?), it genuinely inspires me to take a shot at it some day when I have the means.

I've never properly infodumped to someone before because my friends have always been people who like the same things as me and already Understand(tm) so the fact that I not only got to be Extremely Autistic about my silly bird man but also coherently explained so much lore AND have resources prepared to further help myself explain & catch up a newbie is. So rewarding.

And I'm so glad I introduced you not only to PEGS but to the Freaks too because they are the 2 most welcoming and hilarious communities I've ever been a part of, in mcyt or otherwise. I've never felt like it was difficult to sorta worm into them, right away I felt like part of the whole. Literally will never forget the first time a Freak recognized me and greeted me at the start of stream without me saying anything to them first. I'm so happy to introduce you to the same kindness I was shown by them and to have someone to cherish it with.

I am a multi fandom artist and writer, I mainly focus on Oc content as they have been my biggest hyperfixation ever since I was a small child so that's what you'll find the most of here!

I mean, I was more disappointed with myself—I just passed my calculus quiz, but I knew I could have done a lot better since I knew the material well, except I panicked because of the time restriction. It kind of sucks because I’m worried my calculus mark will drop my gpa and it’s stressful bc ✨uni admissions✨ but there’s nothing I can do except hope I do well on my test tmr! it’s actually part of why I responded so late; I had a quiz today (I got 90%!!) and was studying all morning :(( I only logged into tumblr just now, but my day has already brightened reading your message🥰💓💓 (also thank you for the offer babe, but I’m feeling better now🥺💓

yes yes more brainrot please!! warning, this paragraph is just me rambling lol okok anyways mmm yes to everything you wrote but also how they hug you!! like okok going into my personal life, I’m a small bean (fun fact! I’m 4’11 and a neurologist told me I’m never going to hit 5’0”😭) and the boys are over 6’0” like??? i have childhood friends (coincidentally, twin boys who have a similar build to the Miya twins) who are over 6’0” and when they hug me they just kinda fold over me and it’s just an all encompassing hug🥺🥺 I haven’t seen them in over a year tho bc corona so this is just coming from my memories lol but anyways!! going back to our boys, I headcanon that their hugs would be just like that but even more so?? bc romantic relationships🥰🥰 n e ways, imagine back hugs while you’re cooking dinner with them after a long day and they just kinda drape themselves on you like the world’s heaviest blanket and won’t let you go to cook until whatever is on the stove begins to burn, or back hugs while you’re cooking breakfast and they sleepily nuzzle into your neck and leave little pecks on your shoulder that’s exposed bc of how oversized their shirt is on you, or you come surprise them at practice and they just sprint over and full body hug you (lifting you up and spinning you while holding you as close to them as possible) and you can’t even complain about how sweaty they are bc you’re reminded of how genuinely they love you and just hugs🥺🥺 sorry for the long ramble haha I just have so much love for these boys aaa but also I’m glad my last brainrot helped provide inspo for you🥰

OKAY WAIT I thought I was done but love letters!! (this was originally in the same paragraph but it got really long so im making it a second one sorry babes) but omg imagine them handwriting you love letters just because and I say love letters but really I guess I mean notes? (I count those as love letters tho don’t clown me 🥺) some of them are like two sentences clowning you for forgetting your umbrella leaving your house(“remember to bring your umbrella next time because ya look like a drowned rat, sweetheart”) and some of them are little reminders to drink water/eat/sleep, but on some occasions, sometimes on your actual important dates (birthdays, anniversaries) but also sometimes randomly, you’ll get a romantic ass letter talking about all the reasons why they love you and it’s all the little things you do, the small mannerisms that make you, you, like (“I adore the way your curl into me and cling to me when you’re sleepy, as if my lap is the only place you ever want to be” and “the way your tongue always slips to the corner of your mouth when you concentrate is the cutest thing ever, baby” and “the way you do everything you can to support me makes me fall even further into love with you (and I’m never going to stop loving you)” and “I know you think I think you’re crazy for colour coding your document folders, but really, I love how passionate you are about your organization system”) and I’m just dying please i want this to happen in real life🥺🥺 and omgomgomg this would be the cutest thing buT THERES MORE !! imagine that they write you love letters, all throughout your relationship, but they don’t give them to you until either your anniversary or your wedding and it’s just a massive compilation of all the thoughts they’ve had of you throughout the years, your dates, and even the unofficial crushing phase 🥺🥺 ngl I swear that there’s at least one letter talking about how frustrating it is that “you’re so cute, I can’t even coneventrate at practice >:( it’s all your fault that kita-san is lecturing me but you’re cute so I guess it’s okay” like hbshh baby please😭

i’m small too! not as small as you, but i’m 5’1 ans in love with that idea 🥺🥺 more brainrot though! okay okay, so lemme raise you this: hugs after they haven’t seen you in a while. LIKE HEAR ME OUT. so the boys travel, all of the time, for volleyball and games. and the olympics isnt hosted in the same country two years in a row! so i imagine the boys going away for a few weeks for it, and as much as you wanted to be there, you’d told them you wouldn’t be able to, for job related purposes. and like they understand, but they wished you could be there, bc ofc ofc they want you cheering them on. so, they’re at the olympics and they’re getting ready to start, when they spot you standing next to Hajime (either next to the coaches or in a special spot, so you stood out.) and the biggest grin breaks out on their face when they see you waving and cheering for them. and whenever the game is over and they’re able to get to you, baby is sprinting. he catches you and just easily lifts you up in his arms, showering your face in kisses. yes, he’s sweating, yes, it’s gross, but you don’t care, because he looks like an excited puppy, because you’re here and you’re his. and now everyone is staring and everyone knows that you’re his and that’s never going to change. then, he brings you to his teammates, showing you off with a proud smile and they all have a knowing smile because this is not the first time he’s done this. but it’s sweet so they deal with it.

and omg yes!! that’s the cutest thing ever! i love that so much. 🥺🥺 istg im taking notes for drabbles later, baby. that is so cute!

but also like (one of my love languages is gifts) so like. the boys aren’t used to the random items you leave. in their locker, in their gym bag, in their hoodie/jacket, when you give it back to them. they don’t know how to react at first to the gifts, which range. sometimes it’s their favorite energy drinks, sometimes it’s a new game, sometimes a stuffed animal, jewelry, or something sentimental, it all just depends. sometimes they’ll give you a gift in return, but you also let them know that they don’t have to, it’s just your way of showing you love them, and you just genuinely enjoy giving them gifts.
