Dagny

It’s about time I finished this build, i’ve been working on it for a while as the third part of my Sims Shuffle Challenge. Backbeat by Dagny has been living in my playlist since 2016 and everytime I listen to it, it reminds me of the fun of a music festival so that’s what I built! It’s 1/2 generic British summertime music festival, and 1/2 what I would imagine Coachella to be like

The build itself has 5 main sections:

The entrance with a ticket area, security gate, merch store and information area

The main stage which also has a bar, a cafe, two food stalls, a flower wall for photos, a medical tent, a daycare tent and a couple of toilet stalls

The VIP section which has access to the VIP bar tent, the backstage area and the VIP yurts

The camping area which has several tents and a couple of BBQ barrels

1. Moi, Je Prouve

Tayc (feat. Barack Adams)

I figured I should take the time to start my own challenge and I’m glad this is the first song that came up because it’s been living in my mind rent free for days

While listening, I thought of a couple in love, one person had pulled up to the other’s apartment to ask them to hang out after a long day at work, with this song blaring from the radio

The original idea stuck, but then I looked up a translation of the lyrics and they were a lot sadder than I first thought, so I added the ‘resolution’ of an argument into the narrative (maybe one that’s been going on for longer than we know)

I usually post casual gameplay so this is my first storytelling post, I hope to get better at photo editing in the future, but for now, I’m proud of it

Also shout outs to the Simblr storytellers, you all make it look so beautiful and effortless but making this post made me realise just how difficult (and long) the process is so thank you for all your work

Calling all Simblrs! So I thought of this challenge idea whilst listening to Watermelon Sugar and thinking what a movie scene with Watermelon Sugar playing over it would be like

I recognise that something like this has already been done before (shout outs to @rockethorse, whose CAS Music Challenge I found in my market research) but hopefully my version is able to add something new to existing challenges

The Rules

Choose one of your playlists, press shuffle, and for the first 10 songs that come up, post either a sim, a build or a short storyline for each song

This can be related to anything about the song, from the title, to the lyrics to the general vibe that you feel from it. For example, if you were listening to  Watermelon Sugar, you could post a scene that you think the song would play over, or you could create a build that looks like a literal watermelon, anything goes!

You can do all builds for all 10 songs, all sims for all 10 songs, all storylines for all 10 songs, or you can mix and match and do different ones for different songs

Just like with @rockethorse‘s challenge, you can swap out one song for another, but it has to be 10 songs, and write what inspired you about the song whilst you were building/storytelling/create-a-simming

And that’s it! This is just for fun, so go at your own pace and feel free to take creative liberties, I don’t mind! I just love seeing all the talent on Simblr and thought this would be a cool challenge to do
