Heyhey! Pfeeeeeeeeew okay... I am finally uploading the poses I made for my Halloween post this year. I am so so busy and getting everything sorted out took me quite a while but here we are: my biggest posepack I have ever made. I am unbelievably proud of it and I hope you like it too :)

A few little notes

The poses are not in order of the movie, I just made them in whatever order I wanted to. I did add pictures for every single pose so you can easily find them if you are looking for a specific one!

Неужели для этого было достаточно несколько раз подержаться за руки? Эрвин до смерти боится военных машин, и поэтому мне частенько приходилось переводить его через дорогу, как ребенка или старушку. Несколько раз я приходила к нему в трейлер и готовила еду — было невозможно без слез смотреть на то, как бедняга изо дня в день жует засохшую пиццу и бутерброды с ветчиной. Как ни крути, я к нему привязалась...

Эрвин никак не мог запомнить, как меня зовут, и упорно называл меня Айви. Откуда он вообще взял это имя? Отчаявшись в своих попытках научить своего потрясающего «бойфренда» обращаться ко мне правильно, я смирилась. Айви, так Айви. Зачем перечить персонажу, живущему в альтернативной реальности? Ни для кого не было секретом, что Эрвин с детских лет беседует с невидимыми друзьями и прячется от несуществующих врагов. Я была абсолютно уверена в том, что «Айви» — это кто-то из них. Ах, если бы я только знала, с ĶĘΜ он проводит время в те часы, когда мой разум блуждает по фиолетовым нездешним лабиринтам!..

Upon closer acquaintance, Pries turned out to be a nice guy, pathetically helpless in everyday life and completely devoid of business sense. And almost immediately he decided that we are a couple! Was it really enough to hold my hand a few times for him to think that? Erwin is terrified of military trucks, so I often had to shepherd him across the road like a child or an old lady. Several times I went to his trailer and cooked food for him — it was impossible to watch the poor fellow munching on stale pizza and ham sandwiches day by day. However, I got attached to him…

Erwin couldn't remember my name and he persistently called me Ivy. Where did he get that name from? Desperate in my attempts to teach my awesome "boyfriend" to address me properly, I made my peace with it. Let it be Ivy. Why argue with sim living in an alternate reality? It was no secret that Erwin had been talking to invisible friends and hiding from non-existent enemies since he was a child. I was absolutely certain that "Ivy" was one of them. Ah, if only I knew ŴĦØ he was spending time with when my mind was wandering through the purple otherworldly labyrinths!..

using the sims 4 build mode as god intended: making rooms for my silly little rpg characters: Rook Edition

idk if Rook gets a room in the Lighthouse (i would assume so) but i thought it would be neat to try and design a hypothetical room for my Rook, Phryne Ingellvar.

She's a well-traveled older lady, having spent some years as a mercenary before she returned to Nevarra to raise her children, so she's got a lot of knick-knacks and trinkets she's collected from all over Thedas.

She's a great lover and patron of the arts, hence all the paintings. I headcanon that one of her lovers was an Orlesian painter who had her pose for a nude, and the artwork that resulted from that is just floating around somewhere in the world lmao.

She also likes to bake, so there's always a supply of cookies/sweets in her room for anyone who swings by to visit.

Tag Game for Historical Simblrs! 📖

1. What has been your favorite time period to play in or which one are you most excited for?

Since I’m currently only in the early 1900s (in game), I’ll say which time period I’m looking forward to! It has to be, without a doubt, the 50s-70s. The fashion, the music, the art! It’s all just so- ugh. Y’know? I absolutely can’t wait for the hair and beautiful swing dresses!

2. Do you have a favorite piece of historical cc? (CAS or BB)

Oh god, do I have to pick just one? This is so hard 😭 This may be a little odd, but it could be this dress for toddlers/infants by vintagesimstress. It’s just so easy to pop that on a toddler when there’s so little historical cc for them, and much less for infants! It’s a godsend in my save.

3. Who is your favorite sim currently?

You all haven’t met them yet, but one of Walter and Eva’s children I’ve grown so attached to. They’re the absolute cutest and I really hope I can do their story justice!

4. What is your favorite world?

Glimmerbrook! I love the woods and the river that runs through the tiny, little world. Plus, the aesthetics of the spellcasters is just gorgeous. Close second would have to be Forgotten Hollow, which is a shame because I don’t know if I’ll ever have my historical sims live in either of those worlds. 😓

5. Are you more gameplay or story focused?

Hm, honestly I’m not sure. I try my best to balance out both so I don’t burn myself out, so I’d have to say I’m both!

6. Do you like to play with pets in your historical saves?

I try to, but honestly they’re so annoying to deal with. 😭 I really don’t like Sims 4 pets, which is a shame because I love pets in the previous Sims games. Pets, if I ever incorporate them in the story, will be for story purposes only!! 😅

7. What’s your biggest immersion breaking pet peeve with the game?

NPCs who are dressed in jeans and a tshirt! I am so grateful for the NPC overrides by cowplant-snacks. Am I gonna suffer once long skirts are out of fashion? Yes. But for now I am happy with my lil victorian mailmen strolling around my game 😌

8. What’s your favorite in-game historical item? (CAS or BB)

The entire Vampires gamepack catalog. I use those items for nearly every build for the time period I’m planning in, and they’re all just so pretty. Maybe excluding the coffins.

9. What would you like to see as a new pack or asset to the game?

I’d like more things for children to do! And I don’t mean another activity table. Although Growing Together did help with that, I still struggle with things children and toddlers can actively do. I rely on mods to sometimes send them to rabbithole activities because I just have nothing for them to do once they max out their childhood skills. So yeah! Maybe like, an arcade pack or something?

10. What pack do you think is invaluable as a historical simmer?

Cottage Livings, hands down. In those earlier years, if you don’t want to play as an already richer family, playing as a simple farmer is not only fun but realistic! I have another historical save that I play from time to time just for myself, and my family starts out farming and having chickens and cows and it’s all just so fun!

11. Do you have a favorite mod to enhance historical gameplay?

There’s so many, but I highly recommend the Phone to Notebook Replacement Mod by ayoshi. For some reason, mods that are supposed to make Sims not pull out their phone ever two minutes just don’t work in my game, so this mod just allows them to continue to be obsessed with their phones, they’re just now little notebooks! No time travellers in my game.

12. What’s your ideal family size for playing?

For strictly gameplay, I usually prefer families about 3-4 in size. The Baudelaires will eventually grow to 7 in total, which is a lot of Sims for me, but I’m excited to have the challenge!

14. Do you use any overrides in your game?

Oh my god, yes. I have so many, from eye overrides to cloud overrides. Also, just the few I’ve listed here, just help so much with immersion! I couldn’t play this game without them.

15. Do you, or did you, play off-the-grid during your game?

I really tried to at first, there are just not a lot of necessities that actually WORK off the grid, cc or otherwise. So I just replaced everything I could with older looking electronics. Although, I really wanted the lighting from the candles. Yes, it’s bad at times, but I like it for some odd reason.

16. What lifespan do you play on?

Long/custom lifespan settings! Since every four days is equal to one year in my game, I tried to reflect that in the lifespans.

17. What inspired you to start playing a historically?

I’m almost positive it was the amazing Pixelnrd. I actually started this blog as a royal simblr! I was scrolling around on Tumblr and found Pixelnrd’s blog and that was that. I’ve always loved history and once I found this challenge, I fell in love with the idea of it!

1. What’s your favorite sims death? Same as Jase, I never let my sims die! When they get old, I usually start a new game haha. I get way too attached to my lil pixel babes

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? A little mix tbh, I like both, and as long as they work together, I see no problem in swinging between the two!

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? I usually have them eat healthier and jog a few times, so no!

4. Do you use move objects? All the time, its always on in my game

5. Favorite mod? I cannot at this point live without default skins/lashes and eyes, as well as hair, cc wise. I can go without any other cc! Mods wise, Lumpinou First Impressions is a must, as is Pandasama's Birth mod. Gamechanging.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? The Sims, Hot Date! I have been around a long time!

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? aLIVE

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? Probably Forrest, he was an accidental baby (actually a twin) and I ignored him till he was a young adult, as I was playing his sisters and his parents, then something happened, and I just fell in love with him!

9. Have you made a simself? Nope, not yet.

10. What sim traits do you give yourself? I don't have one, but I would say Loner, Clumsy and Bookworm

11. Which is your favorite EA hair color? Dark, either black or dark brown

12. Favorite EA hair? For female the werewolves med cut with the bangs, and for male probably the university short style, cant explain it so I will show it! Also, this is Forrest who I spoke of above :)

13. Favorite life stage? Young Adult

14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? A mix of everything, thats why I love The Sims, if I start playing, and I can't get into gameplay, I just start renovating my save, or making new sims, or maybe some posing/storytelling. The game can be played in so many ways, and I love all of it ♥

15. Are you a CC creator? Nope, I have no idea even how to do a simple recolour!

16. Do you have any Simblr friends/a Sim Squad? I met a lot of really good people on Twitter, who I am proud to call my friends now ♥

17. What’s your favorite game? (1, 2, 3, or 4)? The Sims 4, for sure. I know its controversial, but I love its style, and its the first game I have been able to get into building and storytelling. The worlds are beautiful. Tartosa is by far one of my favourites

20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? I think so!

fights get a bit harder after you leave the mindflayer ship, which is nice. admittedly i'm making things way harder for myself than it should be because of a misclick that left me without eldritch blast so my character is kinda useless as soon as she fires her spell slots -_- I'll be able to fix it at level 4 so I just gotta hold out to then.

the jumping animation in this game is really funny. massive anticipation pose where you swing your arms back and then it's like HURGH! and you hurl yourself up a meter high ledge or something. the relatively realist style of character design makes it way funnier looking than a more cartoony character jumping the same height.

vfx and sfx for spells and stuff is generally very good.

I found the posh vampire dude that everyone's super horny for. he's got little pointy teeth and everything. I bet his player would be a riot at the table, just really leaning into the whole secretly-a-vampire thing, doing the accent and all.

was discussing the character creator with some friends. it's fascinating how we've gone from the days of the 'hot coffee' controversy and the god of war one-boob-out controversy to like, an era where major CRPGs are straight up just eroge now. I mean we've always had the kind of like dating sim element in Bioware games bu they would always leave everything explicit to the modders. but now it seems at some point they looked at what sort of mods that every single RPG gets and decided to just... make that the game.

also interesting how like, they market it all on Diversity and Inclusion but what that mostly seems to mean is there are four possible bodies and you can swap the genitals. apparently you basically have to top if you have penis a, penis b, penis c or penis d but i guess we'll find out later.

I am generally of the feeling that it's better to have a character with an actual identity and history than a blank slate customisable character. admittedly if you're Disco Elysium you can somehow do both, but most games do not have the writing chops of Disco Elysium. I think this applies extra to eroge. the emotional context of a sex scene is everything - without that you're just kind of prodding two dolls together. but if the MC is a blank slate, if you're forbidden from writing about how they are feeling, how can you narrate that in a way that is in any way intimate? of course, ero VNs did infamously have a period of blank-slate self-insert literally faceless protagonists, but to my knowledge they broadly ended up moving away from that - and the context there tends to be one where the MC can be vulnerable.

so far Baldur's Gate 3 has taken the route of throwing you into a situation where your history is largely irrelevant, because the main factor in the situation is the mind flayer parasite. that's a decent concept, but I do rather kind of find myself wishing my MC would like... express some kind of emotion about it.

it's not for nothing that players tend to be fond of the Dark Knight storyline in FFXIV, because that's just about the only place in the game that the Warrior of Light gets to feel anything that isn't on the range of 'blandly heroic' to 'mildly sardonic but still unflappable'. even though it's handled in a fairly clunky way of writing it all in the quest log and manifesting a tulpa to do the emoting for you.

one thing that could have been really interesting, in probably a very different sort of game, would be to cast the player in the role of the mind flayer parasite - you are an external and deeply violating force overriding the will of these characters, who resent you for it. they seem to be playing towards a kind of thing where you have to choose whether to try to control and take advantage of the parasite, or if you're just trying to remove it asap, but wouldn't that be fun to see from the parasite's eye? it would also be a neat diegetic explanation for how you're able to control the whole party etc. etc.

anyway, I'm getting way ahead of myself here, I should actually play a bit more of the game before making any real conclusions...

baldur gate

belatedly joining the bg3 train. I played BG1 when I was a kid but never got around to BG2. here are my observations:

the hair and skin rendering. good god. the rest of the game looks decent enough but they really went all out on the characters. I have to know what technique they're using for that hair there, it responds to light so well, and it can handle a variety of hair textures and stuff. ...look I know what a nerdy start this is this is literally my job ok >&lt;

the character designer gives you four different types of penis to choose from, but there's no face customisation sliders, just a choice of about ten presets. i know this game is basically an eroge but still, lmao.

no body sliders in general actually. might need to look into mods because the bodies in this game are kinda weird. everyone's sorta uniformly ripped, I can't make my boobs smaller, etc. etc. (and of course the whole 'nobody can be fat' thing that has been commented on often). I think I need to get some mods.

mind flayer body horror stuff is tasty. that opening cutscene goes so hard. og Baldur's Gate games would have some fun in their cutscenes - I still remember the one with the blood flowing around the cobblestones - but a plane-hopping battle with multiple dragons and a big squid spaceship is setting the bar pretty high. look forward to seeing if the rest of the game can live up to it.

there's something wonderfully tabletop about the first two companions being... well. the first player I can imagine being like 'yeah so here is my lore-accurate gith, I learned the gith language and everything, I've written a thirty page backstory for her' and the second player is just 'yeah here's my elf, she's called... Shadowheart'. they shoulda made her a warlock (but it's lucky they didn't because then we'd have two warlocks)

the starting armour for those two companions looks absolutely shit. it looks like it's spraypainted plastic, especially since it's skinned in a way where rigid metal parts bend at the joints. just way too busy as designs. I need to find some better drip for these girls asap.

of course I played a warlock. I almost always play warlocks in D&D. it's such a chuuni class and there's a lot of conflict potential in the patron thing. also I hear this is a game where it pays to have good cha on the MC, which pretty much limits you to bard, sorc and lock. I hope they make patron interactions a thing in this game.

the implementation of 5e combat as a CRPG is pretty thorough! also, D&D combat works way better on the PC where you can resolve everything in five minutes than it does at the table. I put it on Tactician mode but so far it's been pretty trivial, I look forward to more interesting encounters down the line.

the d20 rolling UI is kinda ostentatious huh

overall, seems promising. that said this isn't a liveblog, probably. unless I run into something particularly interesting.

New Year’s Eve Part 2/3

After a few too many drinks at the Waterside Warblers bar in San Myshuno, both Alexandra and Marcos wanted to dance. Unfortunately the venue was inundated with NYE celebrators; people were spilling out on to the sidewalk and the two could barely move.

“Follow me - I worked here when I was in college.” Marcos grinned and motioned for Alexandra to follow him. He guided her up a ladder hidden between some karaoke rooms that led them to the second floor of the venue; empty aside from an unstocked bar, a broken DJ booth, a stereo with a single channel and a dance floor. “It’s perfect. Let’s dance!” Alexandra chuckled, her inhibitions long gone after her second Ridgeport.

When the cheers from below alerted them that it was 1 minute to midnight, Marcos looked over at Alexandra and realised that if he didn’t do it now, he never would. He grabbed Alexandra’s hand and spun her out before spinning her back towards him and into a dip. He picked her up as the party goers downstairs began to chant down from 10. “Oh...” Alexandra gasped as they looked into eachother’s eyes.  Slowly, he lowered her, neither breaking away from the gaze. “3... 2...” As the bar erupted into cheers and the horns went off, they kissed.
