Beat me to it!

A Garden of Shadows 3t2 airstrip conversion plus smaller version by Treehawk. Now in HD!

Turns out Treehawk on Gardenofshadows uploaded the same hood deco airstrip I was working on not even a couple months before I uploaded mine, plus with a smaller version and both in HD texture.

Also the mesh is lowered to allow hood deco planes to be placed on these without clipping. These versions are done much better imho, and I could take a few pointers.

Hello! I only recently started using tumblr to search for sims2 cc so I am not really familiar with popular creators who do awesome stuff. I've loved some of the things I've found from you! I was wondering if you have an idea of some creators I could reach out asking for a custom mod/functional objects? I would really love to have actual spas for my sims where they can get facials and mani/pedis. Mud baths and seaweed wraps would be so cool to. Who do you think would be interested in making this

I'm not sure who takes requests for that kind of stuff, mods can be complicated so it's sometimes hard to take on a project unless it grabs you. The GardenOfShadows forum has a Wish section where you can post an idea and see if anyone wants to fulfill it

@crispsandkerosene recreated the Sims 1 Spa Tub for Sims 2, Sims can bathe in milk, mud, or sulfur. An old creator called PCSims made a salon table, there's info about it here. I think it works like the salon chair where it opens the screen to change a Sim's appearance and there's a worker who gets paid, but the animations look like the Sim is getting their nails done

Ur right about how the clout shifting to CC creators is probably what played the biggest shift into how the sims community became pro-paywalling. Back in TS2 era, it was storytellers and legacy challenges commentators who had all the “clout”, while the big CC makers were foreign creators. We had modders like Peacado and GardenofShadows content creators, but they were huge advocates of free cc. Now that CC makers hold all the power and decided to monetize it, they created this cult of personality

Thank you for this insight, nonny. I wasn't part of the sims 2 modding community, but it makes a lot of sense to me that the views of the biggest creators would have an impact on the whole community. It trickles down from the top. And it is very, very rare that large cc creators (especially ones that have been around since the start and thus have more respect) are anti-paywall. It's mostly smaller blogs and they're simply no match compared to the "top of the top" especially now that EA is latching on and promoting them regardless of the wrong they've done. I think it would take some fairly large blogs speaking out and I don't think they ever will. Even then, they might also be ostracized and attacked. Depends on who it was and how much clout they have. Cult of personality is a very fitting phrase.

Hiya :) ! (First off, love your creations & thank you for sharing <3) I'm especially loving your Cottage Maid dress, but have an issue with the shoes being invisible. I have a default replacement of the base game maid dress that shoe swaps the outfit with docs that seems to be causing this. (It won't let me post the link but it's the gardenofshadows one found on the sims 2 default database). Would it be possible to request your Cottage Maid outfits to be replaced with docs like that?

Hi! Yes, I keep forgetting to mention that if you have default replacements for outfits (especially NPC outfits) then my recolours may not work correctly. Is there any chance you could reply to this post with a link to the specific default you use, and I'll see if I could make the textures work with it?

Hello! I need to say thank you very much for making dresses as tops. Being more used to sims 3, sims 2 cas has always been kinda frustrating in that department (and others, but I love the game just as much, what can I say hehe). "Don't include my mesh with your recolors, link back to my website!" was the worst thing sims 2 players ever came up with besides paysites. Now there are tons custom content nobody can use because the website the mesh was hosted on went offline 14 years ago. A close runner up to worst thing would be useless undescriptive file names of sims 2 files named after emo song lyrics or whatever (thanks for that trend, gardenofshadows!). You have to open it up in SimPE to see what it even is and what subfolder it belongs in.
