[motogp anon] about the joan mir au,,,
basically reader is a single mother and is a news reporter and is covering a story during a motogp race week, whilst also bringing her kid (son/daughter, either is fine!) but kid gets lost because the kid likes wandering off on their own (and yn was busy reporting smthng), then the kid runs into joan. joan returns the kid, and BOOM! meets the reader and falls in love at first sight :*
little matchmaker | joan mir
motogp anon, this request is amazing 🫶🏼🫶🏼 thank youuuu and I’m such a sucker when it comes to driver/riders with kids 😭 also you can imagine whichever grand prix for this one and also the faceclaim 🫶🏼
TWO SOULS DON’T FIND EACH OTHER BY SIMPLE ACCIDENT
Y/n was getting ready to go get her interviews started with a couple of riders before the Grand Prix started. “Okay, we’re good.” A worker said as she was handed a microphone.
“Mama!” A young girls voice yelled as she ran to her mother and hugged her legs.
“Sofia, honey, mama has to work. Why don’t you go stand with Lucy over there?” Y/n pointed to her co-worker, Lucy, who behind the camera pointing it at Y/n.
“But I want to stay with you!” Sofia whined and hugged her mother tightly.
“I know you do, but mama has to ask questions right now. I’ll be done soon.” Y/n explained to the girl who groaned in response and walked towards Lucy.
“Okay, now I’m ready.” Y/n gave a thumbs up and cleared her throat.
“Three, two and we’re live.”
Sofia was bored. Standing next to Lucy was boring her so she walked off hoping to find something interesting to do. Y/n was busy asking Jorge Martin a couple questions so she was completely unaware that her little girl had wandered off.
Sofia looked around and saw many people walking in different directions. She had spotted an electric scooter parked on the side of a motorhome. She approached it and poked the seat, afraid that if she layed a hand on it the whole scooter would fall on its side.
“Boo!” A man’s voice startled her.
“That wasn’t nice!” She raised her voice and pointed a finger at the man.
“You’re right, I’m sorry. But poking someone’s scooter isn’t nice either.” He replied and crouched down to reach her level of eyesight.
“This is yours?” Sofia asked. “Can I ride it?”
“You’re little. Plus I don’t think your parents would like that I’m letting you drive something that’s way bigger than you.”
“But I’m growing! Last night I was this tall and then this morning I’m more taller! Mama said so.” Sofia explained.
“And where is your mama? I don’t see her.” He looked around for her mother but it looked like no one was around to claim the little girl.
“She’s asking questions, that’s her job. But I got bored so I came here.”
“Well that’s not a nice thing to do to your mama. She’s going to be worried about you. You said her job is to ask questions?”
Joan took the girl’s hand and together they walked around the paddock. Sofia talked to him as if she knew him her whole life. Joan was more than happy to answer any questions the little girl had like ‘how fast can you go on a motorcycle?’ or ‘do you know the muffin man?’
Finally they reached the main spot where most interviews are conducted. “Do you see your mama?” Joan asked the girl.
Sofia looked around then spotted her mother speaking on the phone while Lucy comforted her. “There!” Sofia pointed and dragged Joan towards her mother. “Mama!”
Y/n ended the phone call and let out a sigh of relief. “You scared me, Sofia. You don’t run off like that ever again, okay?” She took the little girl into her arms and kissed Sofia’s cheek.
“I’m sorry, I was bored.” Sofia apologized. “But guess what?”
“What?” Y/n asked.
“Joan said he knows the muffin man and that he can go super fast on his motorcycle!”
Y/n lightly chuckled. She turned her attention to Joan, who she was meeting for the first time even though they worked together.
“I found her looking at my scooter by my motorhome.” Joan explained. He always heard stories about love at first sight but he didn’t think they were true at all. How could someone fall in love with a person they just met? But now that he saw her, he decided that love at first sight was real.
“I’m going to get Sofia something to eat.” Lucy said and grabbed Sofia’s hand.
“Bye, Joan! Next time, can we ride your scooter on the track?” Sofia asked.
“If your mama says it’s okay.” Joan replied with a smile.
“I’ll think about it. Go with Lucy, baby.” Y/n said.
Sofia and Lucy walked away, leaving Joan and Y/n alone together. This was his chance to ask her out. But then his thoughts started to cloud his mind.
‘She’s probably still together with Sofia’s dad’
‘She’s married’
‘She’s going to think I’m unprofessional’
“Thank you for bringing back my daughter. She’s always running around.” Y/n finally thanked Joan.
“No problem. She’s really funny, made me laugh on the way over here many times.” Joan admitted. “I’m Joan, I don’t think I told you my name.”
“I know . . I mean I know who you are because you’re a rider and you’re a world champion, yeah sorry if I ramble a little too much. I’m Y/n.”
“Y/n . . . I love your name.” He thought he had said it in his head but realized he actually said it when Y/n started to chuckle.
“Thank you. And thank you again for bringing Sofia back to me. I’ll see you around, Joan.” Y/n smiled then started to walk away.
Stupid! Say something to her!
“Would you like to get dinner sometime? I don’t know if you’re interested and if you’re not then I completely understand. I probably sound stupid even asking because you’re probably in a relationship. You’re a really lovely person and I wish I had met you earlier in my life. I find it impossible not to like you.” He blurted out.
Y/n stood in front of Joan completely speechless. This was something straight out of a romance novel.
“Your silence is really killing me so can you please say something.” Joan said.
“I don’t have a babysitter.” She replied.
“That’s not a problem for me. We can all go out to eat together. Not to brag, but I think Sofia likes me.”
“Sofia isn’t the only one.”

everything always falls together just in time for it to fall apart.
I couldn't wait to leave for 6 weeks. and, as John green once tackily said, 'falling in love is like falling asleep. slowly, and then all at once'. it all clicked into place. and the reasons why I have to leave, too, have all clicked into place: I hate my job. Now I've quit my job. Taylor concert in Melbourne, need to be in Melbourne. boyfriend flying into Sydney, need to pick him up in Sydney on the way down. 2 favorite Aussie bands at a music festival hours and hours' drive into the middle of nowhere; need my car to get there. Got to drive from QLD to Sydney to Melb. Housemate is leaving to go to England next week anyway, a lot of what I like about it here will be gone. Well, now I've found more things to like. Well, now the landlord is selling the house. Well, housemates are getting a new place together but I've still got all the other things that render me staying impossible. Well, now there's a cyclone headed straight for this region that I've got to outrun. Now there's a girl I know who wants a ride south who will help me with gas when I'm financially stressed. Time to go. Now.
There is no other answer but to leave. One of my housemates is a big believer in the power of the universe and when it wants you to do things. And yet, I wish I could stand here and brace myself against the gale force winds of the cyclone, feet cemented to the earth, and stay. I keep thinking, "if it wasn't for this I would stay", "if it wasn't for this I would stay" and before I've known it, "this" is literally every single factor that could possibly be worth considering except for where my heart is. I think it through and I know it's true: I came to Australia to see Taylor and I'd die without doing so. My boyfriend is flying in and I need to see him, and the impending cyclone would keep us apart his entire trip here if I don't leave to meet him; he couldn't fly up and I couldn't drive down any later than tomorrow. He wants to see the Great Ocean Road, I need my car in Victoria for the music festival. 2/3 of the people I love here are leaving and if I stay it won't be the same anyway; it won't be worth missing everything else for.
But my heart is tethered to the one street in town and the 2 palm trees on the beach that are beautiful to sit under on a sunny day, and to the girl at the boba tea spot who always looks so happy to see me and the sweet woman who owns the coffee shop I frequent, and the grass on the great lawn overlooking the turquoise sea and the memories of the books I've read in the marina, and the breakfasts I've eaten and taken for granted on the deck in the morning light filtered through the bamboo and birds of paradise plants. All the things that were, for the most fleeting moment, simple things about my home. My day to day life. Only about 2 weeks ago did I realize how extraordinary these things were compared to what my life in New York looked like. The novelty of the turquoise water and staring out at the sun glistening off the ships and the beach a 2 minute drive away and the most loving, maybe closest friends I've ever had living in my home; waiting for me to cook dinner and debrief the day over wine every single day. Taking an electric scooter around when I can't drive. the orange flowers that hang over the driveway. For these two weeks I have looked at everything with the sense of nostalgia and wonderment I will one day look back on it with, so as to not look back and think about how I didn't appreciate it.
I still don't think I appreciated it. How could someone ever live in an affordable and wonderfully furnished house 2 minutes from the beach and want to leave? With good coffee and colorful flowers and an ocean the temperature of a heated pool. I know there are reasons why I did, but now that the "nostalgia" I feel will become the present and not the future in just 24 hours, I feel sick to my stomach. Katie asked me if I'd packed yet and the thought of leaving this room empty never to see it again left me sick to my stomach. Another chapter of my life coming to an abrupt halt. This one, like the sun breaking through in the middle of an endless rainstorm. And just as you're reveling in the glory of the daylight, the clouds roll back in. They go on as far as the eye can see.
I don't know if I will ever find anything like this again in the whole time I am alive. Struggle has presided over my entire time in Australia thus far, and struggle is all I see on the horizon as I am unsure where I will go next in this country, how I will earn money, or where I will live. I am dreading seeing my boyfriend and cannot even place excitement for it in my brain, because it means I will be gone from here and back into the storm of uncertainty and all the bad things this country has brought me. The past few weeks in this place were the rainbow filled eye of a terrible cyclone, one far bigger than the one that is currently stampeding towards this place.
I do not want to go back to the rain.

Why do all electric vehicle companies occupy Warehouse and Industrial space in Hosur?
With the electric buzz that has taken the nation by storm, the Government is planning to develop EV parks in the same line as SEZ and pharma parks across the country. The EV park aims to house majority original equipment manufacturers, battery manufacturers, and charging infrastructure developers at one place. With the vision to develop an entire ecosystem at one same place, the Government plans to offer plug-and-play business models to EV industries who will set up their units in these parks. One such park is located in north western districts of Tamil Nadu, just across the Karnataka border from Bengaluru, which houses a number of new-age EV companies, such as, Ather Energy, Ola Electronics, Simple Energy, among others.
The Rise of Hosur Several factors have helped the Hosur belt boom with several big-ticket projects and investments in the region. The cluster witnessed two substantially high profile investments in the last couple of years, with Tata electronics setting up a ₹5,000-crore mobile components plant at Udhanapalli, and Ola, a ₹2,500-crore electric vehicle (EV) plant at nearby Pochampally. These massive investments triggered the new EV boom in Hosur, with EV companies preferring Hosur for putting up their manufacturing units given a competent ancillary supplier network, proximity to Bengaluru where corporate offices of these companies are located, plus amicable and skilled labour force in two-wheeler, automotive, and electronics segment.
Well-oiled Supply-chain Network The region is equipped with a strong supply-chain ecosystem, making it easier for the companies to locally source components necessary for manufacturing and assembly. This, in turn, would help us in improving cost and time efficiency for the businesses. Moreover, companies are prompting tier-2 suppliers to move their base to Hosur area, to make smaller components in the close vicinity to further add to the efficiency.
Financial SOP and Easier Admittance EV companies in the Hosur area are upheld by EV policy contrived by Tamil Nadu Government. The policy is drafted to support EV companies with repayment of SGST for electric vehicle producing, capital appropriation for battery fabricating, business motivation as far as repayment of EPF for a time of one year, exclusion from instalment of Electricity Tax till 2025 and 100 percent stamp obligation exception.
Proximity to Bengaluru As most of the corporate offices are located in Bengaluru, the first preference of companies is to put up a plant within a comfortable driving distance from head office. As most of the senior employees and mid-level management sit at the head office, most of the companies want employees to be able to move between the office and the plant in an hour or so maximum. For instance, Ather Energy corporate office is located in Koramangala, which is 60 minutes away from the Ather Energy plant in Hosur. Moreover, the connection via Electronics city flyover helps cut through the traffic, which was initially the pain point of employees moving between Koramangala and Whitefield, where Ather Energy plant was located.
Availability of Land and Scalability Scope Given the area related bottleneck in Bengaluru, it is essential for EV companies or any other manufacturing units to look into areas nearby that can accommodate projected production capacity and growth plans. Given, land investments are not made again and again, it is always advisable for the companies to take up the area based on the most optimistic business projections. With the same thought, Ather Energy Hosur plant is spread across 300,000 Sq. Ft. with capacity to produce 1,10,000 scooters annually. Ather Energy envisions that the plant will serve as Ather Energy’s national manufacturing hub, catering to demand from across the country. Moreover, the plant is nearly 10 times the capacity of the Whitefield, Bengaluru, plant.
Hosur Historic Precedence Within the close proximity to Bengaluru, Hosur area has historically been a dominant space for two wheeler, automotive, and electronics business segments. Given that EV is primarily an amalgamation of these three segments, it is therefore a natural choice for EV companies to develop manufacturing units in the Hosur area. Moreover, with established and consistent access to power, land, and labour relevant to the industry, Hosur is the first choice of investment. Furthermore, a lot of fossil-fuelled automotive industries are also expanding into the EV segment. This has prompted an easy transition for existing automotive companies in the area. Also, as Tamil Nadu has over 800 engineering colleges, the state offers an intellectual and skilled labour pool ensuring steady stream for the workforce.
Amicable Labour and Supportive Workforce In the area, it is widely noted that the kind of labour unrest Bengaluru witnesses is not seen in the Tamil Nadu north western districts, which are barely an hour away from each other. The most plausible reason for this could be the existential automotive businesses in the Hosur area, unlike Bengaluru, where labourers are experiencing the automotive industry for the first time. In Hosur, both industry and labour have matured, and the companies have learnt that exploitative practices are rather counter-productive. Therefore, most of the EV companies find this a huge draw in making investment decisions in the Hosur area.
Hosur Meteoric rise and the way ahead Given the reasons above along with a network of highways facilitating logistics of movement and the welcoming policies set by the Tamil Nadu Government for automotive companies, Hosur belt is emerging as an industrial bowl for the electric vehicle manufacturers. Tata, Delta, Ola Mobility, Ather Energy, and Simple Energy are some of the big names in the electronics and electric vehicle (EV) sectors that have made Hosur and the surrounding districts their home in the past few years.
Along with growing awareness and spiralling petrol prices, the demand for EV is set to increase significantly in the coming years. As per the data, In January 2022, overall high-speed EV two-wheeler registrations rose to 27,563 units as compared to 24,725 units in December 2021. To match the rising demand, manufacturers have to up their capacity, for example Ather Energy recently commissioned its second facility in Hosur to increase its capacity from 1,20,000 units to 4,00,000 units. Ola Electric has set out to build the world’s largest EV facility with an initial annual capacity of two million units. Furthermore, TVS has also decided to invest over 1,100 crores in the area for the new EV plant. If the cards are played right, this belt could further emerge as a global player given the fast adoption of EVs, especially in the two-wheeler segment.

Have an escooter? Please consider wearing a downhill helmet to protect your face
As someone whose relatives have escooters, and someone who has seen a lot of close calls with strangers, I wanna share a little-known bit of advice for anyone who's looking into escooters, or who already has one:
If you're on an escooter, you get the most protection by wearing a downhill or full-face helmet!
DO NOT GO HELMET-LESS!
By 'downhill' or 'full face', I mean the helmets that bmx riders use, or motorcycle riders wear, respectively. It sounds like overkill but here's the thing:
Escooters have a very high center of gravity because you're upright on them, and they have small wheels that don't absorb impact very well. It's super easy to go over your handle bars if you even hit a tiny pothole! According to this study where 212 patients presented to an emergency room, 11.8% of the patients had dental injuries
A lot of these patients presented with facial lacerations and facial fractures. Overall, 44% of patients needed surgery (5.9% needed major surgery and 38.2% needed minor surgery), and 50% needed maxillofacial follow-up
All 212 patients in this study received a head or face injury. 82% of patients didn't wear a helmet
Some more articles explaining dental injuries from escooter use:
Dental injuries on the rise thanks to e-scooter use
New study from U of A professor warns of dangers of scooter usage
In this Korean study, most patients without a helmet suffered some kind of facial trauma
This isn't just a matter of speed, either. If you're not convinced how often people go over the handlebars at lower speeds too, check out the first 25 seconds of this video by Electric Scooter Guide. That's a lot of faceplants at lower speeds! Or if you want a full playlist of people going over their handlebars, I've got you covered. Again see how many of them are faceplants!
And at higher speeds? It's not good. MAJOR TRIGGER WARNING for gore and death: here you will find a graphic picture of someone who was in an escooter accident, they weren't wearing a helmet and they sadly lost their life
I'll link some reddit posts of close calls where the posters were really glad to be wearing downhill/full face helmets, these are either text-only posts, or simple pics of scratched-up helmets: 1 2 3
Most of these accidents don't even involve other people or vehicles! According to this infographic, 80.2% of escooter accidents are 'falls':
So, now what?
If you don't currently have a helmet and are considering getting one, yay! Your first impulse might be to go out and buy a regular bicycle helmet, but remember: a lot of these injuries happen around your jaw and the front of your face! A bicycle helmet doesn't protect that part! When you fall on an escooter, you're likely to fall in ways that are different from a fall on a bike. So consider a downhill helmet (or a full-face, if you wanna channel your inner motorhead)!
Yeah you'll look dorky, but you'll get home in one piece if you get unlucky on the way there 👍
#i was on my way home and saw a THING omg they were so close to hitting their face my heart skipped a beat#if even one person sees this post and remembers it i'll be happy#escooter#escooters#e-scooters#psa#safety#scooters#micromobility#commuting#ninebot#segway#electric scooter#electric scooters#injury ment cw#injury cw

Which electric scooter is the greatest one, do you know? Here are the top 10 electric scooters in India:
Due to the rising cost of fuel, electric scooters have become a viable alternative to petrol scooters. The best electric scooters on the market in India are listed below.
Electric scooters come in a wide range of sizes and designs in India. To help you in your quest, we've compiled a list of the best electric scooters currently on the market in India. E-scooters are included on the list from both established and new businesses. These scooters are not only cost-effective but also environmentally benign because their operating and maintenance costs are lower than those of their ICE counterparts. Additionally, many electric scooters, if not all, now match their fuel-powered equivalents, and you can further lower the cost with government incentives from the federal and state governments, subject to change. Here are the best 10 electric scooter in our opinion:

Maintaining Cost of an Electric Scooter in India
Electric scooters are rapidly gaining popularity as a cost-effective and eco-friendly mode of transportation in India. With rising fuel prices and increasing awareness of environmental conservation, the shift towards electric vehicles (EVs) is more prominent than ever. If you're considering buying an electric scooter or already own one, understanding its maintenance cost is crucial. Let's explore what makes electric scooters a budget-friendly choice and how you can keep them running efficiently without breaking the bank.
Why Electric Scooters Are Cost-Effective
Unlike traditional petrol-powered scooters, electric scooters have fewer moving parts, resulting in lower maintenance requirements. Additionally, they don't require regular oil changes or extensive engine servicing, significantly reducing recurring expenses. This makes them an attractive option for cost-conscious consumers.
Looking for a reliable EV showroom in Hosur? Visit Sri Sakthi Motors, your trusted dealer for electric scooters.
Key Maintenance Costs of Electric Scooters
1. Battery Maintenance and Replacement
The battery is the heart of an electric scooter. Proper care can ensure it lasts for years, but eventual replacement is inevitable. Lithium-ion batteries typically last 3-5 years and cost between ₹20,000-₹50,000, depending on the model. Regular charging using the manufacturer-recommended charger can prolong battery life.
2. Tire Replacement
Electric scooters, like any other vehicle, require tire replacements due to wear and tear. A pair of tires may cost around ₹2,000-₹4,000. Checking tire pressure regularly can help maintain optimal performance and extend their lifespan.
3. Brake System Maintenance
Most electric scooters come with regenerative braking systems, which reduce wear and tear on brake pads. However, brake pads still need occasional replacement, costing approximately ₹1,000-₹2,000.
4. Servicing and Software Updates
Periodic servicing ensures your electric scooter operates efficiently. Many manufacturers offer software updates to enhance performance or fix bugs. Servicing costs range from ₹500-₹1,500 per visit.
5. Charger Repairs or Replacement
Over time, the charger may require repairs or replacement. A new charger can cost between ₹3,000-₹6,000. To avoid issues, store the charger in a dry, safe place and handle it with care.
Tips to Minimize Maintenance Costs
Regular Cleaning: Clean your scooter to prevent dust and dirt from affecting its components.
Proper Charging Habits: Avoid overcharging the battery to maintain its health.
Timely Servicing: Schedule periodic check-ups at a trusted EV showroom in Hosur like Sri Sakthi Motors.
Driving Habits: Smooth acceleration and braking reduce wear and tear on the battery and tires.
Electric scooters offer significant savings compared to petrol vehicles, with lower running and maintenance costs. By following simple maintenance practices, you can ensure your electric scooter remains a reliable and economical mode of transport.

Best Electric Scooters for Beginners: What to Look For
Information
Choosing the right electric scooter as a beginner can be exciting but overwhelming, especially with so many options available. To help you make an informed decision, here are the key factors you should consider when buying your first electric scooter.
1. Safety Features
For beginners, safety should always be a priority. Look for scooters equipped with essential features such as anti-lock braking systems (ABS), sturdy frames, and bright LED lights for better visibility. Scooters with larger wheels provide better balance and stability, making them easier to control.
2. Battery Life and Range
Understanding the scooter’s battery life and range is crucial. A good beginner scooter should offer a balance between moderate range (up to 60-80 km per charge) and efficient battery consumption. This way, you won't need to charge frequently, and it will be easier to plan your rides.
3. Ease of Use
A scooter should be easy to operate, with intuitive controls and simple mechanisms for acceleration and braking. Foldability is another plus for beginners, as it makes the scooter easier to store and transport. Lightweight models are often ideal, as they are more manageable for new riders.
4. Speed and Motor Power
While high-speed scooters may sound appealing, beginners should opt for models with moderate speeds (up to 50-55 km/h). A 1000W motor is usually powerful enough to give a smooth ride without being too intimidating for new riders.
5. Affordability and Maintenance
Electric scooters come at various price points, so it’s essential to choose one that fits your budget without compromising on quality. Additionally, consider scooters with low maintenance costs, as you’ll want to avoid hefty repair bills in your early riding days.
Final Thoughts
When searching for the best electric scooter as a beginner, focus on finding a model that balances safety, ease of use, and affordability. Jitendra EV, a leading name in electric vehicles, offers a range of options that cater to beginners and experienced riders alike. Known for producing some of the best EV scooters in the market, they provide a reliable and eco-friendly way to get started on your electric scooter journey.
