season 1 of young royals was an experience + will always hold a special place in my heart. the poster of wilhelm holding the crown vs. holding simon about to kiss. the glare wilhelm gives breaking the fourth wall, the colour palette of the opening titles/graphics. the opening of episode 4 + 6…especially episode 6 with all the plots being connected/the climax of the season. I wish I could rewatch it honestly.

I’m seeing a lot of people…especially yrtwt be upset with people who would like to see wilhelm continue as a royal. I have no issue with wilhelm abdicating in the future/living his life how he wants. It has been repeatedly clear wilhelm desires a “normal life” (or how he envisions a normal life) nor has an interest in being crown prince/future king of sweden since the pilot.

If the show ends with wilhelm no longer being a royal it makes perfect sense. his royal status ends as the series ends…poetic. I don’t necessarily want him to do what her majesty wants. I understand why he feels he has to step into the role for his late brother. I definitely do not want august to feel like he has won because fuck august. after everything, I don’t think I’d be pleased with august getting his way…what kind of message is it to see the main villain of the series receive power?

I think it would also be a revolution to have an lgbt character of high status tho. I like the idea of wilhelm further creating change in his best interest or for the people he loves…specifically simon. I love simon so much. he is such a lovely, beautiful cutie pie. wilhelm never had a chance nor should he want one because simon is perfect. 😍☺️💜

(idk what this is, but I think it’s weird people are hating people over this. I think either outcome is still effective in sending a beautiful hopeful message tbh. I honestly just want them to be a happy couple in the end.)
