Nissan Silvia Autech Version K's MF-T, 1997. Autech's S14 series Silvia was powered by an Autech-tuned SR20DET 2.0 litre engine that produced 244hp. An IHI ball bearing turbo (VN14) was fitted in favour of the Garrett T28 in the standard Silvia, for slightly quicker response and flow. There were firmer shocks and springs, front strut brace, and a rear sway bar for the multi-link suspension.

Reading physical copies of The Queen's Thief series for the first time and realizing that the maps in them are inconsistent???
#the only map i'd really seen before was K's map to P in Thick as Thieves#but now looking at the map from the last story of Moira's Pen I'm like. wait. the empire is opposite in this one.#like according to K's map C and K generally move west in TaT but the other map has them moving east#it's not that big a deal to me bc i had to read the entire series twice to conceptualize where anything was#(bc i spent the whole of The Thief not realizing just how important every nation mentioned was. good move mwt you genuinely fooled me.)#but now that i thought i had it down i am once again thrown off#also the map that's referenced in Moira's Pen shows up in the physical copy of TaT?#the beauty of this series is that I NEVER would have guessed what was up in that story even had i seen the map beforehand#anyway all i wanted was to conceptualize where Roa was & now i'm like spiraling. like is K's map incorrect bc its from an imperial lens#which honestly? yeah absolutely (it makes the peninsula look so small) but also how would the mede empire have#conquered so much land with inaccurate resources even if it is for propaganda's sake#nothing in this series is accidental so i'm like *pepe silvia meme*#anyway this is just me trying to put my thoughts somewhere ignore me my tags are a mess#The Queen's Thief#The Queen's Thief spoilers#like not exactly but since everything is spoilers i'm tagging that just in case#Thick as Thieves#Moira's Pen

#also if you’re like me (insane) and also see edward as left handed the implications of the left hand bleeding #ned little holding his hand out in school as the school teacher switches a cane against it #trying to make him learn a pattern that’s unnatural to him #[in an insane voice] actually the fact that edward’s left hand is his most visible sign of illness is intentional and incredibly meaningful!
@maedhrus helen, don't you dare hide these additions in the tags!
thinking again about the edward little death vision of his father comforting him after a dog bite. thinking about how his left hand is the one bandaged. edward little who once held his hand out to an animal that betrayed the trust he showed it, his wound reopening as once again his empathy is exploited
#the terror#edward little#i feel like the pepe silvia conspiracy meme when it comes to this post (making connections that probably don't exist lmao)#also i am still deeply mentally unwell about dave k's comments on edward's hypothetical death hallucination#(especially after helen and i's discussion on the topic the other day)#it was such an interesting choice to have ned's left hand bear the most outwardly visible signs of damage and illness#ned's left hand is the one on the trigger in the scene where crozier gets taken#contrast that with the left hand of god being the hand that punishes and restrains; that doles out justice#crozier fully trusting that edward will return to retrieve him and goodsir and whoever else can be freed from hickey's clutches#but much like the actual hand that foreshadows it; crozier's metaphorical left hand has been made weak:#injured and ill and slow on the draw; no longer capable of functioning as well as he once had#also! further extrapolating on the hypothetical death hallucination scene:#the furthering of the connection between ned's left hand and his projection of his fear of disappointing his father!#crozier being a subconscious stand-in for simon little; of being a pseudo father figure to him#and ned's own constant failures and misgivings; crozier's disappointment in him each time further driving a wedge between them#despite how hard ned tries to be the kind of lieutenant; the kind of man he knows crozier expects him to be#(that his father would've expected him to be)#i just--- god; the symbolism in this show has driven me insane. like; actually clinically insane#ned little; my beloved jumble of dog-coded behaviour; daddy issues and left-handed symbolism stuffed into a naval lieutenant's greatcoat

i finished re-reading all of PJO today and i am full of a lot of emotions now :') it's insane how there were very specific moments from the book series i still remembered, 10+ years later, but then there were other moments where i completely forgot and they lay the ground work for the next series and i am looking forward to continuing reading!!
though i'll be honest, i checked out 2 books from the library (one YA, one non-YA adult contemp fiction) and have until 3/23 to read, realistically i should dig into those next (plus i have a book of poems waiting for me at the library that i had put on hold last week and came in today oopsie), but like....... i am itching to keep reading books within the PJO and Heroes of Olympus universe yknow. they've been very fun reads in between work and meetings
i’ve been re-reading all of the percy jackson books, like starting with the original series and i got the sequel series too (heroes of olympus). i read all of PJO when i was in 8th and 9th grade, then kinda stopped after it was done and never really read the sequel series so that’ll be interesting 🤔
ANYWAY i just finished the 4th PJO book and i’m about to crack open the last one…….. and i just wanted to share how funny this looks, this entire shelf on my bookshelf is just mythology retellings at this point huh

My five star reads from this year with reviews that are longer than just a single word woohooooo
Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Fairies - Heather Fawcett - EXCELLENT COSY FANTASY. Emily is an autistic queen, Shadow is best boy, and Wendell is dramatic and flashy and I love him. Read if you like the Howl and Sophie (book version!!) dynamic or scary fairies more in line with the way they're presented in folklore.
The Fifth Season - N. K. Jemisin - CHANGED MY LIFE I THINK ABOUT THIS BOOK AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. I literally don't know how to talk about the actual plot without giving things away but holy shit. just read it it's so good. Please investigate any trigger content that might be in this it has a lot!
Longshadow - Olivia Atwater - COSY REGENCY FANTASY ROMANCE!!! Honestly, any of Olivia Atwater's regency fairytales are super cute.
The Obelisk Gate - N. K. Jemisin - continues from the fifth season! also very good!!
Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands - Heather Fawcett - continues from EWEoF!
A Master of Djinn - P. Djeli Clark - DO ANY OF YOU LIKE BOOK WITH MULTIPLE LADIES WHO ARE SO SO COOL AND ALSO A STEAMPUNK-Y EGYPTIAN SETTING FULL OF DJINNS AND ANGELS AND MAGIC I am frothing at the mouth for more of this world ngl
Spinning Silver - Naomi Novik - MORE SUPER COOL LADIES but they're in medieval eastern europe, all three povs are super great and I like the understated romance
Mexican Gothic - Silvia Moreno-Garcia - Gothic heroines a la Jane Eyre combined with 1950's mexico. an excellent horror that has a surprisingly wholesome and endearing romance within it.
His Majesty's Dragon - Naomi Novik - NAPOLEONIC WARS BUT THERE ARE DRAGONS. This is the first in a series and because there are a fair amount of them the books themselves can seem a little slow paced but I didn't mind it.
A Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking - T. Kingfisher - BREAD WIZARD AND HER GINGERBREAD MAN FAMILIAR SAVE THE FUCKING TOWN. really good look at how children navigate an adult world and the unfair expectations placed on them.
Uprooted - Naomi Novik - GIRL CREATURE AND BOY FAILURE I love the way this book explores people who fit outside the usual mode of learning or educational parameters.
The Warm Hands of Ghosts - Katherine Arden - exploration of a brother and sister's experiences in world war i. The prose and character study in this are incredible.
#books#im not tagging all of them lol#this post is mostly so I can doodle some of the characters from my faves and reblog it to my art blog teehee

Notes :
all links lead to the goodreads page of the book, mostly because i like to look at book cover art ;
list features authors/books that i love (T. Kingfisher, Silvia Moreno-Garcia, Ursula K. Le Guin, the collections from the British Library Tales of the Weird, etc.), but also a few that i don't like and some that i have not yet read ;
if upon seeing that list the first novel you check out is by Stephen King's you have not understood the assignment ;
not all of those are strictly horror stories, some are 100% science fiction (Brian W. Aldiss' Hothouse for instance).
#text#ramblings#plant tag#botanical horror#last time i posted a list of non-fiction books on the topic. time for some variety
