Why take so many film selfies?

1. Selfies are portraiture and portraiture is art.

2. Self recording, self acceptance regarding gender/body issues, and I want my art presence to be inseparable from my queerness.

3. A practical process reason; My film equipment is mostly rescued e-waste that I've repaired, and it needs to be tested. So it is also a selfie of the camera and lens. The test result (image quality) and subject (camera) are neatly* recorded together as an image.

I wish it didn't de-purple my hair so much, but that's on me for not processing them; I like posting these as-developed sometimes, and some of my film and lighting doesn't register purple well.

My previous attempt to test my Ihagee Exakta was a mess, with severely expired film and a faulty shutter.

After further repairs and stuff a much nicer roll of film, I'm very happy with the result.

The very poor condition front element gives a lovely soft focus flare on highlights. Otherwise it's remarkably sharp, the contrast is ok, and the image quality is really lovely.

It's also the first Kodak Tmax I've used, and I really like it.
