about a month ago, I was tagged by @unlimitedgenderworks in an answering chain meme, and I’m now sitting down to answer those questions. :D

1. Relationship status: taken, ended up confessing to my current s/o earlier this April <3 he’s great! (also, this reminded me that I ought to update my pinned post.)

2. Favourite colour: purple, my username was previously “purpleprose4″ in part because of it. I’m happy to report that I still enjoy lavenders, royal purples, and almost any shade in between very much.

3. Song stuck in my head: none currently, but “I See the Light” (from Tangled) kinda wormed its way into my head earlier this morning. the harmonies in that song really are sublime.

4. Last song I listened to: I’m currently listening to stuff on my On Repeat playlist as I type this out, so for this question that’s “SHOCK” by Ayase (from the anime Buddy Daddies). I would heartily recommend anyone to check out the visuals for that OP, followed by the anime itself.

5. Three favourite foods:

Hashbrowns. particularly when they've been mixed with an egg-flour mixture and then fried, but I enjoy the cubed ones just as much. I can eat that stuff like catnip.

any sort of sweet-Oh Henry's, Pocky, tiramisu, mini doughnuts, mochi, etc. I have a significant sweet tooth.

I've also rediscovered just how good burgers and chicken fingers can be, though I'm picky on how they're made. burgers need to have beeg patties with a decent amount of toppings & condiment(s), and I like my chicken well-breaded (basically from Popeye's).

6. Last thing I Googled: setting aside how I just searched "significant other meaning" (to double-check I was using the term correctly), I looked up "x men days of future past" yesterday. there's a new Marvel comic series that was announced, taking place in that dystopian universe and serving as a sort of prequel to it.

it looks interesting enough that I set it aside as a "if the reviews are good" purchase.

7. Dream trip: I'd love to go to Montreal and/or somewhere in France, to immerse myself in French-related culture and put my language skills to the test. otherwise, Italy and Japan are up there for me too.

honestly, though, I'm not very picky about going on trips. anything observable that's out of my usual norms is automatically very, very fascinating to me. even if I were to stay in a hotel near me and then look around that area, I'd still gain enjoyment out of it.

8. Anything I want: there's way too much stuff that I really want, so I'll answer this one three-fold:

Hello! Can I request Hektor in third ascension with the bi flag? (Unless another ascension is easier)

I've always loved how nomatter your ingame gender he tells you he loves you in both his bond 5 line and his valentines XD

... Apparently I really need to check out some of Hektor's lines.

As for the flag, the best one I can get out of any of his stage 1-3 ascensions, frankly, looks bad. I've been able to get a better-looking one out of his stage 4 art, so this is what I'm going to end up using now. However, I'm just giving a heads-up that it might be pushed back a bit in the queue since I'll have to properly make him transparent from that art by myself.

2 Anything that you'd like to write but feel like you're unable to?

Oh definitely. Right now, I particularly would like to write another fic in the same vein as “Glory Gained” and as a sort of sequel to it that deals with Andromache in Elysium, reuniting with everyone and processing things. But damn. There’s just so many very heavy things in her story that are so hard to reckon with. To do it proper justice, I would deal a lot with what happens to her after the war, including at the hand of Neoptolemus, which is honestly just not something I’m sure I can manage. I want to start by feeling things out with notes and careful planning and see where it takes me. That fic, if it ever comes, will be a long way off.

10 Top three favorite fic tropes

This one’s hard tbh. I like reading traditional tropes but I don’t feel like I write with them very often? Also I feel like I don’t quite know what counts as a trope lol, like are aus that ignore canon character death a trope, because if they are, that’s probably my top one. Again, not sure it’s a trope, but I like writing domestic fluff (especially hair combing!!!!) OH also literal sleeping together, absolutely love that c:

Hektor’s breath wavers at the loving warmth of having his wife and son beside him, safe and happy. “Are you two having fun?” Andromache inquires, leaning forward to gaze at Scamandrius. “Of course we are,” Hektor asserts. “Isn’t that right Scamandrius?” He squirms around, waving his arms up, calling, “Maa mamamaa!” Hektor hoists him up in his arms where he can grab a hold of Andromache’s hand and she can pet his curls. After a brief moment he twists again, and Hektor’s hair proves a fleeting distraction until he reaches for his toys again as Hektor sets him back in his lap. “We’re playing with the great king bear today, he’s trying to get to the top of the mountain. And it looks like he finally made it past the lion.” The figurine lies discarded now. Scamandrius bunches up the fabric of Hektor's tunic and Hektor peers down. “What do you think, hmm?” he croons to him. “Will he make it to the top?” Scamandrius shrieks and waves his fist clutching the wooden bear determinedly.

oh they genuinely help me too that's why I keep scheduling them. another thing that's really helped me keep a grip on time especially during quarantine is to have a paper agenda open on my desk at all times and writing down not just appointments but also things i have to do and things i've done even if its small stuff like 'vacuumed' 'walked the dog' 'fucked around in a video game' so i can physically see the days filling themselves instead of everything fading away in a continuous blur

Gods I love the drawings you do with the flowers bursting forth from arms and necks. I dont know who it is even but just the concept drives me mad. Just stems and vines on the inside bursting forth from the skin, the cloying scent choking you as you breath, coughing out bloody petals and leaves. Does it hurt to sprout forth such beauty? So strange yet familiar, everyone loves flowers right? Roses, daisies morning glories carnations what would you like to see? Ripping the skin, tearing and bleeding on the stems as the blooms pour forth, do they feel different inside? sharp stems, thorns like barbed wire, snaking vines curling around your veins and muscles. Scratching and clawing as new bulbs form and sprout, hope the next one doesn’t take root in your lungs as you choke, is it from love and if so how much and for what, or is it you, just you holding the beautiful bouquet as you bleed on the inside?
