KINDA A PART TWO TO THE COMIC IN MY LAST POST!!! (here it is! it’s also got their references and more info about this au!!)
I think it’d be funny if these two are constantly trying to run into Yuma again to ask about. everything (how the hell he got into Kanai Ward and etc.) but it’s almost like a scooby doo chase where he’s just out of reach every time LMFAO
also I feel like shuichi would unintentionally take notice of Kiibo and Yuma sounding similar just for the sillies (same English VA, but I do have a lore reason. that I won’t spill. SPOILIES)

there is so much extra hilarious dialogue in DRV3 if you select the other characters in the room before the one that moves the story forward in each scene, and I almost never see videos or let's plays that show it, and I so wish there was like, a compilation of all that optional interaction
during the insect meet-and-greet if you select Tenko, Kokichi points out a big bug on her back and she flips out, then Shuichi swats it off of her and then she gets angry for him touching her
I live for all the silly filler dialogue in these games, check it out if you can

DRV3 CHP5 DEADLY LIFE NOTES:
Yo spoilers are ahead watch out, play the full game and THENNN come back to my blog! ;D
Tumblr media
Tenmiko for the soul while you scroll :)
Okay, the people who haven't played should be gone by now, awesome!!! :D
--- WHO DIED?!
WHO IS IT, KOKICHI OR KAITO?!?!?!??! HELP??? IS IT JUNKO AGAIN? DOES SHE GO "Yo bitches and bitchess-es I'm back for the THIRD time, recognise that death scene? Yeah that was me hos, I'm back!"
That'd be hilarious tbh.
(Little did I know that after the chapter finished there would be a cutscene with Junko Enoshima)
--- The Courtroom...
So you guys know how much I hate THH right...? They themed the trial ground as the THH one...
I'm gonna cry I DESPISE THH AUGHHHH
--- Oh!
what the hell why is there an exisal with kaito and kokichi here?!
Wait so Kaito is dead?
Wtf is going on guys help-
"OHHH MAN! I totally dug my own grave again! I give up." <- Shortest trial in Danganronpa history.
Tbh all this dialouge is very... UN-Kokichi like...
Why is the exisal bipolar
"Now, Maki-Roll, don't you believe me?" <- IF IT'S KOKICHI OH MY GOD-
The low quality THH background is pissing me off, I want the V3 one back-
--- PSYCHE TAXI RAHRAHAAA:
Me when Psyche Taxi:
AJAJASNDJWQDHUKEJNSC I LOVEEEE PSYCHE TAXIIIIIII!!! It's so fun and silly!!!
--- They think they're THE SURVIVORS:
How the cast of V3 feel after saying "Hope!" "Despair!" "Battle" "Remnant" or "Junko Enoshima!"
Tumblr media
--- BAWLING:
"Don't worry about me Maki Roll... just... run... run... and live! You gotta live!" We be bawling.
--- Me being dumb:
How I feel choosing "blood-tipped arrows" as an answer to the question of: "If Kaito's cause of death wasn't the arrows, what could it have been?":
Tumblr media
Himiko losing her shit that Kokichi isn't the Mastermind is so funny to me.
BUT this further proves my theory... of... Tsumugi Shirogane. It's her.
It's so weird talking about Miu, she only died last chapter... she's still relevant which is great, but I'm not used to talking about her in past-tense like that yet.
--- ANGSTYYY:
Okay I got distracted and forgot to type stuff...
AUGH THE ANGST, KAITO WANTS THEM TO KEEP SMILING NO THIS IS SO SAD 2RU3RQRFKDJLWEMFRHU9J *crying*
And like... EUGHHHHHH KOKICHI DIED TOO!
:,)
--- Afterward:
I'm up to CHP6 now and I'm confused, there was no "daily life" so I can't finish my ftes with smoogs and unlock my skill >:(
My Kaimaki soul is hurting...

keeping track of things that thh and sdr2 has to try and predict things for drv3 (i have no intentions of playing drv3 anytime soon)
protagonist with an idiot antenna (makoto, hajime)
fucking annoying ass guy who messes around with the trials for some deranged reason and also has some kind of weird fucked up backstory that involves their access to power/wealth (byakuya, nagito) (also spoiled a bit for me bc ive seen enough of that lil purple fucker to know roughly what he's like)
at least one (1) female character who is actively trying to help solve the case/resolve the trial (kyoko, chiaki)
a character that smells (toko, hiyoko)
a very sweet background romance where one character tragically dies (aoi/sakura, sonia/gundham)
a guy that's Shaped (hifumi, hiro, twogami, teruteru i guess :/)
a trial that has more than one person dying (yea)
one female character who's defined by a lot of trauma and then disrespected by sexual gimmicks and weird personality quirks (toko, mikan)
someone who is ripped as fuckk (sakura, nidai)
monokuma doing something silly and blowing up
one goofy character that survives. like how the hell did you make it? (yasuhiro, souda)
a big Reveal about their pasts (oooh)
amnesia (specifically about the tragedy + their high school years)
junko (junko)

ooh okay now I'm curious: what don't you like about v3's ending?
Hhh I hope you won't regret asking this, because I am going to rant a looot about it XDD
SPOILERS for ALL danganronpa main games (also, long rant ahead)
The first thing that I want to say is that it makes me cringe. It makes me cringe so hard when the in-universe characters talk about the previous games and literally say danganronpa. It's too meta for my liking.
Additionally, it feels mean spirited to the player. Sorry, I can't get to the moral high ground here, I just don't like getting lectured for the things I like by the things I like. It's a bit hypocritical too, no? You were the one who made the murder mystery game, not me!
---
Having gotten those two points out of the way, it feels really silly as a reveal in comparison to the previous two games' reveals. The first one basically said that the world as the characters knew it had ended, and the second one not only said that, but it also revealed that they were the ones responsible.
In comparison, DRV3 has a very bizarre (also overused, also juvenile) "we live in a society" kind of reveal. "Ooooh look how uncaring all these people are!"
(also, seriously? who could watch 53 of these killing games without getting bored? that number is ridiculous)
It certainly tries to give it more of a punch with the inclusion of the characters' audition tapes (seeing that they signed up to be psychologically tortured and literally murdered on live TV) in an attempt to make it more like DR2 instead of just DR1, however that aspect is brushed aside in favour of dealing with the bigger issue (the actual murder show). It's so incredibly cartoony and weird, and not in a good way. Maybe if it were some kind of underground, dark web type of deal there would be a better flavour to it.
Also, there were sooo many red herrings in the previous chapters, instead of a slow buildup of the reveal. For comparison's sake:
In 2-2 the characters learn that they've lost their school memories, and, after that, Monokuma starts talking about the world ending on multiple occasions. In 2-3 we read a document about a reserve course that exists at hope's peak. We also learn about protests that were carried out by said reserve course. Then in 2-4 we get the payoff that Hajime is in the reserve course. Finally, in 2-6 we learn that all the people of this game were the instigators of the apocalipse. Hajime's personal struggle is only a small part of the bigger reveal, but it also supports the bigger narrative: the fact that Hope's Peak is an incredibly corrupt organisation that treats people as expendable labrats, and how that led to the protests, and how that helped Junko escalate the situation in a massive way.
Meanwhile, in V3 we get some flashbacks of Suichi talking with a random young kid, him talking with some classmates, him being chased by a mob of people. Then there's a whole thing about getting to the exit through the tunnel and hope's peak building a sanctuary for the last remains of humanity?? And let's not forget Kaede's sister, for whatever reason. I'll admit that I don't remember all the details of V3 because it's been a while since I played it, but all these events are so disjointed and random. There's just so many things shown that in the end don't have anything to do with the reveal (apart from showing how stupid the whole organisation running these killing games is).
Another thing to mention, is the existence of the nanokumas. The creators must have really liked the fact that Monokuma could see everything all the time in DR2, because they had to somehow make that work outside of a digital context in V3. I hate the nanokumas. They are so incredibly dumb as a concept.
And after all is said and done, the game has the gall to say "but who knows what the actual truth is"
Neither of the previous games had such an unecessary open-endedness to them. But ig I have to admit that, specifically with DR1's ending, there is a bias of certainty because we got multiple sequels that confirm what the truth is (although I still believe that it didn't really leave much room for debate).
Both games had a feeling of "and the story continues" but not a "wait, what was the truth after all?", if that makes sense.
---
Now, about Tsumugi specifically. It's really really dumb that she was made out out to be a big bad evil mastermind, when she's just a showrunner. She's got 0 actual power. Nothing like Junko or even Izuru. They were the instigators. Tsumugi is a small cog in a machine.
Idk if I've said this before, but I'd like her a lot better as a mastermind if she'd been some rich spoiled girl who's obsessed with the danganronpa franchise and ends up kidnapping a bunch of her classmates and brainwashes them in order to make her own real-life killing game. That to me, specifically for Tsumugi's character, would be 1000x or even 1000000x more compelling than her canon motivations and role. This way, you can even keep the meta-narrative of the previous games being fictional in the V3 universe, but can completely remove the entire world being in on the joke. AND it would make her more interesting because she'd be so passionate about this game that she's literally willing to die for it!
---
In conclusion: there's probably things I can't remember right now, but these are the main points that come to mind off the top of my head.
Don't get me wrong, I had a lot of fun playing it until the trial of chapter 5. It became too confusing and convoluted for me after that point. But before that, I liked seeing most of the character interactions.
I do feel bitter that Kaede was killed in the first chapter (it'd be a lot more interesting if Suichi had died and Kaede had then had to learn how to take on his role, there could even be a lesson that one does not need to keep themselves within the confines of their assigned ultimate talent), but it's not like the whole game suffers from this one decision.
I especially liked the interactions between Suichi, Maki, and Kaito during their nightly meetups. Such small moments of bonding time is something that was missing from the previous two games.

Hiya!
I saw your DRV3 boys taking care of you when you’re sick post and it was so cute!
I was wondering if you’d be willing to do the same for the DRV3 ladies?
Thanks in advance! ☺️☺️
Sure I can!! Ty for giving me this opportnity hehe. excuse any typos, i'm sick myself funnily enough. Oh and this is in a basic non-despair AU!
Danganronpa Headcanons: V3 Girls Taking Care of You!
(I'm not comfortable listing Miu, Tsumugi, or Angie)
Kaede:
She's best at keeping you company. Great at cheering you up and making you feel comfortable.
Entertains your silly tired ramblings that don't make any sense. Acts interested for fun, like, "Yeah? What happened next?" If you make a joke that makes no sense, she'll pretend to get it to make you feel good.
She might play her playlist of relaxing piano music to help you fall asleep!
She night even quietly tell you all about each song that plays, just as some background noise while you slowly drift off to sleep.
Kirumi:
Best at holding you accountable for things like overworking yourself or trying to do extraneous work while you aren't feeling well.
Makes sure you're resting and all your needs are met. Takes great care of you.
Doesn't let you leave bed or even sit up for too long until you're fully recovered. She'll ensure that you won't have to do anything at all, doing everything for you and treating you like the most delicate person in the whole world.
Himiko:
Cooks you warm, delicious meals that you can stomach. They make you feel warm and fuzzy and safe.
Probably the person who'll have you recovered the fastest.
Performs magic tricks for you to keep you entertained!
Once you've recovered, she'll probably say something like, "It was me, I cured you with my maaagic!" You can just say, "Sure you did, Himiko..."
While you're slightly delirious and loopy, you might not understand how some of her tricks work, and you might even believe that she really is magical. You'd be genuinely bewildered, and Himiko would be the happiest girl in the world.
It'll be really hard for her not to call everything she does for you a pain. She genuinely csres about you and she's glad she can help you, but it's just a habit she has.
Will probably snuggle up with you while you nap and nap with you as well!! Makes you feel warm and cozy next to her, she's like your personal sleepy kitten.
Maki:
Tenko:
Is pretty serious about your physical condition, and doesn't take any risks in regards to your health. Protective of you and makes sure you rest without a fuss.
She genuinely won't know what to do with your silly, delirious ramblings. She'd just be kind of dumbfounded, wondering how you could get any more stupid. But, like, in an affectionate way!
Secretly thinks you look adorable when youre sick and sleepy, cheeks and nose dusted red and sleepy eyes all squinty like a kitten's.
(This is only for girls or other femmes, as Tenko wouldn't even show up if a "degenerate male" asked for her help :/)
Is quite protective of you.
Wants you out of bed and back on your feet as soon as you're strong enough to do so, because she says that a little light exercise can do wonders for your health! She'll help you go on a lil walk :)
She's very encouraging! If you're ever frustrated by how little you can do in your state, she'll make sure you know that you deserve all the rest abd breaks you're getting.
Kinda obsesses over how cute you look when you're sick and sleepy. Adoringly commenting on every tiny sneeze or yawn that comes out of you, not being able to stand how incredibly adorable you are.

Honestly I think people's tendency to do this sort of all or nothing thinking is silly. I've yet to write things down concisely but since finishing the game I like playing around in the sense where I pick one or several flashback lights (or other 'facts' mentioned in the game) to be true and see how that affects the pre and post V3 story. This in turn really gives you more playroom to interpret and understand certain aspects of the story and characters. Sorry, I'm not sure how to word it. Like yeah, what if Makoto really did make a new Academy? What if the world didn't end, but the virus is fact? What if V3 was fictional, but that doesn't mean the 'peaceful outside world' we were presented is real? Not only does that make fandom play more enjoyable, it also makes you really think about things beyond taking things at face value like I've sadly seen many fans do.
To disclaimer a bit that I have no qualm with people taking the 'All-Fiction' reading at its face if they like the pregame concept (I've seen some fun ideas like the meek Kokichi who wanted to become a good liar, that's a favourite I've seen anyway) or like, whatever other reason. It's just- yeah!! It's absolutely not the only possibility for canon nor is it particularly satisfying to those of us who want to play with canon context as opposed to like, imagined character-to-character progression to the canon, even if those can make for great stories on their own
*cue me going off in 3... 2... 1...*
And speaking of affecting pre and post V3, the dire consequences probable for any/all of the pre chapter 5 Flashback Lights being true- the mixed-motive videos involving characters, especially- knowing that dr2 used a distorted past as a motive, is just too juicy to pass up?? Especially if that involves characters who were otherwise trusted acting in untrustworthy ways, and this is gleaned in hindsight? Imagine if there was later content - a novel perhaps - to expand upon the world we dismissed as fiction and little by little we have to reckon with the consequences if we search it out, like how Dr0 told us of how the Tragedy came to be?? And DRV3 will never look the same again?? Especially if all this was gradually steamrollered by an unsuspecting Makoto opening up new hopes peak and that started to go spectacularly awry not least due to the collective tensions against Ultimates and-
-Just. FRICK!! The possibilities enough to drive one crazy
At least the hindsight part is how it's most meaningful for me, imagining the world itself - beyond the dystopian security tech Nanokumas, wwoah geez a lot to unpack - is so much harder to do, and can get extremely messy (probably because I'm at an overload with all the information-misinformation combo buuut also because of conspiracy themes nonsense) so like, a lot of work to do there.
...Oh! This reminds me of how Dr:Togami is apparently layered in this kind of cerebral shit that makes you think outside the box as to what the fresh hell is going on and pick apart false narratives, so all of these potential alternate if-not-x-then-y sorta threads you mentioned here, could be pulled together just like that! (I hope I'm understanding right- I need to actually READ DR:Togami but uh.)

Hello again! I'm the person who asked about that line form Island Mode said by Kazuichi. So i guess the translation was right after all! Your explanation makes sense, I've read somewhere that in japanese he uses a particular way of speaking that's typical of 'cool teenage boys', and that it's one of those nuances that's a bit hard to translate to other languages. Apparently, it's the same for a lot of other Danganronpa characters way of speaking as well.
The 'Dating Sim' modes have a lot of silly stuff ^^ Like, for example, both Leon and Mondo complain that they don't know how you're suppossed to eat a hamburguer without making a mess, I've seen some funny fanart of that xD (if you're curious there are some compilation videos on youtube, so you don't have to play the whole game, and the wikis as well)
Hajime doesn't exactly say 'let's burn the books', that's true ^^;; (I probably should have just copy pasted the real dialog form the wiki), but you can make him and the other protags say some WEIRD things, I like to imagine that after saying things that are out of character like that they just stand there blinking for a couple of seconds and then go 'huhhhh???? why did I say that????' and the other character just says 'you're asking ME???' xD
Thank you for such a long and detailed answer, your english is really good! I want to learn japanese myself but it's quite difficult ^^;; , but seeing people like you who speak japanese and english inspires me and makes me want to keep trying ^^ that's why I enjoy reading your posts =)
Exactly, including Kazuichi, many of the characters in Danganronpa speak in a way that is typical of teenagers or in a more unique way, so I think it's quite difficult to translate them! X(
OMG, I didn't know Leon and Mondo had such silly stories, how cute and typical of a teenager! ehehe XD Actually, I love the Dating Sim mode and have seen all the endings in Island Mode in DR2 and Dangan Salmon Team in DRV3. Since there is no completion list for Island Mode, I don't have any records of completing it, but everyone has reached level 9 in Gathering and Cleaning to get more than half of the levels to 9.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for Dangan Salmon Team:
Tumblr media
But I have not played School Mode yet! 😭 The reason is that I played DR:THH on the original PSP version, and School Mode didn't exist at that time. Now I have the Nintendo Switch and iPad versions of DR:THH, which have School Mode, but I thought that if I were to replay it, I would like to play the English and Japanese versions at the same time, but I haven't had time to do that yet. So you told me how to see the dialog online, but I'll save it for when I actually get around to playing it. But now that you've told me about Leon and Mondo, I'm really looking forward to playing it, so I think I'll finally do it next month! ✨
RIGHT, making the protagonists say weird things is one of the great joys of the Dating Sim modes! 😆😆 It's pretty crazy that when Hajime goes to the beach, he can suggest "Let's take our clothes off" to anyone. hehe And it's so funny and cute how the protagonists have regrets after saying those things to someone. 😄
I'm very happy to hear that my posts have motivated you to learn Japanese! Actually, my English skills are not very good, using some AI grammar checkers is essential, and my listening and speaking skills are low. (I'm not being modest. I have taken some online English lessons, but even then my evaluation was at the lower end of intermediate level). Still, I enjoy communicating in English, so even if people don't have wonderful Japanese skills and have to rely on machine translation, I hope they feel free to try using Japanese. It's still a fun experience to try using a language other than your native language and communicate with someone far away. Language is a great reflection of culture, so it's also interesting to learn about the cultural background. Annnd it's even more interesting when it's related to the background of your favorite characters! XD So if you learn something about Japanese, you can try sending it to me 😉 (This is not just for the anon who sent this question, but for everyone!) Thank you so much for always reading my posts! (*,,˃ ᵕ ˂ )・.。*

So. A couple of things. Nothing insane just, been thinking. And feeling kind of down, about a loss of a fixation, loss of interest, ectect.
I saw a meta analysis of Kokichi posted on my dash, and I read it... and felt nothing. I agreed with some points, disagreed with others, but I didn't feel anything regarding the character or DRv3 as a whole. Not about Kokichi, not about anything. I've just, fully lost interest.
I never even finished playing DRS. I just, lost complete interest in it. I don't even really have any desire to replay V3 to "reignite the spark' so to speak. I just feel kind of... indifferent.
And sometimes, I wonder how long I've truly felt this way. How long I was lying to myself in suggesting I was interested still, or something akin to that.
And it's really sad, to feel nothing over something that used to bring you such comfort or joy. To feel nothing over a game I made some incredible friends with. Like Even for Undertale and NiGHTS I still have mild interest in these games. I could easily pick up Undertale and replay it if I wanted to. Same for NiGHTS.
But for V3... I don't know. I have the physical ability to, but I just don't want to. As if something about it feels just... plain exhausting about it. Like I got burnt out or burned by it and I'm not even sure by what or how. It wasn't working on fanfics or fanart, because the character I made in Kokichi is still a character I feel attached to and love dearly. I'm probably going to draw him up a design at some point, even. My specific interpretation of Kokichi isn't going away, just, evolving into something new.
So, is it just a burnout from how long I was hyperfocused on the game? The huge amount of meta Analysis I did that made me watch the game over and over again? Nothing outrageous that I can remember like, happened to me specifically that burned me, yet I still feel like I was burned. I really can't tell you why.
Still, it's sad to see a hyperfixation go, regardless of the reason. Especially one that lasted for so much longer than most others. It's kind of a scary thing to admit to as well--that I've just, moved on to something new.
And that's kind of life for you, isn't it? Life moves on. New things fade in as old ones fade out.
Maybe one day I'll come back to DRv3 with less of a tired mind, but maybe not. Maybe this is how I always feel about moving on from a past fixation/when I'm in denial about it.
I guess the saddest part is that it leaves a hole in my chest too. It's not like I want this. I want to be interested! I want to find that spark that made me love the series! But it just feels... gone.
Idk. I just feel pretty sad overall tonight so I'm probably over thinking things.
But I'm still sad, never the less. Like watching your friend walk on a train, knowing that it's the last time you'll see them. It feels like parting ways.
I guess this sounds silly but. It's 4 in the morning. So.
