JJK Chapter 65. The backstory is starting it seems. Only a few pages in so let's do some more predictions.
#sill reads jujutsu kaisen#okay all I got so far was Gojo being like wah why to we have to care about the non magic people#so I would assume Gojo was somewhat powerhungry as a teen?#anyways I do love how Geto has a smaller forhead in the young version#idk thats funny#I still couldn't do any informed prediction about the tragic backstory tm#if I had to gueess off of tropes Id say...#a family burden of some kind#hes been told one specific thing over and over but then finds out his lifes been a lie?#hhh#yeah no I still got nothing#usually Im better at predictions#I am assuming that the scar thing he has is connected with Mahito in some way#in what way?#uhm#he summoned him?#somehow?#and now there is some weird binding between them#idk#and the whole summoning happened for the “kill everyone plan”

#sill reads: jujutsu kaisen#in summery#geto toom of his scull to reveal a brain with a mouth#reveal this is getos body but not him#he died last year#I am...#very confused by what is happening#i did have to close the book laughing when we got to see the brain#bc this whole time everytime I saw that scar I imagined it opening like a muppet mouth to talk#and that brain panel was close enough to that idea#also did vol 0 show Gojo murdering Geto?#because if so how the fuck did I miss that?#anyways#what is happening#what is this brain#what is it not#is geto for real dead dead or is his sould vibing some where#if he is dead dead why do Geto and Not Geto act and behave the same way

JJK Chapter 79: okay this arc sucks. The fact that there wasn't even a narrative transition/justification for why we are doing backstory time should have been sign enough I wouldn't like this.
#sill reads: jujutsu kaisen#its not evem just geto#but like the notes on megumis dad say#that his wife brought out the softer side if him and then afterwards he became what he was#and thats great and all#but like#it wasn't shown that much#this whole thing just felt very rushed?#gojos arc here was fine for the most part#so at least that#I dont hate any of the plot points in principal#a lot of them are really good in concept#maybe its a me problem but it just didn't work for me

Currently reading jjk and I think the problem of why I can't really get into it is bc I can't relate to teens, or I at least can't get invested in their stories. I have nothing against Yuji and co. I like and for some really love them. But I'm always more engaged when the story focuses on the adults? Idk. This isn't meant as criticism, it very much just a me thing.

JJK: for the next volumes I will need a new designated blorbo to focus on, as Not-Geto doesn't cut it anymore. Gojo's cool but not quite it, and Kento gives the vibes of a man who will be killed off in a later arc (I'm honestly surprised he didn't die on his first fight with Mahito). Which only leaves Megumi, so congrats kid!

JJK Chapter 77: I am... Confused?
#sill reads: jujutsu kaisen#so its getos backstory#or at least the beginnings of it idk how much more in depth itll go later#and like#I get it#but also not at the same time#I can't really explain#I understand the chronological events that led to him idk#going berserk or something#but it felt like they were speed running that evil character development#on an emotional level it happened too quickly for me to fully adjust to and therefore comprehend#or something#also#so when Gojo was shut right#my intial theory was#does geto do some weird black magi shit to bring him back#and that leads him further down his corruption path#which is not what happened obviously#But that sound like a cool fanfic au

Finished jjk vol 7 and will get the next few volumes from a friend soon. Apparently it goes into Gojo's backstory there so I'm sure that will be interesting to see.
