It’s been a few weeks since you’ve been living with Stacy and her husband, Jared.
It’s been pretty good, they’ve been kind to you, you been helping around as much as you could, and they’ve been doing a lot to make sure you’re okay and willing to help you with anything.
Jared has been fairly nice and generous. Today is your first check up at the hospital and ultrasound. Jared offered to take you to your appointment, which you accepted since your car battery decided to take a crap right as you returned home from the store the other day, so now you have to wait for it to arrive at the mechanics before you get take it over to get fixed. This leaves you with no independent transportation for at least a week. Luckily Stacy had been able to take you to and from work but today she wasn’t able to take you to your check up due to having to work late. Thankfully, Jared offered to take you to the doctors, to which you gratefully accepted.
On the way there you started some small talk with him. “How long have you and Stacy been together?” You ask him as you watch the trees pass by along with building around the area as he enters the highway.
Jared looks at you for a quick second before focusing back on the road. “Been together for about four years now. Two years since we’ve been married.” He says with a small smile, you’ve seen all the things they’ve done together, so many adventures, dinners, vacations, you would’ve thought they’ve been together for more than that if he hadn’t said anything.
You realize that Stacy seemed to move to marry him pretty quickly, which wasn’t a bad thing, as long as you know that Jared has the best intentions for your sister. It was the same with her last boyfriend, taking any chance she got to up and move in with him at any chance she got.
But you aren’t worried, Jared seems to be a sweetheart, you e seen it over the few weeks you’ve spent here. He always engaged and doing anything around the house he can do. He and Stacy worked like a team. You also saw the way he looked at Stacy like the held all the stars in the sky. You wouldn’t admit it out loud but, you were jealous.
“We’ve been best friends since high school. Of course, she ended up with her boyfriend before I could confess my feelings to her. long story short he tried to have her cut contact with me but with a lot of persuasion she ended up leaving him and we got together in collage shortly after I beat the shit out of him." he chuckled seeming to be a bit ashamed at admitting it, but he wasn’t sorry though.
That took you by surprise, you never expected him be a guy to use violence just by looking at him. He seemed more like a lover than a fighter. Reguardless, you’re glad he stepped in, in any way, just to get that prick away from your sister. "Well, I'm glad Stacy has you. I remember seeing that guy before she moved out and he never gave me a good feeling." You say as the car gets off the freeway on the road that leads stright to the hospital. You can see the street changing to one of a more fancy and modernized road with trees every few feet, fancy black fencing, and lighting.
Jared smiled at you, noticing that your compliment took him by surprise. "Thanks." he says and focusing on driving, a small pause of silence between you two before he speaks up. "If you don't mind me asking, your sister told me a bit about the history between you two and how life was growing up but, how did you meet that guy?" He asks, you feel yourself start to think back on the memories between you and Simon, it was bittersweet and made the strings in your heart tug. "You don't have to tell me; I respect your privacy." Jared is quick to say noticing your face drop a bit.
You shook your head and wave your hand in a unbothered manner. “No, no. It’s alright. I don’t mind.” You say as you look at ahead of you towards the road. “I met him in my freshman year of high school, Simon was a sophomore. I first saw in when he got into a fight, but I didn’t talk to him until a week later when I was put into detention.”
✯Flashback✯
You were making your way to your fourth period, walking through the schools' hallway past others students walking trying to get to their next class. As you're about to turn the corner down the hall, you hear a sudden grunt before a loud metallic bang echos through the hall. A few feet away from you, you see everyone looking in one certain area from the origin of the sound hearing continuos grunts and chatter form other students looking intrigued, shocked and also unbothered with what they saw. You make your way towards the crowd getting a sense of what could be happening which was soon confirmed to be true when you manage to look between the gaps of the crowd to see two guys duke it out. The guy pinned against the locker getting multiple shots of fists to the face you recognized him as Todd Hanes. The renowned senior asshole in school. He always picked and tormented other kids younger, or others who seemed weaker than him.
The other guy punching him had his back turned to you, he had short blonde hair and wore a grey t-shirt that really defined his muscles well. You can see he worked out a lot with the way his bicep flexed as he pinned Todd against the locker. You moved closer to get more of a clear view of the fight and watched as the blonde guy raised his fist and socked Todd square in the face, repeating the action over and over again as your peers around you watching the fight. Todd tried to fight back but to no avail with the fists he received to his face. The students around cheered or reacted verbally to the fight as you heard "ooo's' and a few other words being said as they all watched Todd practically get beaten to a pulp which was much deserved. Todd looked pathetic trying to fight back and ended up shielding his face ultimately giving up on fight back.
it wasn't long before a teacher stepped in and tried to pull the blonde off Todd, whos' face was now battered with his own blood, nosebleed and busted lip dripping blood down his shirt. it took two teachers to pull the blonde off Todd and once they did Todd slid down the locker down to the floor barely conscious and seemingly dazed and confused as everyone stared in shock. You finally got to see the blonde guy's face and immediately, you felt your stomach flutter. He was downright breath taking, his brown eyes look like there was a raging fire in him, he heaved heavy breaths as he stared down Todd, whos' face was all swollen, battered and bloody. Meanwhile he only had a bloody nose.
As weird as it was but looking at him like that really awoken something in you and had your brain go fuzzy with just the image of him. As he was pulled away to what you assume was to the principal's office you watch as the teachers helped walk Todd to the nurse's office supporting him up and walking him over.
After that, you didn’t see the blonde guy. However when you asked your friend about him, they told you his name was Simon, she knew since she had a class with him. But it wasn’t long until you saw him again.
You had gotten Lunch detention for two days, you had gotten the note during you second period after you showed up to your first period late for the hundreth time. You sighed in annoyance and crumble up the paper dreading for your upcoming punishment.
When finalllylunch came by you made you way to the library where lunch detention was being held, where you had to sit there in silence for 15 minutes. Walking through the doors you look around and see how surprisingly full it was, all of the round tables had a few students sitting in every single one of them, all except for the one table in the far corner back. Where you spot Simon sitting at, your heart did a back flip at the sight of his blonde hair that peaked through the hood of his sweater. Seeing that he was the only table with less students, and it would be reasonable to sit at his table instead of the other full ones, you began contemplate on wether you wanted to sit at his table or the table next to him where a group of boys sat, you hardly judged anyone but these guys just by the looks of them seemed to be ones to torment girls just for fun, so the easier option was to sit with Simon.
It was nerve wracking walking into the library seeing so many students in the room, you expected there to be only five but there was almost twenty in here, you feared one little noise could cause everyone to turn and stare at you if you so much as breathed the wrong way.
As you walked and approached the table where Simon sat at you began to notice and take in his appearance, his blonde hair was slicked back, a bandage on his nose, from the fight with Todd, and a bruise, it was odd, it looked to be a fresh bruise on his jawline. It had been over a week since the fight, he wouldn’t have a bruise or to the least bit, just have faint bruising. Did he get into another fight?
Your thought were short circuited when his honey brown eyes move up to meet yours, he stared at you through his blonde lashes. You’re surprised and quickly avert your gaze towards the floor ahead of you before you finally reach the table and pull out the chair adjacent where he sat, sitting down trying your best to make the least amount of noise possible. You can feel his eyes linger on you until he moves his arm out to pick up his pencil and focus on the papers on the table that you assumed was his class work.
You try your best to calm your heart that’s currently beating rapidly, it’s absurd how much he’s had an affect on you just by his appearance and a singular glance he gave you. No way you’re this down bad, you thought.
You quietly settle into your seat and set you bag down before opening it up and pulling out your own homework while you steal a few glances at him, an continue to do so as you “work on your homework,” unaware of how obvious you’re being.
At the end of detention the teacher dismisses everyone as you pack away your papers and pencil back into your binder, slipping the binder in your bag your pencil slipped out and falls to the floor rolling a feet away from you. Before you lean down to pick it up, a hand lowers down and grabs the object, you look up and meet Simon’s eyes as he leans back up and extends his arm out to you with your pencil in hand.
You’re dumbfounded for a second, staring at him like a deer in headlights. You manage to mutter out a ‘Thanks’ before reaching your hand out to grab it from him, trying your best to not show how shakey your hand is. As you grab your pencil you try you best to avoid touching his fingers with yours, but you index finger barely grazed his own before you pulled away and slipped your pencil back in your bag.
“Is there something on my face?” He spoke to you, you couldn’t tell if he was genuinely asking you a question or threatening you right now. You’re taken back by how deep and rough his voice sounded, its wasn’t very deep yet but it sounded like his voice was in the process of getting there.
“Sorry…” You say with a puzzled look on your face.
Simon continued to look at you seeming unfazed. “You kept staring at me, did you need something or you just have a staring problem?” He asks, his voice unchanging from his unfazed tone, along with the blank look in his eyes.
You quickly shake your head and try to think of something, then you remembered how you noticed on his backpack he had set on the table. You saw he had a Misfits keychain hanging on the zipper of his bag so you quickly use that as an excuse. “I noticed you had a misfits keychain on your backpack and thougt it was cool-” You blurt out, you words coming out so fast as you grew nervous, Simon almost couldn’t understand what you said at first.
You see him raise a brow at your response as he looks at his bag that was still on the table, then looks back at you and takes in your appearance, his eyes glazing over your body from head to toe. “You listen to the Misfits?” He asks seeming unconvinced by your words.
You figured he may not believe you possiblywith your outfit and appearance, however he shouldn’t be one to judge, all he was wearing today was a black sweater and jeans. You do listen to rock and metal music, you recently got into it thanks to your friend. So luckily for you, you knew some music and information about the Misfits. You nod your head, “Yeah, I’ve been getting into rock music lately and Misfits were one of the first bands I listened to. They’re pretty good.” You say as a small smile makes its way to your face hoping that he’ll believe you were only looking at his neck packs and definitely not checking him out.
Simon seems like he wanted to say more but shook his head. “Alright then.” He says before grabbing his bag, slinging the strap over his shoulder and walking out the library to wherever it was he was going.
You let out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding and take notice of how hot your face felt. Crap, you were blushing. He definitely knows you were checking him out!
After that, you suddenly saw him everywhere, you noticed him in your English class, apparently, he’s been in your class this whole time and you never knew, you saw in the halls between passing periods, and of course you saw him again on your second and last day of lunch detention. There were slightly less kids in the library now which meant a couple of tables were empty. When you first entered you expected to see simon already sitting there but you noticed the lack of his presence, you assumed his days in detention were over which made you a bit disappointed. But at least you still got to see him in English class though. As you took your seat at the same table you pull out your essay you were working on for English class, you were almost done with it, just needed to add any finishing touches. Your essay was about the recent book your class read, Romeo and Juliet. The teacher had the class take a theme or idea of what you thought about what the book would be about and how it could relate to readers universally.
As you worked, you had your head looking down and hyper focused on your paper, too busy to see movement around you and a certain figure approaching your table. It wasn't until you heard a thud against the table that made you jump slightly and look up to see Simon at your table setting his bag down on the table before sitting down across from you, you look around and take notice that there were still a couple of empty tables left for him to sit at but he still opted to sit at the table where you were at, why?
Not wanting to overthink and get ahead of yourself, you thought maybe that because he's been in detention longer than you that maybe this was his designated table that he preferred to sit at. He looks at you as he sits in his chair, you look back down at your paper and tried your best to refocus on your essay but much to your dismay Simon was clouding your mind as your mind went into overdrive with him around, and suddenly you began to struggle to write anything.
As you tried to get the cogs in your head to start functioning again, unbeknownst to you, Simon was looking at you, watching how focused you were seeming to struggle a bit as your brows furrowed and your lips pursed. He takes notice of your paper and from what he can see from his view, he can see the noticeable pictures primted on next to the lettering and recognizes the paper to be the latest assignment in their English class. Writing something about Romeo and Juliet. He wondered if he should ask for your help since he saw how you had two pages done, maybe you can help give him an idea of how the story is since he hardly bothered to read the book and get the assignment done, like with all his other classes.
He debates if he should say something to you but ultimately says 'fuck it' and leans in his forearms leaning on the table to whisper to you with ease and not get caught. "You doin' the assignment for English?" He asks you in a whisper, careful not to get caught talking but the librarian was currently too caught up on whatever work she was getting done on her computer and the soft music she played was loud enough to blanket over his whisper.
you look up at him again and stare at him for a second processing what he's said to you. "Oh yeah, I'm just adding some finishing touches before I submit it." You tell him watching his eyes flicker to you and your paper.
"You think you can help me out a bit on mine? Been having some trouble with it. " He asks you as you set down your pencil seeing that you weren't going to write down anything else for now and focus on talking with Simon.
You look at him a bit taken back on the fact he wants your help. This means you get to talk to him more, perfect! "Yeah, would you be okay if we did this once detentions over? I'm not trying to get caught and have to stay here for longer." You tell him as you sneak a glance at the teacher seeing she's still occupied with her computer.
Simon nods and leans back in his chair. "Yeah, sounds good." he tells you. You try your best to fight back the smile that threatened to break through before you nod and look back at your paper completely not bothered to work with your thought clouded with just Simon.
Once detention was over, Simon gets up while you place your items back into your bag. Once you put everything away you see Simon standing there waiting for you, you zip up your bag and sling it over your shoulder and begin to walk towards the exit of the library, Simon following right beside you. “Were did you want to go?” You ask him as you both walk down the hall.
Simon thinks for a moment before pointing to the hallway to the right. “We can head down to the hallway to the band room.” He said as you look down the hall before nodding your head as you both turn right and make your way through the hallway. You figured that hall would be best to study, there’s hardly anyone in there minus the teachers but some kids go there to be alone, away from everyone else. You assume that’s why Simon wanted to go there.
Once you reached the hallway, you both spot a little lounging area at the end of the hall where the elevator was to go upstairs. Walking up to the table you set your things down and take your seats next to each other but Simon and you still kept a good distance from you. You bring out your papers from your bag, Simon doing the same.
Once you both settle and you look at Simon. “So what exactly did you need help with?” You ask him.
“All of it.” He states nonchalantly. “I haven’t really read the story much, just skimmed through a few chapters so I have a slight idea of what is going on but I don’t know what to write about it.” He tell you and keeps his eyes on the paper avoiding looking at you in case he saw the dissatisfied look in your face, he’s a bit worried you’ll think just he’s asking for your help simply to just copy off you.
“Oh well, you basically just choose a theme in the book and write about how you interpret the idea yourself and how it would make readers feel about it as a ‘universal thought.’ ” You explain to him. “So from the little information you’ve gathered from the book, what do you think one of the themes are?” You ask him.
Simon sighed and thought long and hard about it. “From what I knows is that the two are in a forbidden love story, something about family drama between their families. After the death of the two lovers they the family came together.”
You smile and nod at him, “That’s pretty much what the entire story is about. So write about that.” You tell him as you motion to his paper.
Simon nods and writes down a couple of notes to keep in mind. While he was writing he asked you, “What did you write about?”
You look at him and then at your papers. “It might sound a little silly…” You mumble as you avoid his gaze.
Simon raises a brow. “How so? Either way, I’m not one to judge considering I didn’t bother to read the book all the way.”
You glance at him as you fidget with your pencil. “Well, I focused on reincarnation and how cruel the world can be sometimes. The reincarnation part, I was worried the Mr. Jones would tell me not to include it but he told me to keep it, said it would be interesting since some people do believe in reincarnation.” You explain as you see that Simon seems to have his full attention on you, much to your surprise. “So I wrote about how love isn’t always a fairytale love story, life can be cruel and i believe we’ve lived many lives before our current one, our souls are old and our bodies are a temporary thing. Romeo and Juliet never got their happy ending due to some petty drama between her and Romeo’s families that ultimately caused them their happiness and eventually their lives. But I like to think that, reincarnation is a thing, their lifetime may not have been kind to them but maybe their next will be. They’ll find each other again and get to live the life they deserve.” You explain and as you do, Simon listens to every word, he watches you as you explain watching you ramble on about your thoughts of the matter, he watches the way your eyes dart between looking at him and then around the room, you lips moving with every word. Unbeknownst to you and Simon, he was falling in love with you. "I believe soulmates are a thing, Romeo and Juliet are soulmates and soulmates always find their way back to each other in every lifetime, romantic or not everyone has a soulmate." You explain as you glance over your papers.
"How do you know you've found your soulmate?" Simon asks confused on that part.
You then turn to Simon as you both stare at each other for a period of time. “You ever meet someone and within the seconds of your first interaction you feel an immediate connection with them, like being around them just feels… right?” You ask him.
That question made something switch in Simon in his mind as he looks at you. “Yeah… I think I know what you’re talking about.”
✯Flashback end✯
You arrive at the parking lot as you finish telling Jared how you met Simon, of course a shortened version of your story, just the main things. “But yeah, after that day we started hanging out more and more and eventually we began dating a little before I graduated high school.” You tell him as you Finnish up your story, Jared turns the car into the parking lot quickly finding an empty spot.
“He seems different compared to you. I guess opposites really do attract.” Jared chuckled as he sets the car in park and turns off the car.
“You could say that, I guess.” You say, considering your current situation with Simon.
You step out the car and Jared follows behind you as you both enter the hospital building. “I’ll be in here for a bit. You don’t have to stay, you can do your own thing and I’ll let you know when my appointment is over.” You tell him as you close the car door, Jared doing the same.
He shakes his head as you both make your way to the building. “It’s fine. I don’t mind, besides I figured you need as much support as you need.” Jared says giving you a small smile.
You return one back and nod accepting his offer before you turn to the assistant at the desk. “Hi, I’m here to see Dr. Raven for my check up.” You tell the woman as she nods looking up on her computer to check.
“Prenatal check up for y/n l/n?” She asks you as you confirm it with a nod. “Alright, Dr. Raven is currently still with her patient but she should be done in the next ten minutes. Feel free to sit in the waiting room and she’ll be with you shortly.” The assistant smiled at you as you nod back with a smile.
“Thank you.” You mutter as you head over to the lounging area and sit in a chair seeing other woman in the room, some by themselves, some with a relative or another male which you assume may be their partner but you’re not quick to assume. You notice Jared looking a few pamphlets displayed on the wall picking up a couple of pamphlets before sitting down in the chair next to you.
He begins to read one, you can see it’s about baby development, another about how pregnancy affects the woman during and after pregnancy, and the last one for expecting fathers. You’re a little confused on why he’s reading, possibly to pass the time but there are magazines laid out on the little table next to you that he could read. He notices your confusion and points to the pamphlet before speaking. “It’s good to know this stuff, ya know be prepared,” He said as he skimmed over the information.
You him and nod your head. “That’s good.” You reply back as you examine the pictures on the pamphlet.
You can tell there’s something else he wants to say as he takes a deep breath. “Uh… Stacy and I are planing to have kids soon in the near future, kinda thought this would be a good opportunity to read up on this for when the time comes.” He says as you notice his smile becomes wider at the thought of it.
You look at Jared and raise your brow in surprise. “Really? That’s great.” You say as Jared nods continues to smile.
“Thanks. We decided to wait till we settled down, and now that we’re getting there we decided it was time.” He says.
You didn’t think your sister would ever want any kids, you took her as the type to be childfree and live her life being single and on her own. But now that she has Jared by her side, she’s really changed, in a good way of course. “That’s amazing to hear, looks like my baby will have a cousin soon.” You say as you feel your bag vibrate and a chime sounds, opening your bag you fish out your phone and read the screen seeing there’s a message from Stacy.
Stacy: How’s the check up going?
You: Still in the waiting room, just got here but it’s shouldn’t be too long.
You send the message and revive a reply a few seconds later.
Stacy: Oh, well let me know how my little niece or nephew is doing, make sure you follow whatever your doctors says to keep you and the baby healthy. Also when you come back I have a surprise for you ;)
You look at the message a bit confused but smile a bit excited for the surprise.
“Yn.” A voice calls out to you, you look up to see a nurse with a clip board in hand scanning around the waiting room looking for you.
You stand up letting yourself be known, “Right here.” You say with a smile.
The nurse looks at you and offers you a kind smile. “Perfect, Dr. Raven is ready to see you.” She says.
You nod your head and look at Jared, “You okay with waiting out here?” You ask him as he looks up at you and nodded.
“yeah, I’ll be waiting out here.” Jared says and give you a reassuring smile and nod. “Good luck.”
You smile at him before making your way towards the nurse feeling anxious and antsy for some reason. You didn’t know why you felt like this but then again, you’ll be seeing your baby for the first time at least through a screen until the big day you deliver the baby.
As you walk through the halls with the nurse leading you through. You spot a couple in the distance, the woman with a noticeable bump as he husband smiles at her as the walk into a room with his hand around her waist leading her into the room. You feel a emptiness overcome you as you suddenly feel your body grow cold, if you didn’t feel alone before, you definitely felt it right now. You imagine what could’ve been if Simon wanted to stick around, how these visits would be less lonely and filled with more joy then the melancholy feeling you were experiencing right now. He would’ve been able to see your growing baby, see your bump grow bigger over the month before you finally get to meet them and live the rest of your lives as parents.
Thought of your memory with Simon, talking to him about Romeo and Juliet you found it amusing with how your life had played out, almost like the story, life didn’t play out the way you wanted with Simon. Life really can be cruel.

“You say things with your mouth, cobwebs and flies come out / I hear a second voice behind your tongue somehow / Luckily, I can read your mind, flies and cobwebs unwind / They will not take you down, They will not cast you out”
Or, you’re fine. And whatever other words hide behind those four letters. Spencer sees what a piece of you wants to hide from him.
notes fluff (mcondance writes fluff??) but still MDNI, reader is neurodivergent this is for my baby girls (audhd spencer reid kissers), inspired by those lyrics from lovely by twenty øne piløts, do not listen while you read. this is what having a dual tøp-spencer reid era does to a writer. gif from pinterest. also guys please i’ve been experimenting with layouts for my works for like… months now if this layout is ugly just ignore it please please. mcondance capitalizes ?!
word count 1.1k+ (closer to 1.2k hello i am proud)
You lie still on your back in the middle of the bed as you watch Spencer close the door and set his cardigan down on the chair by the dresser. He floats through the dim room, momentarily lit up by the interludes of soft moonlight wafting through the windows. He takes his place beside the bed. Your music pauses.
“You okay?” He asks quietly.
“I’m fine.”
You’re lying. Spencer knows you’re lying; it wouldn’t take a genius to deduce that. It’s in your voice, most obviously. But it’s in the other details that only Spencer would notice, too. Not because he’s a genius, but because he’s your Spencer.
The room is dark. Which wouldn’t be much of a problem, if you didn’t sound so bleak and tired when you spoke. You have your big headphones on, which, again, wouldn’t be so bad if you’d have pulled one back when he walked in, or even just told him that the song’s almost at the good part, and then after it hits you’ll take them off.
The room is bathed in moonlight. The moon, and your Spencer. Two shoulders for you to lean on. Three, actually, with the music you were just listening to.
But all of the shoulders just aren’t enough to block out the bad feelings you’re having right now.
Overwhelmed. Sad. A little depressed. Whatever.
“I don't think so, honey,” Spencer speaks softly from where he stands in a split of moonlight, hands in his pockets as he shrugs.
He glows in a silver streak. You sniffle. Fuck.
He allows silence to ensue, obviously giving you time to get your thoughts together. The bed dips to the left as he sits down beside you and props his leg up. A part of you wants to laugh at the common knowledge that if you had the will to look down you’d see an interesting sock and a Converse, but you don’t have the energy to do anything but what you’ve been doing since you let your playlist roll into its fifth run— lay down and alternate between staring out into the blackness of your room and the backs of your eyelids.
“It’s nothing,” you obfuscate. But it’s obviously not nothing.
Again, he lets his silence give you comfort instead of pushing you to talk. You take it gratefully, as it gives you the time you need to collect yourself and try to put words to what’s going on in your head and all under your skin.
You breathe in.
“I'm just… irritated.”
You breathe out.
A bit of weight lifts off of your chest at your short admission, but the elephant in the room continues to perch tall and proud on you, crushing you and leaving very little room for you to exist.
Still, Spencer is silent. The quiet puffs of his breath and the dip in the mattress are enough. Anything else would be too much, and he knows that. So he lets you lead him into the dark with you, he stays still and lets you guide him into the cavernous deep of all that you feel right now.
The fan whirs and cars pass outside the window. The stillness of the night almost laughs at the chaos ensuing in you.
Another breath, deeper this time as you gather the courage to try to express what it is you’re feeling.
“I don't know,” you blurt. “Everything's just too loud and my friends are all annoying and nothing on YouTube is interesting and I feel like I'm gonna explode and crumble all at the same time.” Those tears are bubbling up under the surface of your skin again and threatening to spill out of your eyes.
And now that you’ve spoken and some of the tension in the air has dissipated, Spencer feels it’s appropriate for him to talk.
“It’s okay, baby. You’ve been working a lot lately without many breaks and now you’ve run out of steam, and that’s okay. It happens. You’re just burnt out.”
Horribly, his sweet words inflame a mean, hot part of you. You scoff, finding the strength to wipe a stray tear as it falls. Spencer knows you don’t mean it, that something up in your brain has just had enough and is now denying you of any feeling but solitary petrification.
Burnout. You hate that word. You wish it didn’t happen to you. You wish that you were normal and being stressed didn’t mean paralysis and staring at the ceiling like it’ll change and morph into an answer or a semblance of comfort.
In the dark, you strain your eyes at his form. You can just barely make out the wisps of hair flying in all directions away from his face. His posture is terrible. You can tell he’s looking off to the side of you so you won’t feel overwhelmed under his eyes. Perhaps he was made for you.
The air softens, and you do too. The facade of anger slips away as quickly as it reared its ugly head. You take a shuddering breath and let your head fall towards him.
He moves closer and a beam of moonlight illuminates him as he takes you in with warmth etched onto the comfort of his face.
Something up in your brain has just had enough and is now denying you of any feeling but solitary petrification.
Fortunately, Spencer won’t let that happen.
How grateful you are for this man who won’t let you get the aloneness that some tired part of you craves. He’ll stick beside you and sit in silence for hours upon hours if it meant you wouldn’t feel alone. He has done that before. He’d do it again in a heartbeat.
With him smiling softly at you even in your cocoon of darkness, that sweet quirk of his lips that is ever-present when he’s looking at you, you feel a little better. Now, he can touch you. Before that thought even registers, he reaches out for your knee and rests his hand there, rubbing his thumb up and down over your skin.
It doesn’t cross the line of overstimulation, and it doesn’t feel like not enough. It’s just enough. Spencer can read you as well as the surplus of books he reads daily. There’s no push to get up, to take your headphones off or turn the light on.
Spencer wants only for you to breathe, and to know that he is here. When he hears your breathing become easy again, and he feels just a bit more of the discord you’re swathed in slip off of you, he knows you know.
His hand on your knee won’t nurse you back to your functioning form. And it’s not what he’s striving to do.
And as you look through the darkness into his moon-bathed eyes, you know you’ll have him here with you every step of the way, by some divine power that put him in your life. And that’s okay. You won’t be okay for a while, but you have him to lean on. You’ll always have him to lean on. You feel the love he has for you radiating off of him, pushing into your skin as he caresses it slowly.
Getting out of bed sometime later sounds a little easier, now.

— loose lips sink ships pt2
Tumblr media
pairing: jessie fleming x reader part 1, part 3
synopsis: jessie goes out with her team and reconnects with her ex from college
warnings: language
a/n: with the way i’m writing this i honestly have no idea how long the series is gonna be but my hopes is more than 3 parts. (this is also shorter than i intended whoops)
୧ ‧₊˚ 🍁 ⋅ ˚ ༘ ೀ⋆。˚
music pumps through the bar as jessie’s teammates down drinks. they’re occupying a corner and a bit of a long booth against the back wall furthest from the bar, tucked away in the darkness as they all happily talk and laugh.
she’s squashed in between janine and the wall, nursing a half drunk beer as she listens to her canadian teammate’s conversation. jordyn and janine talk animatedly about something, leading the conversation whilst quinn and sinc add their two cents every so often.
she takes a swig and tries to decipher whatever jordyn is trying to say in her half-drunken state when someone comes to stand just in front of her. she drains her neck to see olivia dressed in a simple black t-shit and jeans, her hair pulled back loosely. she smiles.
“how’s the ankle?”
“it’s okay” olivia says with a wave of her hand “it’s heaps better now but i still have to stay off it as best i can”
jessie immediately stands “do you wanna sit? i you can take my spot”
“no, no, that’s okay. i’m good standing”
the canadian still moves out of the way “are you sure? because it’s really no big deal”
olivia tuts “you haven’t changed much from college, have you?”
for some reason jessie’s face blazes at the small comment. she rubs the back of her neck hesitantly “i guess not, no”
the seattle player slides in front of jessie and between the table, the two of them chest to chest, as she sits in the spot that was previously occupied. jessie leans on the wall and nervously taps her pointer finger against the cool glass of her bottle as olivia looks her up and down innocently.
“that’s a good thing, y’know. you were always such a sweetheart, it’s nice to know that part of you hasn’t changed as you’ve gotten older” olivia says as she takes a sip of whatever she’s drinking “though, i didn’t think it would”
jessie tilts her head “you haven’t changed much either”
“good”
a beat of silence overcomes the two of them and suddenly jessie was really missing you. she’d settled into portland fine, but outside of sinc and janine she didn’t really have any solid connections with anybody on the team. you were always the more social of the two of you and often acted as a buffer for jessie in these situations.
“how have you been?” olivia asks “moving from london to portland is pretty big”
“i’ve been good, getting settled and such” jessie nods “it was just time for a change i suppose. i wasn’t getting the game time at chelsea and i wanted to make a bigger impact, among other things” she shrugs and takes another sip of her beer, her nerves slowly fading out of her “how about you? been up to much?”
“honestly, not really. same old same old.” olivia says as she finishes off her drink, leaving the ice at the bottom of her glass to clink against the sides “i saw that you’re now the captain of canada, congrat—”
“the wife stayed home then” sam interrupts louldy as she flings an arm around jessie
jessie grimaces at her intrusion “yeah—”
“wife?” olivia asks, directing her gaze from coffey to jessie’s unoccupied ring finger “you’re married?”
“they may as well be” sam half boasts for jessie “it’s sickening how cute they are, makes me wanna throw up”
jessie gives olivia a small smile “she’s just my girlfriend, we’re not even engaged”
“oh” olivia says “why didn’t she come out?”
“she, uh, she was the one you elbowed in the nose. she’s just really swollen and didn’t really want to” jessie says as she rubs the back of her neck “it’s not broken or anything though”
a look of surprise washes over olivia’s face as she wracks her brain trying to remember what you look like. she tilts her head in thought “send her my best then, i didn’t get to talk to her after the game”
jessie shifts from one foot to the other “i will”
“…so how long have you two been together?”
“it’ll be four years in november” she says shortly. this wasn’t a conversation she was expecting to have to be honest. the two of you weren’t a secret amongst the footballing world, to the players at least, so she had just assumed that olivia knew about the two of you.
olivia’s eyebrows raise in surprise “you moved on quick then” she laughs “we only broke up, like, a month and a half before you moved to london”
sam’s eyes rapidly go from jessie to olivia to back to jessie, a look of confusion on her face. she cocks a brow and takes a long sip of her vodka and coke, grasping the short straw between her thumb and forefinger as she sticks out her pinkie.
jessie’s lips fall into a flat line “i guess” she says awkwardly, taking another sip of her beer and eyeing janine. her best friend looks the two of them up and down with a blank expression before turning back to jordyn, sinc and quinn. jessie tears her eyes away.
“what about you. seeing anyone?”
olivia swirls the ice in her glass “uh, no” she says looking up at jessie “you’re not a very easy person to get over”
her words make jessie feel a bit off-kilter. she quickly looks to sam who concludes that she isn’t apart of this conversation and pats jessie on the back before leaving, going off to talk to the others. jessie breathes a short sigh of relief. her and olivia had talked shortly a few times over the years, like when canada won gold at the olympics and olivia congratulated her, but jessie never got any indication that maybe she wasn’t over the relationship.
she must be wearing her thoughts all over her face because olivia is quick to put her hands up “i meant you weren’t! there’s no ah— i don’t feel that way anymore” she rushes, looking down at her glass before smiling back at jessie “and i’m really happy that you’ve found someone”
jessie nods “thanks, she’s pretty great”
olivia nods “she’d have to be to keep up with you”
time passes as the two of them continue to talk and laugh, reminiscing their time together at school. the two of them fall into conversation like they’d stayed close over the past four years, words flowing easily and laughs bubbling.
suddenly, jordyn jumps up from her spot “photo! everyone get in for the photo!”
jessie rolls her eyes but turns around to face her canadian teammate. olivia shuffles over as people move to fill the gap that jordyn left “sit” she says as she taps jessie on the lower back.
she smiles and nods a thanks, squeezing in next to the wall like she had been before.
“jessie smile!” jordyn scolds “sinc move your head i can’t see quinny”
sinc rolls her eyes at jordyn’s demands but complies. once she’s happy with how everyone looks, jordyn takes the photos. she spam clicks her phone and quickly goes through them whilst smiling, clearly satisfied with how they all turned out.
this time olivia stands. she tugs on the shoulders of her shirt and turns around to face jessie “i’m gonna go” she says jerking her thumb “but i had a really good time catching up with you. i’d love to do it again whenever we can”
jessie can’t help but smile “i’d like that too” she says.
olivia places a hand on jessie’s shoulder before going and saying goodbye to her own teammates, leaving jessie once again tucked away in the corner.
she finishes off her beer just as janine slides into her, pushing her further into the wall. the two of them are now shoulder to shoulder “so, olivia”
jessie narrows her eyes “what about her?”
“i just didn’t know she was coming”
“yeah, she said she didn’t know if she was going to when i spoke to her this afternoon. guess she changed her mind” jessie shrugs “it was good seeing her”
janine hums “how’s y/n?”
“good. sore, but fine” she answers as she places the empty glass bottle down. “she’s probably asleep, she was in a frosty mood before i left”
janine’s eyes go wide and she necks the remainder of her drink, slamming it down on the table “i’m gonna get another, do you want one?” she rushes as she points to the empty beer bottle.
jessie cocks her brow “changing the subject, much” she points out “but no, i’m fine. not really in the mood to drink”
janine shrugs “i’m not changing the subject, i was just asking if you wanted another drink” she says surely, standing.
jessie rolls her eyes as janine whips around to go to the bar, stumbling slightly as she smacks her thigh into the table. soph and sam also stand and follow her, the three of them talking eachother’s ears off as they go.
the midfielder slumps in her seat as fatigue catches up with her. she closes her eyes momentarily before her phone buzzes in her pocket.
getting it out, she sees that she’s been tagged in jordyn’s instagram story. upon opening the app, she comes face to face with one of the group photos that was taken, a mix of portland and seattle players all squished into frame. her eyes fall to the end where her and olivia are basically on top of one another. she’s donning a proper smile, as per jordyn’s request, and olivia’s leg is almost thrown over her right knee.
she doesn’t think anything of it and locks her phone after liking the story, smiling and raising her eyebrows as janine comes back.
she’s careful not to hit her leg again as she slots back in between jessie and soph — who is now sitting where sinc was — and begins talking as she sits.
“ethan’s gonna come get me, we can take you home if you want? save you calling an uber or something” she says as she sips her drink.
jessie nods “yeah, that would be great”
“he says he’ll be here in five!” she informs jessie cheerily “which is good because you looked like you’ve wanted to leave since olivia left”
“i have not” jessie protests as she furrows her brows “i’m just tired”
“mmm okay” the forward purses her lips “it was good catching up with her then?”
“yeah, yeah it was. i haven’t seen her in a while” jessie says, a hint of nostalgia tainting her voice.
“i thought the two of you stayed friends after college?”
“we did” jessie picks her fingernails “we just obviously haven’t seen eachother”
almost awkward silence overtakes the pair of friends and jessie suddenly feels uneasy. she still felt awkward talking about olivia despite the fact that they ended on good terms, and four years ago. the feeling of nostalgia wasn’t one that was welcomed when she thought about her first love.
jessie had tried to date people in highschool once or twice but she was still figuring out her sexuality and juggling school and football, ultimately it just came down to the fact that she didn’t have time to maintain a relationship. it was pretty much the same for her first two years of college. she had spoken to a few girls, went on some dates and even let teagan try to set her up at frat parties. none of it stuck until olivia.
they were close friends in school and the feelings had just developed naturally. the pair of them agreed that if it didn’t go anywhere, then it didn’t matter, it just meant that they were better as friends.
only, it did go somewhere. olivia had become jessie’s first for pretty much everything when it came to a relationship. she was the first girl jessie had said i love you to, her first time, and her first heartbreak.
when chelsea ended up on jessie’s doorstep she knew she couldn’t refuse. they were a powerhouse of a club and with women’s football growing, she knew that it was where she wanted to be. olivia and jessie agreed that long distance wasn’t going to work and broke up before her move to london. the breakup was amicable and sad. there were a few tears after olivia left her dorm room and jessie in the silence, but she quickly picked herself up and moved on, promising that she’d focus on football.
then she moved, and covid was hitting hard, and she was still settling, and then she met you.
you, who had captured her attention immediately. you, who had left her obsessed after just one conversation. you, who she was sure was the love of her life.
but you weren’t here right now and she hated that because of your absence, feelings of longing and nostalgia had managed to bleed their way into her heart. she was sure she didn’t love olivia anymore — she knew she didn’t — but that didn’t stop the reminiscing.
janine coughs “well, it’s good that you got to catch up then!” she says as she, once again, necks her drink, making jessie’s brows furrow in confusion.
“you usually pace yourself better” jessie points out.
“do i? i didn’t know that” janine shrugs “ethan says i’m a sloppy drunk”
“yeah, maybe when you were under the age of twenty five” jessie says cautiously “what’s with you tonight?”
“what do you mean?” janine tilts her head and fakes confusion.
jessie rolls her eyes but waves her off, not being in the mood to entertain whatever game janine is playing when she’s so ready to go to bed. “don’t worry about it”
janine’s phone buzzes and she claps her hands and stands “perfect, let’s go then, ethan’s here”
jessie follows janine’s lead and stands to say goodbye to the people she knows and the people she doesn’t, waving on her way out to the car so she can go home to you.

"Been missing you, y'know." Ony rasped against your ear, after giving you a light kiss to the cheek. The two of you sat in his car, air condition blasting through the fans and you two sat quietly enjoying the music that played on the radio; not too loud but just enough to cover the silence that you two sat in. Eyes low and hooded as your head laid against the rest, high out of your mind, giggling at Ony trying to sing 'Pull Up' by Luh Kel. "I pull up to yo crib every time I miss you. " Ony mumbled, puffing out smoke from the blunt he had not too long passed you.
It had been two hours since he pulled up to your house, blowing the horn for you to come outside and spend some time with him. Of course, you couldn't resist. The blonde waves with a fade and a tooth grill on one of his canines, the olive-green hellcat charger with leather seats; not to mention your name in Italics on the passenger seat head rest.
His outfit was another story. Green hoodie with white t-shirt and all-black sweatpants and the green crocs that you had bought him for his birthday last year so that you two could have matching crocs.
You two weren't together as many speculated but you had been close friends for quite some time. The dynamic between the two of you was odd but neither of you said anything. Just as Connie said, 'Just going with the flow' and that's what you two had been doing all this time.
You liked whatever was going through but sometimes your mind wandered and you ended up wishing that the two of you had something going on.
Maybe it had the false realities you had made up in your mind about your relationship with him, but you knew that would never happen. You knew that he had his mind made up of not getting into any relationship from the time before. You remembered it like it was yesterday.
"You look so beautiful in this dress." Ony complimented, his thumb and index finger played with the hem of your dress. You sat on his lap with your hands around his neck, rubbing shapes onto his neck.
His brown eyes stared into yours, he was high off the love you gave him and loved every second of it while you searched from some sign or clue; wishing that some sort of emotion would appear in his eyes since he never spoke on how he felt.
"What do you think about relationships Y/n?" he asked, looking up to meet your gaze. You quirked an eyebrow before formulating the words to answer his question. “I love every aspect about them. Once you find that person you really cherish in your life, the person you think ‘Yea, I want to spend the rest of my life with’, I think that’s when you know. It’s just not about the thinking about them all day long or the cute little texts they send but it’s how they make you feel on the inside and no, I’m not speaking about sex Ony” you stated, pausing to squint at him when he heard the last part, you playfully rolled your eyes before continuing.
“You’ll know when the time is right. What about you?” you pondered, tilting your head, waiting for his response. Lost in thoughts, Onyakapon rubbed his chin before he answered, shaking his head to confirm his thoughts. “Nah, relationships aren’t my thing. Hasn’t been for awhile. Not since I’ve been around you.” he grinned, making a joke out of something you cherished dearly, but you said nothing. You weren't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing in what he said but it did pull you back slightly.
You looked at him in confusion, head titling to a side. " What do you mean?" You weren't sure on how you felt on his statement so before you jumped to any conclusions you asked him to further explain his statement. "I don't do relationships Y/n. Too much stress and effort but whatever this is we got going on, I like it. No titles, nothing. Just two friends kissing and fooling around." he explained, rubbing circles onto your exposed thigh in hopes of calming whatever thoughts had come into your mind.
"Friends don't kiss and fool around Ony. Friends to buy other friends expensive clothing to wear to 5-star restaurants, to spend time with each other Ony. " You commented, slowly pulling away from hi embrace. He slightly rolled his eyes before answering, " But we do." You laid in his embrace a while longer before getting back into the passenger seat, pulling the seatbelt across your body. You hadn't said much after that as the ride went on, and Ony noticed this but kept quiet. When he made it back to your house, you were quick to get out of the car, but Ony stretched over and pulled the door shut. Before you could protest, he quickly summarized, "Are you upset about what I said earlier?'
Nodding, you heard him sigh. "I get you don't like relationships and what not but I'm not going to go on in a friendship just messing around with you and it gets nowhere. You know how I feel about them Ony. We know each other so why you can't just trust me, Trust me and we can get through this together." By the end of your small speech, you were practically begging Ony to try at having a relationship with you. But with the look on his face, you could already hear his answer. "This was pointless." you muttered before getting out of the car.
When you shut the door to your flat, you silently wished that Ony would come knocking at the door, begging you to open the door so that the two of you could talk and maybe try to work things out. Yet, your imagination can only go so far.

Of Cupcakes and Skulls | Part 2
(A/N) Ehehehe. Hahahaha. Muhahahaha. That's all. Have a great day.
Pairing: single dad! Mafia! Simon x baker! Reader
Warning: fluff and a bit of angst
Synopsis: Based on this post by @lunamoonbby
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You continued to think about Simon and Millie the entire way home and even when you lay in bed, trying to sleep, your mind kept replaying the events of the evening. After tossing and turning for hours, you gave up and got out of bed. If you couldn’t sleep, you could at least be productive.
One look at the clock told you that it was already two a.m. and you’d have to get up and leave in a few hours anyway, so why not do it earlier? Plus, you still had cleanup left from yesterday - might as well get a headstart on that.
As soon as you entered your bakery, you turned on the coffee machine, knowing you would need the energy throughout the day. After flipping on all the lights, you put on your apron and started to prepare the baked goods you needed for the day. Different kinds of bread, rolls, and sweets - all freshly prepared in the morning. By the time most of the goods were in the different ovens, Mary entered the bakery, surprise clear on her face.
“What are you doing here so early?”
You smiled at her from your position at the sink, rinsing everything before putting it in the industrial dishwasher.
“Couldn’t sleep. Plus I didn’t finish cleanup yesterday. Thought I could do that instead of tossing and turning.”
She chuckled and nodded in understanding, quickly getting ready to help you. Mary was an older woman in her late 70s. She came by a few weeks after you opened and the two of you quickly fell into a friendship. Since then, she’d come by every morning and help you prepare for the day. She made her famous salads, a favorite amongst your regulars and something only she could make. You tried it once, with her recipe, when she was sick, but it just didn’t taste the same.
The pair of you worked side by side in silence, quiet music floating through the air as you mopped the floors and she cut the different ingredients. You quickly got lost in your own world, Simon’s face appearing in front of your eyes more often than you’d care to admit. Mary had to call your name three times before you registered her voice. You quickly spun to look at her, humming in acknowledgment.
“There is a gentleman outside. He’s been waiting and staring for a few minutes now.”
You turned to look and to your surprise, you saw Simon. He was wearing a thick wool coat over a black suit, his hands hidden behind his back. With wide eyes, you put the mop in a corner and rushed to the door, opening it and ushering him inside, baffled that he had waited in the cold, instead of just knocking on the door.
“Simon! What…What are you doing here?”
He smiled at you, slowly bringing his hands out from behind his back, a large bouquet of different wildflowers in his hands.
“I wanted to thank you again, that you took care of Millie yesterday.”
You felt yourself blush as he gazed at you, holding the bouquet for you to take. With shaky hands, you did, feeling the weight of it settle against your fingers. Your eyes flickered up and you blinked a few times, not sure what to say. It was the first time you had ever received a bouquet, not to mention such a gorgeous one. And how did he know that you preferred wildflowers over roses and tulips?
You started stammering out something akin to ‘thank you’ when Mary interrupted you, swooping in and rescuing you.
“Oh, that is lovely.”
She looked at you with pointed eyes, mumbling your name.
“Why don’t you introduce me to this gentleman?”
That kicked you back into action and you nodded, eyes flickering between Simon and Mary.
“Right. Mary, this is Simon. Simon, Mary. Simon’s daughter Millie got lost yesterday and found her way here, I took care of her for a bit until Simon came by.”
With an understanding smile, Mary reached out and shook Simon’s hand.
“I see. Well, it is very nice to meet you, Simon.”
Mary turned to you and gently took the bouquet.
“I’ll find a vase for those.”
You nodded and quickly thanked her, watching until she disappeared into the kitchen. Then you turned back to Simon, who was still staring at you.
“I…Thank you, it really wasn’t necessary.”
He shook his head and took a step closer. Immediately, you could smell him - a mix of cigarettes and gunpowder and wood. And while you usually couldn’t stand the smell of cigarettes, it fit him and you didn’t mind one bit as long as it was him that smelt like it.
“Nothing I could do would ever be enough to show you how grateful I am for last evening. I’m sure you have figured out who I am by now, and if any of my enemies would have gotten a hold of Millie, they…she…”
Rage and fear filled his eyes as his hands shook from the strength with which he clenched them into fists. You instinctively reached out, holding one of his fists with both of your hands.
“They didn’t. And that is all that matters, right?”
He slowly nodded, softness returning to his eyes as they flickered to look at your hands still holding his. You quickly let go, but before you could pull them back, he caught them in his, gently squeezing. Heat returned to your cheeks as you stood there, him holding your hands, a soft smile on his face. It felt serene as if the world melted away and only the two of you were left, but the moment just had to get ruined when the alarm you had set on your phone.
A quiet groan escaped you, as you fished the phone out of your pocket and turned it off, letting go of Simon’s hands in the progress. He chuckled as he watched you grumble something incoherent, before glancing up at him.
“I have to…”
He nodded and leaned closer, pressing his lips to your temple again, before pulling away and with one last smile, left the bakery, glancing back once. You again watched until you could no longer see him before you returned to the kitchen, where Mary waited, a smirk on her face.
“He sure is handsome.”
You chuckled, shaking your head as you returned to your work, leaving the statement uncommented. After all, it was true and there was nothing you could add.
The rest of your day went by as usual. Once you opened, Mary left, and you started serving customers. You couldn’t lie, you spent the whole day, hoping Simon and Millie would walk through the door, but they didn’t. And neither did they the following day. Or the one after that.
After an entire week went by without so much as a whisper from them, you gave up, accepting that all Simon did probably meant nothing to him and he just wanted to make sure that you wouldn’t report him to the police.
You had just finished up cleaning when the bell over the door rang out again and hope filled your heart. With a wide smile, you rushed into the salesroom, but it wasn’t Simon waiting for you. Nor Millie. It was a group of four individuals, all of them wearing long, black coats and suits. They looked similar to Simon but…their presence felt off. They looked around, the grins on their faces way too smug and there was no kindness in their eyes.
“C-Can I help you?”
You hated the way your voice trembled and clenched your fists, trying to get your emotions under control. The one in front looked up, his grin turning sinister.
“Ah. You are the little bird Riley has grown fond of, aren’t you?”
He had a German accent, something you rarely encountered. The way he said ‘Riley’ sent a chill down your spine and you slowly took a step back.
“What do you want?”
He cocked his head to the side, his eyes dragging over your form before a single word left his lips.
“You.”

Locked up
Request: Can I have uuuhhhh…. A45 - person A being a small ball of aggression while person B is a big teddy bear with Tara Carpenter as Person A (maybe not agressive but how Tara is, maybe a bit grumpy and moody) and Reader as person B? And also maybe that R is Flustered around Tara ◡̈
Warning: suggestive themes, Tara being kinky, bad words and that’s it I think?
A/N: I just figured something out and I love doing it sm.
Part 2?
Tara Carpenter x G!p!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A fight between Tara and Sam is always hell, both trying to always be right which made it all go in a constant circle. You were usually the main cause of them and because of that they seemed to be getting more and more frequent as Tara healed over time after Woodsboro. The aftermath was always you having to listen to Tara rant in your own apartment not too far from their shared one.
And every time you took it upon yourself to tell Sam she was with you knowing the older carpenter was probably freaking out each second Tara was gone. She tried to hate you for it — how you would rage along whenever she would sneak off to parties or sneak into their apartment or sneak Tara out — but it was no use, you were too sweet and always protected Tara so she settled for subtle glares and small comments whenever you were near.
The relationship itself confused Sam and many others around you. While you were quiet and reserved, Tara was out going and wanted to be out there. Which made her wonder why you just followed her where ever she decided to go.
Let’s not forget the size difference. How could she? When she first met you at the hospital she had to admit, she was both surprised and intimidated but you seemed to be far more intimidated by the older sister. Your personality was completely different from your looks which made everything far more confusing to the girl.
How can someone so big be so soft for her grumpy short sister? She had no clue.
But here you say on the couch at a random costume party hosted by some chick you’ve never met with a red solo cup full something you didn’t dare ask when Chad gave it to you in your black tank top and orange cargo pants dressed as a prisoner, per Tara’s request to match her. It was Tara’s way of rebelling against her sister and to prove that she was her own woman.
Music blaring loudly, the entire house dark with flashing lights, and people moved and danced closely. Something you weren’t fond of but still went along with the group because Tara seemed so excited about it.
In the dark room you catch sight of Chad in his zombie football player costume, a classic and boring one but then again it was last second. And not too far behind him was Ethan in his… Yoshi costume… the large hat stuck out and you began to realize why he didn’t have a girlfriend, he made up for it with his awkward charm though.
You had a few shots with the two and allowed Chad to make you a drink mixed with different things you dare not drink out of before slipping away onto the empty couch.
That left Mindy, Anika and Tara who were most likely somewhere playing a game having something to do with alcohol.
Suddenly, a girl in a Mario costume takes a seat next to you. At least she could have made it look cute, it was just a red t-shirt with an ‘M’ on it and black shorts.
Another group stood nearby watching and giggling. You notice another girl who wore the same thing but as Luigi. Oh great.
A few beats of silence goes by before she speaks. “Hey, do I know you from somewhere?” she asks with a smile before leaning in and as soon as she does your nose is filled with her excessive amount of body spray. Not even the good kind.
“Uh,” you start before looking through out the dark room to see if you can find any of your friends but not even Ethan’s Yoshi hat was in sight. “No, I don’t think so?” You say, slightly scooting away from the girl and sipping your drink, face scrunching up after taking your first sip not knowing how strong it really was.
Another best of silence, the music sending vibrations through your body. “Oh, I know!” She yells and you flinch slightly, not sure how she managed to make her voice louder than the music that shook the house but she did.
“You’re that cute tall girl in my astronomy class!” She says and your eyes snap to the side giving her a side eye glare. You didn’t recognize her from the class but then again you didn’t exactly pay attention to the people, not trusting anyone enough to make new friends.
Now you see what Sam meant when she called you ‘anti-social Godzilla’ the other night when Tara made you stay the night with her.
“You, like, sit in the back of the class.” She says excitedly and scoots a little closer. Too close for comfort, your face scrunches up slightly from the mass amount of perfume wafted into your face as she gets closer, saying something you could no longer hear as the music suddenly got louder and the DJ spoke into his mic.
“Huh?” You call out as her mouth continued to move but nothing really comes out or rather you don’t hear anything. This seems to make her move closer, a bad choice in the eyes of the brunette who watched not too far away.
Anger couldn’t describe what she was feeling as she watched the girl lean closer toward you. She would never admit to being jealous out loud but here she was, watching your face scrunch up as you tilt your head at the girl.
It wasn’t often she felt this way, not at all. Even before you started dating you didn’t show any interest in anyone else but her and that’s exactly how she got you to ask her out so she didn’t have to. And even now she trusted you never to betray her trust but that didn’t stop others from pursuing you anyway.
And that made her blood boil. How could they not know your taken with the necklace that had her initials on it? Or the fact that you had faint hickeys on your neck left by her? Maybe they just took advantage of the fact that you were a push over or they were just dumb.
That’s what this blonde bitch must have been. Straight up dumb.
She had seen her staring at you on campus and made it her mission to show that you were together by being all over you. Holding your hand, hugging you, kissing you, sitting in your lap, all of it. But apparently that just wasn’t enough.
“I think we should jump her.” Mindy says out of no where, face close to Tara’s to see what she was looking at. She was slightly crouched down and looked stupid doing so in her miles morales spider man suit as it bunched up in different places.
“Me too.” Tara huffs out as she crosses her arms, a small smirk appears on her faces as you pull away as the girl gets closer.
“Or you could just intervene without getting physical by pulling Y/N away.” Anika interjects in her spider Gwen outfit as she takes a shot.
“I like Mindy’s idea better.” Tara says, narrowing her eyes as the girl gets closer once again. “I’ll start by pushing her down and we can start kicking, Anika can record.” Mindy gums out as she stands up straight.
Tara definitely liked the idea, and even more so when the girl placed her hand on your arm.
“Don’t instigate, you’ll make her want to lock up Y/N for the night.” Anika hits Mindys chest as she gets closer, holding another shot before gesturing to Tara’s police costume.
Tara’s eyes light up at the idea and suddenly she was glad she went full cop mode with her costume. Taser and pepper spray that Sam forced her to carry around on her hips along with a radio, fake gun or rather it’s holster, and a pair of hand cuffs.
Oh, she definitely liked that idea and Anika smirked at the face Tara made when she suggested the idea.
Tara quickly took the handcuffs out of her belt loop and cuffed one of her wrist before making a beeline for you and just in time for the girl to get even closer. This fueled her speed of getting to you.
“Shoot me a thumbs up if you change your mind and want to go with plan A!” She heard Mindy’s voice faintly as the music blared in her ears.
As soon as she was close enough she hooked the other half of the hand cuffs onto the wrist the was holding your drink and locked it in, she then let go and stood up proud of herself as she glanced at you.
A confused look was spread across your face as you stared down at the hand cuffs connecting the two of you before looking up to her.
She couldn’t help but smile as a dark shade spread across your cheeks as you stared up at her, eyes wide and confused.
Her eyes snap to the girl before narrow at the annoyed look on her face. Why was she annoyed for flirting with her girlfriend. Tara felt the growing need to look back to Mindy and give her that thumbs up.
“Oops,” she says, voice sharp as she glares at the girl. “I slipped.” She sarcastically through gritted teeth as the girl rolls her eyes.
Who did this chick think she was? She couldn’t have thought you would even think about her with that basic ass costume and paint for make up.
“Don’t you have a key or something?” The girl says back, voice full of annoyance. She knew what she was doing and that was enough to make Tara want to be ghostface herself.
“I left them at home.” Tara replies before yanking your hand up to pull you up but it only caused you to drop the drink onto the floor.
“I’m thirsty and you’re all out.” She says her eyes snapping back to you as your eyes focus on the red seeping into the carpet on the floor. “Let’s go get a drink.”
You quickly got the memo when Tara pulled again but less harshly before standing up.
She smiles slightly up at you before sending the girl one last glare before slipping her bandaged and cuffed hand into yours and pulling you away.
“You slipped, huh?” You ask in a teasing tone as Tara pushes through the crowd with a huff. You apologize to the people who look back at her with a glare and move past them without bumping into them as Tara continued to shove her way through with slight resistance but she got through eventually with enough force.
“I am quite clumsy.” She replies as you near Mindy and Anika who have started a game of cup pong with two boys.
“Y/N! Great to see we didn’t have to jump a few girls to save your socially awkward ass.” Mindy replies before looking down to you and Tara’s cuffed hands.
“I didn’t take you for the kinky kind of couple.” Mindy says wiggling her eye brows before laughing when Anika hits her chest.
Tara’s eyes lightly up for a moment before quickly hiding it and smiling. Another idea for later.
Another wave of heat fills your face as you look down at Tara. Her police her was too large for her and was tilting slightly as she smirked not bothering to fix it. You would have thought it was adorable but at the moment you were a little embarrassed. “Did you actually leave the keys at home or we’re you joking?” You lean down and whisper into her as the music continues to blare, the action made her shiver lightly as her ears tinted with a pink hue.
“Oh, I have them.” She says casually as she picks up her drink she had before rushing off to get you. “But I’m not unlocking the cuffs until we get home.” She says as she holds up a red solo cup to her lips as leans into your front as she watches the game of cup pong.
You sigh out before smiling at her sudden possessiveness. It was often you got to see it but every time it always made you feel special that she wanted you all to herself.
You chuckle lightly before wrapping your arm around her and watching the game yourself as you rub her skin and bandage soothingly to help calm the girl down.
————
“Wait, just slow dow-“ you start as Tara pulls your wrist harshly as she climbs up her fire escape as quietly as possible before letting out a hiss as the cuffs pinch you lightly.
“Shit! Sorry, sorry..” she says as she lowers her wrist so you no longer felt the force of being pulled up. She had insisted on keeping the cuffs on and you were beginning to wonder if she actually had the keys.
You had been pulled around all night so your wrist weren’t exactly fond of the smaller girl, especially when she made you fall a few times through out the night and pull herself down with you.
“Why didn’t you just take them off before we started crawling up?” You whisper yell as she continues her way up, her back side pressed up against your front now and you can’t help the blush the forms as her ass presses up against your pelvis area.
“I wasn’t thinking!” She whisper yells back as you both make it up to her window. “Plus, it’s cute when you blush like that.” She giggles as your face grows redder before pulling you into her room.
The lights were off in the hall around the apartment as you slipped in and nothing seemed disturbed other than the fact that you and Tara would have a hangover in the morning but you could cover that up easily.
You sigh out as you take a seat on the bed and Tara fumbles into her pocket before pulling out the keys and unlocking the cuffs with a small frown.
You rub your wrist as you watch her make her way toward her closet, peeling off clothes as she did so.
You smile lightly as you watch her pull down one of the hoodies you gave her and pull it over her head before pulling down your cargo pants and letting them hit the floor.
She quickly makes her way back to you as you scoot up the bed before straddling your waist and burying her face into your neck and letting out a soft but long sigh. You chuckle lightly as you wrap your arms around her
She felt exhausted after pulling you around most of the night, keeping you close as you danced and drank the night away. But now she was regretting it slightly as her wrist aches and her body relaxed into you as you scratched her back.
She let out another sigh before her mind wandered back to the girl who had the audacity to try her shot with you. She slowly felt the jealousy creeping back up into her and her exhaustion left as she bit you lightly.
Your body jolts slightly as her teeth connect to your skin and she can’t help but smirk as she feels something move on your lower abdomen.
“Tara…” you say in a warning tone as she eyes the hand cuffs on her bed side table. “It’s late and everyone’s asleep, so we should be too.” You sigh out as your grip tightens on the smaller girl, blush creeping into your face as you feel your own erection push against your boxers and onto her.
To this day you are astonished by this small girls strength and speed as she pulls out of your grasp and grabs something off the table. You let out another before a loud clinking catches your attention as she slides up from your waist to straddle your stomach.
Your eyes snap to her hands as she grabs your wrist and pushes them against her bed frame, slipping one cuff on and sliding it behind the railing and slips it onto your other.
You stare up, shocked by the sudden movements and their results. You yank lightly onto the cuffs and the bed frame moves, hitting the wall gently making a small noise.
Tara quickly grabs your hands and holds them still, a glare on her face as she looks down at you.
“T-tara..” you sputter out as blush once again forms across your cheeks.
“Shh,” she says leaning down, hands still on yours as her lips graze yours. “Wouldn’t want to make too much noise, now would we?” She says teasingly as a smile stretches across her face as her lust filled eyes look down into your worried ones.
“What if we get caught?” You ask, eyes locking onto the door where same could walk in any moment and catch you in such a state.
She presses her lips against yours harshly, one hand moving the your jaw as the other stays on your bound hands. Your lips move in sync as the kiss deepens further, her body pressed against yours and she slowly feels your cock harden as she does so and she can’t help but smirk lightly at how easy it was to get you going. She hadn’t even touched you and yet here you were, ready for her to start.
But there was no doubt in her mind that she was still going to touch and tease you first before starting.
The thoughts of Sam walking In immediately leave as you let out a small whine and pull against you restraints, desperate to touch the girl above you. Tara’s hand tighten on yours and her teeth nip your bottom lip. You open your mouth slightly from the sudden intrusion and she takes the opportunity to slip her tongue into your mouth.
Oh, this was going to be fun. Will it cause yet another fight between her and her sister? Yes. Does she really care at the moment? Absolutely not.
She’ll just use this as another excuse to rebel against the older Carpenter.

It’s a short ride. Neither of you speak, allowing the music to fill the space between you. It’s comfortable. You listen to each song as the cassette plays through the specific mix curated by its maker. Max had shown you a few of these ‘mixtapes' Billy had made the day you waited with her. You don’t fully understand how he’s able to get each song to seamlessly blend into the next despite the variation in artists and rhythms.
Then a song comes on that grabs your attention. It’s the same loud tune, a guitar continuously strumming along with the beat of drums and bass. The thing that stands out to you are the lyrics.
“People think I’m insane,  because I’m frowning all the time…  I need someone to show me the things in life that I can’t find I can’t see the things that make true happiness,  I must be blind.”
“Who sings this?” You ask, glancing sidelong at Billy.
“Black Sabbath.” He tells you, keeping his eyes ahead. “It’s one of their older songs but it still holds up.” He explains pulling to a stop in front of his house. When he moves to cut the engine your hand reflexively grabs his wrist, stopping him.
“Wait. I want to hear the rest.” You tell him, using your other hand to turn up the volume.   Billy doesn’t fight you, watching you in silence as you listen to the rest of the song.
“Make a joke and I will sigh And you will laugh and I will cry Happiness I cannot feel And love to me is so unreal… I tell you to enjoy life I wish I could, but it’s too late”
Your heart gives an uncomfortable squeeze for a beat as the song ends. There is a tense moment before the next song begins where you notice Billy's pulse under your fingertips. You don’t know why you're squeezing Billy’s wrist so tightly. You slowly uncurl your fingers, sitting back in your seat. The lyrics bounce around in your mind as you sit there. Billy finally cuts the engine, ending the music as well.
“You okay?” Billy finally asks, lifting a brow. You nod.
“Yea, it’s just weird. How something can sound so loud and angry but under it all it’s actually really sad.” You explain. “Like a cry for help.” Billy’s lips quirk up slightly.
“Maybe that’s what they were going for?” He says. “Music is just another way to tell a story. I’m surprised you’re not more into it.” He tells you, moving to exit the car. “If you thought that was good I’ll have to show you some Bon Jovi.” He goes on as you follow him out of the car and up the steps towards the house. “I’m assuming you have no idea who that is.” Billy says with a smirk.
“Yea yea, save it. Max already thinks I’ve been living under a rock for the past 17 years.” You reply with an eye roll. Billy huffs a laugh.
“That little shit wouldn’t know dick about music if it weren’t for me.” He says, pulling out his keys. His words are harsh but there is no heat to them.
“Well this is a first.” You quip as he unlocks and opens the front door, stepping to the side to let you enter first. “A whole different experience than coming in though the window.” You joke, stepping into the house.
“We can always go around back if you’d feel more comfortable.” He jokes back, following you in. You take a moment to really look around as Billy closes and bolts the door behind you. You’ve never been in this part of the house, only glimpsing at it through windows. It’s not a large space and it’s clear that 4 people occupy the small domicile. Bits and pieces of everyones lives are scattered around.
“I think I’m good.” You reply. You notice that there is a clear clash in interior design through the house. The free weights contrast with the decorative rug under them. Beer cans stacked next to decorative shell decor on the mantle. Someone had tried to make this house a home, but there was something off. It felt like two personalities were struggling to mesh into a comfortable middle, it was unstable, chaotic.
Billy moves around you to lead you deeper into the house but before you can move any further Max’s voice calls from her room.
“Billy, I need to go to the arcade! Where did you-oh.” She stops short seeing you in the living room. For some reason it feels like you’ve been caught doing something you shouldn’t, a pit of anxiety taking root in your stomach.
“Hey Max.” You greet, giving her a half wave. She just watches you skeptically. Her narrowed eyes dart between you and Billy.
“What’s your malfunction?” Billy snaps after the silence lasts a moment longer than is comfortable.
“Are you two dating?” Max asks bluntly.
“What?!” Both you and Billy ask in unison. You share a confused glance before turning back to Max. Your face heats exponentially.
“Mind your own business you little shit.” Billy bites at the same time you try to explain.
“He’s tutoring me in history.” A smirk, eerily similar to Billy’s, spreads across Max’s face.
“Is that what they call it these days?” She asks, crossing her arms and leaning against the wall, a taunting lift in her brow.
“If you want a ride, I would shut the hell up.” Billy says sternly, narrowing his eyes at the redhead.
“Jeez, learn how to take a joke.” Max huffs with an exaggerated roll of her eyes. She ducks back into her room, leaving you and Billy in the living room. Billy just shakes his head, clenching his jaw as he heads for his room.
“I swear if her attitude gets any worse Neil is going to lose his shit.” He mumbles, pushing his hair back from his forehead. “Be ready in 20 minutes!” He yells after her. The only confirmation that she heard him comes in the form of a dramatic groan.
“That’s how all kids are at that age. I was so argumentative my mom and I didn’t have a pleasant interaction for weeks at a time, and don’t get me started on Hopper. I’m pretty sure I took years off his life with my attitude.” You chuckle fondly at the memory of your painful growing years.
“Sometimes being a kid isn’t a good enough excuse.” Billy replies calmly. Your stomach twists uncomfortably remembering how Neil had looked at his own son that night not so long ago.
“Neil and Susan are in Indianapolis Christmas shopping, so I’m playing chauffeur for the day.” Billy explains, entering his room and heading straight for the bed, flopping down on it.
“I don’t mind helping watch her.” You offer without much thought. You hover in the doorway, suddenly nervous about being in his room alone with him. It’s not like you had never been in his room alone before, you spent many nights sitting across from him on the bed pouring over history lessons, keeping your voices low to not wake anyone else in the house. But something about being here in the daylight, not sneaking around, it makes your stomach swirl. You glance around, his room looks the same as it always does. Bed half made, cigarette butts stamped out in the ashtray next to the cassettes on the nightstand. You do notice that there is now a small dent in the wall next to the mirror, but you can’t be sure that it wasn’t always there.
“Neil would kick my ass if he knew I pawned my responsibility off on you.” Billy explains, propping himself up on his elbow to see you. You absentmindedly skim your fingers over the outside of the doorframe.
“It’s not ‘pawning’ them off on me. We would do it together.” You reason with him. Your fingers catch on something cold and metal on the outside of the doorframe. Leaning back to glance at what you’re touching you see the latch of a lock. Glancing at the outer side of the door you see the other half of the latch. Something cold prickles down your spine.
This isn’t just a teenager wanting privacy, the way this latch is set up, it would function to lock the door from the outside. Why would anyone need that? Your mind struggles to make sense of it.
“He wouldn’t see it that way.” He tells you flatly.
“Then don’t tell him.” You say simply, stepping fully into the room. “I’ll help you out today and I’ll be gone by the time they get home. “ you explain, sitting gently on the edge of the bed next to his legs. “Just like when we painted the porch.” You remind him. You watch something dance behind his eyes at the memory from this summer that feels like a hundred years ago. “Consider it part of my tutoring payment. I know the food isn’t a fair trade.” You insist. When he finally nods, giving in, you have to smile.
“Fine. But only because the idea of dealing with a prepubescent she-devil by myself makes me want to stick needles in my brain… and leaving her alone is not an option.” He tells you, sitting up next to you. His thigh presses against yours, and the proximity sends sparks over your nerves.
Remembering the promise you made yourself before leaving home you try to scoot away to put some distance between your bodies. Billy notices the movement immediately.
“Oh sorry, am I making you nervous?” He asks, leaning in even closer, one of his arms going behind your back. He’s not touching you, but he’s close enough that you can feel him if you lean back even slightly. You struggle to hold his gaze.
“No.” You say simply, not trusting your voice to say more without shaking.
“You sure?” He asks, lifting a brow. You feel him lean in even closer, you swear you can feel the heat coming off of him. You force yourself to hold his gaze and remain still, fighting the urge to pull away. Like a game of personal space chicken.
“I’m fine.” You practically whisper, your voice sounding too loud with how close he is. When he chuckles you can feel the warmth of his breath against your cheek. His eyes shift between yours. You can see the flecks of green in his sky blue iris. Your breath mingles with his and you smell his last cigarette mixed with spearmint gum. You swallow thickly, gritting your teeth together in defiance.
“You can tell me if you’re not.” Billy insists, his voice just as soft. He’s flirting but you can hear the seriousness laced in his tone. He’s making sure you know he’ll stop, if you ask. Something about that knowledge eases the panic in you. Shifting slightly you tilt your chin up, watching him the way he always looks at you.
“I’m okay.” You say more confidently. You see his adams apple bob as he swallows, his eyes seeming to darken. His gaze flickers to your parted lips so quickly you think you imagined it. Your mouth suddenly goes dry, your stomach flipping at the memory of what his lips felt like against you-
“Right, that’s what ‘not dating’ looks like.” Max’s voice calls loudly from the doorway. You feel like a bucket of ice water has just been poured over your head as you pull away from Billy. Embarrassment floods through you as Billy leaps from the bed lunging towards the door.
“Fuck off!” He yells, slamming the door closed.
“I still need a ride!” Max yells from outside the door, pounding on it for emphasis. Billy’s shoulders are tense as he stands with his back to you, his arms braced against the door. You see him take a deep breath, then another, bowing his head as he lowers his arms, slightly adjusting the waistband of his jeans.
“You sure you want in on this shit show?” He asks, turning to lean back against the door. Max pounds on the door again, shaking its frame. You manage a dry laugh, trying to shove all the mortifying shame you feel into the back of your mind.
“Oh this is nothing. Try telling Mike Wheeler a campaign needs to end early. Kid turns into a gremlin.” You tell him, pushing yourself off the bed. Billy lifts a brow.
“I’m more surprised that you know what a gremlin is.” He admits teasingly. You roll your eyes.
“I do have a life outside of this room you know.” You tell him. You won’t admit that the only reason you know the plot of gremlins is because Steve insisted on catching you up on all the big hits you had missed while you were in the hospital, not that you had actually seen it in theaters.
Billy watches you approach with a healthy dose of skepticism.
“Come on Hargrove, put on a brave face. I hear they can smell fear.” You joke, clapping a hand on his shoulder.
“I’m going to be late!” Max yells, pounding harder.
“Be my guest Loca, I always knew you had a death wish.” Billy says with a smirk. Your heart pounds at the memory of your first meeting. It feels like a million years ago, like you were an entirely different person, and looking at Billy’s confident smirk, the teasing glint in his eyes, you wonder if he’s a different person now too.
Without another word, Billy whips open the door to reveal a very agitated Max.
“Finally!” She exclaims, turning on her heel striding towards the front door, her bag already slung over her shoulder. Billy shoots you a look over his shoulder before following after her.
“Hey, Max?” You call, slipping in front of Billy to catch up to her. She only glances at you, still heading for the door. “Do you mind if I tag along to the arcade?” You ask. Your words cause her to halt, turning to face you with the full force of her scrutinizing glare. You feel Billy come to a stop behind you, her eyes dart to him before returning to you.
“Did he ask you to babysit me?” She asks indignantly.
“No!” You say, throwing your hands up. “I just thought you could teach me some stuff. I’m not very good and I hear you kick the boys' butts on a regular basis.” You explain, hoping it comes off as genuine. She studies you for another beat, seeming to weigh the pros and cons of allowing you to come with her. Finally, she shrugs.
“Fine. But don’t try to talk to me while I’m playing. It throws me off.” She instructs, turning for the door. When her back is turned you quickly give Billy an enthusiastic thumbs up, earning another eye roll.
The three of you climb into the car, Billy turning the volume up to his usual bone shaking level as he whips out of his spot, speeding down the road. It’s a short ride into town, especially with how Billy drives. When he comes to a stop outside the arcade you climb out, pulling the seat forward to allow Max out.
“I’ll meet you in there.” you tell her. Needing no explanation, Max jogs to the doors slipping into the dimly lit building. You can see the boys' bikes already lined up outside. “You coming?” you ask Billy, leaning back into the car.
“Hell no. I can babysit just fine from here. You couldn’t pay me to go into that dork pit.” He scoffs. You roll your eyes at his stubbornness.
“Oh come on, tough guy. Where is your sense of adventure and whimsy.” you ask, only receiving an unimpressed look in return.
“Whimsy?” He asks, his lip curling at the word.
“I’ll buy you a coke.” you offer, hoping that bribery will soften his resolve. Billy’s lips press into a firm line, you can see his jaw tick as he grinds his teeth.
“Fine.” he says after a moment. “But I have to run an errand real quick.” He tells you. Thinking this is some kind of trick to get out of coming in, you narrow your eyes.
“You promise to come in when you get back?” you ask, extending your pinky to him. He lifts a brow, a dry laugh escaping him.
“What are you 12?” He asks. When you don’t show any signs of joking he heaves a sigh, linking his pinky with yours. “Fine, yes. I promise I’ll come back and watch you be terrible at dig dug, dork.” He promises with a teasing smirk.
“Good.” you smile, letting his pinky go and stepping back. “And I’m not that bad.” you clarify, closing the door and allowing him to pull away from the curb.
It turns out that you ARE that bad.
Max allows you to take the first turn, even offering you pointers, but by the end of your third turn she takes over explaining that she can’t stand watching you throw away quarters like that. You’re a sorry excuse for a gamer, your brain having trouble communicating quickly enough with your hands on the controls. It’s alright though, you have more fun watching Max and the boys take turns trying to beat each other's scores.
The longer you observe the group of adolescents the more you note the change in dynamic among them. Max and Lucus are openly interested in each other but don’t seem to know how to navigate this new realm of relationship. Mike appears distracted, constantly glancing at his watch. You assume he’s anxious to see El. You know that Hopper has started allowing the two to hang out at the cabin and though you’ve pushed for El to have more social time, Hopper's old habits die hard. His paranoia is persistent. You can’t say that you don’t understand where he’s coming from.
Dustin and Will seem more irritated than anything with the new shift in priorities within the group.
After roughly 30 minutes of watching Max wipe the floor with the boys scores, you venture to the opposite side of the arcade. You want to give the group space but also stay close enough to keep an eye on them. You scan the games, searching for one that you can play without too much instruction. Ms. Pac-Man seems to be simple enough, and it’s located in a spot that allows you to watch your group bounce from game to game.
Inserting your first quarter you begin the game. You’re able to keep up at first, but when the ghosts start to speed up you can't seem to evade them quick enough. After your 4th quarter your pride is stinging.
“Fuck…” you curse to yourself as once again you are cornered by the little red ghost. Before you can insert another quarter, you feel someone approaching from your left, coming too close to just be passing by, tensing your hand itches to lash out but you stop yourself when you realize who it is.
“Hey.” Keiths’ monotone voice greets you. You know him from school, and to your knowledge the two of you had never actually spoken to each other.
“Hi Keith.” you reply politely. You aren’t sure why he’s approaching you. You know that he works here so possibly you were doing something wrong. “What’s up?” you ask. Kieth seems to swallow past something in his struggle to speak.
“I see you around sometimes.” he tells you, unable to meet your eyes. You don’t know what to say to that.
“Yea, I babysit so I come in to keep an eye on my kids sometimes.” you tell him.
“That’s cool.” he mumbles “You know I could help you with some of the games if you want. Are you alone today?” He asks. You know he doesn't mean for it to sound as creepy as it does but you can’t help your slight cringe.
“No, I’m actually with-” you move to gesture towards Max but are cut off when Billy appears next to you, casually draping an arm over your shoulders.
“Me.” He finishes for you, keeping his eyes on Keith who looks like a deer caught in headlights.
“O-oh, cool.” Keith manages to mumble, taking a step back. “Nevermind then” he manages to get out, obviously resisting the urge to turn and run. Understandable with the way Billy is glaring daggers at him.
“I’ll see you around.” you offer Keith a kind smile. He only nods sheepishly before retreating further into the arcade. Sighing, you swat at Billy’s side, causing him to drop his arm from your shoulder with a chuckle.
“What was that for?” he asks, doing his best to look genuinely confused. You see right through it to the self satisfaction he's really feeling.
“Did you have to mad dog him? He was just saying ‘Hi’.” you tell him. Billy scoffs, moving to lean against the game.
“Yea, right.” He says, sarcasm dripping from every word. “You didn’t see how he’s been eyeing you, trying to work up the courage to come ‘say hi’.” he tells you, throwing air quotes around your words.
“And how long were you watching that?” You ask, crossing your arms over your chest. Billy shakes his head, his curls falling across his forehead.
“You’re missing the point.” He tells you, deflecting the question.
“What point is that?” You ask, shaking your head as you dig a quarter out of your pocket and lean over to place it into the game. When you straighten up Billy has taken a step into your space. You could take a step back to give yourself some room, but you don't. You stand your ground, tilting your head up to meet his stare head on.
“The point is that you’re playing a game you don’t know the rules of and guys like that-” he jerks his chin in the direction Keith had run off. “Will take advantage of that.” he tells you, his voice low. You know he’s too close. That you should take a step back. That the way he’s looking down at you is too personal. That either one of you could close the distance between you with a breath.
“I’m not really good at games.” you admit, feeling the heat rushing to your face. Still you can’t seem to look away. Billy’s sharp gaze seems to soften slightly at your admission.
“I know…” He says softly, his eyes shifting between yours. “I just watched you die 4 times and not even make it past the first level of Pac-man.” He says, his teasing smirk overtaking all the gentleness that had once been in his eyes. Finally, you pull back shocked.
“You stalker!” you accuse, Billy just chuckles turning to face the game. “And I was multitasking.” you try to defend your abysmal performance, gesturing to the group now huddled around galaga.
“Sure, sure. Let me show you how it’s done.” he says confidently, starting the queued up game.
“Hey! That was my quarter!” You protest. Billy only chuckles again.
“I’ll get the next one, crazy.” he tells you, keeping his eyes fixed on the screen.

Angel -Jude Bellingham
|WARNINGS: none |AUTHOR'S NOTE:I'm loving this fanfic😭 Previous part |SUMMARY:How could you know that a stupid nickname could change everything?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You couldn’t stop thinking about the date, which wasn’t really a date actually. That word never escaped his lips and you knew that this was just a casual meeting with your best friend, that’s all.You spent the whole day thinking about a good outfit, which wasn’t easy, of course.
You didn’t want to appear too elegant but also not too much casual,so you decided for a mini skirt and an embroidered black top, your favorite heels that weren’t too high, you weren’t a really tall girl, just right in the middle, but a pair of heels wouldn’t hurt anyone, he would still be higher than you;you then thought about wavy hair and some makeup. You then added the right amount of jewelry and surely you couldn’t forget your favorite perfume, now you’re finally ready and a texts lets your phone vibrate.
Jude:You ready?I’m here
You felt your heart racing and your cheeks becoming hotter, it’s just a normal date, right?
:Yes i’ll be out there in a second
You gave yourself a last look at the mirror and you felt a sense of joy and butterflies in your stomach. You didn’t care if it was a date or not, you only wanted to be with him honestly.
As you slid into Jude's car, the radio pulsed with the rhythm of "Eyes Without a Face." The haunting melody, with its lyrics about a love unseen, seemed to echo the unspoken desires swirling between you. You stole a glance at Jude, finding him already looking at you, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips.
"So," he finally spoke, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down your spine, "where would you like to go, Angel?"
The nickname, a relic of your childhood, brought a warmth to your cheeks. "There's this great little jazz bar downtown," you suggested, surprised at your own boldness. "They have live music and amazing food."
A slow smile, genuine and heart-stopping, spread across Jude's face. "Perfect. I know just the place."
The drive was a whirlwind of comfortable silences punctuated by playful banter. You told him about your favorite childhood prank, and he countered with a story about a disastrous attempt to impress a girl with his soccer skills. When he chuckled at your teasing about his youthful clumsiness, a playful glint lit up his eyes.
"You know," he said, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper, "you could have saved me a lot of trouble back then if you'd just let me impress you instead."
You scoffed, but a blush crept up your neck. "Impress me? With what, tripping over your own shoelaces?"
He feigned offense, clutching his chest dramatically. "Hey! Those were some fancy footwork maneuvers gone wrong."
By the time you pulled up to the jazz bar, tucked away on a quiet side street, laughter lines had etched themselves around your eyes. The smoky intimacy of the place, with its thrumming melody and warm candlelight, felt like stepping into a bygone era.
The hostess, a woman with a knowing smile and a mane of silver hair, greeted Jude by name. "Jude! Good to see you again. We've saved you a booth in the back."
He winked at you, a silent promise of a private corner. The booth, nestled against a brick wall adorned with photographs of jazz legends, was bathed in a warm glow. You settled in, feeling an electricity crackle in the air.
The menu, presented on a worn leather-bound cover, promised a delectable array of dishes. As you debated your options, you caught Jude stealing glances at your outfit.
"That top is amazing," he said, his voice a low murmur. "The embroidery is beautiful."
You felt a blush creep up your neck again. "Thanks," you mumbled, tucking a stray strand of hair behind your ear. "Actually, my mom gave it to me."
He raised an eyebrow playfully. "Your mom has impeccable taste. See, even without shoelaces, I manage to impress sometimes."
With every playful jab and shared secret, the tension between you crackled. It was a tension that mirrored the song playing softly in the background, a song that spoke of love and longing, a perfect reflection of your own unspoken feelings.
When dessert arrived, a decadent chocolate mousse that Jude insisted you share with him, a playful tug-of-war ensued over the spoon. Laughter filled the air as you both ended up with chocolate smeared on your smiles.
"Gotcha," Jude chuckled, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
You swiped a bit of chocolate from his cheek with your thumb, savoring the warmth of his touch. "Seems like the only one getting impressed tonight is me, Mr. Soccer Star."
A playful glint lit up Jude's eyes as he leaned in, his voice dropping to a husky whisper that sent shivers down your spine. "Well, Angel," he murmured, "consider this round one. There's plenty of time for you to get even more impressed later."
The heat in his gaze flustered you, and you quickly looked down at the lingering chocolate on your fingers. You knew you should probably steer the conversation back to safe territory, but the playful banter felt exhilarating, a stark contrast to the nervous energy that had simmered between you earlier.
Just then, the melody shifted, the smoky saxophone giving way to a sultry female vocalist. The lyrics, filled with promises of forever and declarations of burning love, hung heavy in the air. You stole a glance at Jude, wondering if the song mirrored the unspoken emotions swirling within him too.
"This song reminds me of something," he said, his voice a low rumble.
A nervous flutter took flight in your stomach. "Oh yeah? What's that?"
He leaned back in the booth, a thoughtful expression on his face. "There was this girl, back when we were just kids, who used to climb trees and get stuck. The same girl who'd get mad at her brother for calling her Angel."
His words sent a jolt through you. A playful smile tugged at the corner of your lips. "Sounds like someone has a good memory."
"The best," he replied, his gaze locking with yours. "Especially the memory of how brave she was, and kind, and beautiful..." He paused, his voice trailing off, leaving the rest unspoken.
The air crackled with unspoken tension, the weight of his words hanging heavy between you. You felt your cheeks burning under his intense gaze. Was he confessing his childhood feelings for you? Or was he simply reminiscing?
Before you could voice the question that burned on your tongue, the music swelled, drowning out any further conversation. The vocalist launched into a powerful rendition of a classic love ballad, its lyrics echoing the yearning in your own heart.
Jude reached across the table, his fingers brushing against yours. A spark shot through you as your eyes met. In that silent moment, a million unspoken emotions hung in the air. The playful banter, the stolen glances, the lingering touches - it all seemed to culminate in this single, electrifying moment.
With a hesitant smile, Jude squeezed your hand gently. "Dance with me, Angel?" he asked, his voice a soft murmur.
Your heart pounded a frantic rhythm against your ribs. This wasn't how you imagined the night would end, but a thrilling anticipation bubbled within you. You couldn't deny the pull you felt towards him, a connection that transcended years of friendship.
With a shy smile, you nodded, allowing him to lead you to the small dance floor tucked away in a corner of the bar. The intimacy of the space, coupled with the soulful melody filling the air, created a bubble around you two.
Jude held you close, his hand resting possessively on your lower back. You could feel the warmth of his body against yours, his cologne sending a familiar scent swirling around you. As you swayed to the music, a comfortable silence settled between you, a comfortable silence that spoke volumes.
The song ended all too soon, the applause of the other patrons breaking the spell. Yet, as you looked into Jude's eyes, you saw a reflection of the same yearning you felt burning within you.
The late-night jazz bar felt a world away now, replaced by the soft glow of the city lights filtering through the car windows. Jude navigated the familiar streets with practiced ease, a comfortable silence settling between you.
The unspoken tension in the air thrummed with a different kind of energy now – a hopeful anticipation for what might lie ahead. You stole a glance at Jude, his profile illuminated by the passing streetlights. His lips were curved in a thoughtful smile, and you couldn't help but wonder if it mirrored the one playing on your own lips.
As he pulled up in front of your apartment building, a pang of disappointment shot through you. The night had flown by, and the thought of saying goodbye so soon felt unbearable.
Taking a deep breath, you turned to him, your voice barely a whisper.
"Would you like to come in?" you blurted out, surprised by your own boldness.
His eyes widened in surprise, then a slow smile spread across his face. "I'd like that very much, angel."

Sun Bleached Flies
If it’s meant to be, then it will be’
Old man!Logan Howlett x Fem!reader Summary: After meeting in a dive bar you both pursue a relationship, where Logan makes the promise to return to you always.
A/n: Written and edited by delusional me at 12 am whilst listening to Ethel Cain, so don’t expect perfection. This is also my first Logan fic so if he’s OOC I apologise.
Warnings: Nothing sexual is explicit but is implied, angst with a sprinkle of comfort(?), major character death. (I love hurting my feelings so now I’m gonna hurt yours).
Words: 1065
Tumblr media
You met him in a dive bar.
The air thick with the tang of sweaty bodies and music far too loud, as you took a seat at the bar next to a man with a tousled suit and grey hair, nursing a whiskey in one hand. A form of him you’ve far gotten use to since then.
“Why so dressed up for a dive bar?” You chortled at the man beside you. The question sounded hypocritical coming from you, considering you sat there in a velvet dress.
“Could ask you the same thing,” he quipped in response, quirking a brow in your direction.
“Well I got stood up, your turn.” You steered the conversation from awkward silence. A part of you was intrigued by the man, the other attracted if you were to be honest with yourself.
“My limo nearly got robbed.”
There was a pause as you processed his words.
“What are you some sort of driver?”
“Exactly.”
You come to learn his name is Logan. Seeing him consistently in that shitty dive bar. You’ve gotten use to his presence, and begin to crave it after a heated night spent in the back of that damn limo.
That carving is dangerous, Logan warned you. Saying that he wasn’t a good man. But he made no effort to push you away, and he indulged you each time you met up. He was too old and had loss to many to care.
Meetings in a bar turned to a familiar black limo appearing in your driveway. You welcomed Logan no matter what state he was in. Spending nights washing away blood and sin, kissing it better with untainted lips. Cause’ there’s no other place you’d rather be than with him.
“Wouldn’t you rather anyone else, than a man like me?” Logan spoke one night as he sat at the end of your bed, you stood between his legs with a wet cloth in hand; cleaning dried blood.
The methodic movement of cloth on skin halted suddenly.
“No, not at all. I like you the way you are. Although you could cut down on the drinking.” You said confidently, going back to cleaning his wounds. Logan admired the way you spoke with such certainty, speaking like it was the most obvious thing in the world that you liked him exactly how he is.
“You can try doll, but I don’t think I could stop if it tried.” Logan chuckled at his joke, a grin across his face has he stared up at you. For a second you saw a flicker of love in his eyes.
Logan wasn’t a religious man by any means. If he knew anything; god was both cruel and merciful for putting such a pure thing in the hands of an old bastard like him. Even when he had to slip out of your bed in the morning, wracked with guilt for leaving so soon; he kissed your forehead like a silent prayer and a promise of coming back for you. Because he wouldn’t let god rip this away from him, he was a bastard but not stupid.
“Logan?” You roused from your sleep, watching as his broad figure stood in the doorway.
“Sorry for waking you darlin’.”
“Leaving so soon?” You whined softly, a dread settling in your heart like every other time he left.
“Got work to do, but I’ll be back.”
“Promise?”
Logan sighed and you knew he was rolling his eyes. “Promise.”
And he kept that promise but this time his arrival was different, marked by a blue ram in the drive, a girl introduced as Laura and an old man sitting in a wheel chair called Charles on your porch.
You bout’ near came out the door with a shotgun at the new vehicle until recognising that familiar silhouette of the man you love.
You greeted Logan with a hug. “Jesus you scared me,” you muttered into his neck.
“I know I’m sorry-“ Logan uttered an apology back before being cut off.
“So this is who you’ve been running off to every few days.” Charles jested, grinning widely at your stunned expression.
“Don’t mind him,” Logan waved Charles off. “Uh this is Laura.” Logan quickly introduced his new travelling partner, a young brunette girl.
You nodded slowly, still utterly shocked from the whole ordeal. “Logan, you really gotta’ explain.”
“Right ofcourse,” he nervously looked over his shoulder. Logan was highly-strung you knew that, but he seemed even more on edge than normal. “Can we come in first?”
Logan explains the entirety of his situation, while Charles and Laura eat some leftovers you prepared for them. “We’ll be out of here in the morning, can’t stay in one place for too long.” Logan finishes his explanation off. You sit in astonished silence for a couple beats. A million questions in your head but not a voice to ask them. “Okay, I’ll set up the guest room.” You stand up promptly and make an exit. Logan has an urge to reach out for you, pull you into his arms; whisper sweet nothings and how everything will be okay. But he doesn’t, he can’t, he won’t lie to you.
Later that night, Logan is leant against the guest bedroom door frame. Watching as you read Laura a story to get her to sleep, a pang of hope twists in his gut as he realises what he’s looking at is a glimpse into the possible future. Of what could be, a family.
And when you’re tangle in each other’s limbs; skin to skin. The entire house quiet. Logan confesses this to you, the first time in a long time he’s felt hope.
Once morning arrives you’re wrecked with worry, a terrible feeling settles within you. This doesn’t feel right. You’d beg Logan to stay, but he can’t, if you begged to come he wouldn’t let you. So you put every ounce of everything you’ve ever felt into a passionate kiss. Cupping his cheeks tenderly and moulding your lips to his. The tip of his tongue tastes of calamity, but you chase the feel of it because you know no matter what; the two of you are doomed.
“I’ll be back, promise.” Logan lies through his teeth, wincing at his own words. But he’ll lie just this once, now that he’s tried hope he never wants you to lose yours.
He never did keep this promise.

I couldn’t get enough of Drunk Az being all baby and clingy with his mate … plzz write something about this 😭❤️
This is slightly suggestive but there's no full smut here. Also, I am in desperate need for Azriel after this.
One horny mate
Oh, he so rarely lets go fully. Azriel loves being in control too much to let a silly thing like alcohol take over his senses. Make him clumsy, awfully unaware of his surroundings. Not to mention that he keeps his feelings close to his chest and alcohol, as tested on Cassian multiple times, made one say things that absolutely shouldn't see the daylight.
So when he's ordered his fifth drink of the night, you can't help but raise an eyebrow. The past couple of weeks have been hectic. Azriel barely functioned. All he did was work and sleep. Sleep if work wasn't keeping him up and that was rare. And now that everything was sorted. Taken care of. You couldn't blame him for wanting to take the edge off.
Azriel's arm was loosely draped over your shoulders for the majority of the night. But now you gazed at him from the bar and oh the thought were far from pure. His black button-up was rather open against his chest. The sleeves were messily rolled to his elbows. Legs slightly parted as he nursed a glass of whiskey in one of his of his hands. Mother, was he a sight for sore eyes when he was like this. If not for the slight ache between your legs - a little gift from Azriel before you had entered Rita's. You would probably be dragging him to the closest pleasure room so you could sink to your knees in front of him.
"You're brooding, my love", you purr through the loud music as you make your way back to your mate. His hand instantly moves to rest on your lower back more like your bum but you don't say anything about that. "Yet, you love it. Gets you going doesn't it?", he says, so casually that you can't help but gasp. "Rude of you to go through my head",' you gasp, moving to sit down on Azriel's lap. "You weren't complaining about that when I...", he starts but you quickly put your finger to his lips. Azriel stills, before he's throwing his head back with a laugh. A teasing smirk on his lips.
He leans in pressing a tender kiss behind your ear, before leaving a couple more kisses down your neck. "You smell really good today", he hums against your skin. "Oh, so I usually stink?", you snicker, moving your fingers to comb through Azriel's messy curls. "I did not say that. You just smell exceptionally good tonight. New perfume?", he continues to nibble at your skin. Hand squeezing your hips. "Mhm...", you purr, "It's called one horny mate", you tease him, making Azriel pull his gaze back to your eyes, smirking.
"You think you're funny?", he asks you, drink long forgotten as his hand kneads your thighs. Fingers brushing way beneath your dress. "I think I'm hilarious, sweetie", you beam at him. Squeezing his cheeks as you pull him closer to your lips. It's rather messy. Eager and wild. To the point where your teethes are clacking together, but Azriel's palm is cradling the back of your neck as he deepens the make out sensation even more.
You're brushing your red lipstick off him once you two pull apart. Just now Azriel is leaning closer to you. Head on your shoulder as he nuzzles closer. "I wish I could lay on your breasts", he whines. His hand brushed the cup of your dress. "Azriel", you hiss before laughing, "You're turning into a baby". But the shadow singer only hums, "Your baby, though". You just shake your head, letting him nuzzle onto you. Going back to brushing your fingers through his hair. After a moment of silence Azriel says, "Can I at least hold your bum if the breast is unavailable, not that you usually complain about it. Cause I do it a lot. Don't I? To...", but you just take his hand resting it on your butt, earning a light squeeze almost immediately. "Happy?", you ask, "Sure, as hell not complaining", Azriel mutters.

The sun to me
Chapter IV. The sprout.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: hwang hyunjin x afab!reader
word count: 3.5k
chapter summary: between the gentle stillness of the flowers, a seed is planted to make love grow.
warnings: hyunjin's parents are shitty people here
~ Masterlist for the series
~ next part
💜 Petunia - wanting the comfort of another person (a token of kindness to new neighbors or friends).
Hyunjin awakens even earlier than the sun that morning, quickly getting ready to leave the house before anything can disturb the comforting silence dancing around him.
He takes his camera and stands in front of his suitcase, the only things he didn't unpack are the tools he needs for painting.
He sighs, grabbing a sketchbook, his pencil case and his paintbrushes with only a few colors he'd need to paint the sunrise on a beach.
He stuffs everything in his backpack and makes his way downstairs as quietly as he could, the creaky stairs making it difficult to be invisible.
After breakfast and a good dose of caffeine, Hyunjin makes his way out of Isaac's house.
The sun isn't even properly out yet and it's eerily quiet around him, even more so than it was when he'd first arrived to the island. Usually, he would drown out the silence with music in his ears, but for some reason he feels that any kind of sound right now would disturb the whole world order.
He's even trying to walk as quietly as he can, like a cat stalking the street, not making a sound.
As he arrives closer to the pier, a figure appears scrunched over and sitting down, turned towards the sea. He can't see much of the person, just that they are buff and wearing a black windbreaker jacket, the hood pulled up over their head.
As he walks slowly towards them, in the slight darkness, he makes out that the person is fishing.
They roll their shoulders slowly for a moment before the fishing rod gets tugged on and the man grips the reel handle, fighting with the creature on the other side.
He manages to reel it in just as Hyunjin approaches him, watching in awe as the man takes out a fish and it lands on the ground with a splat, scaring Hyunjin as it wiggles around, hitting the floor with its tail in a desperate attempt to breathe.
The man mutters something before grabbing it and looking up at Hyunjin, letting out a hearty laugh.
"Careful, it bites!"- he jokes, waving the fish towards Hyunjin making him jolt again before he throws it into a bucket.
"Sorry, didn't mean to disturb you."- Hyunjin clears his throat as he speaks for the first time that morning. Feeling awkward, he decides it's best to leave the strange man alone.
Before he's able to walk away, the man's voice stops him.
"You're that boy staying at Isaac's house?"- he asks.
Hyunjin turns and looks at the man, who has now pulled down his hood, revealing luscious black hair, making him look ten years younger than when only his worn out face was visible.
"Yes."- Hyunjin nods.
"Name's Delmar. Tell Isaac I have some catch for him. And if he or you for that matter wanna join me in my fishing adventures, you're more than welcome to."- the man smiles kindly, putting Hyunjin at ease after the whole fish in the face ordeal.
"Sure, I'll let you know."
"What's your name, kid?"
"Hyunjin."
"Nice to meet you, Hyunjin. Make sure you take some pretty pictures of our little island."- Delmar winks, pointing at the camera resting on Hyunjin's chest.
He promises to do so before bidding his goodbye to Delmar.
Hyunjin walks away towards the little forest you took him through, the sun starting to peak between the leaves of low bushes.
He shakes his head, thinking about the somewhat strange man he just met on the pier.
Lost in his thoughts, he arrives to the hidden cove before he knows it, almost like he got transported there.
He strolls on the beach before finding a nice spot as the sun keeps rising in the sky, slowly waking everything up, bathing it in it's glow.
He takes a few pictures for good measure before willing himself to take his sketchbook out.
He sits down, pencil in hand as he listens to the waves and his own breathing, quiet and slow, a contrast to the waves crashing on the rocks near him.
Hyunjin starts to sketch and remembers.
"Let's see."- his mother hovers above him, as he lowers his hand from the easel, still clutching onto the paintbrush dipped in red.
"Is it okay now?"- he asks in a small voice, tear stains on his puffy cheeks.
"No, it is not! You think this crap will get you into the academy? That's laughable. Can you do one thing right? Are you even my son? I swear it's like I found you on the fucking street or something. Start again."- his mother's voice is low but dripping with venom as she takes another sip of her martini, and Hyunjin hiccups as she throws the canvas to the floor.
"You're not getting up until you do it right even if it takes you all night."
Hyunjin remembers painting all night with eyes blurry from his tears, a constant onslaught of salty water dripping down his cheeks and into his lap, mixing with the paints he held in his hand, transferred onto the canvas his heart bled on.
He remembers wanting nothing but her comfort and warmth, but her hands were always cold, her veins must've had ice in them, freezing her all the way to her heart.
He remembers his mother picking apart every little detail of every painting he ever made, driving him away from her so far that when he grew up, he screamed at her and told her never to come to his gallery.
She cried, but he felt nothing. Just like she didn't feel anything when she stood above him and tortured him for hours, days, years, almost making him hate the one thing he found love in.
The paintings he made furtively were the only thing helping him cope with her wrath and his father's disinterest, the flowers he painted, the ones that were so delicate and gentle, so quiet and peaceful, so pretty and intoxicating, so easy to love.
The flowers you nurtured with your hands and your chest so devotedly that the roots have intertwined with your very heart so much so that it became a beating, live flower.
Hyunjin finds it hard to breathe suddenly, like that fish on the ground, grasping for air and feeling foreign, suffocated and panicked. He grips the pencil, a tear sliding down his cheek and smearing the wave he was sketching a moment ago.
He closes the sketchbook with a thud and gets up quickly, shaking the sand off his jeans and packing his painting stuff away before he makes his way back from the cove, and away from the bad memories threatening to spill from his eyes.
Tumblr media
It might be weird to someone who watches from the side, but every time you water your potted plants around the house, you caress their little leaves.
You think they can feel the care and love coming from your heart and traveling through your fingers as you gently brush them against the plant.
You think they grow better if they feel a gentle touch. Maybe you can't embrace them like you would a person, but just a little brush of the fingertips translates to the same thing when it comes to something as delicate as flowers.
A knock sounds on your door and you snap out of your thoughts, a smile forming on your face because you know who it is.
You straighten your dress and check yourself in the mirror for a second before you make your way to the door and open it with an excited swing.
Hyunjin stands there, his head lifting up from staring at his feet as he clutches his backpack and smiles warmly at you.
"Good morning."- he says.
"Morning."- you answer, entranced by the way his eyes roam around your face shamelessly, curiously, genuinely like he's trying to rememeber every little detail that makes up the beautiful you.
"Are you gonna let me in?"- Hyunjin smiles playfully with a rise of his brows and your face warms up in embarassment.
"Right. Sorry."- you chuckle awkwardly and step aside so he can come in.
Hyunjin looks around, your house is just what he thought it would be, bright with pastel yellow details and walls, potted plants everywhere, little ceramic trinkets and of course paintings of flowers on the wall.
It's warm and cozy, smells like flowers and home, sweet and loving just like you are in his eyes.
Hyunjin finds himself inhaling deeply, and finally being able to take a proper breath in, his lungs expanding and freeing him from the suffocating feeling that thinking about his family brought him.
"Do you want some coffee or tea?"- you ask as he follows you to the kitchen and sets his backpack on a chair.
"Coffee would be fine, thank you."
"Sit, please. Relax."- you chuckle at him as he stands next to your table awkwardly.
"Sure."- Hyunjin nods, sitting down and leaning his head on his hand.
"Did you paint these?"- he asks and you turn around to follow his eyes, which were glued to the paintings hung on your wall.
"Yeah, I did, a few years ago."- you nod.
"I didn't know you were a painter too."- Hyunjin chuckles, his knuckles rasping against your wooden table.
"I'm not."- you wave your hand as if to dismiss him. "Not like you. I mostly sketch as you saw."- you add.
"Can I see more?"- Hyunjin feels excited suddenly.
Looking into an artist's sketchbook is like taking a peak into their mind and soul, it's like reading their thoughts but not through words, only through the movement of their pencil against the paper.
"Ugh, sure."- you bite on your lip, hoping you have some sketchbook without the diary parts in it. You don't want Hyunjin to read your embarassing and dark thoughts.
You rummage through one of your shelves and find an older one, maybe from three to four years ago and give it to him, before going back to preparing the coffee for the both of you.
Hyunjin feels like a kid unwraping a present on Christmas as he opens up your sketchbook.
The paper is older and looks recycled, feels good under his fingers and probably even better under a pencil.
He brushes his fingertips against it as he looks at your sketches.
It's mostly different types of flowers, some still life and hands. You seemed to practice drawing hands a lot. Hyunjin wonders about it.
"You like drawing hands? That's like the hardest."- Hyunjin says as you bring the coffee cups to the table and sit down.
"Oh."- you blush, forgetting about that part of the sketchbook. "It's my mother's hands."- you add and flip a few pages to show him the slow deterioration you captured in your sketches, how her hands went from young and soft to bony and thin, skin shriveled up and veins visible.
"Her hands were her most important tools. I just... I wanted to capture them in drawings."
"I understand."- Hyunjin nods. "These are really good sketches, y/n."
"Thanks."- you chuckle, picking up your cup.
After taking a sip of coffee, you look back at the sketchbook.
"She really loved flowers."
"More than you do?"- Hyunjin smiles as he looks up at you.
"Probably. She loved them more than she loved me."
Something pierces through Hyunjin's heart.
He knows how you feel as you smile sadly, his mother was probably even worse than yours, she never once said she loved him in his entire life.
Not once.
Hyunjin swallows the lump in his throat and you notice he's struggling with something.
"You okay?"- you ask, tilting your head at him. "Is my coffee that bad?"- you try to lighten the mood.
"No, no."- he chuckles. "Coffee is delicious, I was just lost in thought for a moment."
You nod, deciding to not pry anymore.
"Did you go somewhere this morning?"- you ask, pointing to his backpack.
"Oh, I did actually. I went to that hidden cove you showed me. I wanted to try and sketch. I- ugh- didn't manage to do much but I did meet Delmar."
"Ah, you met Delmar."- you snicker.
"He scared me with a fish."- Hyunjin says, shaking his head left and right dramatically.
You laugh a little, your hand coming up to cover your lips.
"Delmar jokes around a lot like that. But he's a harmless dude."- you say.
"Glad to know that because I was actually scared for a moment."
You chuckle again and Hyunjin feigns offence.
"Sorry, it's just that Delmar would never even step on a bug. He laughs all the time, there's no one chirpier than him. Well, except maybe Barbara."
"Barbara?"
"Oh yeah, she's the resident cat lady. She somehow knew about you coming here."- you purse your lips, tapping your chin with your finger.
"She did?"- Hyunjin's brows furrow. "Hm."
He may need to talk to Charlie about that.
The thought of his manager and the life waiting for him outside the island feels bitter on his tongue, even more bitter than the coffee he loves.
The bitterness wraps around his heart and squeezes.
"So, it would be fine to go fishing with Delmar sometime?"- Hyunjin asks after shaking his thoughts away.
"Definitely."- you nod. "You wanna come see my garden now?"- you ask after a moment of silence.
"Yes!"- Hyunjin nods excitedly and you stand up, leading him through the back door.
He doesn't know what exactly to expect when it comes to your garden, but the beauty of it still takes his breath away.
Hyunjin can see that every plant is so carefully planted in their designated spot, probably even sorted by species or something, he's not as good as you are with understanding all the different types of flowers but he can see that you put in all your effort and love.
He's speechless for a moment, the luscious garden gives a soothing feeling to his soul and a longing blooms inside his chest, a longing to be touched by hands as kind as yours.
"Can I take pictures?"- Hyunjin asks, almost breathless and you let out a delighted giggle, throwing your head back for a moment.
"Take as many as you want."- you nod and he quickly runs back into your house to grab his camera.
You watch as Hyunjin takes pictures, his face mesmerized, eyes sparkling and lips pulled into a small sweet smile.
His rosy cheeks make him look even more endearing, surrounded by all the flowers you helped grow makes your heart swell so much so that you want to reach out and wrap your arms around Hyunjin, hold him dear to your heart.
You've never felt something like that hit you so hard and sudden, usually it was gradual and slow, usually you thought with your mind not with your heart, especially when you liked someone. You would calculate the positives and negatives, you would pick the person apart, pick yourself apart in little details until every little thing looked like a negative, ultimately making you give up.
But as Hyunjin turns towards you and smiles wide, something pulls you in, and you can't even get yourself to form a single thought except the word happy.
"Y/n?"- Hyunjin is suddenly closer to you, waving his hand in front of your eyes.
"Ugh- yes?"- you chuckle a little, snapping out of your trance.
"You said you wanted us to plant something together?"- he asks curiously.
"Oh right, I thought you could help me out with my petunias and maybe learn a thing or two. You know, physically working when your mind is stuck can help get the creative juices flowing again. At least it's like that for me."- you say, leading Hyunjin towards an empty spot in your garden.
"I do agree with that."- he nods. "Though, I go to the gym when I feel stuck. I may even be beyond stuck now cause working out didn't help."- he chuckles awkwardly.
"Don't think about it too much. Let's just get to work."- you smile and Hyunjin smiles back as you give him a pair of gardening gloves.
"Alright, what's first?"- he asks.
"Have you ever done any gardening?"
"Never in my life."- he shakes his head.
"Okay so, first thing's first, you have to know a little bit about the flowers you're going to plant. I chose petunias because now is the perfect weather for them, there's enough daily sunlight and also because they're easy to care for, perfect for beginners. They will bloom soon when the summer comes too."- you explain and Hyunjin listens, all the while nodding his head, his brows furrowed in concentration.
"There are different types of petunias too. The ones I chose are floribunda petunias. They're a hybrid of two other types and I chose them because they make excellent cut flowers due to their large blooms and long stems. So, I can use them in my flower shop too!"- you finish with a wide smile and an excited clap.
"That is a lot of information but I'm happy you shared all that with me."- Hyunjin chuckles and you smirk.
"There will be a test later."- you wave your finger at him and he laughs.
"Okay now. The next important thing is to choose the location, which I already did. Petunias need at least six hours of direct sunlight during the day, so I chose this spot where we're standing right now."
"Okay."- Hyunjin nods, looking around. "What do we do first?"- he asks and you chuckle at his eagerness.
"We need to prepare the soil with compost so we can improve the soil's fertility and drainage."- you say and Hyunjin nods again, looking a little lost which in turn makes him look even more adorable.
The two of you get to work, your hands on autopilot as you've done this a hundred times now, watched your mother do it even more times. Hyunjin is a quick learner, starting off too excitedly so you had to calm him down and remind him to be gentle and slow.
It was like a meditative state to be in, the two of you working in silence, close to the earth as both of you kneel, hands deep in the soil.
The sound of the birds singing in the trees makes the experience even richer, as Hyunjin slowly starts forgetting the scary world around him and the sad world inside him, concentrating only on this little pocket in space and time where the only things that exist are the earth and you.
"Now we plant the petunias."- you say.
"How do we plant them?"- Hyunjin asks, sitting back on his legs.
"We need to dig a hole that's slightly larger than the plant's root ball, place the petunia in the hole and then backfill it with soil. We also can't have any air pockets so we'll have to gently press the soil down to avoid them forming."- you show the movement to him. "Also we need to give them at least 30 cm apart so they can have proper airflow and grow."
"Okay, I think I get it."- Hyunjin nods. "I wouldn't want to accidentally hurt the flower."
"You won't, trust me."- you chuckle a little.
You get to work again, Hyunjin being a little clumsy at first, before he manages to follow your lead, his eyes carefully observing your working hands.
He repeats the motions, and you notice his intense stare, his plump lips parted, his eyes narrowed. Suddenly, the air shifts and it feels almost erotic to work in your garden with Hyunjin.
A spark of lightning shoots through your body at the thought of his hands on your skin like that, to feel the touch you've longed for, for what feels like forever.
You scold yourself for such thoughts, brushing them off, burying them into the earth beneath you as you continue to work.
It takes some time but you both manage to finish the planting process together, your souls feel full of wonder and something intangible that's now woven between the two of you, almost invisible but intricate like a spider's web.
"Wow, we did that."- Hyunjin says after the two of you stand up and you watch him water the petunias.
"We did."- you nod chuckling.
"It feels really good."- he chuckles too, both of you looking at each other with big smiles on your faces.
"Mhm, it does."- you find yourself almost falling into him. If anyone looked at the two of you from outside, they would call you lovers.
"Does it feel like this every time?"
"Every time is different. I've never done this with another person except my mother."- you say as you brush your dress off.
"Oh, I should feel honored then."- Hyunjin giggles sweetly, the sound falling perfectly between the colorful flowers adorning your lovely garden.
You don't think your heart has felt this full in a long time and if you said that to Hyunjin now, he would agree.
"I can't wait to see them blossom fully."- Hyunjin smiles.
"Me too. Maybe you could paint them then."- you smile back at him.
He agrees, thinking that maybe by the time the petunias fully grow into their shape, Hyunjin's hands will be untied of the burden he feels every time he holds a paintbrush between his fingertips.

HAUNTED - Clarisse La Rue x Unclaimed! Fem! Reader
Part 2 of ATTRACTION.
summary: it’s halloween night, and your infamous rival with Clarisse is suddenly about to change…
warnings: mention of alcohol, implied meanings (?), use of pet name (in a joking way), swearing, HEAVY MAKEOUT SESSION. MEN & MINORS DNI PLEASE.
a/n: i can feel the heat radiating off of my laptop because of this one. like, I AM MELTINGGGGG. sorry if this is rushed, i’ll most likely edit this in the morning once i’ve had a chai 🤍
———————
LOUD MUSIC blares from the speakers as you try to make your way to the dance floor, weaving in and out between the numerous dancing bodies as you try to keep your friend in sight, bumping into some of them and muttering inaudible apologies as you sneak by. It was no use. After apologizing to what seemed to be the millionth person, you noticed your friend already dancing up against some tall Hephaestus kid. You couldn’t blame her, however, he was tall and handsome and very muscular from what you could see in the dim lighting. You curse yourself for agreeing to ever going to this party in the first place, knowing that you would most likely be alone for the rest of the night now.
Despite the heat on the dance floor, you couldn’t help but feel cold and naked. Well, you were sort-of naked, wearing a slutty bunny costume which your friend had convinced you to after saying that going as a police officer was too boring and common. You figured she was right, there were about fifty other girls wearing police officer costumes, and they looked far better in it in your opinion. Now alone in a party where you knew virtually no one, you decided to slip back out and head back to your cabin.
Someone spills a drink all over your front, causing you to mutter obscenities that not even the gods could ever think of. Your black bodysuit now reeked of sweat and alcohol. You groan, glaring sourly at the Scooby Doo costume in front of you. How perfect, you thought, being all alone and now someone spills their drink on you. You were about to give them a piece of your mind before you figured that blowing up on someone who’s probably too drunk to even think right now in the middle of a party wasn’t such a good idea. Frustratingly, you quickly look for an exit, only to find yourself face-to-face with yet another person.
Ghostface, you thought, now that’s something original.
“Out of my way,” you shouted, trying to push past the tall figure. Your attempt failed when you felt their muscular arm pull you back in front of them, their hooded eyes gazing into yours before pulling off their mask.
“Going somewhere, bunny?” Clarisse says as she reveals herself. Her usual stupid yet brilliant grin plastered on her face as she eyed you up and down, as if tearing you apart in your choice of costume. You couldn’t tell if she was judging you or if it was something else. But, that didn’t matter. This was still Clarisse La Rue, your natural nemesis, and the one thing standing between you from going back to the cabins and sleeping for the rest of the night. Clarisse read the look on your face and jokingly pouted her lips. “Aw, leaving so soon, bunny?”
You roll your eyes at your new nickname. “Move along, La Rue. I don’t want to have to deal with you.”
“But, bunny, the party just started,” Clarisse’s voice was low and raspy. You hate to admit it, but it was attractive to you, really attractive, and your nickname didn’t sound too bad when she said it this time.
However, your pride and ego took over your lustful thoughts, causing you to react negatively to that name. “Don’t call me that.”
Despite the music blaring in the background, the silence between the two of you was tense. You were taken aback to the time in the locker room a few weeks ago, feeling as if you two were recreating the scene: the intense stares, the hot tension waiting to be broken, obviously the costumes you both were wearing. There’s another thing you’d hate to admit: it’s that Clarisse looked surprisingly fit and attractive in a serial killer’s costume, adding a knife to it only created more of an affect towards you. However, the party scene wasn’t your style, Clarisse simply wasn’t your type (what a liar), and you weren’t the kind of girl who got with someone because of the tension between the two of you. No matter what, you would stand your ground against your temptations. Anything else with Clarisse besides mutual hatred would be like dancing with the devil – a tango that you weren’t too keen on taking even if it is Halloween night.
The prolonged staring soon became boring for Clarisse to continue after some time. She pulled the mask over her face in one motion, which surprised you slightly considering her curls. Patting you slightly on your shoulder, she gestured towards the doorway, as if she was allowing you to finally leave. Underneath the mask, you caught the slightest hint of her grin again, causing you to scowl at her. To Clarisse, this was a game, a game in which you were going to lose if you walked through that door. The thought of leaving was soon replaced with the urge to stay, not wanting to back down in front of Clarisse. Again, she caught the look on your face and dropped her hand back to her side. She stood to her full height, leaning in close enough to where you could feel her breath on your face.
“I knew you wouldn’t back down from this so easily, bunny,” she whispers into your ear. The seductiveness of her tone was enough to send chills throughout your spine. If there weren’t a hundred other kids in the cabin and you were a few more shots in, then you would’ve pounced on the girl.
Time went on, the music got slower and a few campers had already left. You were ready to leave with your friend until that Hephaestus boy came back and insisted that he walk her back to her cabin. You were hesitant at first, wondering if the boy had something else in mind before your friend pleaded to you to let her go. You gave in, and now you were walking back along the dark and wooded pathway alone. The only light came from the full moon peeking in through the treetops. You took a shortcut behind the armory when you noticed a familiar Ghostface slip into it. Your curiosity got the best of you and you went to investigate.
You were met with disappointment when you noticed that it was only Clarisse putting the knife back into its original place, as if she had never stolen it in the first place. Quietly, you began to retreat before you were once again met face-to-face with the Ares girl, mask clutched in hand.
“This isn’t what it looks like,” you quickly defend yourself.
Clarisse tuts, smiling in an almost devilish sort of way. “Really? Because it looks like you were spying on me.”
“Don’t get any funny ideas in that little twisted head of yours, La Rue,” you retorted and folded your arms across your chest. Clarisse leaned in the doorway, her hand hanging loosely enough above your head to play with the fake bunny ears you borrowed from your friend. The light in the armory was dim enough to make out all the small features on Clarisse’s face, the ones that you had never really cared to notice about until now. The sudden change in energy between the two of you felt less intense than before, almost peaceful in a way. You considered that downright near impossible because Clarisse was far beyond ‘peaceful’ in any sort of way.
“You know, I think you look really great tonight,” she whispers as if she was telling you some forbidden secret. You were glad that it was dark outside so that she couldn’t see the sudden rush of red rise to your cheeks. You bit your lip anxiously before removing Clarisse’s fingers off of your bunny ears.
The feeling inside you was different this time. You could feel your heartbeat in your chest as Clarisse eyed you up and down again, licking her lips slowly as if she was enticing you. You could feel yourself almost melt into her touch as she began interlocking your fingers with hers. You could feel your brain trying to fight against your heart, reminding you that Clarisse was the exact opposite of what you could possibly want. But, your heart figured you could turn her into something you need.
Why did you dislike the Ares girl so much in the first place? You began picking at your memories with Clarisse to figure out how the dispute between you two even started. But, the harder you tried to remember, the more you began to forget. Your visions of your first days at camp were quickly replaced with the dark, tall, muscular Ares girl in front of you. You both said nothing, yet the way your eyes hungrily danced between her eyes and her lips said everything to her.
Anything with Clarisse beyond mutual hatred was like dancing with the devil – you could confirm that now that your lips were on hers. You muted the curses in your head as you wrapped your arms around her neck, bringing the Ares girl closer to you. Her arms found her way down to your hips, placing a firm grip on them. The thought of kissing Clarisse had never crossed your mind, ever, yet it surprised you. You had always taken Clarisse as the type where she would like to get things done fast, but right now, Clarisse was slow with it. She was slow with moving her lips against yours, she was slow with guiding her tongue against your bottom lip as if she was slightly begging for entrance, she was slow with pulling you in tighter, even though the space between you two was already minimal enough.
You wanted to complain when Clarisse pulled away first. You noticed the worried look in her eyes after realizing what she had done. You shook your head, glancing around quickly before pushing her into the shed, swiftly closing the door behind you.
“Don’t get that fucking look with me, Clarisse,” you muttered before crashing your lips onto hers again. She grunted at first, taken aback by your sudden boldness, but soon, your passion was met with hers. It was like fire on fire, and you both were now too far gone to even argue what was happening between the two of you.
Now this was what you were expecting from Clarisse. Her arms found her way back around your waist, picking you up and placing you on the wooden table in the shed. You smiled against her teeth as you wrapped her arms around her neck once again, pulling her in closer. She straddled between your legs, silently cursing at the table for being in the way. She wanted to get closer to you, wanted to feel you, wanted to devour this moment up and relive it every time she thought of you, which would now be more often because of this. Against yours, her tongue licked the bottom of your mouth and you finally let her in. You moaned slightly at the hot contact, trying your best to keep your composure. Clarisse’s hands moved from your waist and down to your thighs, repeatedly grazing it in an up and downwards motion. It sent shivers down your spine, earning Clarisse yet another groan from you.
“I told you I’d get you back next time,” she murmured breathlessly against your lips. You wanted to roll your eyes at her for the snarky comment, but the amount of pleasure and satisfaction rushing through your body was too much for you to even think properly.
However, you thought this was a pretty sweet way for her to get back at you: making out in a shed on Halloween night.
Clarisse pulled her lips off yours. You were about to protest before suddenly feeling her lips against your neck, accidentally allowing yourself to let out an almost unholy moan. You covered your mouth suddenly, surprised that you could ever let out such an explicit expression. Clarisse smirked against your hot skin as you did so.
“Shut up, Clarisse,” you snapped at her.
“I think the one who needs shutting up here is you, sweetheart,” she said before concentrating back on leaving dark hickeys along your neckline. In a costume like yours, it would be near impossible to cover up. You could care less right now. You would figure out the logistics later between you and Clarisse’s sudden change in relationship.
You wanted more. Clarisse knew it. But, before anything else could happen, the voices of the other campers were close by. You jumped slightly, pushing Clarisse off of you. She glared at you unhappily before too realizing that the campers were returning, and that if anyone else entered the shed, they would soon be met with the sight of Camp Half-Blood’s infamous rival making out in the middle of the night. So, silently, you slipped out first, followed by Clarisse. She half masked her face and gazed in satisfaction at the artwork on your neck. Created by her, of course. Suddenly, the expression on her face changed. In fact, her entire demeanor changed in a single instant. Clarisse’s hands were hot against your face as she grazed your cheek softly, smiling at you in an almost loving sort of way. As if you both just didn’t have the hottest makeout session of your entire lives. You gave into it, reciprocating that smile as she leaned in to kiss your forehead. No words were said between you two as she ran off back towards her cabin before anyone else could see what happened.
You danced with the devil tonight. You were well aware of that. But, you’ve settled with being a sinner if making out with Clarisse is your absolution.

Neon lights casted a vibrant pink and blue glow onto the cracked pavement outside of Platform Nine, a quaint concert venue and club all in one, that pulsed with life. Inside, the air was thick–humid with sweat, perfume, and the blaring music bouncing off the walls. Music thrummed through the floors, bass sending waves of vibration up the stilettos of women on the dancefloor. Laughter, flirtatious murmurs, and sounds of shakers behind the bar hummed lowly underneath the beats of the music–proving Platform Nine to be the most live venue on the street.
You were settled outside, perched on the back steps of the building with a cigarette between your fingers. Even outside you could feel the beats of the music thumping in your chest, but you were unphased–it came with your lifestyle.
As the lead guitarist of Divination, most of your nights began like this.
“We should head in, Y/n. We’re on in ten.” Your bandmate, Lily, spoke, fanning away the smoke from your cigarette and scrunching her nose.
“Yeah, you go on. I’ll be there in a minute.” You replied, giving her a reassuring smile.
“I’ll take that.” She plucked the cigarette from your fingers, tossing it to the pavement and crushing it with the bottom of her shoe. Before you could retort, she gave you a cheeky grin, running inside through the backdoor.
You rolled your eyes, smiling–she had been your best friend since highschool, and god knows she’s been telling you to quit smoking since the day you met.
Since the day the band was formed, you’ve had one particular rule–you would never start a show without scoping out the crowd first. Whether big or small, you’d go on–you just wanted to know what you were getting into.
With the muscle memory of your rule, you headed down the side alley of the venue, turning a corner to be faced with the neon sign reading Platform Nine shining on your face. It had always been your favourite venue, particularly for the vibe, and the crowd that it attracted. It was guaranteed that if you were performing at Platform Nine, you’d be gaining some new fans, and that was important for your band.
Despite the inside of the venue being very much alive with party goers, the outside was quiet, minus the sound of music. No long line of people–just cars whooshing by and a few people with “normal” plans walking down the sidewalk. The coolness of the night air sent goosebumps up your legs, barely covered by the fabric of your fishnet stockings.
For the most part, you were all alone–or so you thought. As you approached the front door, a voice broke the “silence”.
“Are you lost?”
You turn on the heel of your boot, finding yourself face to face with a tall, sleek (and extremely hot) figure, long black hair blowing over his sharp cheekbones in the breeze of the night. He almost looked too good to be true–and with the way his hair was flowing in the wind, you felt like you were in a very cheesy (bollywood) movie.
“Sorry?” You ask, raising a brow at his question.
“I said, are you lost. Don’t think I’ve seen you at Platform before.” He spoke, shoving his slender hands into his pockets to shield them from the night air.
“Well then you must be blind.” You retort, crossing your arms. You certainly did not have the time for useless flirtation tactics, especially when you were supposed to be on stage in five minutes. You were used to this kind of thing, however, it was undeniable that there was something particularly alluring about him.
His brows furrowed at your response, though a smirk quickly curled the corner of his lips. “Tenacious, aren’t you?”
“Quite.” You responded flatly, uncrossing your arms and turning back towards the doors.
“I’ll see you inside, then, yeah? Where can I find you?”
“On stage.” You countered, and though your back was facing him, he could feel you smirking as you made your way inside.
─────── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───────
You made it onstage just in time, your bandmates unphased–they were used to your lack of urgency. The crowd hushed to a low hum at the presence of your band on stage, providing Lily with a moment to introduce the band. As you slung your guitar around your neck, you noticed a certain individual in the crowd–the same man from outside. You leaned over to Lily, speaking lowly in her ear. “I’ll take this one, Lils.”
Lily nodded, stepping aside to let you take your place in front of the microphone.
You wrapped a hand over the mic on its stand, the dim glow of the stage lights glimmering in the glossy maroon lacquer painted on your nails. You brought your mouth a few inches away from the microphone, beginning to speak.
“How’s everyone doing tonight?” You spoke casually, beaming at the crowd's roaring response in cheers and whistles.
“That’s what I like to hear. Listen, we’ve got some good music coming your way in just a minute, but first, let's get you acquainted. We’ve got Mary on drums, Marly on bass, Lily on vocals, and of course, me on your lead guitar.” The crowd cheered as Mary played a quick drum roll, Marly strummed a quick riff, and Lily bowed.
“Now, who’s ready to rock?” You questioned, Mary counting the four of you in before the crowd even had a moment to respond.
Your performance nearly rocked the roof off of the venue, the crowd quickly erupting into a frenzy of dancing and cheering. You tapped the heel of your boot to the beat of the drums, strumming your fingers up and down your guitar, feeling every chord echo through your body, dancing through your chest along with the notes of Lily’s powerful voice.
Normally you wouldn’t pay such meticulous attention to the people in the crowd, but your eyes continuously found one man in the sea of people.
He weaved his way through the crowd, making his way right to the front–just in time for your solo.
As part of your usual routine, you got down on your knees, your fingers dancing wildly across the strings of your guitar, nearly drawing blood as you crushed your solo. You locked eyes with him, a curtain of wild hair obstructing your view, and he grinned, clearly enjoying your performance.
─────── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───────
After the show, you made your way backstage, the roar of the crowd fading away in the music that resumed its blaring through the speakers. Divination had certainly livened up the place even more than before, the crowd more rowdy than ever, almost everyone on the dancefloor.
There was only one thing on your mind–the mysterious man in the crowd. He had disappeared some time during your final song, and although your mind was telling you it was a bad idea to go looking for him, you found it hard to battle the impulse.
Regardless, you made your way out the back door for another smoke–you’d need it before you headed back inside to interact with your recent audience.
As you hopped down the steps, you heard the crunch of a footstep on gravel, just around the corner in the alleyway. Although any normal person would probably take this as a sign to head back inside, you peered around the corner, only to be met with the very sight you were hoping for.
There he was again, leaning against the brick wall, one arm folded across his chest and the other holding a cigarette up to his lips.
He blew smoke from his mouth, turning his head towards you.
“I was hoping I’d catch you out here. I was almost 100% sure you were a smoker, I smelled it on you when we met outside.” He spoke, his voice velvet-smooth, low, and dangerous. Each syllable that rolled off his tongue clouded your senses more and more, commanding your attention.
You knew he would be trouble, but so were you.
“I’m not sure if I should be offended that you’re saying I smell like a smoker, or flattered that you paid such close attention.” You responded, your calloused fingers reaching into your pocket for your pack of cigarettes, removing one from the box  with your mouth before stashing it back in your pocket. You reached for your lighter, but he put a hand out, reaching into his own pocket with the other hand.
“Allow me.” He flipped open the lighter, flicking it to life and holding it up to the cigarette in your mouth. “And I’m sure I wouldn’t have to pay close attention to smell it, you reek. No offense, of course.” He teased, that stupid smirk quickly plastering itself on his face again. “But anyway, I was paying attention.”
“Do I really?” You question, burying your nose into your leather jacket to investigate for yourself.
“Nah, not really. I’m just teasing.”
“Mm. Okay.” You roll your eyes. You couldn’t help but smile. “Did you enjoy the show, mystery man?”
“Mystery man? Is that my name, now?”
“You never told me your name.” You argued.
“Yet I know yours. Y/n, is it? Lovely name. And yes, to answer your question, I did enjoy the show.”
“I’m sure you did. You slithered your way to the front, didn’t you?”
“So you were watching me, then?” He teased.
“Observant, aren’t you?” You quipped, rolling your eyes yet again. “You still haven’t told me your name.”
“Forgive me, miss Y/n. Sirius. Sirius Black. Now tell me, when can I see you again?”
“Two quick interactions and you’re already wanting more?”
“How could I not? Beautiful, feisty, and good with her hands. What more could I want?” He joked, chuckling at his own words.
“Oh, you’re dirty.” You said wryly, provoking another chuckle from Sirius.
“So are you, judging by your lack of disgust.” He remarked wittily, flicking away his cigarette, the dim embers fading away on the pavement. “Give me your number.”
“Not much of a romantic, are you?” You commented sarcastically.
“I suppose you’ll have to find that out for yourself, yeah?”

Dean lost track of his girlfriend somewhere in the sea of horny, sweaty, dancing people. It was dark inside the overly crowded house, lights flashed and overwhelmed his senses, the music was as loud as it could be so that he could feel the beat of the music in his stomach. The alcohol was not settling right in his stomach tonight because of it, so he abandoned the red plastic cup on a random table.
He didn’t want to come to this costume party at all, but Jeralynne insisted. Four months, they’d been dating for four months and it’s almost Christmas. It’s cold as hell outside and he’s dressed in one fucking layer of a Ken costume—for her.
He couldn’t bring himself to break up with her, but she was thrilled to see him everyday, and he just couldn’t do it. When they sat in silence, the words rested heavily on his tongue, his heart would beat fast, and he just wanted to do it, but then she’d be sweet on him. He couldn’t break her heart, but he knew he had to. Maybe after Christmas, he couldn’t do this to her now.
At least the hundreds of people dancing and kissing provided warmth.
Dean walked up the staircase, side-stepping past couples humping each other and making out heatedly against the walls. He made a point to stare at girls and gave them smirks and a wink when they grinned friskily at him while kissing their boyfriends.
The walls were so damn thin for such a giant house, he was unable to escape the loud sound of the music. The bass vibrated through the walls, causing picture frames to shake. He nearly wanted to run out of the place and choose to freeze his balls off outside, but he finally saw her.
Jeralynne was talking to a girl dressed as a sexy elf. God, at least that sexy Zorro costume she was wearing tonight was getting him hot and bothered. He considered asking her to fuck him and maybe slap him around a little, but maybe it was too early in the relationship for that.
Instead, he went up to her in her tiny, tight leather dress and slapped a hand over her ass. She gasped and turned around to face him, that classic red cup spilling liquid over her hand. She glared up at him cutely from under the brim of her black Stetson, her eyes narrowing between the black mask tied around her head.
He stole the drink from her and handed it to the sexy elf. She immediately took the cup without a complaint and whispered something along the lines of, “go get ‘em, hot stuff,” into Jeralynne’s hair.
“Hey!” She exclaimed, but he could hardly hear her. He just smirked down at her and pulled her close to him by her waist, leaning in to smell her skin. So flowery, always. “Dude!” She tried to look him in the eyes, but he nipped at her collarbone and shut her up with the gasp that escaped her.
“You’re not drunk, are ya, sexy?” He asked against her neck, leavening a trail of wet kisses along her neck and above her breasts. He walked her backwards and pressed her into the wall as she squirmed in his arms.
“Uh,” she flushed, pushing her arms against his chest, “no, that wasn’t alcohol.” She stared up at him curiously, there was sexy, fiery defiance and irritation in her eyes that turned him on. He planted a kiss on her lips that made her gasp in surprise.
“Good,” he murmured against her mouth and trailed his hands down to grab her ass then squeezed, and ground against her thigh. She cursed softly when she felt his erection. “You look smoking hot in this costume and I wanna fuck you real bad. I found a spot, what d’ya say? You down?”
He stopped what he was doing to weave his fingers through her soft hair and tilted her face up to drop kisses over her jaw by pulling gently at the roots. She stopped resisting him and grabbed his face to kiss him deeply, moaning a soft ‘I’m down’ against his mouth that made him smirk.
“Awesome,” he murmured, nibbling on her bottom lip and massaging her scalp. “The spot’s just a closet actually. That okay with you?” He asked with a quiet laugh, moving her with him to where the nearest closet was. She laughed breathlessly against his lips and nodded. A little shiver moved over her body like a wave when he opened the door.
“Yeah, s’long as we both fit,” she teased, earning a deep chuckle from him. He closed the door behind him and grabbed onto the tight hem of her dress to leave it bunched at her waist.
“Baby, the less space there is, the closer I am to your sweet little ass,” he moaned softly. She cursed under her breath and swiftly raised her hands to loosen the red tie he wore.
She pulled him in roughly by his now-loose tie and he moaned before they even made contact. She captured his lips in a breathy kiss. Dean felt his resolve melt away when she licked past his parted lips. His heart skipped a few beats when she buried her fingers into his hair and tugged. He gasped into her mouth, met her sweet tongue halfway, and kissed her lewdly.
She fumbled with the buttons of his striped blue and white shirt as he teased the waistband of her lace panties. He breathed heavily against her lips and helped her unbutton the shirt all the way. Their noses bumped against each other and he dove back in for a deep kiss while she shoved the red suspenders over his shoulders.
He licked her tongue as his cock twitched, aching to be let out of the thin slacks keeping him from being inside her. He swallowed her soft moan, pressing against her mouth desperately, keeping her pinned between the wall and his firm body. The sweet taste of non-alcoholic eggnog overtook his taste buds, so he sucked her tongue into his mouth for a better taste, needing the flavour of her permanently.
She hummed softly and reached behind him with one hand to squeeze his ass. He pulled back slightly with a gasp, a wet pop resounding inside the closed space when he parted from her mouth, and a blush scurried up his face.
“You're the hottest Ken I’ve seen tonight,” she whispered, fitting a hand between their bodies and biting his bottom lip, tugging gently until he groaned in pleasure.
“Pretty sure I’m the only Ken here,” he retorted bashfully. “But… thanks.” She skilfully unbuckled his belt, and laughed against his mouth when he looked down to watch her slim fingers move quickly to unbutton his slacks.
She trailed her lips across his jaw, slowly pulling his zipper down, and nipped gently at his earlobe. He bit his lip and pulled her underwear to the side, slipping his middle finger through her wet folds. He heard her breath hitch, moaned softly at the swollenness of her clit, and felt her leg ride up his hip to open herself up to his touch.
“Fuck, you’re so needy, sweetheart,” he murmured, circling her slippery entrance with two fingers.
“Says the one who can’t shut up,” she teased with a smirk. He scrunched his nose, then he pouted at her. She curled her fingers around the back of his neck and slipped her hand into his pants. She cupped his hard dick in her hand and sucked lightly at his pulse. He moaned lowly, almost growling when she found the spot instantly, licking and biting his special spot.
He felt like he was going to combust. She snuck her hand lower and brushed her thumb over the wet spot his leaking cock left on the cotton of his boxers. With a whimper, he removed his hand from her pussy and sucked his fingers clean of her arousal.
“I don’t have a condom, baby,” he admitted, untying the lace over her breasts so he could open the leather dress. She slipped her hand out of his slacks and frowned, disappointed. “I’m clean, though, if you wanna keep going. If not, I can find other ways to please you,” he murmured, tugging the dress open impatiently to latch onto her breasts.
“Fuck…” she moaned, arching her back. She was so horny, she didn’t really want to stop, and his constant search for a yes turned her on. The guys she tried to date were so horrible that the bare fucking minimum was doing it for her. His lips felt soft against her skin, his stubble tickled her sensitive skin when he moved from one breast to the other. “I’m clean, too,” she gasped, reaching for his hips, she tugged him forward, and ground her pussy against his thigh.
“That’s a yes to fucking, then?” He asked with a chuckle, starting to pull her underwear down slowly.
“Yes,” she replied with a grin, helping him pull the lace past her black thigh-high boots. He even got down on his knees and let her support herself on his shoulders so she wouldn’t trip. As soon as he got them off, she pulled both his boxers and slacks down, letting them pool around the shiny black shoes he wore. “Wow, you are…” she trailed off, taking his cock gingerly in her hand.
He grabbed her wrist and she looked up at him in question. He didn’t say anything, he just guided her soft hand up and down his throbbing, heavy shaft, while staring into her eyes. She bit her lip coyly and tightened her grip. It drew a rumbling moan from deep within his chest.
“I’m what?” He asked, his voice husky and raspy. He licked his pink, swollen lips, stepping closer to her.
“Big, thick,” she listed, tugging faster at his cock, “pretty. I wouldn’t mind having you in my mouth… it’s a shame you’re going inside me.” His eyes darkened at her lascivious expression. He pulled her hand away and manhandled her small frame into position. Her Stetson fell to the floor but they didn’t care.
“It’ll be worth it, babe,” he murmured against her neck, while his fingers pinched her nipple and he roughly kneaded her breast. She leaned back into his chest, squirming, panting, and resting her head on his shoulder.
“Is that an empty promise?” She teased softly, feeling him gently pull her cloak out of the way. He cut off the laugh before it even escaped her lips by lifting her leg up by the bend of her knee. She yelped and reached out to stabilise herself with her palm flat on the wall.
“Guess that’s up to you,” he told her, finding her sweet spot to mark it up as she had done to him. From behind, he rolled his hips forward and rubbed his cock through her soaked folds. They moaned together and he almost came when he felt her reach down to press his cock closer to her clit. With a breathless, “fuck, you’re driving crazy,” he reached down and replaced her hand with his, positioning the head of his cock at her entrance.
“Please, fuck me,” she begged, reaching back with her freehand to bury her fingers in his gelled hair.
He smirked and slowly pushed his cock inside her. He groaned instantly as her walls fluttered around him, her warmth made him breathless, and he squeezed the thigh he was holding up. When she gasped, he slowly pulled out and then thrusted back inside her roughly, going deeper and deeper.
From this angle, his cock brushed repeatedly over her g-spot. Either she was sleeping with the wrong guys or she was so horny anything felt good. She had a feeling it the former thing, he knew what he was doing, just how to fuck her, where to put his hands, and knew just what to say to make her open her legs to him. He got into a mind-numbing rhythm and sucked another red mark on her shoulder.
He breathed heavily into her ear and found her breast with his other hand rather than gripping her hip. Dean noticed that as he fucked her harder, her moans started to sound slightly different than before, softer and less pornographic. It was hotter somehow, more intimate. Her gasps and the occasional moans, and thrown in between curses were short praises that made him slam into her harder.
“You feel amazing,” he rasped, twisting her nipple one last time before bringing his hand down to massage her swollen clit. She gasped sharply and clamped down on his cock. “Good girl, so wet for me…” he trailed off, rubbing circles on her clit faster.
“Oh, God, I’m gonna-” a strangled moan cut off her sentence when he pinched her clit.
“Shit, me too,” he chuckled deeply. “Where do you want me?” He heaved, hips stuttering as she squeezed him tighter. She turned her face slightly and pulled his lips down to hers.
“Inside me,” she murmured, kissing him roughly. With a few more thrusts, she orgasmed and her velvety walls pulsed around his throbbing cock. Her curses and moans filled the small closet and he groaned loudly against her mouth.
He let go of her leg, thrusted into her harder, faster, and wrapped his large hand around her neck. Her legs were pressed together tightly, keeping him inside her as she came and cried out her pleasure. With a loud moan, he came, his hot cum spurting deep inside her.
His thrusts slowly came to a stop and he panted against her neck, exhausted and satisfied. He stayed inside her and pressed soft kisses over her neck and shoulder.
“Been wanting to fill you up with my cum,” he admitted softly, sliding his hands soothingly up and down her sides. “Didn’t think you’d be into it.” He planted a kiss on top of her head and pulled his soft cock out of her.
“Guess Ken was right about being a ten,” she murmured, turning around on shaky legs to lean against the wall. He snorted and grinned down at her. He reached down and pulled his slacks and underwear back up, shoving his cum covered cock carelessly into his briefs.
He got down on his knees, snatched her underwear from the floor, but instead of putting them on her, he pulled her hips away from the wall and buried his face into cunt.
“Jesus Christ,” she gasped, her legs falling open again as he lapped at her entrance, licking away her cum and his own.
“Still, Dean, darlin’,” he mumbled against her pussy with a laugh.
“Dean,” she murmured thoughtfully. His nose rubbed gently against her sensitive clit and she whined, letting herself relax as his tongue prodded at her entrance.
“Come for me again, yeah?” He looked up at her and pushed two fingers into her wet hole. He thumbed at her clit, flicking teasingly side to side, and waited for her to say ‘okay’ before replacing his thumb with his mouth.
When she orgasmed for the second time, he licked his lips gladly, and stood back up, bringing her in for a kiss. He slipped his tongue into her mouth, allowing her to taste herself. She slid her hands up his bare best, gently scraping his nipples with her nails.
He pulled away and inhaled sharply, then finally said what he’d been wanting to ask since he saw her pick this costume out. “Some time in the future… what would you say to helping me fulfil an old fantasy of mine?” He rubbed his thumb gently over her hipbone and kissed her forehead.
“You wanna do this again?” She laughed breathlessly, when he lowered his head to bite and tug at her nipples playfully. She pulled his hair so he’d look her in the eyes again. She wasn’t used to being doted on after sex, but it was a nice change.
“Uh, what do you mean?” He stared down at her with confusion, lips wet, red, and in a pout.
“What do you mean?” She asked, just as confused. The song being blasted turned from a loud one to a soft Christmas one, and he realised she sounded way off. He searched blindly for the light switch in the closet by sliding his hands across the wall. “Here.” She switched the light on and he swallowed when he stared down at the girl who was definitely not Jeralynne.
“Fuck,” he groaned, smoothing a hand over his hair. “Oh, fuck… no… I’m so… sorry,” he apologised, getting down quickly to help her put her underwear on. “Kind of sorry, the sex was great,” he corrected himself, refusing to look up at her. Even when he got her underwear up all the way and helped her adjust, he looked to the side.
“What do you mean? What’s wrong?” She searched for his face and then cupped his jaw so he’d look at her. His eyes fluttered, closing to avoid her, but then he opened them, and steeled himself for the truth he was about to tell.
“I have a girlfriend and you’re both wearing the same costume… and I… I’m sorry for putting you in this position,” he sighed. He took her hand, moving it away from his face, and watched her eyes widen.
“Uh, easy mistake?” She shrugged, her cheeks turned pink as she pulled her hand out of his grasp. “I don’t know what to say…” she trailed off, quickly tightening the lace of her dress to cover her breasts.
“They should lower this damn music,” he muttered, reaching down for her Stetson. She laughed softly at that and took it from him, putting it neatly atop her head again.
“We can forget about this,” she told him, lowering and adjusting the hem of her leather dress. Meanwhile, he started to button his shirt up again. “See ya ‘round, Dean,” she smiled awkwardly and cracked the door open.
“Wait!” He shouted after her. When she jumped, he cleared his throat and brought his hand awkwardly to the back of his neck. She raised a brow at him and waited for him to speak. “I’m gonna be straight with you right now.. I can’t click with my girlfriend…” He trailed off, watching her shut the door and cross her arms over her chest while chewing her lip.
“Want some advice or something?” She laughed softly, then reached out with a grimace to touch the red mark on his neck. “I guess I’m a pretty good coach, even if I haven’t dated in a while. You know what they say: All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players… actually, I don’t think that goes well with this situation,” she added distractedly, brows furrowed and a pout on her pretty lips.
He laughed softly and smiled down at her. He groaned, hating the fact that he was dating someone when he felt something so special right now with someone else. He shook his head and sighed heavily. “No… this is all fucked up, but… when I break up with my girlfriend, wanna… try this out?”
She tilted her head and bit her lip hesitantly. “How about we just stick together as friends… for the meantime,” she offered. He frowned, felt his stomach sink at the rejection, but she seemed conflicted about everything which soothed his ego.
“Yeah.. I get it, can’t just jump into one relationship and then another without giving myself time…” he nodded, trying not to appear too dejected. He smiled at her kindly and she smiled shyly in return.
“Sure,” she said nervously. “Uh, good luck,” she whispered, turning around once again to get out. She got out of the room this time, but he grabbed her elbow to stop her once again.
“Can I get your number?” He asked quietly, hope turned his eyes bright. “It’s cool, if you don’t want to.” She turned around and he let her slide her arm out of his grip, but she only kept her small palm against his calloused one. It felt so right.
She reached up for his unmade tie and pulled him in for a kiss. It was rough and needy, breathtaking and made his heart nearly burst. He didn’t realise how different it felt to kiss Jeralynne and this cute stranger. She pulled away breathlessly, but he chased her lips and gave her a final peck, wishing it could last forever.
“Fuck, you taste good,” she whispered, leaning her forehead against his. “Anyway, yeah…” she conceded, pulling away from him to hold her hand out.
“Awesome,” he whispered, unsure as he put his mobile in her hand. She added herself to his contacts and he smiled softly at her name. Now, he knew.
“We need to figure this out first. Until then, let’s… not have contact,” she added, staring up at him under the white glow of the light. He did the same, trying to memorise the hidden features of the woman who made him feel things he’d never felt before, and was now leaving—possibly forever.
Talk about wrong place, wrong time, right person.

We Can Make the Morning
(or Angel Take 7)
A one-shot
A/N: I've had this idea for a while and just decided to go ahead and write it the other day while I was watching Elvis On Tour. I hope y'all enjoy this 1972 Elvis x fem!reader one-shot!
Warnings: 18+ minors DNI, kissing, cussing, handjob, ejaculation, oral sex (f receiving), possible concussion

Tumblr media
Greensboro, North Carolina. You've lived here your whole life. And you've been an Elvis fan since you heard his first record at the tender age of fifteen. Now you're in your early thirties and you finally find yourself at one of his shows. You've never managed to go to one before and something about this feels like destiny. Still, the best you could afford is a seat at the front of the balcony, but you're next to where he'll walk into and out of the arena. If you push, you might be able to get a pretty good glimpse of him, and that's all you've ever really wanted. You dream of more, but you know better than to think he's going to notice you or anything.
April 14th, 1972 is show day, finally. You get dressed and try to ignore your nerves as you fix your hair and swipe on your makeup. You opt for your favorite bell bottoms and a cropped peasant blouse. It's not the dressiest outfit you own, but it flatters you and shows off all your best assets. Not that it matters much. He'll never see you.
At the arena, you make your way to your seat and try to survey whether you'll be able to get to a place where you can really see him up close. Eventually the lights go down and the music starts up. You head over to the railing, but there's a hundred girls between you and the tunnel. There's no way you can fight through them this time. You'll have to try again at the end of the concert. You head back to your seat with a new determination.
The show is incredible.
He's wearing a dark blue jumpsuit with a belt that has an owl on it, as he points out during one of the songs. Even as far away as you are, you can tell he looks amazing. His voice is on point and his performance is unmatched. You sit in silence with your lips parted slightly and your eyes wide. It's like he's made of stardust. And you're not going to let him pass by without seeing him up close.
He ends the show with Can't Help Falling In Love and then bows with his arms held out holding the silver cape. You know he's going to move fast through the tunnel, so you run to the railing and push your way through all the women gathered there. It's hot and hard to breathe and your heart is pounding. You're pressed up against the railing where it hits you just below the waist. Your position on your platform boots is precarious but you lean over anyway, just in case he reaches up. You feel yourself getting lightheaded from the excitement, but you're not going to miss this for anything, no matter how you feel. Just then, you see him headed for the tunnel. Your ears start ringing and the edges of your vision go dark. You can't believe it's really him. As the blackness envelops you, someone behind you pushes on your back and you feel yourself falling...
******
On stage, Elvis knows he's putting on a hell of a show. The energy from the crowd is electric and the camera crew seems excited by the footage they're collecting. In truth, he's ready to be done with this damn movie. Ready to be done with this damn tour. He enjoys the stage portion but everything in between is grueling. And honestly, the loneliness has been setting in pretty hard for him, especially in the middle of the night. Sometimes he picks up a girl at a show, but most of his encounters are empty. And even if he does find someone he likes, the conversation is lacking or she's so starstruck she can't do much more than giggle or try way too hard to impress him in bed. He longs for a real connection.
On stage, though, he lives his dream every night. This show in North Carolina is particularly satisfying for some reason and he comes off the stage with a smile on his face. He makes his way quickly to the car, heading for the tunnel lined with screaming fans. Looking up briefly, something strange captures his eye.
He reacts quickly without thinking, throwing his arms out to catch you just before you hit the ground. Somehow, you fall perfectly into his grasp and he holds you like a baby. He's stopped running, so his entourage encircles him to urge him forward.
"You can't stop here, man!"
"Put her down; let's go!" He looks down at you in his arms and realizes you're out cold.
"I can't! She's out, guys!"
"You're gonna have to drop her!" He shakes his head vigorously.
"No. I'm bringin' her with me." The guys make eye contact across him. They know when he's like this there's no arguing with him. He starts moving forward again with you in his arms.
At the car, the guys try again to get him to drop you with a security guard, but he refuses.
"It's my fault she's like this! I'm not leavin' her!" He gets into the backseat of his car, holding you on his lap. The other guys roll their eyes and squeeze in with him. It was a tight fit even before you were there, so now it's almost impossible for them to smash into the car. He wraps his arms around you tighter and holds you to him while the guys pile in. Sweat from the show slides down his face and he looks at you in his arms. The gentle lines of your features are intriguing and he wonders what your name is. For a moment, he forgets where he is and does something a little strange. He pulls your face to his and presses his lips to your forehead. That's when your eyelids flutter and you stir.
******
You sit up quickly and look around, trying to figure out where you are. You're in a car of some kind with a bunch of men you don't recognize. You try desperately to remember how you got here.
"Hey, honey. Are you alright?" When you hear his voice, you whip your head around.
"Oh." You answer breathlessly. "It's you."
He chuckles softly and his smile almost causes you to pass out again.
"It's me. I'm sorry, honey, I just didn't want to leave you there in that state."
"State?"
"Do you remember falling over the wall?" You cover your face in embarrassment.
"Oh my god..." He laughs softly again.
"Honey, it's okay. It happens."
"This has happened before?!"
"Well, not exactly..." One of the guys cuts in and you realize you're sitting on Elvis's lap with his arms around you. You fight to keep your composure.
"We're here, boss." The door opens and the guys climb out of the car until it's just you and Elvis.
"I'd like you to stay, so I can keep an eye on you. Is that okay?"
"I'm not sure it's necessary..."
"I say it is. Come on." You're not going to argue with him. He pats your bottom and you climb out of the car, followed closely by him.
On the sidewalk, you stumble a little, still woozy from passing out. He wraps his arm around your waist and steadies you.
"Do I need to carry you, honey?" The concern on his face is so endearing you almost melt into the ground.
"N-no, I think I'm okay."
"Alright. I'm gonna keep a hold of ya, though." You nod and he smiles genially. Then, the two of you make your way into the hotel surrounded by his bodyguards. At the elevator, he tries to dismiss them, and they refuse to leave him alone, but when he speaks sternly and insists that he'd like to be left alone, they listen and watch as he gets on the elevator with just you. Once the doors slide shut, he turns to you and puts both hands on your hips.
"What's your name, honey?"
"Oh! I'm y/n. I'm really sorry about this."
"Don't be." He waves his hand to dismiss your apology. "I just want to make sure you're okay. Do you remember if you hit your head on the way down?"
"I don't. I think I might've been out before I fell."
"You still might've hit your head." The elevator dings and the doors open. He keeps one arm around your waist and ushers you down the hallway to his room. You look at him in his jumpsuit and wonder where he might possibly have a key stashed. He bends down and pulls it out of his boot, standing and unlocking the door. You stumble a little walking across the threshold and he steadies you again, watching you with even more concern. Once you're in the room with the door shut behind you, he seats you next to him on the couch. You yawn and blink slowly. Somehow, you're exhausted.
"Are you sleepy?"
"Mhmm." You answer, yawning again.
"Okay. We need to keep you awake. If you hit your head, you shouldn't go to sleep."
"I don't feel like I hit my head." He reaches out and puts his hand on your cheek.
"I'm not willing to take any chances, honey." You nod slowly and notice that his eyes flick down to your lips. He clears his throat and pulls his hand back. You're a little surprised that he almost seems shy.
"You're sure I can't just lay down?"
"No, baby, you gotta stay awake." He looks down at himself and then to the bathroom. "I need to shower, though. But I hate to leave you alone."
"I really think I'm okay." He looks at skeptically as you yawn yet again.
"No. You're comin' with me. You can wear your underwear in the shower. I won't touch you. C'mon." He makes you stand up off of the couch and takes your hand, walking you to the bathroom. You want to tell him that you'd happily get in the shower with him naked, but you don't. He puts you in first, facing the back of the shower and then you hear him undress and get in behind you. You're dying to peek and see what he looks like without his jumpsuit, but he's being so kind that you can't violate his privacy like that. Still, the knowledge that Elvis Presley is naked behind you in the shower makes you a little crazy. Just when you think it can't get much more endearing, he starts humming. Your heart melts when his humming turns to quiet singing and you're dying to turn around and wrap him in your arms. He's so much more precious in person than you ever dreamed he could be.
You're lost in a reverie when the shower turns off and you feel him turn to face you. You can tell he's looking at you and you want to turn around so badly. Everything inside you is screaming at you to just turn around. But it's like you're frozen where you stand. When he kisses your shoulder, though, your head rolls to the side and you're desperate for him to touch you. He doesn't though. Instead, he whispers.
"You stay here, baby. I'll get you a towel." He gets out of the shower and hands you a towel. "There's a robe hanging on the door. I'm right outside."
You dry off and slip out of your wet undergarments, wrapping the fluffy robe around yourself. When you open the door, he's sitting on the couch with a towel around his waist. He looks up at you in the robe and swallows deeply. You sit on the edge of the bed and smile awkwardly. He returns your smile.
"I'm going to get dressed. Stay here and don't go to sleep."
"Yes, sir." He chuckles softly and moves back to the bathroom. You settle against the pillows and hastily break your promise to stay awake. The warmth of rest washes over you and your eyes close.
******
Elvis puts you in the shower in your underwear facing away from him. It's impossible for him not to notice your figure, though. The curve of your ass in your white panties about drives him crazy. He strips naked and turns the shower on. Through the whole shower, he tells himself not to get aroused just at your proximity. Once he's finished, he pulls the handle to make the water stop and then turns to face you. Your hair and your body are wet from the shower and he wants to touch you so badly that it almost hurts. Without thinking, he leans down and presses his lips to your shoulder. It's an indulgence he should have resisted, but something about you is intoxicating. He breathes deeply and pulls himself away to get you a towel. Once he does, he walks out into the room and sits on the couch. What is it about you that has him so out of sorts?
When you come out in the robe, it takes all of his self control to keep from ripping it off of you. But he wants more from this. He wants to know you, not just fuck you and move on.
"I'm going to get dressed. Stay here and don't go to sleep." You give him a salute and he chuckles, making his way back to the bathroom. After about thirty seconds, though, he has a bad feeling. He doesn't even get his pants on and walks back into the room still in his towel.
He was right. You're asleep.
He moves to the bed quickly and sits next to you, shaking you gently.
"Hey, baby, wake up." You don't stir and he starts to panic. He thinks back to how he woke you up in the car and leans in and kisses your forehead. Still, you stay asleep. He kisses your cheek and then finally, he presses his lips to yours. Finally, your eyes flutter open and he smiles. "You're back."
******
"I am. You kissed me."
"I'm sorry; I was getting desperate." He looks into your eyes and your smiles fade.
"Do it again." You whisper and he nods, pulling your face back into his. He crashes his lips into yours and the kiss moves to a fever pitch as he parts your lips with his and slips his tongue into your mouth. He puts both hands on your cheeks and you sit up on your knees, ready to crawl into his lap. Thats when he notices his erection under the towel. It's impossible to hide and he pulls away, looking down, and trying to push his cock down to make it less obvious.
"Oh, god, I'm sorry, honey."
"Don't be. It's okay." He shakes his head.
"No. It's not. I brought you up here just to keep an eye on you and now this." He's ashamed at his reaction to you. He feels your finger under his chin and you pull his face to looking into yours.
"Elvis, I've loved you for as long as I can remember. Meeting you? Knowing you? It just confirms everything I've ever believed to be true about you." He melts at your words and pulls you in close to him, kissing you deeply. But he pulls away again.
"I don't want to hurt you. I don't know if you should do... this..."
"Then maybe I can do this..." You reach your hand forward and run it down his chest to the top of the towel. Then, he inhales sharply as you move further down to where his cock is erect underneath it. You slide your hand under the towel carefully and take him in your palm. He moans softly as you begin to stroke him, moving his foreskin back and forth gently.
"God, baby, that feels so good. You don't have to-"
"Shhh. You've been taking care of me all night. Let me take care of you." His hips buck into your hand as you continue to pump him. He grunts and leans his head back as you move your hand a little faster.
"Mmm, baby..." He moans as you push his foreskin back and collect a bead of precum that's gathered there, running your thumb across his sensitive head. He leans back and lets you move the towel out of the way to free his cock and stroke it in the open. You pump him a little faster and he groans again. "It's so good, baby."
He feels your lips on his cheek as you move your hand on him and turns to kiss you. He looks into your eyes and puts his hand on your cheek, leaning in to capture your lips again. Then, he presses his forehead to yours and whispers.
"Thank you..." You smile and continue moving your hand up and down on him gently. He throws his head back and his hips buck again. "Fuck, baby, I'm gonna-"
A guttural groan rises from his throat as he cums, hard, and shoots his climax all over your hand. You pump him through his release and he shudders into your palm. He uses the towel to wipe your hand clean and then lays back on the bed.
You giggle a little and lay back with him. He turns and looks at you.
"I haven't been that satisfied with a handjob in years."
"I haven't given one in years." You smile. He rolls over and smothers you in kisses, forgetting for a second that you might be hurt. He pulls back and looks into your eyes, reaching down to undo the tie on your robe. His hand runs underneath it onto your stomach and down to your hip.
"Can I make you feel good too, honey?" You nod frantically and he laughs out loud. Then he stops and looks at you seriously. "Alright, just don't move around too much. I'll never forgive myself if this hurts you."
"I really think I'm fine." He sinks to the floor between your knees and pulls you to the edge of the bed. He spreads your legs, kissing the inside of each of your thighs gently. You moan softly as he leans forward and drags his tongue up your slit to the bundle of nerves at the top.
"Oh, god, Elvis!" You whimper as he continues to move his mouth on you. He swirls his tongue over and around your clit in tantalizing circles. The sensation drives you wild and your pussy clenches around nothing as he licks you. He dips down and pushes his tongue into your slit several times before slipping one of his long fingers inside you. You whine and arch your back as he pumps his finger in and out and goes back to dragging his tongue over your clit. The pressure of your orgasm builds as he works and you know you won't last too much longer. He pulls back a little and flicks your sensitive bud with the tip of his tongue, teasing your orgasm out of you.
"Cum for me, baby." He whispers, pressing his whole mouth to you and moving his tongue on you hard.
"Oh, yes! Yes!" You cry out as your orgasm crashes into you, pumping through your veins like electric shockwaves. He continues working his mouth on you as you ride out your high, your hand in his hair.
When you finally come back down and stop shuddering, he pulls back, wiping his face with his hand and laying next to you on the bed.
"Wow." He chuckles and looks over at you. "No, seriously, I've never had a man...get me there."
"Really?"
"I mean, they've tried, but never successfully. It's like I was waiting for you."
"Honey, I feel like I've been waiting for you too." He rolls over and put his hand on your cheek.
"What do you mean?"
"I can't explain it. Something about being here with you, feels like I was meant to catch you."
"It feels like I was meant to fall." He presses his lips to yours, kissing you deeply. You shimmy out of the robe and get under the covers with him. He holds your naked body close to his own, running his hands over you gently as you talk.
You spend the rest of the night in conversation and soft touches. He tells you stories about his life and listens attentively when you share yours. The connection between you strengthens with each passing hour and each soft caress and each sweet kiss.
When the sun peeks through the curtains of your hotel room, he pushes a stray piece of hair behind your ear.
"I think you're okay, baby. You haven't had any other symptoms and it's probably been long enough now that you would have."
"Should I leave?"
"Not unless you want to."
"I don't."
"Then stay. We made it to the morning. We can rest now." You nod and he settles on your chest. You're both asleep within minutes, wrapped around each other.
Eventually, there's a harsh knock on the door and someone calls to him from the other side of it.
"Hey, boss, we gotta be wheels up in twenty."
"Okay." He hollers back, groaning and stretching.
"I'm sorry I kept you up all night." You whisper.
"Don't be, honey, that's the best night I've had in years." You both get up and start to get dressed. When you're fully put back together, he grabs you and pulls you into a warm embrace.
"I hate that you're leaving." You mumble into his chest.
"Come with me."
"What? No, I can't."
"Why not?" You wrack your brain for a reason, but there's nothing keeping you here. Nothing that's more important than him.
"Okay." You look up into his face, your arms still wrapped around each other.
"Really?"
"Yes. Can we swing by my apartment and let me grab a few things?"
"Baby, I'm Elvis Presley, we can do whatever we want." He leans in and kisses you softly again. "You know somethin'?"
"Hmm?"
"I know I caught you when you fell, but I think you're the one who saved me tonight." He takes your hand to lead you out of the room and into your future. "My own little angel fell right out of the sky. I'm so glad you did."
