wild to me that it takes hours for people in the usa to vote. it's never taken me more than 10 minutes and that's including the inevitable chit chat with the people there because they're either my parents' neighbours or the parents of people i went to school with.
#literally have your voting card and some kind of id ready#if you don't have your voting car then you just have to look up what desk you're supposed to go to usually it's split alphabetically so#for albonium it would be desk 1#get there give id (either my id my passport my social security card my driving license or a hunting permit (๐))))))))#pick up the little papers and an envelop#get in the booth#put the little paper in the envelop#that's if you haven't done it at home already#get out#put it in the box#the person there says โ HAS VOTEDโ#you sign next to your name#take your id#and fuck off#before your cousin's neighbours' grandma asks how your aunt is doing and if you've heard about the bakery being closed because the baker's#wife cheated on him and now he's got to take care of the kids and aetstdfhgfsgjgthj#you get what i mean#10 minutes tops#even in big cities#also it's always by paper like this if you want you can vote for someone else but you have to file papers at the police station#people empty the boxes and count them all together#if you want you're allowed to stay and watch as they count#or you can ask beforehand to participate in the counting#kids are automatically signed up on the voting lists when they turn 18 if they've done their mandatory 'defense and citizenship" day#ok this one is kind of propaganda-y for the army the cops etc but at the same time it allows to test the entire population to see if they'r#illeterate (there's grammar spelling etc tests)#do some driving rules lessons#cpr training#reminder about blood donations etc#which imo is important

Sure wish I didn't have thrives in routine and enjoys overwhelm but hates routine and is prone to burnout syndrome!
#anyway I'm off to sleep because I've gone moderately into hardcore busy mode for the next few months starting tomorrow#and this means sleeping hard at night but otherwise it's time to be a shark and not stop moving#i signed up for a course! I'm looking forward to it but my job can be a lot and I'm also trying to contunue training/physio and i socialize#a few nights a week most week#but my natural state is someone who grew up sitting on a rock by a stream in the forest for an hour or so on a near-daily basis#so i only really have two settings#anyway. working on that. time to become an apps and lists and timers person again for a bit

God I am furious
I literally canโt get excited for shows and their sequels anymore bc I canโt trust that the stories will get finished properly in the first place. So many shows with so much incredible queer rep that got cancelled and werenโt able to conclude their full stories and either had to let it go or wrap it up with rushed seasons or specials. Iโm talking Sense8, The Owl House, Julie and the Phantoms, Love Victor, Anne with an E, Atlantis and so many INCREDIBLE shows that never got to tell their full story and itโs MADDENING
