so um... i found a pose reference that gave me big vanishay vibes, but then i got carried away then tried to turn it into a lore moment for some reason? 😭

i don’t totally like how his arm looks plus i couldn’t get him low enough because the height difference was making it a really awkward angle, but that’s what i get for copying the anime style again... it’s janky but close enough lmao full disclosure vanilla's bangs and face are heavily referenced bc they were giving me the most grief to copy, no thanks to all those damn little LINES. reference + transparent vers. under the cut!

Well. Let's say the amount of kisses in my works is uh. 🤏

I don't feel like using the romance novellas, and I already posted about Till Death to death (he) so how about something that vaguely counts as WIP? This one is from Glass Shards, which is still on my editing to do list; sadly said list fell off the table 3 months ago.

The moment they were alone, Merridy sank against him. She buried her face in his shoulder, her chest heaving as the held back sobs escaped her. He wrapped his arm around her, pulling her close, not knowing what to say. No words were sufficient to ease her pain. What would be able to console him, should he learn that his brother had died? Nothing. “Damien?” she said after a while, her voice muffled. “Mhm?” “Promise me.” Her shaking hands grasped at his shirt as she held onto him almost desperately. “Promise me I’ll never lose you.”  Damien swallowed. If only it was that easy. If only he could be sure no one would ever recognize him, drag him away in chains. If only there was a way to avoid injury and illness for all time. But perhaps those possibilities didn’t matter, not right now. All that mattered was that he would do whatever it would take to stay at her side.  He lowered his head to press a kiss onto her hair. “I promise,” he whispered.

this thesis is gonna fucking kill me, this is fucking comparable to sitting through pchem and fluid mechanics back when in my second year of undergrad.

(pchem lectures mostly consisted of me quietly crying in lecture halls and thinking "fuck this shit i'd rather be unemployed and homeless than work with this shit i'd legit rather be unemployed" on repeat for 2 hours at a time. fluid mechanics wasn't difficult in hindsight and both the lecturer and the TAs were fucking amazing but it took me three semesters to finish that course, there was just something about it that prevented my brain from getting any work done /at all/, only in that one course)

my brain is significantly less efficient at getting anything done than it was back then, too. like i know there's a simple solution to this R problem i've been trying to solve for the past 3 days, i've found a couple of stackoverflow pages that look very close to what i'm looking for, but somehow my brain refuses to look at the code and actually /process/ what it's looking at so that i can copy it and change two lines and have my problem solved

...sigh.

batterie as a ship is so nuanced to me. like. i dont really ship it but also i love them. but only in specific scenarios. its like... crack treated seriously in my brain forever and always. i want nothing to do with them canonically. i would not ever want them to be canon that would suck and be so bad and reductive and out of character. however i also love the idea of putting these two little freaks of nature in an image together and going "what if they were roommates"
